Tammy Lynn (Phelps) Rivera
Tammy Lynn (Phelps) Rivera, 44, of Park City, IL passed away suddenly September 14, 2002 at St. Therese Hospital.
Tammy was born May 16, 1958 in Waukegan, IL.
She attended Waukegan Schools. She received her Professional Master Supervisor Certificate from Northern Illinois Business Association in 1995. She received her Associate Degree from Concordia University in Wisconsin. She was employed by Cherry Electric for 25 years. She also worked at Kohls in Gurnee. She was an avid Bears Fan and loved her two grandchildren and her two boys.
She is survived by her sons, Eusebio, Jr. (Brittany) and Michael (Dina); two grandsons, Eusebio (Joey) and Evan Michael. Also survived by sisters, Sandi (Dennis) Crawford, Barbara (Manuel) Serreno, Karen (Benji) Comas, Joan Cantrell, Betty (Terry) Terran, Joyce (Joe) Juliano; brother James (Becky) Phelps; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws and special friends, Elvia Lopez and Meaney Franklin.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Eusebio; her parents, James and Lorraine Phelps.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2002 at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington St. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville.
Donations to the family would be appreciated.

Ann Smith
Ann Smith, age 69, of McHenry died Sunday, September 15, 2002 at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry surrounded by her family.
She was born March 3, 1933 in Chicago to William and Grace (Martin) Smith. She married Richard Smith on June 11, 1955 at St. Patrick Church in McHenry.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in McHenry and had been a teaching assistant at Sedom. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, reading and being with her family.
Survivors include her husband, two daughters Debbie (Randy) Glick of McHenry and Sandy (Bob) Lane of Libertyville, a son Bob Smith of Flagstaff, Arizona, her grandchildren Lauren and Brett Glick and Ryan and Ashley Lane, a brother Fred (Mary) Thompson, a nephew Ryan (Jodi) Thompson and a niece Heather (Jesse) Janik.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an aunt Rita Martin.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM at COLONIAL FUNERAL HOME, 591 Ridgeview Dr. (at Bull Valley Rd.) McHenry. Prayers will be said Wednesday at 9:50 AM at the funeral home and proceed to St. Patrick Church for Mass at 10:30 AM. Rev. Stephen Potter officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick Countryside cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Clarence B. Anderson
Clarence B. Anderson, 93, of Park City, passed away Monday, September 15, 2003.
Survivors include his wife Hester May Anderson (nee Thompson); sister Helen Aasen of Lake Geneva, WI; son Jack L. Anderson of Gurnee, IL; daughter Connie M. Anderson of Blue Ridge, VA; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Johanna Anderson of Coon Valley, WI; five brothers and two sisters of Coon Valley, WI.
He was a former 36 year employee of Arwell, Inc., starting at the age of 19. He was also a partner with John Connley for 8 years, retiring to Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1972. In 1999 he moved back to Park City, IL.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2003 at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park.

Virgil E. Bertrand
Virgil E. Bertrand, 74, of Park City formerly of Wheeling passed away on September 8, 2003 at Victory Memorial Hospital, Waukegan. He was born on May 24, 1929 in Goodrich, IL to the late LeRoy and Rhea Bertrand. Virgil served in the Army Signal Corp from 1946-1948. He worked for Video Systems and later retired from Industrial Television after more than 20 years. Mr. Bertrand owned and cared for miniature horses, he loved animals and was a perfectionist about his gardening.
He is survived by his wife Shirley; his eleven children; his eighteen grandchildren; his brother Vern (Betty) Bertrand, and by many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
He is preceded in death by his sister Carmen and brother Meryl.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 20, 2003 at KOLSSAK FUNERAL HOME, 189 S. Milwaukee Ave. (2 Blocks South of Dundee Road), Wheeling. Interment will be privately held. Memorial visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM.

