Fred Cemashko
Fred Cemashko, 80 of Lindenhurst, IL passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center, Lindenhurst, IL.
He was born on June 7, 1922 in Staten Island, New York, the son of the late Dimitry and Antonina (Sliz) Cemashko. He graduated from Curtis High School, Staten Island and from New York University. He was a resident of Lindenhurst for the past 4 years, having moved from Naperville, IL where he resided for 32 years He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lake Villa and was a past member of St. Raphael Church in Naperville. He was retired from Bell Laboratories (Lucent) after 35 years of service. He married
Helen Slocum on May 24, 1944 in St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York City.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; his children, Barbara (Michael) Diamond of California, Virginia Cemashko of California, Patricia (Timothy) Canty of Libertyville, Margaret (Dan) Jaynes of Iowa and Sharon Cemashko (Lisa Smith) of Rantoul; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Jonathan, Matthew, Sarah, David, Sean, Brian, Peter and Richard; and his brother, Peter Cemashko of New Jersey.
Funeral Services will begin at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 23, 2002 from Ringa Funeral Home, 122 S. Rte. 83, Lake Villa, IL. To Prince of Peace Church for a 10 A.M. funeral mass. Interment private. The family will meet with friends and relatives on Friday from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Prince of Peace Church or The Salvation Army.
Shirley S. Gilio
Shirley S. Gilio, 82 years old of Antioch, IL., passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at the Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL.
She was born September 30, 1920 in Chicago the daughter of the late August and Florence (Peters) Knierim, moving to Antioch in 1949. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #4551 of Antioch. On April 15, 1944 she married
Nicholas Gilio in Chicago and he preceded her in death on August 29, 1993.
Survivors include: one daughter, Carol (Robert) Stengel of Antioch and one son, Paul (Theresa) Gilio of Lindenhurst, IL., one sister June Gaywin of Chicago and three grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2002 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH,1055 Main St., (Rte. 83). Interment will be in Millburn cemetery, Millburn, IL. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of services.
Mary Louise Gunia
Mary Louise Gunia, 58, died Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at Condell Medical Center. Born January 19, 1944 in Oak Park to Samuel and Lucille (nee Stupay) Hovanesian.
On September 24, 1966 she married
Anthony S. Gunia in Chicago. Mary was raised as a child in Honey Creek, Wisconsin. Before moving to Round Lake Park in 1968, she had lived in Broadview.
Educated in the nursing profession, Mary graduated from St. Ann's School of Nursing in 1962. She was employed at Hines V.A. Hospital and after moving to Round Lake Park, worked for Dr. G.A. Goshgarian in Round Lake. Mary was the Executive Secretary for the Lake County Fair Association for over 15 years, the secretary-treasurer of Northern Zone Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs, past Director and most recently for the last three years, information Specialist for the Lake County Convention and Visitor Bureau. She was a member of St. Joseph Church.
Survivors include her husband, Anthony of Round Lake Park; a sister, Martha (the late Andrew) Mirek of Mt. Prospect; father-in-law, Stanley Gunia of Lake Villa; sisters-in-law, Barb (Jack) Solak of Schaumburg and Tina (Albert) Wysocki of Lake Villa; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Clarence Gandee; and mother-in-law, Anna Gunia.
Visitation will be 4 to 9PM on Friday, November 22, 2002 at Justen's Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court (at Cedar Lake Road), Round Lake, IL 60073. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30AM Saturday, November 23, 2002 at St. Joseph Church, 114 N. Lincoln Avenue , Round Lake. Interment in St. Mary's cemetery, Burlington, Wisconsin.

