Erna M. Rapp, 59 of Cherry Valley, died 12:30 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2001 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born November 13, 1941 in Chicago, IL. Daughter of Victor and Emily (Ziesler) Rockel. Lived six years in Rockford, coming here from Hampshire, IL. married to Richard Rapp in Pistakie Highlands McHenry Co. on March 4, 1961. Worked as a medical claims examiner for Claims Resource Service Center for five years.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; children, Michael, Daniel and Patrick (Kathy) Rapp, all of Belvidere, Katherine (Kenneth) Scott of Clanton, AL, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Rapp of Capron; grandchildren, Timothy John, Jeremy, Christopher, Carl, Anthony, Alex, Amanda, Kayle, John Kenneth, Ryan, Justin, Kaitlyn, and Devin. Soon to have a great-grandchild. Sister, Roselyn Bagley of Hampshire, IL and brother, Donald Rockel of Dixon, CA.
Predeceased by parents.
Services will be 2 P.M. Monday, September 10, 2001 at Fitzgerald & Associates, Mulford Chapel. Burial will be private. Visitation will be 1 P.M. until time of service. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Marianne "Mimi" Sachen
Marianne "Mimi" Sachen, nee Grossman, 84, of Lindenhurst, Illinois, formerly of Waukegan, passed away on September 5, 2001 at the Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center.
She was born on October 6, 1916 in Vienna, Austria and came to Waukegan in the early 1940's. She was a lab technician with her own business in the old Walgreen Building in downtown Waukegan for many years. Later, she was a bridge teacher and ran a bridge club in Waukegan with her husband Bill. She was a life master, life member and master teacher of the American Contract Bridge League. She was also a member and master teacher of the American Bridge Teachers Association. She was also an avid card collector and a member of the Chicago Playing Card Collectors and 52 Plus Joker.
She is survived by her loving husband, William "Bill" Sachen.
Visitation will be at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1840 E. Grand Avenue, Lindenhurst on Tuesday, September 11, 2001 from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. with funeral services beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
Jeremy Shepard
Jeremy Shepard, 15, of Beach Park, Illinois died suddenly and unexpectedly on September 5, 2001 in Zion.
Jeremy was born May 28, 1986 in Waukegan to Douglas and Mary Shepard. He was a sophomore at Zion-Benton Township High School and played on the soccer team. He was a member of Trinity United Lutheran Church in Waukegan.
Jeremy is also survived by a sister, Tera (Scott) Blauwkamp of Hedgesville, West Virginia; a brother, Eric (Tracy) Shepard of Littleton, Colorado; and a grandmother, Lenore Liscom of Linden, Michigan.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 10, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity United Lutheran Church, 658 Grand Avenue, Waukegan with Pastor Dennis Kelly officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5 to 8 P.M. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Memorials to Trinity United Lutheran Church for a special defibrillator fund would be appreciated in his memory.
Florence Mae Yundt
Florence Mae Yundt, 80, of Riviera Beach, Florida died peacefully on Tuesday, August 21, 2001 at Chatsworth Rehabilitation Center, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Florence was born May 1, 1921 in Osnabrock, North Dakota to Lars and Julia Wedwick. She married
Aaron A. Yundt in Chicago, IL. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron and brothers, Clemens, Elmer, Arthur and Lloyd. Florence was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She was cherished by all. "Grama Sweetie" always had a smile and a cheerful attitude towards everyone. Florence was very strong in her faith and very involved for many years in the Lutheran Church. She was a 38 year Gold Star member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #867, Mundelein, Illinois. She took great pride in being a Foster Grandparent in Florida, and was a very enthusiastic salesperson, everything from Avon to Tupperware to Herbalife. She worked for 15 years at Western Union, Chicago. Florence had a real zest for life.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her three children, Lawrence L. Yundt and wife Elaine of Jupiter, Florida, Mary Heidenreich of West Palm Beach, FL and Martin Yundt and wife Lyn of Mundelein, IL; her ten grandchildren, Kristy, Jill, Bill, Katie, Amanda, Andrew, Michael, Justin, Krystina and Jonathan; a great granddaughter, Alana; and two sisters, Esther Hattenback of Sioux City, Iowa and Agnes Hurst of Flint, Michigan.
Visitation was held Friday, August 24 at Thomas L. Price Funeral Home, North Palm Beach. A memorial Service was held on Saturday, August 25 at Nativity Lutheran Church, Palm Beach Gardens. Burial and graveside Services were held on Saturday, September 1 at St. John's Catholic cemetery, Independence, Iowa.
