Myrtle E. Skalla-Becker
Myrtle E. Skalla-Becker (nee Dreyer), 86, of Zion, went home to be with our Lord on September 19, 2004. Myrtle was born August 22, 1918 in Zion to George and Leona Dreyer and was a resident of Zion for many years. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. Always practicing her faith in the Lord she put others first. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Dr. Kalom in Zion and Dr. Kurt Brandt and Dr. Anne Jaron Brandt in Waukegan and Upjohn Healthcare. A devoted Catholic, she was one of the funding members of Our Lady of Humility Church.
Survivors include her four daughters, Barbara, (Ronald) Skalla-Baruffi of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Margaret (John) Skalla-Ciancio of Waukegan, Mary Skalla-Howell of Waukegan and Georgine (Ronald) Skalla-Rehor of Mundelein; 18 loving grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; two sisters, Muriel Mill of Zion and Mildred Stried of Zion; a brother, Norman Dreyer of Sturtevant, WI; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Skalla in 1968; her second husband, Alfred Becker in 1971; her parents, George and Leona Dreyer; and brothers, Nathaniel Dreyer, Chester Dreyer and Silas Dreyer.
Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10 AM on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Beach Park with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, contributions to either Seasons Hospice or Our Lady of Humility Church would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion.

Lucille C. Trzebny (nee Helbach)
Lucille C. Trzebny, 93, of Gurnee and formerly of North Chicago, died Saturday, September 18, 2004 at St. Joseph Home, Palatine, IL.
Lucille grew up in Stevens Point, WI and had lived in this area for 30 years. She worked in the office at Trzebny Brothers Furniture Refinishing in North Chicago, IL. Lucille was a member of Holy Rosary/Queen of Peace Church in North Chicago, a member of the Lake County Catholic Women's Club, The Blue Army Rosary and Our Lady's Rosary Makers.
She is survived by seven children, Marvin (Gloria) Chebny of Gurnee, Wilmer (Shirley) Trzebny of Omro, WI, Wayne Trzebny of Kenosha, Roman (Theresa) Trzebny of Kenosha, Mary Stanczak of Waukegan and Margie (Robert) Jones of Elk Grove, IL. Also she is survived by 22 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Roman on May 22, 1959; four sisters, three brothers and a grandchild, Sara Louise Trzebny.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at Queen of Peace Church in North Chicago, IL. Interment will be at St. Joseph cemetery in Stevens Point, WI.
Visitation for Lucille will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21 at the SALATA FUNERAL HOME, 729 14th St., North Chicago, IL.

Evelyn F. Ames
Evelyn F. Ames, 81, of Waukegan, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2002 at Provena-St. Therese Medical Center. She was born March 9, 1921 in Waukegan. She was an excellent seamstress and very artistic. Her hobbies included sewing and bowling. She was retired from Fansteel in 1983 after over 35 years of employment.
Survivors include 3 children Donna Doshier of Waukegan, Patricia (Tom) Eatherly of Beach Park and Benjamin (Doe) Ames of Beach Park; 5 grandchildren, Tom, Cheryl (Jeff) and Greg Eatherly, Cheri, Roy (Diane) Ames; one cousin Edward Buckley of Waukegan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Florence (nee Nelson) Thomas; one brother Frank Thomas; and two sisters, Helen Rush (George) Murray and Lulu (Hal) Kenimer.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2002 at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF WAUKEGAN, 1521 Washington St., with Rev. Dr. Gehl DeVore officiating. Burial will be at Millburn cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Diabetes Foundation.

Christopher William Bilharz
Christopher William Bilharz, 34, of Lake Bluff, IL, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2002 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born April 26, 1968 in Evanston, IL, was raised in Lake Forest and was a former resident of Monument, CO. Chris had lived in Lake Bluff for the past 6 years, was a Senior Researcher for the Construction Market Data Company in Oak Brook, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Surviving are his Fiancee Patsy Drell of Libertyville; his mother Ann Bilharz of Lake Bluff; his brother Ted (Stacy) Bilharz of Green Oaks and sister Alexandra (fiance Kyle Kitchens) Wells of Fort Myers, FL; a nephew Nicholas and nieces Megan and Samantha. He was preceded in death by his father Theodor F. Bilharz, Sr. in 1992.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice in his memory.

