Paul W. Keegan
Paul W. Keegan, 89, of Mundelein. Memorial service is 11 AM, Saturday, September 25, 2004 at the Kristan Funeral Home P.C., 219 West Maple Ave (2 blocks west of Rt. 45 on Rt 176), Mundelein.
He was born October, 27, 1914 the son of Elvira Amy (nee Ferguson) Keegan and Clement Keegan in Oxford, Ohio and died peacefully at home on Monday, August 2, 2004.
Paul was a graduate of Northwestern University of Continuing Education Class of 1948. He was a member of the Northwestern Half Century Club, Libertyville Centre Club and American Contract Bridge League. Paul served three terms (1964-1973) on the Diamond Lake School Board. Paul also had a long career as a mechanical design engineer, working as a consultant for many companies with varied projects.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ellen (nee Hanley) Keegan; daughter, Candace L. Keegan; sons, Dennis C. Keegan and Kenneth H. Keegan; daughter-in-law, Kathy (nee Doherty) Keegan; and his grandson, Kristofer Keegan.
Visitation one hour prior to services, 10-11 AM at the funeral home.

Lawrence Owiecki "Larry"
Our friend and father, Lawrence "Larry" Owiecki, age 91, moved on to his rest with Jesus on August 13, after a three year fight against lung cancer. He was a former resident of Waukegan, IL, living in his own home, sharing memorable times with his son, Roger Owiecki. They resided on Lewis Ave., where every afternoon you would see Larry walking his Irish Setter to Weiss Field.
He spent the last few years of his life in Guam and California storing up precious memories with his son-in-law and daughter, Lee and Glenda Owiecki Meadows. He had fun times with his grandchildren, Lauren Lee, LaVonne and Michelle; their grandmother, Betty Owiecki; and his nieces and nephew, Gloria Lind, Danielle and Gordon; and his special friend, Kevin. He also had many great times with his two older sisters, Marie Anderson and Irene Lind; and an older brother, Charlie Owens.
Each day while in Guam, he enjoyed going to the Hilton with Jim Sullivan, who treated Larry like his own father.
Larry has passed on to all of us his "Joys of Life"; his love of God, family, the Bible, food, outside, fun and music.

Mae Schneider
Mae Schneider, 87, of Waukegan, IL, died Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at the Terrace Nursing Home. She was born in Chicago, IL to John and Mary (Asma) Schneider on May 17, 1917. Mae was raised and educated in Waukegan, graduating from Waukegan Township High School, a member of the Class of 1937.
She retired in 1979 from Abbott Laboratories after 42 years of service. Mae enjoyed golf and bowling and continued to watch them on television when her health no longer permitted those activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Matthew, John, Andrew, and Lawrence.
She is survived by her brother, Joseph; sister-in-law, Joyce; and eight nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2004 at 11 AM at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd. Burial at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation from 10 AM to 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
Carl R. Strom, Sr.
Carl R. Strom, Sr., 85, of Zion and formerly of Mundelein, died on Friday, September 17, 2004 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in North Chicago. Carl was born October 3, 1918 in Madison, Wisconsin, grew up in Chicago and has lived in Mundelein since 1950. He was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Mundelein. He retired after 30 years as a Pressman for W.F. Hall Printing Company in Chicago, was a member of Mundelein VFW and he belonged to the Wheeling Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. As a veteran, Carl served 18 years with the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include four sons, Roy (Karen) Strom of Webb City, Missouri, Carl (Barbara) Strom Jr. of Lake Carroll, Illinois, Gary (Sara) Strom of Houston, Texas and Eric (Mona) Strom of Zion; eight grandchildren; and a great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Idamae; a brother, Roy; and his father and mother, Carl V. and Lilly Strom.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 20, 2004 at 10 AM at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 10 S. Lake Street, Mundelein, Illinois with Pastor Mark Selbo officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens cemetery in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Visitation will be Sunday, September 19, from 5 to 8 PM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion.
Dorothy DeYoung Survilas
Dorothy DeYoung Survilas, 90, of Waukegan, IL passed away on Monday, September 13, 2004 at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center in Lindenhurst, IL.
She was born on August 2, 1914 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late John and Delia (nee Maguel) DeYoung. She was a lifelong resident of Waukegan. Dorothy was the Executive Secretary to the Chairman of the Board of Abbott Laboratories, Dr. Ernest H. Volwiler, Ph.D, for 27 years and later retired from Hoerner Waldorf Corporation in 1979. She was an avid bowler and was past president of the Senior Citizens- Belvidere Place. She and her late husband, Anthony, were members of the Swedish Glee Club for many years.
She is survived by her nephews, John (Patricia) Broecker of Woodbury, MN and Gary (Elaine) Boone of Graham, NC, and other relatives. Also surviving are special dear friends and caretakers, Bob and Lu Clark of Waukegan.
She was preceded in death by her loving and hard working husband, Anthony in 1969, and sisters, Ruth (Fred) Hamlin and Florence (Bud) Kucera.

