Kathleen "Kitty" Malecke Thornsten, 58, of Highland Park, IL for the past ten years, formerly of Libertyville, IL passed away Saturday, March 24, 2001 in Condell Memorial Hospital, Libertyville, IL.
She was born April 28, 1942 in Chicago, IL. She was a 1960 graduate of Libertyville High School and was employed at Amadeo Ritacca in Highland Park for 16 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Kelly of Mundelein; a granddaughter, Emily; a sister, Susan (Chris) Trotti of Brandon, FL; and was the aunt of Chris, Rob and Casey Trotti.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Patricia Malecke.
Memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, March 28, 2001 in Immaculate Conception Parish, 1590 Green Bay Rd., Highland Park, IL.

James R. Tobey
James R. Tobey, 46, of Grayslake passed away Saturday, March 24, 2001 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
He was born November 26, 1954 in Chicago. Jim had made his home in Grayslake the past 16 years, formerly of Libertyville. He was employed as an electrician and was a member of Union Local #150 of Lake County and was actively involved with the Sparks Committee and was a member of Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church of Grayslake.
He leaves his loving wife, Paula (nee Dosey) whom he wed on July 16, 1994; his children, Heather, Neil, Ian and Richard; his parents, Robert (Patricia) Tobey of Tucson, AZ; a sister, Cheryl (Pete) Krueger of Bristol, WI; a brother, Robert (Jennifer) Tobey of Bristol, WI; his mother-in-law, Lois Dosey of Wisconsin Dells, WI; and in-laws, George (Bernice) Sepanik of Round Lake.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Tobey (nee Sepanik) in 1991.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10 AM at the funeral home with Pastors John Holm and Paul Galchutt co-officiating. Interment will follow at the Avon Centre cemetery in Grayslake.

Norma Gail Turner
Norma Gail Turner, 56, of Lake Villa passed away Sunday, March 25, 2001 at Lake Forest Hospital.
She was born January 28, 1945 in Hamilton, AL, the daughter of the late R. T. and Addie (Selma) Grammer. Norma was a member of the Church of the Holy Family in Lake Villa and enjoyed bible studies. Other interests included flower gardening, arts and crafts, painting and she loved to read. She was currently working as a receptionist for OMC in Waukegan and had previously worked for Charmglow in Bristol, WI and Waste Management in Grayslake. On June 27, 1986, she married
James "Art" Turner in Mantachie, MS.
Survivors include her husband, James "Art"; two daughters, Rose (Al) Smith of Round Lake, IL and Amy (Greg) Goznell of Lyndon Station, WI; a son, James (Sherri) Turner of Lake Villa; two sisters, Marion Kilroy and Barbara Bush; and six grandchildren, Terri, Brice, Josh, Jake, Chad and Danielle.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Alan Smith.
Funeral Services will be held at 7 PM Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at the Church of the Holy Family (Rte. 59 just south of Grand Ave), Lake Villa, IL with Rev. Molly Williams officiating. Interment will be on Saturday in Oak Grove cemetery, Saltillo, MS. Friends may call at the Church on Wednesday from 4 PM until time of services.

Kenneth F. Weber
Kenneth F. Weber, 75, of Lindenhurst, IL passed away at his home on Friday, March 23, 2001.
He was born in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Mabel and Frederick Weber on March 10, 1926. He married
Luella Ohlson on May 29, 1948. He was a resident of Lindenhurst since 1961 and was a charter member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Lindenhurst. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Lindenhurst VFW. He was a lithographer and a member of the Graphic Communications International Union. He was retired from the American Offset Corporation. After Retiring, he worked at Great America Theme Park in Gurnee. He was a member of the Jokers Club of Chicago and the Hawthorne Men's Club of Chicago.
He is survived by his wife, Luella; his children, Kathleen (Carl) Norlin of Lindenhurst and Keith of Lindenhurst; his grandson, Jonathan Norlin; and his sister, Audrey (late Robert) Finch of California.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Lorraine Daly.
Funeral Services will be at 6:30 PM Thursday, March 29, 2001 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1822 E. Grand Ave, Lindenhurst, IL, 60046 with Rev. Terry Breum officiating. Interment will be private at Irving Park cemetery, Chicago, IL.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3:30 to 6:30 PM at St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Anna Bell Griffin
Anna Bell Griffin, age 80, of Waukegan, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at the Provena St. Therese Medical Center, Waukegan, IL.
She was born in Brownsville, Tennessee on December 19, 1920. Mrs. Griffin was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Waukegan, IL.
She is survived by her husband, James Griffin; also several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2001 at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 800 S. Genesee Street, Waukegan, Illinois. John R. Ivinson
John R. Ivinson, 77, of Libertyville, Illinois passed away suddenly, Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at his home. He was born May 6, 1923 in Evanston, IL., where he was a 1941 graduate of Evanston High School. Following his graduation, John enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served in the European Theatre during WW II. Following the war, he became a graduate of DePaul University in Chicago and was a former 34 year employee of Abbott Laboratories. John was a member of St. Lawrence Episcopal Church in Libertyville, the Libertyville Masonic Lodge, #492 AF & AM and the Libertyville-Mundelein Men's Garden Club.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Ivinson and daughter Patricia (Joseph) Schreiber and grandchildren Kevin, Emily, Robert and Rebecca Schreiber, all of Libertyville; and 1 brother, Stanley Ivinson of Arlington Heights. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hilda Ivinson and by his daughter Karen Ivinston in 1973.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sat. March 24, 2001 at St. Lawrence Episcopal Church, 125 W. Church St. Libertyville. Interment will follow at Lakeside cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Avenue, Libertyville. Ann P. Krueger (nee Flakus)
Ann P. Krueger (nee Flakus), age 96, a Fox Lake, IL resident for 13 years, formerly of Chicago for many years died on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at her home.
She was born in Jersey City, New Jersay on July 24, 1904 to Thomas and Pauline Flakus (nee Kalinowski). She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Spring Grove and was an avid bingo player at the Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Dept. She was a former Foreman with AirGuide Corp. for over 25 years in Chicago, IL., retiring in 1973 and former member of Local Union #73 of Chicago.
She is survived by her son: Robert F. (Roberta) Krueger, Fox Lake with whom she made her home; by her grandchildren: Steven Krueger, Maryland; Sandra (Joseph) Campbell, Zion; Susan Krueger, DesPlaines. By two great-great-granddaughters: Jessica and Jennifer, by her brothers: Edward, Leo and Anthony Flakus of Chicago; by her sister: Helen Marvin, Chicago; nieces, nephews and other relatives survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Frank Krueger in 1980; by her brothers: Joseph, Peter and John; and by her sister: Katherine.