John William Devitt
John William Devitt, 82 years old, passed away at Victory Memorial Hospital on Monday, September 16, 2002. He was born in Vincennes, Indiana and had lived in Waukegan for the past 25 years. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea having served 18 years in the Army. He was a member of the Salvation Army Corp.
Beloved husband of Geraldine "Geri" nee Hasney. Loving brother of Hugh (Marilyn) Devitt and Mary Lee Austin. Dearest son of the late John and Leona Devitt.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center, 431 S. Genesee Street, Waukegan. Visitation is one half hour prior to service. Captain Dianne Williams will officiate. Burial at the North Shore Garden of Memories. Arrangements by Christian Undertakers.

Mary A. McRae
Mary A. McRae (nee Behm) age 75, of Clearwater, FL, died Saturday, July 13, 2002 at Hospice House Woodside, Pinellas Park, FL. She was born in Fremont Twp., IL and worked for many years as a dental hygienist for VHA North Chicago and Great Lakes Naval Station. She moved from Des Plaines, IL to Clearwater, FL in 1976 and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Largo, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross McRae and a step-daughter, Cynthia, her parents, Marcus and Catherine Behm, two brothers James and Raymond Behm and two sisters Frances Paddock and Florence Miller.
Survivors include a son, Robert (Linda Kelly) Stemwedel, Jr., Boulder, CO, Sandra (Douglas McKinney) Stemwedel, Indian Springs, OH, and Kim Wanamaker-Stemwedel, Denver, CO; a brother Ralph Behm, Park City, IL; sisters Helen Hall of Libertyville, IL, Rose Schulz, Clearwater, FL, Virginia (Fred) Vasey and Viola (Ernie) Plotz, both of Grayslake, IL; stepdaughter Cathy (Ron) Gahart of Libertyville, IL and stepsons Collin (Mary) McRae, Ingleside, IL, Cameron (Susan) McRae, Nevada, and Cary McRae, Wadsworth, IL. She had eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, seven step-great grandchildren, sister-in-law Kathleen Behm, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a dear friend, Betty Ford.
A memorial service will take place at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 22333 W. Earhart Rd., Mundelein (Fremont Center) on Saturday, September 21, 2002 at 10:00 AM with interment of her ashes immediately following the church service in the church cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held in the church from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest masses or donation to American Cancer Society or Arthritis Foundation.

Dorothy M. Nilsson
Dorothy M. Nilsson, 79, of Palm Harbor, Florida died on Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at Mease Countryside Hospital, Palm Harbor, Florida.
Dorothy was born June 9, 1923 in Louisville, Kentucky and moved to Florida in 1979 from Elk Grove Village, Illinois. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Walgreens and she belonged to Espiritu Santo Catholic Church of Safety Harbor.
Survivors include one son, Charles E. Nilsson of Elkhart, Indiana; one daughter Mary Beth Nilsson of Zion; and one sister Toni Bisig of Louisville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband Ed in 1997 and by her father and mother Mary Elizabeth (Everich) and George Bisig.
Services will be held on Monday, September 23, 2002 at CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion with Rev. Jann of Our Lady of Humility Church officiating. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville.

Jenet (Jessie) Elaine Stover
Jenet Elaine Stover, 43, of Waukegan passed away on September 11, 2002, at St. Therese Medical Center in Waukegan.
Jenet was born on May 15, 1959 in Racine, WI to Dolores Hough and the late Harry Rasmussen.
She is survived by her husband, Bill, of Colorado; a son, Eric Kent of Waukegan; a daughter, Elizabeth Keith of Michigan; a sister, Shawn (Robert) Fox; three brothers: Harry Rasmussen of Waukegan, Rick Rasmussen of Kenosha, WI, and John Hough of Pleasant Prairie, WI; two grandsons: Tyler Kent of Washington state and Griffen Keith of Michigan; her stepfather, Arthur (Carin) Kent of Longmont, CO; and several nieces and nephews.
"May God grant you the peace and serenity you were looking for."
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 824 N. Lewis Ave., Waukegan.

