Willie M. Grainger
Willie M. Grainger, 53, of Grayslake, IL, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2002 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, North Carolina. He was the founder and owner of GCS Construction of Grayslake and was a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local #839. An avid golfer, he enjoyed his membership at Brae Loch Golf Course of Grayslake. He was best known as a devoted husband and father.
He leaves his loving wife Penelope (nee: Burgess) Grainger whom he wed on October 1, 1969 in Chicago, IL, his beloved children Kelly Grainger and Amanda (Tony) McKnight. He is also survived by his dear mother, Julia Grainger, his brothers and sisters James, Daniel, Danny Ray, Reggie, Glenda, Marva and Renee. Numerous nieces and nephews, and his mother-in-law, Grace Burgess, also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward M. Grainger, his brother, Timothy L., and two sisters, Vickie and Patricia.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, September 6, 2002 at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, Illinois 60030. Reverend Lisle J. Kauffman of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Round Lake will be officiant. Interment will be at Avon Centre cemetery in Grayslake, immediately following the service. Friends of the family are invited to gather at the funeral chapel from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 5, 2002. Funeral information (847) 223-8122. Francis R. Hamelitz
Francis R. Hamelitz, 85, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2002 at the Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center in Fort Myers. He was born January 26, 1917 in Bartlett, IL and was a former Lake County resident, wintering in Florida since 1986. Fran was the co-owner of M and H Builders in Grayslake, a resident of McHenry for many years and a member of the McHenry Country Club.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly Hamelitz of Fort Myers; his daughter, Carol Jean (Keith) Peters of Hackensack, MN; and brother, Leonard (Ausencia) Hamelitz of Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nora on November 4, 1983; and by his brothers, Raymond and Wilfred.
Funeral Services will be held at Noon, Thursday, September 5 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176), Libertyville with the Rev. James D. Christensen officiating. Entombment will follow at Ascension cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in his memory.

Patrick J. LaSorba
Patrick J. LaSorba, 77, of Grayslake, passed away Monday, September 2, 2002 in Lake Forest. He was born July 10, 1925 in Italy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having enlisted at the age of 17 and served during World War II. He was the Past Commander of the VFW Post 7981 in North Chicago. He retired in 1987 from IT&T; Bell and Gossett as a Machinist after 36 years of employment.
Survivors include a daughter Marie (Bert) Beshel of Grayslake; 2 granddaughters Stacey (Steve) Sticklin and Danille Beshel; a brother Jerome A. (Bernie) LaSorba; a sister-in-law Eileen LaSorba; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen in 1999, a brother John, as well as his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF LINDENHURST, 1840 East Grand Ave. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday only at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Donald C. "Ole" Olsen
Donald C. "Ole" Olsen, 69, passed away Friday, August 30, 2002 at his home. He was born in Elmwood Park, IL on August 25, 1933 to Amelia (nee Mastrodominico) and Olaf M. Olsen.
He is a longtime member of the International Association of Bridge, Structural and Ornamental Iron Workers, Local No. 1 in Chicago and worked in the construction of many of the buildings in the Chicagoland area.
He is survived by his children, Donald C. Olsen, Jr. of Solon Mills, IL, Jim (Barb) Olsen of Fox Lake, IL, Sheree (Glenn) Peterson of Loveland, CO, Jeff (Amy) Olsen of Loveland, CO, Gary (Betty) Olsen of Ingleside, IL, Lawrence Olsen of Ina, IL, Laura Mead of Ingleside, IL and Sean Olsen of Fox Lake, IL. He is also survived by his brothers, William "Bill" Olsen of Mercer, WI and Keith Olsen of Round Lake, IL; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30PM, Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, LTD., 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 with Rev. Lisle J. Kauffman officiating. Interment is private. Friends of the family may visit at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 4 until 8PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Foundation of Northeastern Illinois, 410 South Hager Avenue, Barrington, Illinois, 60010.

