Stanley C. Jendras
Stanley C. Jendras, 78, of Bristol, WI passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at his home. He was born May 1, 1926 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Adam and Eva (Augustyn) Jendras. Stan served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a signalman of the U.S.S. Munda, was a member and past Commander of the Antioch VFW Post #4551. He lived in Cicero for many years where he owned and operated Manor Service Station. was a member of the Our Lady of Charity Church, the Holy Name Society and the Catholic War Veterans. He spent vacation time in Bristol for over 40 years before moving there permanently in 1987 after his retirement. He was a member of St. Scholastica Church in Bristol and had been a volunteer at the VA Medical Center in North Chicago for 10 years. His interests included gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels and watching the sunsets from his lake home. On June 2, 1951, he married Joan Gac at St. Adalbert's Church in Chicago and she preceded him in death on September 18, 2004.
Survivors include his three children, Cindy (John) Antene of Brookfield, IL, Kathy (Art) Burns of Naperville, IL and John (Judy) Jendras of Downers Grove, IL; 13 grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Jendras of Chicago and Eleanor Potempa of KY; and his sister-in-law, Loretta Jendras of Chicago; and many nieces and nephews.
in addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Edward and John; and three infant siblings.
Funeral services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Saturday, November 27, 2004 at St. Scholastica Church, Bristol, WI. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM Friday and 9:30 AM Saturday at STRANG FUNERAL HOME. Those desiring may make donations tot he VA Medical Center, North Chicago, IL, or the American Heart Association in his memory.

Curt A. Kadisak
Curt A. Kadisak, 62, of Walworth, Wisconsin died Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry. He was born September 4, 1942 in Chicago to Walter and Rose (Babiasz) Kadisak. On January 12, 1990, he married Maria Wiacek in Warsaw, Poland.
Raised in Chicago until age four, Curt moved to Duck Lake Woods in Ingleside with his family, until moving to the Alden at age 20. He lived in Alden for most of his life until moving four months ago to his new home in Walworth. He was an avid fisherman, and also enjoyed golfing, hunting and the companionship of his dogs. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served with the 101st Ariborne Division during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Maria; a daughter, Olga; a son, Mathew; two sisters, Nancy (Jack) Crump of Bean Station, Tennessee and Pam (Charles) Edwards of Ingleside.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral Mass will be at 11 AM Saturday, December 11, 2004 at Church of Holy Apostles, 5211 W. Bull Valley Road, McHenry. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the Mass. Interment will be private.
Memorials to the American Lung Association of Illinois, Northeastern Service Area, 1740 Naperville Road, Suite 202, Wheaton, IL, 60187 would be appreciated by the family.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the GEORGE R. JUSTEN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 3519 W. Elm Street, McHenry, IL, 60050.

Alvis M. Kotecki
Alvis M. Kotecki, 80, of Buffalo Grove, IL, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at her home.
She was born September 7, 1924 in Chicago and had been a Buffalo Grove resident for the past 33 years. She was a graduate of St. Anne's School of Nursing in Chicago and retired in 2000 after 47 years as a registered nurse. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia. She was also a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Long Grove, where she participated in the Naomi Ruth Circle and the Young At Heart.
Surviving are three children, Paul (Shelly) Kotecki, Stan Kotecki and Theresa Kotecki, all of Buffalo Grove; two sisters, Marie Urban of Arlington Heights and Jeanie Brown of Wausau, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Sadie Ziegler; and by her husband, Chester Kotecki in 1996.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 29 at the Hope Lutheran Church, at the corner of Arlington Heights Road and Checker Road in Long Grove. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at church. a graveside service was held on Friday, November 26 at Acacia Park cemetery in Chicago. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Foundation for Fighting Blindness, in her memory. Arrangements are by the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME in Libertyville.

Harry O. Neff Jr.
Harry O. Neff Jr., a resident of Round Lake Beach, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at NIMC in McHenry at the age of 81. He was born June 11, 1923 to the late Myra and Harry Neff Sr. in Hammond, IN.
Harry retired from the Lincoln Bottling Co. and his favorite prayer was the 23rd Psalm The Lord is my Shepherd.
Harry is survived by his wife, Irma Neff; his children, Harry "Oren" (Lori) Neff III of Lake Villa, Pamela (Ray) Raeck of Mississippi, Robert (Anne) Neff of West Allis, WI, Keith (Debbie) Neff of Union Grove, WI, Sandra (Jerry) Neff of McNominee Falls, WI, Debra Neff of Round Lake, Crystal (Jerry) Bree of Vail, AZ, and Thomas Neff of Round Lake; his 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his sister, Dorothy Guldan; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry, October 5, 1965; his mother, Myra, November 22, 1974; and his grandson, Ronald Seth Neff, December of 1978.
A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, November 29, 2004 at 10:00am at St. Gilbert Catholic Church (the large church), 301 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL. Interment will be held immediately after the service at Winridge cemetery in Cary, IL. Friends of the family may visit on Monday, November 29, 2004 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 401 E. Belvidere Rd., Graylake, IL 60030.

Richard E. Peterson
Richard E. Peterson, 71, of Round Lake Beach, IL passed away at Condell Medical Center on Tuesday, November 2, 2004. He was born December 6, 1932 in Chicago to Frank E. and Rose S. (Vecker) Peterson. Richard was a mail man for the U.S. Postal Service for 17 years. He was a resident of Cedar Villa in Round Lake Beach for the past six years.
He is survived by his friend, Geraldine Mark; and all the residents and staff of Cedar Villa in Round Lake Beach.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and neighbors will gather for a Memorial remembrance of Richard at 3 PM December 2, 2004 at Cedar Villa, 1899 N. Cedar Lake Road, Round Lake, IL. Arrangements by JUSTEN'S ROUND LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 847-546-3300.