Dwayne Wilson, Sr.
Dwayne Wilson Sr., 34, was born June 10, 1969 and left this earth on Sept. 15, 2004.
Dwayne was a member of Jesus Name Apostlic Church and was employed at Catholic Charities.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Tenesha Gordon-Wilson of Waukegan, IL; his mother Melba L. Wilson of Chicago, IL; 4 sons Dwayne Gordon of Waukegan, Jarry Little of N. Chicago, Dwayne Jr. and Quintell Wilson (Mother Jackie Liggins) of N. Chicago; 3 daughters Danesha, Ebony and Shaniqua all of Waukegan; 3 sisters Shena Wilson of Chicago, Vodkeya Campbell of Washington, DC, and Melba M. Wilson of N. Chicago; 5 brothers Michael Sutton of Skokie, Marlon (Delicia) Duffie of Racine, WI, Shaft Wilson of Waukegan, Michael and Tarell Wilson of N. Chicago; and his Grandmother Ruth Wilson of N. Chicago; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
Dwayne is preceded in death by his daughter Diedre Wilson and father Michael D. Branch.

Bill Dace
Bill Dace, 79, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, formerly of Waukegan, Illinois and Sun City West, Arizona, passed away on September 15, 2001 at Grand Prairie Nursing Home, Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.
Bill was born on June 10, 1922, in Sullivan, Missouri, and on December 30, 1950 married
Shirley Price of Iowa, and together moved to Waukegan. He was for years active in choir and drama and taught Sunday School at Calvary Temple in Waukegan, and more recently, was a member of the Evangel Assembly of God Church in Sun City, Arizona. He was employed at Commonwealth Edison, Station 16, in Waukegan for 35 years. Bill was a graduate of the University of Iowa in Ames, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley of 50 years; two children, Gordon Lee (Alma) Dace of Blair, Wisconsin, and Cheryl Diemer (Warren) of Gurnee, Illinois; and by four grandchildren, Sarah, Russell, and Katie Dace and Austin Diemer.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; two sisters, Genevieve and Mildred; and by three brothers, Melvin, Dennis and Vernon, Sr.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Illinois with Pastors Michael Tennyson and Jim Guilford of the First Assembly of God of Kenosha, Wisconsin officiating.
A visitation will be held on Monday evening, September 17, 2001 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville, Illinois.

Thomas P. Davies
Thomas P. Davies, 56, of Zion, IL, died at home on Monday, September 10, 2001. He was born on January 9, 1945 in Waukegan, IL.
Thomas was a veteran in the U.S. Airforce.
He is survived by three sons, Thomas, Jr. of Golden, CO,Jeffrey (Joanie) of Hoffman Estates and Todd of Gurnee, IL; one daughter, Traci Davies of Grayslake, IL; five grandchildren, Anthony, Megan, Sierra, Edyn and Tyler; his mother, Valerie and the children's mother, Opal, both of Waukegan, IL.
Funeral services will be private on Saturday, September 15, 2001 with Rev. Gehl Devore officiating.

Margaret E. DeYoung
Margaret E. DeYoung, 89, of Waukegan passed away on September 14, 2001 at Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home in Zion, Illinois.
Margaret was born on June 9, 1912 in Kenosha, Wisconsin and had lived and worked in Waukegan for a number of years.
She is survived by two children, Dirk Arthur (Kathy) DeYoung of West Bend, Wisconsin and Betty Jo (Michael) Gadsby of Gurnee; five grandchildren, Darcy (Torsten) Rahm, Erika Gadsby, Graham DeYoung, James DeYoung and Peter DeYoung; a sister, Ruth (Bill) Bredek.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur F. DeYoung on February 23, 1974; and a sister, Betty (Chet) Maxwell.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, September 19, 2001 at the MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Road with the Rev. Dr. Gehl Devore officiating. Interment will be private at North Shore Garden of Memories in North Chicago.

Marc Edwards-McCann
Marc Edwards-McCann, 27, of Scott Air Force Base, Illinois and formerly of Gurnee, died Thursday, September 13, 2001 at Scott Air Force Base, IL.
He was born November 22, 1973 in Nuremberg, Germany and lived in Gurnee most of his life. He had attended Warren Township High School, Class of 1992.
Marc attended Gurnee Community Church. He was most recently employed in Sales with G.B.C. in Northbrook, IL. Marc enjoyed all sports and was an avid Bears fan.
Marc is survived by his wife, Amy Edwards; and daughter, Skye Marie Antoinette Edwards of Scott A.F.B.; his mother and father, Hugh "Skip" and Kathrine McCann of Gurnee; brothers, Nicholas and Kevin; and a sister, Caitlyn all of Gurnee; his grandparents, Virginia Reaser of Gurnee and Howard "Bud" and Elaine McCann of Gurnee; and many relatives and friends.
Visitation for Marc will be Tuesday, September 18 from 4 to 8 PM at the SALATA-GURNEE FUNERAL HOME, 4190 Old Grand Ave, Gurnee, IL. Services for Marc will be at 11 AM on Wednesday at the Gurnee Community Church, 4555 Old Grand Ave, Gurnee, IL. Interment will follow at Warren cemetery.