James C. Smith
James C. "Jimmy" Smith, 30, of Zion, formerly of Kenosha, died on Saturday, August 31, 2002 at Midwestern Regional Medical Center, Zion.
Jimmy was born November 16, 1971 in Kenosha and lived in Kenosha all of his life, moving to Zion in May of 2002. On May 27, 2000 he married Kristie Mills of Zion at St. Mary's Lutheran Church in Kenosha and he was employed by Asyst Technologies LLC of Kenosha. Jimmy was known by all as an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
Survivors include his wife, Kristie; his father and mother Ted and Sandra Smith of Kenosha; two sisters Lorri (Michael) Roberts of Kenosha and Lisa (Kevin) Aney of Racine; two brothers Robert (Jennifer) Smith and Christopher Smith both of Kenosha; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna, in 1976, by paternal grandparents Herbert and Elizabeth Smith, maternal grandparents Elmer and Dorothy Evans and by three uncles Edward Smith, Howard Evans and Monse Santiago.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion with Sister Phyllis Miller of Spirit of Life Church of Zion officiating. Interment will follow at St. James cemetery, Kenosha. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Memorial donations to the Lake County Epilepsy Foundation have been suggested.

Lenore Wachowiak
Lenore Wachowiak, age 68, of Park City, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2002 at her home. She was born October 17, 1933 in Lake Forest, IL.
Lenore was a volunteer for Meals On Wheels, Waukegan Senior Center and Catholic Charities. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was employed at Mercer Corporation in Chicago as a Purchasing Agent for 15 years until her retirement in 1998.
Surviving are three children: Suzanne Wachowiak of Park City, Ruth Wachowiak of Gurnee and Mark (Dawn) Wachowiak of Pleasant Prairie, WI; three grandsons; her mother, Mary Lambert of Zion, IL.
She was preceded in death by her father Elmer Lambert; one brother Richard Lambert.
Funeral service will be held 11AM, Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 cemetery Road, Gurnee with Fr. Paul J. Cull officiating. Burial at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation will be 5-8PM Tuesday and 10-11AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Donations to American Cancer Society.

Walter T. Faro Sr.
Walter T. Faro Sr., 54, of Wadsworth, passed away Monday, September 1, 2003 at his home. He was born October 26, 1948 in Youngstown, OH and attended Lakeland Evangelical Free Church. He was a member of the VFW and the DAV. Walter was a Combat Vietnam Veteran.
Survivors include his wife Ingrid Faro; a son, Walter T. Faro Jr.; his father Dan Faro of Zion; and three brothers, Daniel, David and Michael. He was preceded in death by his mother, Amelia Faro.
Memorial services will be held Friday, September 5, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Lakeland Evangelical Free Church, 440 N. Hunt Club Rd., Gurnee. Burial will be private. Visitation is from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakeland Evangelical Free Church or Trinity International University, Society of Woman at Trinity, 2065 Half Day Rd., Deerfield, IL 60015.

Judith Ann Gordon
Judith Ann Gordon, 63, of Beach Park, passed away Monday, September 1, 2003 at Victory Memorial Hospital. She was born September 19, 1939 in Wisconsin. She was a member of St. Dismas Church where she had been church secretary for the last 22 years. Her hobbies included collecting angels and bells.
Survivors include her husband of two years, Henderson R. "Hank" Bostick; a daughter Mary Jo Gray of Round Lake; a grandson, Mathew and a granddaughter Katrina; two step-grandchildren Benjamin and William; three brothers, Doug (Gloria) Camarato, Roger Sakach and Jim (Sandy) Camarato; and a sister Mary Parthe. She was preceded in death by her first husband Alfred in 1979.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2003 at St. Dismas Church, 2600 Sunset Ave., Waukegan. Burial will be at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation is from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Friday only at the church. Memorials to the family would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to MARSH FUNERAL HOME.

