William Arnold Stockwell, 68, of Lindenhurst, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2003 at his residence. Born September 6, 1935 the son of the late Hjalmer Stockwell and Mary Erickson. William retired from I.M.C. Global, Inc. where he was employed as an accountant.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 (noon) on Friday, September 12, 2003 at Oakridge cemetery at Roosevelt and Oakridge Rd. in Hillside. Friends may visit on Thursday, September 11, 2003 at the STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL. 60030 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
Arthur W. Boss
Arthur W. Boss, 67, of Beach Park, passed away September 8, 2004 at home from a long illness.
He is survived by his lovely wife of 24 years, Barbara; and mother-in-law, Marge; and his six children, Robert Turley, Edward (Debbie) Turley, Cathy (Rita) Turley, Howard (Susie) Boss, Mary (Jerry) Ladewig, Terri (Chico) Romero; and his 14 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur W. Boss Sr. and first wife, Rosella Boss.
He worked 20 years at Gurnee Discount Furniture and also retired from K&R; Transportation in 1999.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 13 at 10 AM at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington St., Waukegan, IL (847) 336-0127 Visitation from 5 to 8 PM on Sunday, September 12 and also on Monday, September 13 from 9 AM to 10 AM at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington St., Waukegan. Dennis C. Carter
Dennis C. Carter, age 58, of Huntsville, AL and formerly of Round Lake Beach, IL passed away September 6, 2004.
He was the loving father of Tracy (nee Carter) Albrecht, Tina Carter and Trisha Carter, grandfather of Justin and Chase Albrecht, brother to Wayne Carter, Thomas Carter, Kathleen (nee Carter) Langer and Linda (nee Carter) Kraft.
A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, September 13, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park cemetery. 33100 North Hunt Club Rd. in Libertyville, IL.

James A. Cullen, Sr.
James A. Cullen, Sr. a resident of Wildwood passed away Tuesday September 8, 2004 at his home in Wildwood at the age of 68. He was born September 23, 1935 in Chicago, IL to the late Eugene and Wanda Cullen. James was a retired veteran from the Navy where he served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars and served aboard the USS Constellation. He was a member of St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church. James is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joan Cullen, his children Michael (Dianne) Cullen, Mary (Stephen) Gindorf, and James (Laurie) Cullen, Jr., his grandchildren Michael (Elisa) Cullen, Matthew (Stephanie) Cullen, Ryne and Kyle Gindorf, and Delaney Cullen, his great-grandchildren Xavier and Elijah Cullen, and his sister Charlene (Richard) Fiedler. Frankie M. "Sketoe" Hellmuth (nee Sketoe)
Frankie M. "Sketoe" Hellmuth (nee Sketoe), 78, a resident of Leisure Village, Fox Lake, IL for the past 24 years, formerly of Chicago, IL, died Thursday, September 9, 2004 at the Fountains in Crystal Lake, IL.
She was born on January 18, 1926 in Live Oak, FL to Cornelius and Sarah (nee Croom) Sketoe, and at 17 years old had gone to the Pentagon during World War II where she was employed as a Private Secretary to a Four Star General. She later was employed as a secretary for the William Trunk Law office in Chicago, the Columbia National Bank in Chicago for 11 years and the Fox Lake State Bank for 10 years in Customer Service. She was a longtime member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Villa, IL and had been very active in the Leisure Village activities.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda S. Hellmuth of Fox Lake, IL; her sister, Florence Shults of Pine Bluff, AR; her brother-in-law, Herman Teague of Pine Bluff, AR; and her sisters-in-law, Esther Scherer and Alma Agazzi both of Joliet, IL and Lillian (Joe) Heim of Mokena, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kurt Hellmuth in 1996; by three brothers, Baseum, Clayton and Enoch Sketoe; by four sisters, Ann Sketoe, Helynn Teague, Gracie McDermott and Daisy Shutt; and by two sisters-in-law, Elsie and Hulda.
Visitations will be on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 from 9 AM to 11 AM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 25100 W. Grand Ave, Lake Villa, IL, 60046. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 AM at the church with Pastor John Zellmer officiating. Burial will follow at the Millburn cemetery, Millburn, IL.
Memorials for the American Parkinsons Disease Association, 2050 Pfingsten Rd,. Suite 127, Glenview, IL, 60026 will be appreciated by the family in lieu of flowers.

