Julia Elizabeth Hiss, 75, Of Round Lake Beach, IL passed away at her Home on Saturday, September 15, 2001.
She was born in Lublin, Wisconsin on March 16, 1926, the daughter of the late Sylvester and Iona Hiss. She was a former resident of South Bend, IN, Skokie, IL, and Knox, IN, before moving to Round Lake Beach. She retired from Evanston Hospital as a telephone operator. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a cherished sister.
She is survived by her children, Craig (Jean) Menser of Wooddale, IL, Donna (Stephen Hunter) Menser, Bruce (Jackie) Menser of South Elgin, and Audrey (Jeff) Hansen of Antioch; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Stefon, Janette, Joey, Jerry, Kristopher, Jessica, Jordan, and Michelle; her great grandson, David; her brothers and sisters, Robert, Richard, James, John, Doris, Jeanette, Rose, Iona, Sylvia, Peggy and Patty.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia and Rita.
Funeral services will be 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, September 20, 2001 from RINGA FUNERAL HOME, 122 S. Rt. 83, Lake Villa, IL 60046, to Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Lake Villa, IL for a 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass. Interment will be private. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M.
Joseph B. Ogrin
Joseph B. Ogrin, 83, of Westminster, CO., formerly of Waukegan, Illinois, died Tuesday, September 11, 2001 in Denver, CO. He was born on August 5, 1918 in Waukegan, IL.
Joe was a member of American Legion, Northglenn, CO., Post 22 and past member of American Legion, Waukegan, Post 281. In 1998 Joe was inducted into the Lake Forest College Foresters Athletic Hall of Fame. Joe earned 3 varsity letters in football at Lake Forest College, he received All-Conference Honors and in his Senior year he was awarded the Clayton Mark Trophy recognizing him as the Most Valuable Player. He played on 2 undefeated teams in 1938 and 1940. After graduating in 1941, he joined the U.S. Navy and served as Amphibious Forces staff officer, seeing duty in the Pacific Theater on the USS Eldorado and participating in the battles of the Palau islands and Okinawa. After an honorable discharge, Joe accepted a position with Abbott Laboratories, North Chicago, IL. He also worked for Grant/Jacob Advertising Agency, Chicago, IL., and retired from Westclox Division of General Time Corporation, LaSalle, IL. In 1976, Joe played an instrumental role in organizing fellow club members to purchase Deer Park Golf Club in Oglesby, IL. where he served as president for many years.
Joe is survived by 1 son, Douglas M. (Joyce) Orgin and 1 grandson Joseph D., all of Westminster, CO., 1 sister Rosette Vaicys of North Chicago, IL., and 1 nephew Bruce Grampo of Green Lake, WI. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean (nee Daley) and 1 son Brent.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 18, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. at BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME, 313 Tenth Street, North Chicago, IL. 60064. Interment will be in Ascension cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Visitation will be on Monday September 17, 2001 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Times and Day subject to change due to flight delays.
Evelyn I. Warmcastle
Evelyn I. Warmcastle, 91, of Libertyville, Illinois died Friday, September 14, 2001 in Winchester House in Libertyville.
She was born January 19, 1910 in Buffalo, NY.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Rod of Libertyville, IL; seven grandchildren, Margot Gibson, Ray Rodwell, Darlene Kylloner, Tony Rod, Judy McKinney, Jackie Harrington and John Warmcastle; 11 great grandchildren; and a sister, Amy Nizen Jefferson of Ohio.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday, September 18, 2001 in the MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE.
Services and interment will be in Sylvan Abbey, Clearwater, Florida.

Barbara A. Amann (nee Bruni)
Barbara A. Amann (nee Bruni), 66, of Libertyville/Green Oaks died suddenly Saturday, September 14, 2002 at Condell Medical Center, Libertyville. She was born January 12, 1936 in Chicago and had lived in the Libertyville area for the past 45 years.
Barbara was a graduate of Lake View High School, Chicago and had attended Columbia College. She had been a member of the staff at Cook Memorial Library, had worked at Hough Co. of Libertyville, Americana Corp. and as office manager for several other Libertyville area businesses. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish, the Guild of the B.V.M. and had served as a Minister of Care for the parish. She had attended the Lake Forest Senior Center and had taken up water coloring. Barbara was a former member of the Libertyville Ladies Golf League.