Florence M. Zagorski
Florence M. Zagorski, 79, of Antioch, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2001 at Victory Memorial Hospital, Waukegan, IL. She was born February 1, 1922 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Nels Anton and Dagmar M. (Hultman) Matson.
She moved to Lake Villa in 1949 and later to Antioch in 1995. Florence worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for Lakeland Publishers in Grayslake, IL. She was a member of the Bears of Lake County and loved to knit and crochet. On October 9, 1943, she married
Richard Zagorski in Chicago and he preceded her in death on July 3, 1990.
Survivors include a son, Richard (Julie) of Antioch; a daughter, Karen (Tom) Geborek of Grayslake; and seven grandchildren, James, Russel, Matthew and Elizabeth Zagorski and Christopher, Matthew and Michelle Geborek.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, Keith and Kevin; a brother, Norman Matson; and a sister, Mildred H. Matson.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Monday, September 10, 2001 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83). Interment will be at 12 Noon in Mt. Emblem cemetery, Elmhurst, IL. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 until 8 PM Sunday.
John M. Miholic
John M. Miholic, 79, of Waukegan, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2003 at Victory Memorial Hospital. He was born April 9, 1924 in North Chicago and was a member of St. Dismas Church in Waukegan. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Air Force on active duty and also with the Reserves retiring as a Major. He was also a policeman with the Illinois State Police for more than 20 years and the former 8th Ward Alderman for the City of Waukegan. John was a member of St. Dismas Men's Club, Knights of Columbus, Fraternal Order of Police Troopers Lodge #41, KSKJ St. Joseph Lodge #53, Elks Lodge, Waukegan American-Croation Cultural Center, and a former member of the Waukegan American Legion Homer Dahringer Post 281. His hobbies included playing golf where he was currently "starter" at Orchard Hills Golf Course in Waukegan and also enjoyed playing cribbage.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jane; three children, Jean (Don) Bishop of Manchaca, TX, James Miholic of Waukegan, and Janet Miholic of Mundelein; five grandchildren, John Fleming, Don R. Bishop, Brittany Bishop, Cody Bishop, and Robyn Paulson; a great grandchild Dylan Bishop; a brother, Matthew (Dorothy) Miholic of Lake Bluff; three sisters, Marianne Schuessler, Barbara Jurcin and Therese Loquidis; brothers-in-law Earl Laube and Ray Dorman; sisters-in-law Gertrude and Jeanette Miholic; as well as many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Agatha (Penich) Miholic; three brothers, Joseph, Stanley and Michael Miholic; five sisters, Vinca Pucin, Joan Rehbein, Caroline Truby, Angela Laube and Anne Dorman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2003 at St. Dismas Church, 2600 Sunset Ave., Waukegan. Burial will be at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation is from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF WAUKEGAN, 1521 Washington St. and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Eugene A. Perschke
Eugene A. Perschke, 87, of Lake Bluff, passed away September 4, 2003 at home. He was born November 19, 1915 in Phillips, WI. He retired from U.S. Steel Wire Mill after 31 years of service. He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran and served in North Africa and Sicily before being wounded.
Survived by three sisters, Mable Marsh, Dorothy Webb and Bernice Davis, two brothers, Alvin (Eunice) Perschke and Oliver (Joyce) Perschke, many nieces and nephews, grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
Preceded by three sisters Emily Murray, Eva Lyons, Helen Hemphill and two brothers, Robert and Louis Perschke and his parents.

Charlesetta Poole
Charlesetta Poole, 78, departed this life on Friday, September 5, 2003 at her home in Gurnee, IL, which she shared with her oldest daughter and late husband.
She was born January 31, 1925 in Florence, AL. She was united in holy matrimony to Robert L. Poole Sr. in 1941 and born to Nathaniel Key Sr. and Viola Key of Florence, AL.
She joined Philipian Baptist in the 1950's and was an usher and member of the choir. She was also a volunteer for the elderly. Mr. and Mrs. Poole were members of the NAACP and participated in the Feed the Children Foundation for several years.
Survivors left to cherish her memories are daughters Sandra J. Lester of Gurnee, IL, Glenda F. Smith of Columbus, OH and one son Robert L. Poole Jr. also of Columbus, OH; one son-in-law, Alvin E. Perkins of Gurnee, IL, nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Eddie Mae Roy, Mrs. Annie B. Smith, Mrs. Willie (Robert) Turner, Mrs. Sadie Bell (William) Brewer, all of Florence, AL, Mrs. Evelyn (Thomas) Reynolds of Gurnee, IL and one brother Nathaniel (Geneva) Key Jr. of Waukegan, IL, one aunt Mrs. Grace Simpson, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Poole Sr. and daughter Patricia Ann Perkins.

