Louis Ray Fleeks
Louis Ray Fleeks, age 76, of North Chicago, Illinois passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2002 at the Vista Health St. Therese Medical Center, Waukegan, IL.
He was born February 13, 1926 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Abe and Elizabeth Fleeks. The family moved from Texas to Michigan during the great migration. After completing high school in Battle Creek, Michigan Ray joined the U.S. Navy. During his tenure with the Navy Ray traveled across the world. Once discharged from the Navy, Ray went into business with his father and opened a garbage disposal company. Fleeks and Son provided fantastic service to the residents of Battle Creek, Michigan for years and years. Ray retired from this business. Ray prided himself with his cars and motorcycles. Ray became an avid biker being a member of various clubs. Ray traveled all over America with his motorcycle clubs. Ray's association with his motorcycle clubs brought joy and fulfillment to his life.
Ray is survived by his sister, Lorene Morris; a son, Eric Michael Fleeks; a grandson, Anthony Jerome Fleeks, Jr. and other family members and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Louis Ray Fleeks, Jr. and Anthony Jerome Fleeks.

Benjamin Cloyce Funderburk
Benjamin Cloyce Funderburk, 86, of Winthrop Harbor passed away on Friday, August 30, 2002, peacefully, at Midwestern Regional Medical Center, Zion.
He was born October 10, 1915 in Red Bay, Alabama, the son of the late Clem and Venie Funderburk. He was united in marriage to Charlie Mae Works on April 6, 1934, celebrating 68 years of marriage. He was employed by Reynolds Co. in Sheffield, Alabama, moving to Zion in 1950 and later to Winthrop Harbor in 1973. He worked for Johns-Manville for 21 years and was a partner in Funderburk Builders for many years until his retirement. He attended First Baptist Church in Winthrop Harbor.
He is survived by his wife; two children, Nellie (Donald "Ozzie") Osborne of Winthrop Harbor and Jimmy (Wendi) Funderburk of Wadsworth; five grandchildren, Deborah Cagle, Jane Bautiste, April (Ronald) Kaiser, Lorrie Funderburk and Jamie (Aixa) Funderburk; five great grandchildren; a sister, Raider Trulove of Red Bay, Alabama; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters, Clete Funderburk, Ruth Cleveland, Clyce Funderburk, Ripple Maxey, Robbie Maxie and Cecil Funderburk.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2002 at 11 AM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion with Pastor Michael Brown of First Baptist Church officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
Brian Scott Ludlow
Brian Ludlow, 23, of Antioch, IL, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2002 at Condell Hospital in Libertyville. He was born July 19, 1979 in Waukegan, IL.
He worked as a waiter at TGI Fridays.
He is survived by his parents, Karen (Ronald) Zaylik of Antioch, IL and his father, Ronald Ludlow of Kenosha, WI; one brother, Thomas Ludlow of Highland Park, IL; uncle, Terry (Marge) Neff of Grayslake, IL.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. Friends may call from 5:00 to 9:00 PM Friday, September 6, 2002 at the Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 cemetery Rd. and also on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Walter "Pops" Schapals
Walter "Pops" Schapals, 81, of Waukegan died on Sunday, September 1, 2002 at Lake Forest Hospital.
He was born August 1, 1921 in Racine, Wisconsin and attended St. Bartholomew School in North Chicago.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Ruth; children Walter (Martha) Schapals Jr. of McHenry, Terry (Wally) Dick, Arthur Lee Parks, Harold Parks, Rick (Moe) Parks, Ruth (James) Parks-Robertson and Tammy (Sam) Guardino all of Waukegan and Robert (Kim) Parks of Beach Park; twenty two grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one brother Stanley Schapals of Waukegan; and one sister Helen Keskes of Waukegan. He was preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Mary Schapals.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion with Pastor Michael Brown of First Baptist Church of Winthrop Harbor officiating. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Memorial donations in his name to First Baptist Church, 3001 9th Street, Winthrop Harbor have been suggested.
