Delores Voinovich
Delores Voinovich, 73, of Waukegan passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2002 at Lake Forest Hospital. She was born September 1, 1928 in Milwaukee, WI.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was also a member of Waukegan Moose and Telephone Pioneers. Delores retired from Illinois Bell after 38 years of service.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William; three children, William (Shirley), Wendy (Terrance) Moreno and Cindy (John) Bell; four grandchildren, Deanna (Ron) Berry, Megan, Ryan and Katherine; three great grandchildren, Nicholas, Madison and Kayla; two brothers, Jack (Charlene) Mruk and James (Mary Lou) Mruk; one sister, Dorothy (Cliff) Pearson; sister-in-law, Ida Mruk; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Mruk.
Funeral Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00 am Wednesday, March 20, 2002. Burial will be in Ascension cemetery. Visitation will be at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 cemetery Rd., 5-8 pm Tuesday, March 19, 2002.
Helen M. Green
Helen M. Green, 86, of Libertyville, IL passed away suddenly, Friday, March 15, 2002 at her home. She was born January 22, 1916 in Ida Grove, Iowa and was a former resident of Evanston and Vernon Hills.
Following her graduation in Iowa, she taught in a rural school in 1943. After moving to Chicago, she worked for an insurance company and later the A.C. Nielsen Company. In 1946, she married
her husband Floyd B. Green and moved to Evanston, where they lived for 25 years while raising their children. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Evanston and the Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving are three children, Phillip (Mary) Green of Denver, CO, Diane (James) Harrington of Camarillo, CA and Gregory Green of Barrington; five grandchildren, Ryan and Kristine Harrington, Michael Green and Damien and Andrea Josefiak; three sisters, Wilma Cramer of Libertyville, Marion (Edgar) Edsen of Ida Grove, Iowa, and Dorothy (Bob) Jensen of Des Moines and her brother Bill (Barb) Krick of Portsmouth, VA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hazel Krick; by her husband Floyd on May 31, 1985 and her daughter-in-law, Christine Green in 1998.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rte. 176), Libertyville, with the Rev. Jamison Geiger, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Libertyville, officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from Noon until the time of Services on Tuesday.

Lillian Pearl Grobelch
In loving memory of Lillian Pearl Grobelch, age 78, born and raised in Waukegan, Illinois. She died on March 12, 2002.
Lillian graduated from Glen Flora School and enjoyed playing the accordion, crocheting, long walks and animals. In 1995 she moved to Tucson, AZ, where she continued to enjoy these activities.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, a sister and a brother.
Lillian is survived by her brother Robert and her sister, Frances, three nephews and two nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2002 in the Chapel at Ascension cemetery with interment following the services.

John Gregorin
John Gregorin, 83 of Waukegan, IL died Monday, March 15, 2004 at Vista St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan, IL.
He was born December 14,1920 in North Chicago, IL and married
Mary Grom on January 3, 1948.
John retired from U.S. Steel & Wire and from Cyclone Fence in 1977, after 37 years of employment. He then went to work at St. Therese Hospital, where he retired in 1986. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church; a veteran of World War II, having served with the US Coast Guard; S.N.P.J. Sloga Lodge #14, U.S. Steel Workers Retirees Club; served on the Board for the Slovenic National Home Society for six years and was a member of Slovenic Pensioners Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary (nee Grom); and two loving daughters, Jane Bena and Ruth (John) Hodnik, both of Wildwood, IL; a special granddaughter, Gina Marie Hodnik two sisters, Frances Adler and Mildred Kaczmaryn; a sister-in-law, Marge Gregorin; also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Frances (nee Plestenjak) Gregorin and a brother, Stanley Gregorin.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2004 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, North Chicago, IL Interment will be at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville, IL.

Ruth Lucy Johnson (nee Mason)
Ruth L. Johnson (nee Mason), 84 of Grayslake, IL, formerly of Gurnee, IL, died March 14, 2004 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.
She was born December 01, 1919 in Morrison County, MN.
Ruth retired after 30 years as an assistant to Dr. B. J. Pecaro of Waukegan.
She was a Senior Regent in The Women of The Moose in Waukegan, Royal Neighbors Camp 2042 and volunteered at the VA Hospital.
She loved to bowl in her younger years and was an avid sewer.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Le Erva (Donald) Goronson of Wildwood, IL and Janet (Arturo) Ruiz of Waukegan; 3 grandsons, Mark (Lezlee) Goronson of Las Vegas, NV, Kevin (Gina) Mayer of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Todd (Tara) Mayer of Waukegan, one granddaughter, Traci (Phil) Fontana of Grayslake, IL, 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-granddaughter, and her very best friend "Mitch" as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Johnson on December 16, 1983.
Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 11AM on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at the Gurnee Funeral Home, Ltd., 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee with Rev. Dr. Willard C. Blomquist officiating. Earlene A. (nee Loftus) Monroe
Earlene A. (nee Loftus) Monroe, 84, of Waukegan passed away on Friday, March 12, 2004 at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion, with her husband, Walter G. Monroe at her side. She was born May 11, 1919 in Waukegan and remained a lifelong resident. She was a member of Faith Methodist Church, was a dedicated teacher in the Waukegan elementary school system and taught in the field of Special Education and deeply touched the lives of her many students. She was also a member of the American Federation of Teachers, Illinois Council for Learning Disabilities, Special Education Parents Group, St. Collettas Parent Group and an original member of the Governor's Committee for Handicapped Children. Earlene had been a teacher for 42 1/2 years starting at age 18, she was a graduate of DeKalb Teacher's College and held a Masters Degree from Roosevelt University, she retired from teaching at Waukegan District 60, Clearview School in 1984.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Monroe; children, Larry Glen (Jacque) Monroe of Goodyear, AZ, Roger Alan (Colleen) Monroe of Winter Springs, FL, Timothy Earl (Ruth) Monroe of Bison, WY and Charles Walter Monroe of Jefferson, WI; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; her brother, Norman (Sophie) Loftus of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Eldene McMillan of Waukegan; and sister-in-law, Jean Loftus of Panama City, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mae (nee Garrett) Loftus; and her brother, Edson Loftus.

