Felipe O. Hinojosa
Felipe O. Hinojosa, 70, of Waukegan, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at St. Therese Medical Center. He was born August 21, 1932 in Los Herreras, N.C. Mexico and was a member of St. Joseph Church.
Survivors include his loving wife Margarita Hinojosa whom he wed on February 22, 1952; 11 children, Felipe Hinojosa Jr., Rita (Jaime) Enriquez, Margarita (Jose Luis) Ponce, Jose Guadalupe (Bertha) Hinojosa, Roberto Hinojosa, Ramiro (Jackie) Hinojosa, Zoila Sosa, Ernesto (Margaret) Hinojosa, Oziel (Colleen) Hinojosa, Hector (Rachel) Hinojosa, Cristina (Fernando) Perez; 34 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 4 brothers Horacio (Juanita) Hinojosa of Waukegan, Ernesto (Delia) Hinojosa of Texas, Claudio (Viviana) Hinojosa and Gustavo Hinojosa of Mexico; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Felipe and Rita Hinojosa and 2 brothers, Aristeo and Ursino.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2002 at Holy Family Church, 450 Keller Ave., Waukegan, with Father Gary Graff officiating. Burial will be at Ascension cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington St., Waukegan.

Lillian A. Johnston
Lillian A. Johnston, 87, of Waukegan passed away on Wednesday September 4, 2002 at Victory Memorial Hospital. She was born September 8, 1914 in Waukegan and remained a lifelong resident. She was the beloved wife of Robert Johnston who passed away in 1967.
She is survived by her son, William "Biddy" Johnston (Diane); and her grandchildren, Kimberly (Russ) Garrett, Tina Johnston, Robert (Melissa) Johnston and William Johnston; also by 10 great grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
Friends may call at PETERSON-PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan on Saturday from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Donations in Lillian's memory may be made to Vista Star Hospice, 2615 Washington St., Waukegan, IL 60085.

J. Norman Lindahl
J. Norman Lindahl, 94, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin died on Thursday, September 5, 2002 at Kenosha Care Center.
He was born March 10, 1908 in Kenosha and resided in Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie all of his life. He worked at various jobs in the area, retiring in 1970 and he attended North Prairie United Methodist Church in Winthrop Harbor. He was also a member of the Kenosha Masonic Lodge, was a charter member of the Kenosha Country Conservation Club and he was a avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include two sons, Keith (Karen) Lindahl of Kenosha and Greg Lindahl of Lyons, CO; three grandchildren, Neal (Kimberly) Lindahl, Christine (Mark) Ball and Keith Lindahl; four great grandchildren Mark, Justin, Danny and David; and a brother Ralph (Gerri) Lindahl of Canon City, CO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ester on April 23, 2002 and by his parents John and Stella Lindahl.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at North Prairie United Methodist Church, 5000 W. 9th Street, Winthrop Harbor with Pastor Gary Hougen officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale cemetery, Newport Township, Zion, Illinois. Visitation will be Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at North Prairie United Methodist Church. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association have been suggested. Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, in charge of arrangements.

Brian Scott Ludlow
Brian Ludlow, 23, of Antioch, IL, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2002 at Condell Hospital in Libertyville. He was born July 19, 1979 in Waukegan, IL.
He worked as a waiter at TGI Fridays.
He is survived by his parents, Karen (Ronald) Zaylik of Antioch, IL and his father, Ronald Ludlow of Kenosha, WI; one brother, Thomas Ludlow of Highland Park, IL; uncle, Terry (Marge) Neff of Grayslake, IL.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 PM Friday, September 6, 2002 at the Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 cemetery Rd. and also on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements entrusted to Marsh Funeral Home, 305 cemetery Rd., Gurnee.

Florence Poirier
Florence Poirier, 84, of Grayslake, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at Libertyville Manor. She was born December 24, 1917 and was a member of St. Gilbert Church.
Survivors include her son David (Dawne) Poirier; 4 brothers and sisters, Clem Blong of Cedar Rapids, IA, Rose Blong of Cedar Rapids, IA, Viola Schmelzer of Appleton, WI and Irvin (Marie) Blong; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel in 1996 and her parents Clemence and Elizabeth Blong.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2002 at St. Gilbert Church in Grayslake. Burial will be at Ascension cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2002 and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd.

C. LeRoy Swanson
C. LeRoy Swanson, 89, of Waukegan, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2002 at the VA Medical Center in North Chicago. He was born June 28, 1913 in Waukegan and was a member of the First Christian Church. He had worked for the Chicago North Shore Railroad for 12 years and then went to work for the North Shore Sanitary District, retiring in 1984. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma; 1 son, Kenneth (Laura) Swanson; 2 grandchildren Magnus and Annika; 1 sister-in-law Dorothy Swanson, and 2 nephews, Richard L. and Roger Swanson, all of Manitowoc, WI. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard H. Swanson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2002 at First Christian Church, 6080 Gages Lake Rd., Gurnee. Burial will be at North Shore Garden of Memories. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd. Memorials may be given to First Christian Church Memorial Fund.