Grace A. Volz
Grace A. Volz, 76, of Lake Bluff, formerly of Waukegan, died September 17, 2002 at her home. She was born October 10, 1925 in Chicago and had been a Lake Bluff resident for the past 37 years. Mrs. Volz had worked as a supervisor for Illinois Bell for 20 years and was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville.
She is survived by her husband Al of 47 years and her daughter Valerie. Mrs. Volz was the last living of 9 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, September 20 from MCMURROUGH CHAPEL, 101 Park Place, Libertyville to St. Joseph Church for funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Ascension cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sandra L. Wasserman
Sandra L. Wasserman, age 56, of Bristol, Wisconsin, passed away at Kenosha Hospital & Medical Center in Kenosha, WI on Sunday, September 15, 2002, after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Libertyville, IL on December 2, 1945, the daughter of Ellen Petersen and the late Leonard Schneider. She loved baseball and bingo.
She is survived by her husband, Ira; her mother, Ellen Petersen of Lake Villa, IL; her sisters, Vi (Don) Kluth of Lake Villa and Linda (Bill Blumthal) Hensgen of Antioch, IL; her sister-in-law, Helen Breaseke of Hollywood, FL and a nephew, Aaron Hensgen. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Schneider, her step father, William Petersen and her sister, Judy Anderle.
Funeral arrangements were private and under the care of RINGA FUNERAL HOME, Lake Villa, IL.

Luetishia "Tishy" Watkins
Luetishia "Tishy" Watkins was born May 16, 1938, in Mason, Tennessee to the union of Walter and Ester Peet.
She attended Griffin Elementary School in Bradon, Tennessee and Fayette County Training School in Somerville, Tennessee. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. She joined Prospect Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Carmichael. In 1955, she was united in holy matrimony to Charles Walton and unto this union six children were born. In 1967, she moved to Zion, Illinois and joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the present pastor, Dr. B.J. Gaston. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Willing Workers and served faithfully until her health failed her. She later remarried and did domestic work for several years. She later gained employment with the Veterans Administration Hospital in North Chicago, Illinois and retired after 23 years of service.
The Heavenly Father called Luetishia from this life on September 16, 2002.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Verna Mae Walton, her father, Walter Peet, her paternal grandmother, Sally Bell Peet, and her maternal grandparents, Bee and Carrie Taylor.
She leaves to cherish her memory: five daughters: Linda, Sherry, and Jeanette Walton, all of Zion, IL, Margaret (Perry) Williams, of Kenosha, WI, and Stephanie Walton, of Zion, IL; one son, Richard (Ruby) Walton, of Kenosha, WI; her mother, Ester Peet, of Zion, IL; four sisters: Barbara (Fred) Yates of Eads, TN, Mary Cain, Carrie (Wayne) Kimble, and Kimberly Jackson, all of Zion, IL; seven brothers: Henry (Jean) Peet, of East St. Louis, IL, Charles Peet, of Racine, WI, Grant (Linda) Peet, of Zion, IL, Walter Peet, of Kenosha, WI, Billy Peet, of Zion, IL, Robert (Pamela) Peet, of Kenosha, WI, and Frank (Roberta) Bouie, of Memphis, TN; 24 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. Two special friends, Katie Buchanan-Moore and Lovie Geater and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 20, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2500 West 30th St., Zion with Dr. B.J. Gaston, Pastor officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion.

Ann E. Czosek Zischke
Ann E. Czosek Zischke, 89 of Libertyville, Illinois passed away on August 11, 2002 at Long Grove Manor Nursing Home. She was born on June 5, 1913, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and had been a resident of Libertyville for the past 14 years. In 1932 she married Erwin R. Czosek in Chicago, Illinois. After 47 years of marriage he died in 1979. They lived their last 25 years together in Port Charlotte, Florida. She later married Arthur Zischke, who died in 1994.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Czosek and a brother, Frank Kaiser.
Ann leaves to cherish her memory her survivors, including a son, Irwin (Marilynn) Czosek of Libertyville, IL. Also five grandchildren David (Janet) Czosek of Vernon Hills, IL; Linda (Daniel) Harriman of Round Rock, Texas; Gary (Suzanne) Czosek of Wadsworth, IL; Janet (Michael) Skalitzky of Kenosha, Wis. and Paul (Jennifer) Czosek of Gurnee, IL. Also twelve great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday September 22, 2002 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave., Libertyville, IL.