Kathryn Adele Froehlich
Kathryn Adele Froehlich, 85. of McHenry, died Monday September, 15, 2003, at her home. Born July 8, 1918, in Chicago, the daughter of Dr. Alexander I and Frances (Welch) Froehlich.
She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Church and Director of the church choir for many years. She graduated from McHenry High school Class of 1936 and attended the Chicago Conservatory of Music. She was Director of McHenry High School Choruses and was a member of the McHenry Landmark Commission. She wrote a popular column for the McHenry Plaindealer entitled, "Music and Meanderin" and later became Editor of that newspaper. In 1976, she was honored as "Woman of the Year", by the McHenry Business & Professional Women. In 1982, she was recognized as the distinguished graduate of MCHS Class of 1936 and was named parade Marshall for Fiesta Days, in 1982. Adele was one of the main responsible people for saving Landmark School, in McHenry. In 1991, she was presented with a plaque by the McHenry Chamber of Commerce for contributing to the cultural legacy of McHenry as Director of the McHenry Choral Club for 50 years, which she organized, in 1940, with 18 singers. The choral club disbanded, in 1991, with 55 members.
She enjoyed tennis and was a ranked amateur player in the State of Illinois with a wicked backhand, even temper and a great competitivenes.
Survived by cousins Paul (Maxine) Penney of Winnebago, MN, Rosemary (Stanley) Riggs of Ottertail, MN and LaVonne (Norbert) Maertens of Montgomery, AL. Nadine Penney of Burnsville, MN, Richard Smith of McHenry; other relatives include: Debbie (Randy) Glick of McHenry, Sandy (Bob) Lane of Libertyville and Bob Smith of Flagstaff, AZ, and Fred(Mary) Thompson of Belleville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two cousins Francis Penney and Ann Smith and her dear friend John Goodknecht, and other family members Clarence and Mae Martin, Rita, Robert and William Martin and Grace Thompson.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September, 18, 2003, from 3 to 8 P.M., at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Dr., McHenry, where prayers will be said Friday, September, 18, 2003, at 9:50 A.M., proceeding to St. Patrick Church for a 10:30 Mass. Internet will be in St. Patrick Churchyard cemetery. Memorials to the charity of your choice in her name.

Helen Gaede
Helen Gaede, 86, of Gurnee, Illinois, passed away on September 16, 2003 at her home. She was born in Waukegan, Illinois on June 30, 1917 and was the daughter of the late Lars and Christine Rasmussen.
She was a member of the Waukegan Emblem Club, Gurnee Women's Club, the Moose and Christ Episcopal Church. She loved to bowl and golf but her favorite activity was her charity work. She and a friend started the "Tabs for Vivian" drive.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Larry) Dempski of Gurnee, a granddaughter, Laura (Andrew) Johnson and a grandson, Kelly (Rachel Scherrer) Dempski. She has one brother John (Betty) Rasmussen, one sister, Clara Wells and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald.
Visitation will be held on September 19, 2003 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at North Shore Garden of Memories Chapel, Green Bay Rd., North Chicago. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rush Hospice Partners, 800 N. Westmoreland, Suite LL10, Lake Forest, IL 60045.

Kathleen R. Gray
Kathleen R. Gray, 58, of Kenosha, passed away Monday, September 15, 2003 at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born in St. Louis, MO on January 17, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Marie (Wachter) Stricker. On January 4, 1987 she married Charles Gray in Las Vegas, NE. After serving over 20 years, she retired in 2000 from Jewel Food Stores.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Waukegan, IL. She loved traveling, spending time with her grandchildren, she enjoyed dining out, the movies, collecting Precious Moments and Mickey Mouse Collectibles.
Surviving are her husband Charles Gray of Kenosha; three daughters, Julia (Marcus) Tolentino of Jacksonville, FL, Gabrielle (Steven) Sadowski of Kenosha; Brenda (Matthew) Koker of Kenosha; two sisters, Julie Sitze of Missouri; Ida Greenhill of Florida and four grandchildren, Amanda Hetlet, Samantha Tolentino, Cassi Tolentino and Mirranda Sadowski. She loved her faithful companion Princess Leah Daisy.
Funeral services for Mrs. Charles (Kathleen R.) Gray will be held on Friday, September 19 at PROKO FUNERAL HOME, 5111-60th St. at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Proko Funeral Home.