Paul P. Petropoulos
Paul P. Petropoulos, 72, of Waukegan, IL passed away Friday, November 26, 2004 at his home. He was born March 25, 1932 in Logga, Messinias Greece.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angela "Kiki" and two children, Peter P. and Peggy (George) Tsoukalas; two brothers, John (Glyke) Petropoulos, Christos (Koula) Petropoulos and one sister, Antonia Androutsopoulos. He is also survived by three nephews, Peter J. (Debbie) Petropoulos, Peter (Lisa) Androutsopoulos and Nick Androutsopoulos; and four nieces, Peggy (Stefanos) Kiriazia, Antonia (Kostas) Sokerelis, Peggy (Angelos) Fousteris Rania (Kostas) Karagelis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Punagiotis and Panagiota and brother, Nick.
Visitation 5-9 p.m. Sunday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Monday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME of Gurnee, 305 cemetery Rd., Church Service 10 a.m. Monday, November 29, 2004 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1217 North Ave., Waukegan, IL. Burial Northshore Garden of Memories.

Carolyn Ann "Muffy" Steele
Carolyn Ann "Muffy" Steele, 58, of East Peoria, IL died on Thursday, November 25, 2004 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
Born on February 1, 1946 in Libertville, IL to C. Allen and Marion Decker Hudson. She married James H. "Jim" Steele on June 27, 1970 in Libertyville, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are one aunt; two cousin, two nieces and two nephews; as well as many loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her special Aunt Harriet.
She was a graduate of Libertyville High School and received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degree at Bradley University in Peoria. She taught for East Peoria Dist. #86 at Bolin, Armstrong and Lincoln Grade Schools and also Central Jr. High in East Peoria for 33 years.
She was a recipient of the Outstanding Educators of American Awards and also the "Those Who Excel" Award for the State of Illinois and she was also in Who's Who. She initiated competive basketball for girls in the East Peoria school system. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of East Peoria and its Mary Martha Circle. She was an active member of the Laureate Gamma Rho Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.
She was a member of the American Association of University Women in Peoria and actively worked as their lobbyist in Peoria and Springfield for the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment. She enjoyed attending the Symphony, the theater and sharing her home in Door County, WI with family and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 29, 2004 at First United Methodist Church in East Peoria. The Rev. Dr. Alan Newhall will officiate. Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2004 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington, with additional visitation one hour prior to services at the church on Monday from 10-11 a.m. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at Ivanhoe Cemeteyr in Ivanhoe, IL.
Memorials may be made to Walk for the Mind, P.O. Box 3033, Peoria, IL 61614-3033, District #86 Memorial Fund or to her church.

Brian Traxler
Sept. 26, 1967 - Nov. 19, 2004
Brian Traxler, age 37, passed away November 19, 2004 in San Antonio, TX. Brian was born and raised in Waukegan, IL. Brian was a loving father, son, brother and uncle. He was "the life of the party" and always made people laugh.
Brian was a career baseball player and coach with the Los Angeles Dodgers Organization.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Sandy Traxler.
Brian is survived by his daughter, Ashley; his mother, Ruth; his sisters, Kelly Sheward (Wes) and Stacey; and nephews, Tristan and Jack.
A memorial will be held on December 1, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. at Alamo Funeral Home in San Antonio, TX. A "Celebration of Life" reception will follow at the VFW Sam Houston.
In lieu of flowers a college trust fund in the name of Ashley Traxler can be made to Smith and Barney, Attn: Ted Wood, 2300 Windy Ridge Pky, Suite 550 North, Atlanta, GA 30338.

Dorothy A. Vanover (nee Bojniewicz)
Dorothy A. Vanover, age 64, of Waukegan, died Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at her home, following a battle with cancer. Dorothy was born August 18, 1940 in Waukegan. She was the owner and president of Travel Concepts in Waukegan. She was also a volunteer for LaCasa in Gurnee, a member of American Business Woman's Association, a graduate of Waukegan Citizens' Police Academy and a partner in the Women of Worth investment club.
She is survived by two sons, Lawrence J. Vanover of Round Lake Beach and Gregory J. (Tricia) Vanover of Grayslake; two granddaughters, Lauren and Emily; two sisters, Rosalie (late Ken) Daywalt and Janice (Ed) Shultis; and many nieces and nephews including Karen (Ed) Garret, Kevin (Holly) Daywalt, Mark (Samatha) Shultis, Kim (Jeff) Clennan, Kris (Jeff) Franklin and David Shultis; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony J. and Rose B. (Stanislawski) Bojniewicz. Visitation will be Monday, November 29, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington St., Waukegan, IL. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd., Gurnee. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Florence G. Wehrs
Florence G. Wehrs, 97 years old of McHenry, IL, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2004. She was born December 24, 1906 in Chicago.
Survivors are her children, Audrye (The late William) Woller, William Wehrs, Raymond (Patricia) Wehrs, Rev. John (Shirley) Wehrs, Maureen Wehrs and Karen (John) O'Brien; 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond F. Wehrs Sr.; her brother, George Halloran; and sister, Dorothy Corcoran.
Funeral Services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, November 29, 2004 at St. John the Baptist Church, 2302 W. Church St., McHenry, IL. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83), Antioch, IL from 3 until 7 PM Sunday. Friends desiring may make contributions to St. John the Baptist Church building fund, in her memory.