Norman A. Schreiber
Norman A. Schreiber, 80 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Monday September 2, 2002 at Victory Memorial Hospital, Waukegan, IL. He was born December 14, 1921 in Blue Island, IL the son of the late August and Marie (Schultz) Schreiber moving to Antioch in 1954. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WW II and was a retired carpenter. Before his retirement he worked for the Pickus Construction Company in Waukegan, IL and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #250. On June 26, 1954 he married
Patricia Waehner in Waukegan and she preceded him in death on February 26, 1993.
Survivors include his son Douglas (Karen) Schreiber of Antioch, 3 daughters, Susan Clarke of Wilmot, WI and Cindy (Charles) Ladin and Lynn (Neal) Pringle both of Antioch, 2 sisters, Lauretta Smith of Antioch and Doris (Herb) Swanson of Oak Forest, IL, one brother Ray Schreiber of Blue Island, IL, six grandchildren, Nicole, Jennifer, Patricia, Stephanie, Kelsey and Alex.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 7, 2002 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St., (Rte 83). Interment will be in Mt. Carmel cemetery, Antioch. Patricia M. Vioski
Age 73. Wife, mother and homemaker. died Tuesday, August 27, 2002 peacefully at her residence in Bellview, FL. A native of Waukegan, IL, she and her husband, Joseph moved to Bellview, FL in March 1989.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joseph; sons, Frank (Tammy) Vioski of Winthrop Harbor, IL and Kenneth Vioski of Union Grove, WI; grandchildren, Michael and Katie Vioski.
Memorial services will be held at Our Lady of Humility Church, Beach Park, IL on Friday, September 6, at 10 a.m.
She was dearly loved by all who knew her.
Ljubinka Antonic
Ljubinka Antonic, 70, of Libertyville, passed away suddenly Thursday, August 28, 2003 while on vacation in Serbia. She was born March 14, 1933 in Serbia and came to live in the United States in Waukegan in 1974. Mrs. Antonic lived in Libertyville for the past 14 years and enjoyed spending winters in Northport, Florida. She was a former 20 year employee of Abbott Laboratories.
Surviving are three daughters, Slobodonka (Nenad) Antonic-Gavrilovic of Libertyville, Ljiljana (Mirodrag) Milovanovic of Lake Forest and Snezana (Goran) Matic of Grayslake; four grandchildren, Aleksandar, Jovan, Marko and Maja; three brothers and two sisters living in Serbia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dobrosav Antonic on July 27, 1998.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2003 at the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Monastery in Libertyville. Interment will follow in the monastery cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. RT176, Libertyville.
William Cramer
William Cramer, 54, of Mundelein, died September 2, 2003 at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Bill was born April 6, 1949 in Milwaukee and had lived in Mundelein for the past 22 years. He and his wife Marjorie (nee Mack) were the co-owners of Libertyville Montessori School. Bill was a member of H.O.G. of Kenosha and was a businessman with businesses located in South Carolina. He was a member of St. Mary of Vernon Parish and had served as a Group Road Captain for Harley Davidson Road Trips.
Other survivors include his daughter Meggie of Carmel High School; his brothers Eugene (Annette Gagnon) Cramer of Milwaukee, and Thomas (Margaret McCarthy) Cramer of Evanston; and his mother Marie Cramer of Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by his father Eugene.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday September 6 from MCMURROUGH CHAPEL, 101 Park Place, Libertyville, to St. Mary of Vernon Church, Indian Creek, for funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Ascension cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. If desired memorial donations are requested to the American Cancer Society.
Vojislav Djenadic
Vojislav Djenadic, 68, of Lombard, IL., passed away suddenly Saturday, August 30, 2003 while visiting in Sremcica, Serbia. He was born December 29, 1934 in Ratkovac, Serbia and came to live in the United States in 1964. He was a former resident of Hillside, IL. and Belgrade, Serbia, living in Lombard for the past 4 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Serbian Orthodox Church in Bellwood and a retired employee of the International Harvester-Navistar Corporation in Melrose Park.