Patricia Marie Chong
Patricia Marie Chong, 54, of Waukegan passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at her home.
She was born August 30, 1950 in Waukegan and has been a lifelong area resident.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Corey (Jon) Cashmore; grandson, Zachary Saulmon all of Wadsworth; son, Keith; parents, Jeanne (Harry T.) Andersen of Waukegan, Richard Bonner of Indiana; brothers and sisters, Shirley (Russ) Maples of Indiana, Judy Mantell of Indiana, Emmie (Tim) Hughes of Winthrop Harbor, Fred (Gerri) Bonner of Frankfort, IL and Ricky (Kathy) Bonner of Grafton, IL.
She if also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Monday, September 6, 2004 at Peterson & Patch Funeral Home 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 PM to time of service.

Mary Elizabeth Hewlett (nee Duncan)
Mary Elizabeth Hewlett, Age 89, passed away suddenly September 4, 2004 in Eureka, IL. A long time resident of Romeoville, formerly of Waukegan. Member of Romeoville Golden Ager's.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara (Greg) Setzer and Anita Miller. Fond sister of Edna Marie Provanzano. Devoted grandmother of Tracey (Brian) Zale, Rockney (Jill) Hudson, Bambi (Tony) Ponzi, Tammy (Don) Ayers, Carri (Mark) Link, Melaine (James) Navarro, and Charles Miller. Great-grandmother of 14, also an aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard H. Hewlett; her parents, Clementine and Sarah Jane Duncan; also three brothers, William, Charles and Art Duncan.
Visitation Monday 3-8 PM at the ANDERSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 606 Townhall Dr. in Romeoville. Graveside Services Tuesday, September 7, 2004 12:00 Noon at Millburn cemetery in Millburn, IL.

Mary E. Lapapa
Mary E. Lapapa, 87, of Waukegan passed away on Friday, September 3, 2004 at victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan. She was born February 12, 1917 in Ashland, Wisconsin and has been a Waukegan resident for 65 years. Mary was a member of St. Dismas Church, St. Dismas Women's Club, The Sweet Adelines and was a self-employed Beautician in Waukegan for over 25 years.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Frank Lapapa; children, Vince Lapapa of Waukegan and Donna (Tim) Levandoski of Waukegan; grandchildren, Cindy Levandoski of Waukegan, Kristen Levandoski of Gurnee, John (Maggie) Levandoski of Newport Beach, CA and Tim (Carin) Levandoski of Chicago. Mary is also survived by her great grandchildren, Alyssa and Bianca Levandoski-Torres of Gurnee; sister, Jean Tenuta of Jensen Beach, FL; many nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, Geraldine Williams and Theresa Chichon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bertha (nee Andersen) Olson; and brothers, Edward, John and Robert Olson.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at St. Dismas Church, 2226 McAree Rd., Waukegan with Fr. John Ryan officiating. Entombment will be at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Friends may call at the church from 9 AM until time of Mass on Wednesday. Andrew Lee Lauritzen, born August 19, 2004 at Evanston Northwestern Hospital, passed away August 20, 2004.
Survived by his parents, Geoffrey and Dara Lauritzen; his twin sister, Keira Elizabeth Lauritzen; his grandparents, Donald, Sr. and Elaine Lauritzen of Round Lake Park, IL., and Daniel and Diane Etten of Wauconda, IL.

Francisco B. Lopez
Francisco B. Lopez, 95, of Waukegan passed away on Friday, September 3, 2004 at home. He was born October 4, 1910 in Mexico and has been a resident of Waukegan for 12 years. Francisco was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Onesima Lopez; children, Salustio Lopez, Tomas (Maria C.) Lopez and Maria Luisa (Juan) Barrera all of Waukegan; 21 grandchildren; and 41 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Constantina Lopez and Tayde Hernandez; a brother, Eubsevio Hernandez; and many nieces and nephews, all of Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Hernandez and Irene Lopez.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at the First Baptist Church, 401 N. Genesee St., Waukegan from 6 to 9 PM. Interment will be in Mexico.

Barbara Schultze
Barbara Schultze, 81, a Lake Bluff, IL resident for the past three years, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2004 at the Pebblebrook Healthcare Center in Lake Bluff. She was born November 28, 1922 in Waltham, MA, was a former resident of Lexington, Sudbury and Newton, MA, retiring to Safety Harbor, FL for 18 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sudbury and a former employee of Sears Roebuck and Company.
Surviving are two sons, Douglas (Diane) Schultze of Gurnee and Richard (Barbara) Schultze of South Grafton, MA; two grandchildren, Deirdre and Lori Ann Schultze; three great grandchildren, Nicholas, Christian and America Lynn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Lena Lenzi; by her husband, Alfred on January 21, 2003; and by a sister, Pauline; and brother,Phillip.
Services will be held at 7 PM Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave (Rt. 176), Libertyville. Interment will be on Thursday at the Lakeside cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday.