She is survived by her husband, Robert B. Amann; her children, Diane (Peter O'Neill) Amann of Berkley, CA, Rev. Terry (Susan) Amann of Creston, Iowa and James (Tami) Amann of Atlanta, GA; her grandchildren, Tiernan O'Neill, Sarah and Rachel Amann; and her brother, Al Bruni of CA. preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Amelia Bruni.
Funeral Services will be 9:30 AM Wednesday, September 18 from McMurrough Chapel, 101 Park Place to St. Joseph Church, 121 East Maple St, Libertyville for Funeral Mass at 10 AM. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery. Visitation Tuesday, 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Florence T. Bonk
Florence T. Bonk, 92, of Libertyville, IL., passed away Monday, September 16, 2002 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
She was born April 29, 1910 in Chicago, she was a former resident of Wildwood Living in Libertyville since 1975. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish and the Guild of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Libertyville and was an active volunteer at the Liberty Towers, where she was a former volunteer of the year.
Surviving are three children, Gordon (Eileen) Bonk of Tucson, AZ., Nancy Hutchings of Gurnee and Joyce (Victor) Castle of Australia; seven grandchildren, Larry Bonk, Julie (Ralph) Calvano, Michael Bonk, Gary Hutchings, Thomas (Nancy) Hutchings, Tammy Hutchings and Melissa (Nick) Pollotta; eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Bonk in 1968, by her son-in-law, Dwayne Hutchings in 1967 and by 10 brothers and sisters.
Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2002 at THE BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville and services will continue with Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church. Interment will be at Maryhill cemetery in Niles. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in her memory.
Donald G. Collins, Sr.
Donald G. Collins, Sr., 74, of Beach Park died on Thursday, September 12, 2002 at St. Luke's Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin .
Donald was born February 2, 1928 in Otisco, Indiana and grew up in Indiana and West Virginia before moving to Waukegan upon being discharged from the Marine Corps in 1950. He was employed at Gillette in North Chicago and he was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park. He was also a former member and officer in the Waukegan Elks, serving locally and at the State level and primarily involved in Veterans activities for the Elks. He also belonged to Lake County A.A.R.P. and Vista Health Senior Spirit Program.
From an early age, Don loved trains, especially steam trains, influenced by the fact that his father was a Section Foreman for the B & O Railroad and that the family home was across from the Railroad tower. As a boy, he was allowed to signal the passing trains - he was proficient at it. Train trips between Indiana and West Virginia were often and common.
As an adult, his love of trains was reinforced by frequent visits to railway museums locally and around the U.S. and train rides. His son shared his love of trains and presented him with many train gifts which resulted in quite a collection. His son will always remember one cross country trip with his father. Other train trips included crossing Canada, the Mexican "Grand Canyon" and famous steam trains in the U.S.
His daughter Denise will always remember his sense of humor, generosity of spirit and his outreach to others. His spirit touched so many in life and in the final days leading to his death. He always gave to others without expecting a reward. He blessed family and friends and will always be remembered as a gentle person.
His joy of writing poetry is shared by Denise, a tradition she will continue. He loved the outdoors and loved to travel by camper, car and trains.
Survivors include wife, Norma; one son, Donald G. Collins, Jr. of Beach Park; one daughter, Denise Collins of Ft. Myers, Florida; three sisters, Grace Warren of Evansville, Indiana, Betty (Maurice) Austin of Warrenville, Oregon and Juanita (Robert) Smith of Oceanside, California; one brother, Eugene (Myrtle) Collins of Jeffersonville, Indiana; two brothers-in-law, Al (Margaret) Jellings of Round Lake Beach and Ken (Beth) Jellings of Rockford, Illinois; sister-in-law Arlene Bostian of Conroe, Texas; and numerous other family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, September 19, 2002 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Beach Park. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00PM at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion.

Isabel J. Coursey
Isabel J. Coursey, 78, of Libertyville, IL passed away Saturday, September 14, 2002 at the Winchester House in Libertyville.
She was born June 1, 1924 in Kokomo, Indiana, the daughter of the late Othel and Florence Swisher. She was a former resident of Kokomo, and Minneapolis, MN, and since her late husband was career military, lived in many different place. They retired to Port Richey, FL in 1979 and Mrs. Coursey has lived in Libertyville since 1997.