Warren E. Lauer
Warren E. Lauer, 80, of Fox Lake, IL, formerly of Wildwood for 38 years, passed away at the VA Medical Center in North Chicago on September 9, 2004. He was born on February 10, 1924 in Chicago Heights, Illinois and married
Elaine (nee Miller) in Waukegan in 1946.
Warren was a meat cutter by trade for 38 years, and retired from Cribb's Finer Foods in Waukegan in 1986.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Army, was a member of the Lake Villa VFW, and also the Wildwood Presbyterian Church. His hobbies included music, and for close to 40 years, he had his own dance band called "Lans Quartet" which played for weddings, dances and parties in Lake and Cook Counties.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; eight children, Nick (Stephanie) Lauer of Rockford, IL, Sandra Johnson of McHenry, IL, Warren (Debra) Lauer Jr. of Wonder Lake, IL, Wayne (Lori) Lauer of Austin, Texas, Glenn (Mary) Lauer of Hainseville, IL, Kurt (Kaye) Lauer of Woodbridge, VA, Laura (David) Swanson of Grayslake, IL and Matthew Lauer of Wildwood, IL; 21 grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Shook of Libertyville; and a brother, Vernon (Judy) Lauer of Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Tom, Ronald, Norman and Lester.
Funeral Services for Warren E. Lauer will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 13, 2004 from the Wildwood Presbyterian Church, 33428 North Sears Blvd, Wildwood with Rev. Greg Bostrom officiating. Interment will follow at highland Memorial Park in Libertyville.
Friends may call at the SALATA-GURNEE FUNERAL HOME, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee from 3 to 6 PM on Sunday and from 10 AM until the time of service on Monday in the church.
Robert F. Lind
Robert F. Lind, 79 of Gurnee, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2004 at the VA Medical Center in North Chicago, IL.
He was born July 18, 1925 in Chicago and on October 14, 1950 he married
Gretta (nee Gulrud) in Waukegan.
He had been a banker for 30 years having worked at Continental Bank and Merchandise Bank both in Chicago and also attended Bethel Lutheran Church in Gurnee. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War having served with the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Gurnee American Legion and a 50 year member of Gurnee VFW and the Antioch Sequoia Masonic Lodge #50.
Mr. Lind had attended the University of Illinois at Galesburg and enjoyed working on his home computer, stamp collecting, reading and movies.
Survivors include his wife, Gretta; three sons, Rodney (Elizabeth) Lind of Gurnee, Robert Scott (Mary) Lind of Zion and Curtis Lind of Kenosha, Wisconsin; one daughter, Debra (Ted) Canelakes of Fairfax, VA.; five grandchildren, Samantha and Dessie Canelakes, Kristina, Austin and Andrew Lind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Helen Lind; one brother, Ronald; and one sister, Vivian Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at The Salata-Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee. Interment will be private.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1-3 PM only.
Donations may be made in his memory to The Gurnee American Legion.
Jaclyn N. Matheson "Jackie"
Jaclyn "Jackie" N. Matheson, 18 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Wednesday September 8, 2004 from injuries received in an auto accident near Antioch.
She was born September 16, 1985 in Libertyville, IL and has lived most of her life in Lake County. Jackie graduated from Antioch High School in 2004 and has worked as a waitress at Max and Ermas at Gurnee Mills.
Survivors are her mother Patricia (Scott) Tate of Antioch, her brother Christopher (Jennifer) Matheson of Phoenix, AZ, her father John Matheson in Deleware, her maternal grandfather Carl Prymula of Russell, IL, a step sister Veronica Tate of Escanaba, MI, her step grandparents Lyman and Carol Behrens of Waukegan, IL, her uncle Charles (Robin) Prymula of Russell, IL, 2 cousins, Emily and Michael and her boyfriend Brad Anderson.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:30 PM Monday, September 13, 2004 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte 83), with visitation from 4:00 PM until the time of services.
Roger T. Pergande

Roger T. Pergande, 64, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2004 at his home in Alton, IL. He was born on May 24, 1940 in Milwaukee, WI, son of the late Clarence Henry and Marion (Snieder) Pergande. Roger was employed in the hearing and cooling field for 10 years in repairs in Antioch, IL and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by four children and their spouses, Jeff and Mary Pergande of TN, Paul and Diane Pergande of FL, Bryan and Tawni Pergande of NC and Samantha and Matt Karsten of Chicago, IL; two brothers and sister-in-law, Neal and Evie Pergande of Milwaukee, WI and Peter Pergande of Milwaukee, WI; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Thorne and Don Waro of Milwaukee, WI and Gail and Lane Wletschak of Milwaukee, WI; several grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a loving friend, Florence Piraino of Riverside, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Mark Pergande.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 13, 2004 at 1:30 PM at the St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Antioch, IL.

Mabel Amelia Saam
Mabel Amelia Saam, 93, died on March 20, 2004 in Jacksonville, Florida. Mabel was born on September 15, 1910 as Mabel Amelia Hollstein in Waukegan and lived in Waukegan most of her life. She moved to Jacksonville in 1999 when health problems made it necessary to live near her daughter.
She was a homemaker, a member of The First United Methodist Church, and enjoyed spending time at the Waukegan Township Park Place and Friendship Club.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Florence; and her husband, Chris Saam, who died in 1961.
Mabel was followed in death on July 12 by her daughter Evelyn (Robert) Carlson of San Diego, California.
Survivors include her daughter, Jeanette (Jack) McCollum, of St. Augustine, Florida; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, September 13, 2004 at The First United Methodist Church, 128 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Waukegan. Private burial is planned.
