Elizabeth Kelley Beck
Elizabeth Kelley Beck, 98, of Waukegan passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at her home. She was born December 25, 1904 in Somerville, MA and came to Waukegan along with her husband, Dr. Kenneth C. Beck in 1936. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Waukegan.
She is survived by her children, Katharine (Roger) Faulkner, W. Benjamin (Kathryn) Beck both of Lake Villa; grandchildren, Kerry, Kristine, Kimberly, Jonathan, Mark and David; and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM in the Lady Chapel at Christ Episcopal Church, 410 Grand Ave, Waukegan Monday, November 24, 2003. Friends may call from 10:15 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth's memory may be made to your favorite charity.
Arrangements are under the direction of Peterson & Patch Funeral Home, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan.

John H. Campbell
John H. Campbell, 89, of Libertyville, IL, passed away Monday, November 17, 2003 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born December 28, 1913 in Detroit, MI, was a former resident of West Bloomfield, MI, living in Libertyville for the past six years. He was a 1931 graduate of Northwestern High School in Detroit and was a graduate of the Detroit College of Business. John was the former business manager for the Detroit YMCA and served as an accountant for Waterston's Machinery and Supply in Royal Oak. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield and attended the Evangelical Free Church in Libertyville.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Beatrice Campbell; and daughters, Laura (Michael) Johnston of Libertyville and Joyce (Kim Goldman) Campbell of Kempton, PA; two grandchildren, Jessica and Jane Johnston of Libertyville; and his sister, Betty (Bill) Maul of Redford, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Lily Campbell; by his son, Jack in 1996; and also by four sisters and two brothers.
Interment services were held on Thursday, November 20 at the Grand Lawn cemetery in Detroit. A memorial service followed by a time of fellowship and light dinner will be held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25 at the Evangelical Free Church, Austin and Garfield Avenues in Libertyville. Memorial contributions can be made to either the Salvation Army or Evangelical Free Church in his memory. Arrangements are by the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME in Libertyville.

Joseph P. Hirt
Joseph P. Hirt, 46, of Mundelein, IL, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born January 26, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio and was raised in Danville, IL. He was a 1975 graduate of Schlarnan High School in Danville and a 1979 graduate of the University of Illinois. Following college, joe served with the Peace Corps in Africa for two years, later returning for his masters degree in engineering management at Northwestern University.
Joe was currently the Director of Research and Development for the V. Mueller Division of the Cardinal Health Corporation. He was also a very active member of the Evangelical Free Church in Libertyville, where he served as a Christian Education leader with various Jr. High youth groups, organizing youth activities and mission trips.
Surviving are his wife, Jamie; and three daughters, Emily, Lucy and Polly Hirt, all of Mundelein; his father, John L. Hirt of Champaign; two sisters, Gretchen (Tom) Brown of Champaign and Molly (Scott) Arnold of Normal; four brothers, Tony (Peggy) Hirt of Grosse Pointe Shores, MI, Tom (Vanessa) Hirt and Jim Hirt, both of McKinney, TX, and Steve (Tamara) Hirt of Seattle, WA; his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Nell Bliler of Shelbyville, IL; brother-in-law, Scott (Terry) Bliler of Mundelein; and 16 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kay Hirt.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Evangelical Free Church, Garfield and Austin Avenues, Libertyville. A private family graveside service will be held Monday morning at the Lakeside cemetery in Libertyville. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, November 24 at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Evangelical Free Church, 431 W. Austin Ave., Libertyville, IL 60048. Arrangements are by the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME in Libertyville.

Herbert W. Krug
Herbert W. Krug, 50, of Waukegan, passed away at his home Saturday, November 15, 2003. He was born in Waukegan July 21, 1953, son of the late Herbert and Margaret (nee Newman) Krug.
He worked as a dispatcher for Yellow Cab of Waukegan.
He is survived by his sisters, Judi Pruitt of Chatsville, GA, and Ruthann (Jim) Keevan of Lindenhurst; and his nieces, Margie and Elizabeth Keevan of Lindenhurst.
Funeral service is at 12PM Saturday, November 22, 2003 at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, LTD., 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60039. Interment is at Avon Centre cemetery in Grayslake, IL. Visitation is on Saturday from 10AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to PADS, 3001 Greenbay Rd., North Chicago, IL 60086. Marjorie "Marge" Morgan
Marjorie "Marge" Morgan, 65, of Zion, died on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at the Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion. Marge was born October 2, 1938 in Carrollton, Mississippi and moved to Zion from Chicago in 1977. She married Walter Morgan in 1953 in Mississippi and retired from Cherry Electric in Waukegan in 1997 after 20 years of service. Marge was a former member of the Masonic Eastern Star. She will be greatly missed by her children and friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Terri (Dennis) Moore, Paula (Daniel) Cheeks and Annette Mitchell all of Zion; and a son, Norman Morgan of Indiana; eight grandchildren, Misti, Danny, Jamie, Krystal, Daniel, Tamara, Angelique and Sean; a great grandchild who lived with her, Haylee; and by 11 step great grandchildren; a brother, Paul (Ellen) Jones of Greenville, Miss; and sisters, Christine (Wade) Campbell of Greenwood, Miss, Mary (Preston) Wiltshire also of Greenwood, Miss and Ruby (Jimmy) Whitt of Greenville, Miss. Marge is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Vera Myers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter in 1997; by her mother and father, Paul and Loyce Jones; and by a sister, Francis Brock.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2003 at 3 PM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion with Lay Minister Sue Harris officiating. Visitation will be from 1 PM until time of services at the funeral home. Interment will be private for the family.