Willie Irby Sr.
Willie Irby Sr., 72 years young of North Chicago, IL peacefully went home to rest on August 30, 2003. "Big Will" as known by family and friends was born October 5, 1930 in Carpenter, MS.
"Big Will" confessed hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Elmore Baptist Church in Carlisle, MS. Will was employed at American Motors for 40 plus years and retired in November of 1994. We know Will touched many people's lives with his loving smile and witty personality. "Big Will" was also a Korean War veteran.
Will leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife of 52 years Ella Mae Irby; two sons, Willie (Sharon) Irby Jr.; Ricky Irby; five daughters, Mary Thorton; Surayyah (Bruce) Wallace; Karen Irby; Linda (Ricky) Bulls Sr.; Brenda (Rudy) Coleman; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one uncle, Charlie (Nadine) Wells; one sister-in-law, Marion Irby; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
Will is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Amelia Ann (Meland) Irby Sr.; one sister, Carrie Irby; one brother Sam Irby Jr.; and one grandson, Quinten Irby.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2003 at the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 2401 Argonne Drive, North Chicago, IL. Pastor Gerald Wilcoxon, officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park cemetery, Zion, IL. Herbert (Herbie) Milton Montgomery
Herbert (Herbie) Milton Montgomery, age 69 of Waukegan, Illinois was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at Provena Saint Therese Medical Center in Waukegan, IL. Herbert was born July 23, 1934 in Waukegan, IL. He was baptized at an early age by the late Rev W.D. Kilgore. He relocated for a few years and upon returning he reinstated his membership at Mt. Sinai Institutional Baptist Church under the late Rev. Louis Gilbert Sr. Herbert attended Sunday school and was a member of the Men's choir until his health began to fail.
He is survived by one devoted, loving and caring sister, Ms. Dolores (Montgomery) North, North Chicago, Il; one aunt, Mrs. Byrdelee Bobo, North Chicago, IL; one sister-in-law Mrs. Polly Montgomery, North Chicago, IL and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paris and Gladys Montgomery; two brothers, LeRoy and Percy Montgomery and one sister, Loretta Charles.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 6, 2003. Wake at 10:00 am at Mt. Sinai Institutional Baptist Church, 2401 Argonne Drive, North Chicago, IL, Rev. Gerald Wilcoxon Pastor.

Rick A. Schnelle
Rick A. Schnelle, 55 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Monday September 1, 2003 at Lake Forest Hospital, Lake Forest, IL. He was born September 10, 1947 in Evanston, the son of Jacob and Leona (Mariage) Schnelle and had lived in Grayslake before moving to Antioch fourteen years ago. Rick was active with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 190 as assistant scoutmaster from 1992 to 1997, Scoutmaster from 1997 to 1999 and received an Outstanding Service Award on May 24, 1999 in recognition of exceptional leadership and devoted service. He enjoyed waterskiing, snow skiing, home remodeling, woodworking, fishing, boating, camping and computers. In 1969 he started work at Northern Weathermakers HVAC, Inc. and after 33 years was currently specializing in DDC controls. He also served in the U.S. Army in Germany during Viet Nam from 1966 to 1969. On December 17, 1988 he married Meredith Nichols in Libertyville, IL.
Survivors include his wife, Meredith; his four children, Chris of Portage, IN, Carrie (Monty) Buchanan of Evansville, IN, Emily Schnelle of Antioch and Tommy of Lake Villa; his parents, Jacob and Leona Schnelle of Wilmette, IL; one brother, Rudy Schnelle of Chicago and two sisters, Dawn Schnelle and Denise Schnelle both of Wilmette.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 6, 2003 at the United Methodist Church of Antioch, 848 Main St., Antioch with Pastor Gary L. Curl, officiating. Interment will be in Hillside cemetery, Antioch. Visitation will be held at the church from 4 until 8 PM Friday and from 10:00 AM Saturday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Boy Scouts of America in his memory. STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH handled the arrangements.

Clara E. "Trudy" Sipple
Clara E. "Trudy" Sipple, age 72, died Tuesday, September 2nd at Grande Prairie Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on November 29, 1930 in Goodrich, WI, she was the daughter of the late Vladimir E. and Eleanor N. (Thurs) Macik. She attended grade school as a young girl in Goodrich, WI. She came to Kenosha in 1942, attended Friedens Lutheran School, and graduated from Wilmot High School in 1948.
On July 29, 1953 at Owenton, Kentucky she married Edward Stamper Sipple. He preceded her in death.
She worked forty one years in Federal Civil Service at Great Lakes Naval Center in the public works department retiring in 1994. She then worked part-time as a waitress at Scenter Truck stop in Russell, IL, and most recently at Dairyland Greyhound Dog Track.
She was associated with Good Shepard Lutheran Church. She loved to bowl and loved the Chicago Cubs, jigsaw puzzles, cross word puzzles, embroidery and cross stitch and loved a good joke.
Survivors include her son, Edward Luke Sipple of Kenosha; a daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" Sipple of Kenosha; a stepson William Wyatt Sipple of Plant City, Florida; a brother, Cliff (Dorinda) Macik of Kenosha, WI; two sisters, Ioane (Donald) Schmidt of Orlando, Florida, and Darleen Zirbel of Trevor, WI; one step-sister, Carolyn (Fredrick) Nehls of Sun Lakes, AZ; and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one stepson Jimmy Wayne Sipple, one brother Vladimir and a sister Irene Burns.
The HANSEN-LENDMAN FUNERAL HOME is serving the family.
