Dorothy A. Vanover (nee Bojniewicz)
Dorothy A. Vanover, age 64, of Waukegan, died Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at her home, following a battle with cancer. Dorothy was born August 18, 1940 in Waukegan. She was the owner and president of Travel Concepts in Waukegan. She was also a volunteer for LaCasa in Gurnee, a member of American Business Woman's Association, a graduate of Waukegan Citizens' Police Academy and a partner in the Women of Worth investment club.
She is survived by two sons, Lawrence J. Vanover of Round Lake Beach and Gregory J. (Tricia) Vanover of Grayslake; two granddaughters, Lauren and Emily; two sisters, Rosalie (late Ken) Daywalt and Janice (Ed) Shultis; and many nieces and nephews including Karen (Ed) Garret, Kevin (Holly) Daywalt, Mark (Samatha) Shultis, Kim (Jeff) Clennan, Kris (Jeff) Franklin and Davis Shultis; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony J. and Rose B. (Stanislawski) Bojniewicz. Visitation will be Monday, November 29, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington St., Waukegan, IL. Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd., Gurnee. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
William J. Aredia
William J. Aredia, 44 years old of Antioch, IL, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2002 at Victory Memorial Hospital, Waukegan, IL, suddenly of an apparent heart attack. He was born September 22, 1958 in Chicago, the son of the late Jasper and Virginia (Gewerth) Aredia and has lived in Antioch since 1984.
Bill was a self employed contractor installing acoustical tiles and was a member of the carpenters union local #250 of Waukegan, IL.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 525 of Antioch and was a past Governor, Member of the Lakes Area Community Band and the Lakes Area Swing Band, an Eagle Scout and a former manager of the Antioch youth baseball league. On June 16, 1984 he married
Kimberly Flood in Chicago.
Survivors include his wife Kimberly; two daughters, Rachel and Sarah; one brother, Frank (Cheryl) Aredia of Round Lake, IL; his Aunt Antoinette Viola and his uncle Joseph Aredia, both of Chicago; his nieces and nephews, Karen, Nicholas, Matthew, Tyler and Mason; his father and mother-in-law, Glenn and Elizabeth Flood of Antioch and his two sisters-in-law, Deborah and Heather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Thomas.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83). Interment will be private. Visitation will be from 4 until 8PM Tuesday with Loyal Order of Moose services at 7:00PM.

Lucina Carino
Lucina Carino, 78, of Gurnee, passed away on November 24, 2002 at St. Therese Hospital. She was born March 16, 1924 in the Philippines.
Lucina was a member of St. Paul The Apostle Church. She enjoyed reading and outdoor activities.
Survived by six children, Rene (Louise) Carino, Eddie (Lydia) Carino, Ben (Jocelyn) Carino, Paz (Jessie) Cruz, Sonny (Liberty) Carino, Juliet (Noel) Canlas; eight grandchildren, Warren and Loren Carino, Jexter and Justin Carino, Christopher and Alison Carino, Michael and Nico Canlas; one sister, Leonila Ramos in the Philippines.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Magno.
Funeral service will be held 10AM, Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at St. Paul The Apostle Church. Burial Ascension cemetery. Visitation will be at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 cemetery Road, 5-9PM, Tuesday, November 26, 2002 and 8:30-9:30AM on Wednesday.
Richard W. "Rick" Molback, Jr.
Richard W. "Rick" Molback Jr., 51 of Zion and formerly of Naperville, Illinois died on Thursday, November 21, 2002 at Midwestern Regional Medical Center, Zion.
Rick was born July 17, 1951 in Waukegan. Following graduation from Waukegan Township High School he attended and graduated from the University of South Florida at Tampa and later received his aviation flight training at Flight Safety International in Vero Beach, Florida, staying on with the school as an instructor after graduation. While teaching aviation, he was approached by Phillips Petroleum to become one of their Corporate Pilots and resided in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Many years later he went into aviation fuel sales for Phillips, traveling in the United States and Canada. It was during this time that he then moved to Naperville where he lived for several years. Rick also taught gliding for many years and he was a member of First United Methodist Church in Waukegan.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, Richard Sr. and Lois Molback of Lake Villa; one brother, Mark (Julie) Molback of Key West, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Harriet and by one sister, Linda Brennan. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Interment will follow at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mary A. Ornatek
Mary A. Ornatek, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Friday, November 22, 2002 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, IA.
She was born in Cascade, WI on August 23, 1923. She lived most of her life in North Chicago until moving to Hanover, Illinois in 1988.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Anna Joknis; her husband, Anthony; a sister, Bertha; and a brother, Anton.
She is survived by five children, Carol (Al) Sasse of Waukegan, Anthony (Kathryn) of Cape Elizabeth, ME, Bridget (John) Sturm, Mark (Kathleen) and Peter all of Hanover; nine grandchildren, Emily (Jamie Garvin), Laura Sasse, Anne Ornatek, Monica Sasse, Zachary Ornatek, Jamie and Jason Reck, Christina and Ricky Snipes.
A Wake Service is scheduled for Monday, November 25 at SALATA FUNERAL HOME, 729 - 14th St. in North Chicago from 5 to 8 PM. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 12 Noon Tuesday, November 26 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in North Chicago. Interment will be at Ascension Catholic cemetery in Libertyville, Illinois.
George Povich
George Povich, 76, of Beach Park died on Friday, November 22, 2002 at V. A. Medical Center, North Chicago.