Carole L. Rampale, 64, of Lindenhurst, IL and formerly of North Chicago, IL, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, March 15, 2004.
She was born March 9, 1940 in North Chicago, IL and lived in this area all of her life. She was married
to Eugene Rampale on September 15, 1962 at Holy Rosary Church in North Chicago, IL. She was a former member of P.L.A.V. Auxiliary, an active member of T.O.P.S. and her hobbies included sewing and taking care of her beloved grandchildren. She was a volunteer at the North Chicago VA Hospital. Carole was a graduate of Holy Child High School, Class of 1958.
Carole is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Eugene "Gene" Rampale; and five loving children, Eugene J. (Mary) Rampale Jr. of Lindenhurst, Robert (Merleanne) Rampale of Prairie View, IL, Linda (Murray) Saxon of Twin Lakes, WI, Rosemary (Ed) Roncone of Lindenhurst, IL and Barbara Rampale of Palatine, IL; four loving grandchildren, Jenna Rampale, Lauren Saxon, Annalisa and Ed Jr. Roncone; her brothers, Tom (Rose) Eastman of Popular Bluff, MO, twin brothers, James (Donna) Patterson of North Chicago, IL and John (Judy) Patterson of Winthrop Harbor, IL; and her sisters, Agnes (Albert) Custer of Winthrop Harbor, IL and Mary (John) Cook of Deland, IL.

Joreene Ugaste, 65, of Lincolnshire, formerly of Lake Forest, died March 14, 2004. She was born August 5, 1938 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
She was a resident of Lincolnshire for the past year and formerly a 32-year resident of Lake Forest. She was a former Office Manager at First Midwest Bank in Lake Forest and former Administrative Assistant with the City of Highland Park. A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest and a former member of The Fifty-Fifty Club of Lake Forest.
She is the wife of John; Mother of Rob (Linda) of Hawthorn Woods, Tony (Cindy) of Vernon Hills, Daniel (Denise) of Geneva, and Kelly (Tom Cooprider) of Gurnee; Grandmother of John, Joshua, Christie, Tony Jr., Joe, Matthew, Tonia, Alysa, Jenna and Logan; Sister of Jim Johnston of Manhattan, Kansas; Daughter of the late Marilyn Albrecht.

Jeanne M. Werth, 84, of Libertyville, IL, passed away Sun. March 14, 2004 at the ManorCare Health Services in Libertyville. She was born September 9, 1919 in Oelwein, Iowa and had been a resident of Wilmette and Highland Park area for many years. She was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Wilmette.
Surviving is her son, Mark (Karen) Werth of Glenview; three grandchildren, Stephen "Shep", Matthew and Jonathan Werth.
She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Werth and sister, Elizabeth Pflum.

Barbara Jo Alvarado, 69, of Round Lake passed away Sunday, March 14, 2004 at Pebblebrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lake Bluff. She was born March 6, 1935 in West Virginia, the daughter of the late Harry and Deloris (nee Day) Harper. She worked as an insurance billing specialist at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for 25 years, retiring in 1998.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Amanda Alvarado of Round Lake; her brother, Ronald Harper of Grayslake; her sister-in-law, Lori Harper of Libertyville; and her niece, Laurel Harper of Libertyville.

Thomas R. Needham
Thomas R. Needham, 45 years old of Ingleside, IL and formerly of Palmer, Alaska for ten years, and a former longtime resident of Mt. Prospect and Fox Lake, IL, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at home. He was born February 19, 1959 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Lawrence and Carol (nee Reddington) Needham. Tom was a custom furniture maker by trade and formerly owned Mica's Creation's Ltd in Wauconda, IL and most recently was employed at the Antioch High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, the great outdoors and woodworking.
Survivors include his children, Kristin and David Needham both of Palmer, Alaska; his former wife of 22 years, Kathy (nee Riley) Needham of Palmer, Alaska; his brothers, John (Robbie) Needham of Salem, WI and Michael (Janice) Needham of Palatine, IL; by many nieces, nephews; great nieces and nephews; by his step father, Wally Boreske of Fox Lake, IL; and by his dear friends, Vickie Winsett of Ingleside, IL, John Lovitz of Wauconda, IL and Bob Cowin of Baraboo, WI.

Ronald George Smelzer
Ronald George Smelzer, 65 of Salem, WI formerly of Libertyville, IL died Thursday in Lake Forest Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Ron was born August 28, 1938 in Richland Center, WI and grew up in Highland, WI, where he attended Highland high school. After high school he joined the US Army where he became airborne qualified and was stationed in Hawaii with the 173rd Airborne Division.
In 1965, he married
Marjorie Kitsemble and took a managerial position for the Archdiocese of Chicago at St. Joseph Parish, Libertyville, IL. In 1999, Ron retired from that position and moved to Salem, WI. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter who was known to his friends as "One Shot".
Survived by his wife, Marge; his daughter, Michelle (Mark) Humbert of Mundelein; his grandchildren, Kyle and Kayla; his sister, Marlene (Bill) Brunckhorst of Whitewater, WI; his father-in-law, Merill Kitsemble; his niece, Jane and his nephews, Steven and Michael.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Cotherman and his nieces, Ann and Mary Brunckhorst.
Memorial services will be 8 p.m. Monday, March 15th at MCMURROUGH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 101 Park Place, Libertyville (Rt. 176 - 1 block East of Rt. 21). Visitation is on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