Joseph Hernandez
Joseph Hernandez, 73, of Gages Lake, passed away at his home September 14, 2003. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on July 11, 1930, the son of the late Nicholas and Sabina (nee Maestre) Hernandez. He was an Army veteran having served from 1948-1952. He worked as an ironworker with the Local 8, and was a member of the Laborers Local 1. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 771 in Gurnee, and an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
He is survived by his children, Cindy (Dirk) Skelley of Grayslake; Carol Hernandez of Grayslake; and Joe Hernandez of Antioch; his grandchildren, Brett, Brittany, and Drew Skelley of Grayslake; and Joey, Jacqueline, Christian, Jeremy, and Justin Hernandez of Antioch; his brothers, Hank (Maryjean) Hernandez of Mundelein; John (Jeanie) Hernandez of Mundelein; and his sisters, Cathy Donahue of Grayslake; Mary (Bob) Gregory of Fox Lake; Juanita (Paul) Russo of Hazelcrest; and Gloria Browne of Mundelein. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Dolores (nee Rocha) Hernandez in 1998; his daughter, Christina Hernandez in 1996; and four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral mass is at 10AM on Friday, September 19, 2003 at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation is from 4-8PM, Thursday, September 18, 2003 at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, LTD., 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Midwest Affiliate Memorial & Tributes Program, Dept. 77-3968, Chicago, IL 60678-3968.

Humberto "Bert" Hernandez
Humberto "Bert" Hernandez, 56, of Woodstock, died Sunday, September 14, 2003 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
He was born September 17, 1946 to Fortino and Consepcion (Amaro) Hernandez in Mexico.
Mr. Hernandez retired from the Army after serving our country for 20 years, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant and becoming highly decorated. He served two tours each in Korea and Germany, and also spent time in Vietnam. While in Germany he commanded an entire division, having some 600 troops underneath him. He was someone who was in tune with nature and could "read" the ground and wind, something that served him well in the service. Just prior to joining the military he was in line to be drafted by the Astros, a professional baseball team. Mr. Hernandez was a baseball lover and began his own fast-pitch business, teaching girl's baseball, affectionately known as "The Mex" by the teams he coached. He was someone who loved history, reading, westerns, Elvis, collecting pens, and anything that had to do with the military.
He is survived by his parents; son Miguel Hernandez of Arlington Heights; daughter Katrina Hernandez (Jack Bernard Jr.) of Waukegan; brother Fortino Hernandez of Palm City, FL; three sisters Chita Welch of Jupiter, FL, Dora Sicurella and Mary Huffman, both of Woodstook; grandchildren Manuel and Leiana; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. with a 3 p.m. memorial service on Thursday, September 18, 2003 at the SCHNEIDER-LEUCHT-MERWIN-COONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock. Burial in Oakland cemetery with full military honors will follow.

Donald Dean Jones
Donald Dean Jones, 72, a resident of Trevor, Wisconsin, died in Milwaukee on Friday, September 12, 2003. He was born in Tonica, IL to the late David LeRoy and Elverda E. (Phillips) Jones on November 16, 1930.
Donald honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. His distinguished military career included achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. While serving his country between 1951 and 1954 he earned the Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a life member of the V.F.W.
He served on the Lake Villa Rescue Squad for 10 years and was president from 1974-1976. Donald was employed as a senior technician in the rubber manufacturing industry for over 40 years.
Donald is survived by his loving children: Mark (Rose) Jones of Illinois, Jeff Jones of California, Donald W. Jones of Illinois, Matthew (Karen) Jones of Missouri, Tammy (Ron) Hurt of New Lisbon, WI, Diana (Mike) McKenzie of California, Kathy Nixon (Glen) of Trevor, WI. He is also survived by his sisters: Vivian (Horce) Hutchins of Michigan, Dolores Mitchell of Florida, Betty (Fred) Heindenreich of Illinois; his brother David (Judy) Jones of Virginia, 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, many other loving family and friends.
His parents, his brothers Thomas, Robert, and Rollan, and his sisters Nancy and Elverda preceded him in death.
A committal service will be held at the Southeastern Wisconsin Veterans cemetery Chapel in Union Grove on Friday, September 19, 2003 at 11:30 A.M.
Memorials to the Southeastern Wisconsin Veterans cemetery in Donald Jones' honor would be appreciated.