He was born May 24, 1926 in Iron River, Michigan and came to this area in 1950. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Zion and he retired from U. S. Steel and the Bank of Northern Illinois. George also served with the Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, to whom he was married
on March 5, 1949 in Iron River, Michigan; children, George (Mary) Povich of Zion, Steven (Peggy) Povich of Antioch, Linda (Fred) Hauser of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, John Povich of Beach Park and Diane (David) Smith of Kenosha, Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren, Erik, George (Marina), Jonathan (Liesl), Brian, Ryan and Matthew Povich, Frederick and Aaron Hauser and Jeremy, Jessica and Allison Smith; and brothers and sisters, Peter (Jean) Povich and Ann (Tom) McMahon both of Iron River, Frances (Arrigo) Ugolini of Libertyville, Mary Stebbins and Catherine (John) Sporer both of Iron River.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Emil; and by his parents, John and Cecila Povich.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at 10 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1800 23rd Street, Zion with Pastor Jack Kelly officiating. Mary V. Queen
Mary V. Queen, 81 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Thursday, November 21, 2002 at Victory Memorial Hospital. She was born July 31, 1921 in St. Paul, MN, moving to Antioch in the late 1950's. She was a member of St. Peter Church and the Council of Catholic Women and many other religious organizations.
On September 27, 1938 she married
Everett Queen in Naperville, IL and he preceded her in death on November 24, 1990. Survivors include 3 sons, David (Patricia) of Round Lake Beach, IL, James (Patricia) of St. Charles, MO and Michael (Carolyn) of Collins, MO, 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by 3 grandsons, Mark, Donald and Noah Queen.
Funeral Services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 26, 2002 at St. Peter Church, 557 Lake St., Antioch. Interment will be in Wood National cemetery, Milwaukee, WI at 1:30 PM. Visitation will be 4 till 8 PM Monday at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St., (Rte 83). Marcell Smith, 63, of Waukegan, IL departed this life Thursday, November 21, 2002 at the Pavilion Nursing Home. She was born September 4, 1939 in Cowpen, SC. She was a member St. John Baptist Church in Waukegan.
Survivors include her husband Johnny Smith; 2 daughters Patricia (Chuck) Duncan of North Chicago and Leevel (Horace) Robinson of Waukegan; 6 grandchildren Shawn and Shaneeka Lewis, Phaneesha Jenkins, Tony Lindsey, Whitney Duncan, and Alena Robinson; 4 great grandchildren Deshon, Demontray, DeJanae and Danariea; 4 sisters, her twin Marfrances Howze of North Chicago, Elizabeth Williams, Marcelene Dew Berry, Rev. Omigine Proctor all of Spartanburg, SC; 5 brothers Buford of Cowpen, SC, Kenneth of Washington, DC, James, Augustus Jr., both of Maryland, Willie Proctor of Gaffney, SC; a sister-in-law, Ola Mae Franklin of St. Louis, MO; and a host of nieces and nephews including a dear friend Irene Steele (Big Fatty).
She was preceded in death by her father and mother Augustus and Velma Proctor; 2 sisters Catherine Brewton and Annie Lyles; and a brother Roosevelt Proctor.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, November 26, 2002 at the St. John Baptist Church, 708 Greenwood Ave., Waukegan, IL. Rev. Jimmie O. Johnson, Pastor, with Rev. Fred Williams officiating. Darlene Williams
Darlene Williams, 59, a lifelong resident of Waukegan, IL went home to be with the Lord on November 20, 2002 at the Victory Memorial Hospital, Waukegan, IL.
Darlene was a faithful member of the Gideon Missionary Baptist Church, Waukegan where she served the Lord as an usher and first-aider. Darlene was Director of Community Support Services at the Lake County Health Department for 12 years. Prior to that she was a head nurse for the Veterans Affairs and St. Therese Hospitals. She was an active member of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, a loving and devoted Girl Scout Leader along with a host of other community involvements.
Darlene leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Alberta Dunklin of Phoenix, AZ; a loving husband, Robert Williams of Waukegan; two daughters, Tamara (Charles) Davis of Zion and Tonya Williams of Waukegan; a grandson, Darrien Davis; two granddaughters, Brittne and Briana Davis; an aunt, Gladys Jones of Wisconsin; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willie J. Dunklin.

Eleanore J. Swieton
Eleanore J. Swieton, 82, of Round Lake Beach, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born March 16, 1922 in Chicago to Joseph and Katherine (Smalec) Marcinkiewicz.
Formerly of Chicago, Eleanore resided in Round Lake Beach for over 50 years.
She was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Church in Round Lake. At church, she was an avid bingo player and enjoyed socializing with friends under her health declined in recent years.
Her most important accomplishment was raising her family, and spending time with her family was a favorite pastime of Eleanore's.
She is survived by a daughter, Katherine (Terry) Vandenboom of Round Lake; six sons, Robert (Kathleen) Swieton of Round Lake Beach, Gerald (Donna) Swieton of Round Lake Beach, Kenneth (the late Ellen) Swieton of Huntington, West Virginia, Dennis (Lynn) Swieton of Libertyville, Michael (Pat) Swieton of Round Lake, William (Yvonne) Swieton of Johnsburg; 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Mary Pociask and Stella (Tepper) Solecki.
Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2004 at Justen's Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 W. North Rosedale Ct. (at Cedar Lake Rd.), Round Lake, IL 60073.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 27 at St. Joseph Church, 114 N. Lincoln Ave., Round Lake.
Interment will be in St. Adalbert cemetery, Niles.