William Max Kapheim
William Max Kapheim, 82, of Lindenhurst, passed away Monday, November 18, 2002 at Condell Medical Center. He was born September 24, 1920 in North Chicago and was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lake Villa. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion North Chicago Sharvin Post and V.F.W. #04308. He retired from International Harvester as a tool designer and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include a daughter Joan (Lee) Kramer of Fresno, CA; 2 grandchildren Justin Lee Kramer and Jordan Lynn Kramer; and 2 sisters Mildred Kerr of Fayetteville, NC and Dorothy Landers of South Pasadena, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary in 1994.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2002 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Rt. 83 and Grand Ave. in Lake Villa. Burial will be at Ascension cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF LINDENHURST, 1840 East Grand Ave. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Loretta Mateja (nee Rajuniec), 87 of Kenosha and formerly of North Chicago, died Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at the Sheridan Medical Complex, Kenosha.
She was born March 16, 1915 in North Chicago and lived most of her life there until moving to Kenosha in 1980. She was a member of Holy Rosary/Queen of Peace Church, and the Ladies Altar and Rosary Sodality.
Loretta is survived by her son Bill (Beverley) of Kenosha, three granddaughters; Debra (Rick) Nunn of Waukegan, Pamela (Bill) Duncan of Salem, WI., and Katherine (Randy) Oster of Kenosha, WI.: five great-grandchildren; Frank Worklan, Spencer Duncan, Jake, Emma and Lillian Oster: two sisters; Jean (the late Leo) Blackowicz of North Chicago and Elizabeth Sutton of Scottsdale, AZ.: two brothers; Larry (Annie) Ryan and Henry Rajuniec of Peoria, AZ.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Bruno in 1979, parents; Joseph and Catherine (nee Hagen), step-mother, Natalya Serzynski, four brothers; Edwin Rajuniec, Edward Ryan, Al Serzynski and Felix Serzynski.

Erma Francis Murphy
Erma Francis Murphy, age 87, of Deerbrook, WI passed away at her home on November 2, 2002 at her home. She was born on April 3, 1915, the daughter of William Llewellyn and Anna O'Neil.
She married
Allen Murphy on March 19, 1938 at St. James Catholic Church in Highwood, IL who then preceded her on March 16, 1999. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Elcho. A graduate of Highland Park High School. Erma lived in Highland Park, IL for many years, moved to Summit Lake in 1979.

Robertson
Carol B. Robertson, 80, of Waukegan passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2002 at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion. She was born February 15, 1922 in Waukegan and has been a lifelong area resident.
Carol was a member of St. Anastasia Church, worked at Great Lakes in the recreation department and was a teacher in the Waukegan school district for 20 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara R. (Dr. Charles) Greiner and grandchildren, Chaney Bay and Laken Charles Greiner.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Anna (nee Laren) Bidinger.

Mrs. Wanda Marie Sanders left this earthly life to be with God on November 19, 2002. She confessed her belief in God at an early age. She was a servant of God and a faithful member of Greater Faith Church in Waukegan, IL. Her parents, Emmanuel M. and Mattie Louise Jones preceded her in death.

Mathilda "Grandma Cookie" Trnovec (nee Cerk), 92, of Waukegan, died Monday, November 18, 2002 at her home.
Tillie was born May 26, 1910 in North Chicago and lived in this area all of her life.
She volunteered as a North Chicago Election Judge and was a member of the Waukegan and North Chicago Women's Club, The Bonnie Brook Golf and was an avid bridge player, earning Masters points.
Tillie is survived by her son, William (Barbara (nee Paugel)) Trnovec of Gurnee; and daughter, Diana Ulrich of Wadsworth; six grandchildren, William, Michael (Lori), Steven Trnovec and Mary Lee (Randy) Dammann, Andrea (Jay) Tucker and Sandra (Curt) Buetow; 14 great grandchildren; a sister, Irene Petterbridge; two sisters-in-law, Frances Cerk and Sylvia Rankin; and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul (1996); her parents, Charles and Hermine (nee Munarini); a son-in-law, Donn (Buzz) Ulrich; a great grandson, Arturo Colin; two brothers, William Cerk and Louis Cerk; and a sister, Olga Jasovic.