Surviving are two sons, Aleksandar (Dana) Djenadic of Lindenhurst and Nikola Djenadic of Lombard; two grandchildren, Maja and Dejan; and his brother, Slavko Djenadic of Cicero.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Milka on August 24, 2002; and by his sister, Dobrila.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2003 at The Most Holy Mother of God Serbian Orthodox Monastery in Third Lake. Interment will be in the monastery cemetery. Tina L. Gaggioli
Tina L. Gaggioli, new Mordini, age 92, of Highwood passed away Thursday, September 4, 2003 at the Froedtert Memorial Hospital, Milwaukee, WI. She was born March 23, 1911 in Centralia, Illinois and has been a resident of Highwood for over 75 years. She was a retired 38 year telephone operator with Illinois Bell Telephone Co.
Survivors include one son, Richard (Anita) Gaggioli of East Troy, Wisconsin and a daughter, Marlene (James) Borovka of Libertyville; nine grandchildren, Catherine (Patrick) Senftle of Montgomery Village, MD, Michael (Phyllis) Gaggioli of Greenfield, WI, Daniel (Breda) Gaggioli of Brookfield, WI, Edward (Chrissie) Gaggioli of Milwaukee, WI, Mary (John) Gentile of Milwaukee, WI and Christopher (Sharon) Borovka of Grayslake; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Brune Lopiano of Highwood and Hilda Elliott of Waukegan; a sister-in-law, Ann Mordini of Highwood.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gustavo on January 17, 1990; a sister, Angelina (Lidio) Bernardini and a brother, Ben Mordini.
Friends may call on Saturday, September 6, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. at the Saint James Church, 134 North Avenue, Highwood. Ludwig J. Gornick
Ludwig J. Gornick, 80, of Zion died on Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at Terrace North Nursing Home in Zion.
He was born July 7, 1923 in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. He served with the Domebronce which were allies to the American Military. In June of 1949 he married
Mary Kajfez in Austria and they immigrated to America. His employment included Deep Freeze, S&C; Electric Co. and Cook County Sheriff's office. He was a 25 year veteran of the Cook County Sheriff's office, retiring as a Deputy Sheriff Bailiff. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police (FOP).
Survivors include his children Mary Carmody of Wadsworth, Robert (Diana) Gornik of Zion, Raymond (Kathy) Gornick of Beach Park and Andriane (Jay) Rice of Flag Pond, Tennessee; seven grandchildren Nicholaus and Justin Carmody, Jennifer, Lisa and Jessica Gornik, and Faith and Matthew Rice; one great-granddaughter Alexis Carmody; and brothers and sisters Toncka, Mici, Joze and Lado all of Slovenia; and his devoted companion Phanee Navachira. He was preceded in death in 1999 by his wife Mary, brothers and sister Rozie, Tone and Janez and his parents Janez and Marija Gornik.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Pauline B. Guill, age 64, of Great Lakes, Illinois passed away on Tuesday September 2, 2003 at the Great Lakes Naval Hospital. Born November 10, 1939 in Kentucky she has resided at Great Lakes for over one year.
Survivors include one son Tracy Guill of Berlin, Germany and one daughter Susan M. Liebig of Great Lakes. Two grandchildren Philip and Virginia Guill of Germany.

Herbert (Herbie) Milton Montgomery
Herbert (Herbie) Milton Montgomery, age 69 of Waukegan, Illinois was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at Provena Saint Therese Medical Center in Waukegan, IL. Herbert was born July 23, 1934 in Waukegan, IL. He was baptized at an early age by the late Rev W.D. Kilgore. He relocated for a few years and upon returning he reinstated his membership at Mt. Sinai Institutional Baptist Church under the late Rev. Louis Gilbert Sr. Herbert attended Sunday school and was a member of the Men's choir until his health began to fail.
He is survived by one devoted, loving and caring sister, Ms. Dolores (Montgomery) North, North Chicago, Il; one aunt, Mrs. Byrdelee Bobo, North Chicago, IL; one sister-in-law Mrs. Polly Montgomery, North Chicago, IL and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paris and Gladys Montgomery; two brothers, LeRoy and Percy Montgomery and one sister, Loretta Charles.