Surviving are her daughter, Pamela (Ralph) Bartels of Libertyville; four grandchildren, Rachael (John) Sidman and Alys (Jim) Stuersel, both of Bolingbrook, Sandra (Dave) Volling of Mesa, AZ and Noreen Bartels of Libertyville; eight great grandchildren, Destiny, Lindsay, Daniel, Madelyn, Alivia, Ryan,Steven and Jacob; her sister, Joan LaPier of Omaha, NE; two brothers, James (Mary) Swisher of Minneapolis, MN and Jack (Betty) Swisher of Tustin, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Coursey in 1984; and by her sister, Miriam Shoquette.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM Tuesday, September 17 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176), Libertyville with visitation for one hour prior to Services. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
Robert F. Gleaner
Robert F. Gleaner 68, of Round Lake Beach, died Saturday, September 14, 2002 at his home. He was born January 11, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of William and Leona (nee Marsh) Gleaner. He married
Joilea Akins on February 23, 1968 at Boldo Baptist Church in Alabama. From Alabama, Mr. Gleaner moved to the Round Lake area 33 years ago. Employed as a drug analyst computer technician for Abbott Laboratories for 25 years, he retired in 1997. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during the Korean War. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Round Lake where he served as an usher for many years. Robert was an avid football fan and worked with the Round Lake and Grayslake Park Districts and most recently with the Warren Township Center youth football teams. He spent much time mentoring and coaching area youths.
Survivors include his wife, Joilea (nee Akins) of Round Lake Beach; and a daughter, Tiffany (Jeremy) Mueller of Round Lake Beach. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 12 PM until 2 PM on Sunday, September 22, 2002 at JUSTEN'S ROUND LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 222 North Rosedale Court (at Cedar Lake Road), Round Lake. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home immediately following the visitation with the Rev. Paul Weegs officiating. Inurnment will be at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery. Memorials to the American Diabetes Association, 30 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL and Trinity Lutheran Church, 25519 W. Hwy. 134, Ingleside, IL 60041, would be appreciated by the family.

Leo Keisler
Leo Keisler, 80 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Sunday, September 15, 2002 at Pebblebrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lake Bluff, IL. He was born September 26, 1921 in Long Grove, IL the son of the late Herman and Rose (Miller) Keisler. Leo lived in the area most of his life, graduating from Antioch High School in 1939. He served in the US Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII and was a life member of the VFW Post #4308 of Lake Villa and member and past president of the Board of Directors for the Lake Villa Canteen Veteran's Club. Leo was also a former member of the Antioch Fire Department, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #525 of Antioch and the Antioch Lions Club.
Leo was a self employed electrician and had worked at Sherwood Park in various capacities since his teens until his retirement this year.
On March 1, 1941 he married
Helen Horton in Iowa and she preceded him in death on November 20, 2000.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet (Stephen) Krumm of Kenosha, WI and a son, Lance (Janet) Keisler of St. John, Virgin Islands; one grandson, Kurt (Deanna) Krumm; two great grandchildren, Parker and Kendall Krumm; two sisters, Alta Smith of Friendship, WI and Gladys (Roy) Aronson of Genoa City, WI; two brothers, Lawrence (Lois) Keisler of Salem, WI and Herman (Betty) Keisler of Lake Geneva, WI; his brother-in-law, Gordon Volling, Sr., of Antioch and his sister-in-law, Jeanette Keisler of Antioch. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Laurene Volling and one brother, Elmer Keisler.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 20, 2002 at STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83). Interment with military honors will be in Hillside cemetery, Antioch. Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 PM Thursday with VFW services at 7:00 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the Antioch Fire Department in his memory.
Mildred McCormick
Mildred McCormick, loving mother and devoted grandmother, left this earth peacefully to be with her Savior on September 10, 2002. Mildred was born on April 21, 1915 in Albion, IA.
Husband, Christopher B. McCormick; daughters, Mary Makkay, Catherine Carlson and Margaret Ann McCormick preceded her in death. One sister, Genevieve Bloom, 91, of Brandt, WI; three sons, Ben (Ann) McCormick, Duane (Roxanne) McCormick, Dan (Fran) McCormick; one daughter, Josie (Norval) Haile; 16 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren survive her.
Mildred lived a long, beautiful life based on the faith she so strongly believed in. She had always been an active member of her local churches in San Antonio and in Florida. Mildred was a sewing and cooking enthusiast. She shared and taught these gifts to many others, both young and old. Mildred raised six children, each of whom blessed her life. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All of her family and friends will miss her dearly and hold her forever in their hearts.
Funeral Services were held Friday, September 13, 2002 in San Antonio, TX. Interment was at Mission Burial Park North, San Antonio, TX. Memorial donations may be made to Vitas Hospice, 4715 Fredericksburg Rd., San Antonio, TX 78229.