Eugene A. Prorok
Eugene A. Prorok, age 82, a resident of Round Lake for the past 46 years, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2003 in Libertyville, IL. Born August 11, 1921 in Chicago to the late Stephen and Bernice (nee Kostanski) Prorok. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 as a Corporal in the Military Police, and worked as a machinist for International Harvester in Melrose Park, IL for 33 years. Eugene was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Round Lake.
He is survived by his loving wife Martha (nee Jaskot) whom he married
on June 5, 1949 in Chicago. His sons James (Judi) of Lindenhurst, Richard (Carole Tafoya) of North Glen, CO, and Donald (Vallie) of Baltimore, OH; his daughters Annette (Randy) Foster of Minneola, KS, Christine (Kenneth) Magnus of Vernon Hills, Jean (Ron Makarewicz) Finney of Round Lake, and Sharon (Steve) Schwarz of Round Lake. His grandchildren, Jaime, Jeff, Nicole, and Bryan Prorok, Joshua Foster, Corrie and Erik Magnus, and Christopher and Adam Finney, Kelly, James, Sarah, Kim, Krissy, and Steve Schwarz. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his son John (in infancy), and his sisters Helen (Dominic) Nogowski and Sophie (Harold) Olsen.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 114 N. Lincoln Ave., Round Lake, IL 60073. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. James Dale Strickland
James Dale Strickland, age 71, was born on May 24, 1932 in Atoka, OK to James and Lucille Strickland and went home to be with Jesus on September 7, 2003. He served in Korea from May 1950-1952 with the 45th Infantry MP Company. Upon his return he courted and married
Agatha Cox on November 7, 1952. They were married
more than 50 years and had six children: Debra F. (William) Kolb of Zion; Bert Strickland of Kingfisher, OK; D. Michael (Danette) Strickland of Kenosha; Robert R. (Patricia) Strickland of Zion, Jennette K. (Brian) Hughes of Haslett, MI; and Lauri G. (Scott) Pickos of Kenosha. He served as deacon for many years at Zion Second Baptist Church. Helping to construct a new parsonage and build a thriving bus ministry were only some of his contributions. He sang bass in the church choir and instilled a love of music and of the Lord in his family. He was a member of the Local 150 - International Union of Operating Engineers for 40 years and received his lifetime membership pin.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, children, his sister Francille Leazer of Del City, OK, relatives and a host of friends. His 22 grandchildren: Laura (Tarek) Orabi, Tonya (Grant) Stillwood, Kimberly (Beau) Brewton, Kelly Kolb; Jeremy, Jaryd, Cody, Holly, Hannah, and Madisyn Strickland, James (Tiffany) Strickland, Janine Strickland, Danielle, Alex, Kathryn and Nataleigh Hughes; Marlene, Jonathan, Riely, and Carly Pickos.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Lucille Strickland, his in-laws Herbert and Olga Cox, one sister Wilma (Leon) Stewart, and his granddaughter Andrea Leigh Hughes. He is eternally loved and missed.

Earl Edward Tate, Jr., 63, of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Waukegan, passed away suddenly at his home on September 4, 2003. He was born on November 8, 1939 in Alcoa, TN.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Fannie; mother Dollie Walker; daughter Dee Dee (Cleveland) Harville; brother Sherman (Loretta) Tate; three step children Shirley, George, and Margaret, all of Georgia; four grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; two special friends Allan Joshua and Lindsey Jr.; and a host of other friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Earl Edward Sr.; his sister Sylvia J. Beidleman; four aunts; and two nephews.

Marcia E. Wilhelm
Marcia E. Wilhelm, 57, of Vernon Hills, passed away Friday, September 5, 2003 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She was born April 4, 1946 in Chicago and was a former 22 year resident of Mundelein. Marcia attended mass at Marytown and St. Joseph Church in Libertyville. She was a former employee of Boehm & Ray Insurance Agency in Libertyville and Fair Haven Pharmacy in Mundelein.
Surviving are five children: Theresa (Rodolfo) Ruiz-Velasco of Lake Villa, Frederick C. Wilhelm of Chicago, Traci (Randy Anderson) Wilhelm of Denver, CO, Tricia (Michael Curran) Wilhelm and Timothy Wilhelm, both of Vernon Hills, and her grandson, Rodolfo. She was preceded in death by her husband Frederick D. Wilhelm on January 11, 1997.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 9 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville. Interment will follow at Lakeside cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