Gladys E. Ladewig
Gladys E. Ladewig, age 79, of Golden, MS., passed away March 21, 2001 at Tupelo, MS. She was born July 5, 1921 in Cicero, Illinois.
Survivors include her 3 sons: Curtiss "Cal" Ladewig of Golden, MS., Gary (Belinda) Ladewig of Waukegan and Larry Ladewig of Waukegan, 1 daughter Daisy (Bob) Orick of Arkdale, WI., and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Curtiss in 1995 and 1 daughter in law Meta Ladewig.

Marvin C. Slosser
Marvin C. Slosser, 72, of Round Lake, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at Condell Medical, Libertyville.
He was born on March 26, 1928 in Milwaukee, WI to George and Esther (nee Capito) Slosser. Marvin was a foreman at Fiat-Allis in Deerfield after retiring from Fiat-Allis he worked at Winchester House in Libertyville in the maintenance department. Mr. Slosser was a member of the American Legion, Post #1170 of Round Lake. He was also a veteran serving in the Army during the Korean War. He loved to fish and was an avid Cubs Fan.
Marvin leaves his wife Marlene (nee Grenn) of Ellentown, FL, children: James Slosser of Ingelside; Linda (Dave) Pearson of Tomahawk, WI; Carol (Scott Sondergard) Purol of Wildwood; five grandchildren; sister: Marilyn Derkson of Silver Lake, WI; brother: George (Betty) Slosser of Spring Hill, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Frederick.

Toni Sorgani
Toni Sorgani (nee Slazas), 90, of Waukegan, Illinois passed away March 22, 2001 in Waukegan.
Toni was born April 28, 1910 in Wauconda, Illinois, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ursula (nee Martin) Slazas. She resided in Chicago most of her life.
Toni is survived by a sister, Mary Laskowski of Waukegan; three nephews, Melvin Slazas of Waukegan and Gene and Richard Slazas of Clearwater, Florida; and a niece, Roseanne (Don) Pearson of Beach Park. She was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Slazas; and two sisters, Veronica Slazas and Anna (Frank) Stulginskis.
Private services will be held for the immediate family. The CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion is serving the family.
Jacqueline Stary
Jacqueline Stary, 67, of Spring Grove, IL., passed away on March 17, 2001 at St. Therese Hospital.
She was born October 13, 1933 in Chicago, IL. She was a member of Gurnee Community Church.
Surviving are her two children Sheryl (Mark) Miller; John Stary III; Seven grandchildren, Crystal, Tia, John, James II, Danielle, Jesse and Shania. A sister, Janet Lee. Also numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1997.
Jacqueline will be missed by all who know her.
A memorial service will be held at Gurnee Community Church at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 24, 2001.

Elsa Fitzgerald (nee Parker), 90, of Libertyville, Illinois formerly of Lake Forest, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at Winchester House. She was born September 16, 1910 in Lake Forest and was a lifelong resident of the Lake Forest/Libertyville area. While living in Lake Forest, Mrs. Fitzgerald was a member of St. Mary's Parish. She is presently a member of St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville.
She is survived by her sons, Peter (Shirley) of Deerfield, Gerry (Bea) of Libertyville and Jack (the late Mary June) of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, her grandchildren: Megan (Steve) Kaplan, John, Kim, Christine (Pat) Albright, Kevin, Kelly, Peggy, Mike (Dorothy), Pat (Kathy), Annie (Jim) Lyons, Mary Eileen (Adam) Tosi, and Tim, 11 great grandchildren, her brother Gerald (Virginia) Parker of Wisconsin, and her sister Rosemary (Richard) Schmandt of Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband John E "Bud" Fitzgerald in 1998.

Betty J. Eukovich
Betty J. Eukovich, 75, of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2001 in her home.
She was born October 1, 1925 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Eugene and Hazel (Sprenkle) Walser. In 1953, she married
Peter Eukovich in Peoria.
Betty owned and operated Betty's Hideaway in Ingleside for 24 years. She was also a lifetime member of the Illinois Retail Liquor Association.
Survivors include her children: Debbie (Richard Briggs) Waites of Wonder Lake, Lynn Eukovich of Round Lake Park, Sandy Krak of Round Lake, Pete Eukovich of Round Lake, and Patti (Kevin) Gerstung of Round Lake Beach; grandchildren, Melissa, Jeff, Cory, Amber, Melinda, Derek, Blaise, Sarah and Mandy; great granddaughter Claire; her sister Shirley Fritz of Peoria Heights, IL., and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Peter on November 16, 1975.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2001 at JUSTEN'S ROUND LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 222 N. Rosedale Court (at Cedar Lake Road) Round Lake, IL.