Leslie L. Pagel, Jr.
Leslie L. Pagel, Jr., 49, of Green Oaks, IL, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at his home. He was born December 19, 1953 in Oconto Falls, WI, was a former resident of Naperville, living in Green Oaks for the past eight years. He was a 1972 graduate of Oconto Falls High School and received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Les was the Vice President of Platform and Product Management for the C&H; Global Corporation in Burr Ridge and was a member of numerous engineering organizations.
Surviving are his wife Margaret Pagel and three children, Caryl, Paul and Mike Pagel, all of Green Oaks; his mother Jeanette (Robert) Arndt of Suring, WI; two sisters, Sandra (Don) Shave of Sussex, WI and Amy (Tom) VandenLangenberg of Green Bay, WI; three brothers, Dan (Marie) Pagel and Randy (Maureen) Pagel, both of Oconto Falls and Brian Pagel of Green Bay. He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie L. Pagel, Sr. and by his sister Kathy.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 22 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Cancer Wellness Center in Northbrook.

Mamie V. Worthington
Mamie Valerie Worthington was born February 14, 1957 to James and Evertis Gilmore. She accepted the Lord in her life at an early age. She unexpectedly departed this life on Tuesday, November 18, 2003 in Houston, Texas. She was a graduate of Zion-Benton High School in Zion and attended colleges in Illinois and Texas. She was employed by the Port of Houston.
She leaves to continue celebrating her life her husband, William; three sons, Eric, Douglas and William Jr.; two daughters, Elouise (Israel) Burks and Karen Worthington; a grandson, Eric Jr.; three granddaughters, Ayesha, Tia and Isabelle; her father, James (Fannie) Gilmore; four sisters, Bertha (James) Oliver, Jeanell (Reggie) Hooker, Rita (Johnnie) Jones and Tonjia (Del) Yarbrough; six brothers, Roy (Tina) Gilmore, Raymond (Wanda) Gilmore, Eric Gilmore, Rodney (Rose) Gilmore, Alexis (Carolyn) Gilmore and Gregory (Tonya) Gilmore; a very special mother-in-law, Eloise Worthington; a special uncle and aunt, George and Gladys Fullilove; a very special sister-in-law, Michelle Haskins; a very special friend, Linda Cobb; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evertis Gilmore; and a sister, Gracie Gilmore.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at 11 AM at Christian Faith Fellowship Church, 1727 27th Street, Zion, Illinois with Bishop Joseph Coburn Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 AM until time of services at Christina Faith Fellowship Church. Ralph J. Barnes
Ralph J. Barnes, 76, of Wheaton and formerly a longtime resident of Glen Ellyn, died Sunday, November 18, 2001 at his home. He was born August 17, 1925 in Obion County, Tennessee. Mr. Barnes was a member of CTU International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 301 and 710. He also was member of Wheaton Lodge 269 A.F. & A.M. and Perrottet-Nickerson American Legion Post #76.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lorretta; one daughter, Barbara (Jim) Pohlman of Wheaton; one granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Pohlman; one sister, Pearl Zuhde of Kenosha, WI; two brothers, Woodrow W. Barnes of Gary, IN and Robert (Charlene) Barnes of Wadsworth; and many nephews, nieces and godchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2001 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at the HULTGREN FUNERAL HOME, 304 N. Main Street, Wheaton, where services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Wheaton cemetery. For more information, call the funeral home at (630) 668-0027.

Brad James Brennan
Brad James Brennan, 24, of Round Lake Beach passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 18, 2001 as the result of an auto accident.
A life long resident of Round Lake Beach. Brad was employed at Moore Business Communications Services in Mundelein the past five years. Member of Bally's Health Club in Vernon Hills. Brad also studied the art of Jujitsu.
He leaves his mother, Diane (Richard) Mahoney of Round Lake Beach; his father, Donald (Sheree) Brennan of Round Lake Beach; a sister, Brandilyn Brennan of Ingleside; a brother, Brian Brennan of Round Lake Beach; half brother, Jason Brooks of Fox Lake; maternal grandmother, Yolande Kristiansen of Round Lake; paternal grandfather, James R. Brennan of Round Lake; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Kristiansen; paternal grandmother, Mary Brennan; and his uncle, Robert Kristiansen.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, November 21, 2001 at the STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATORIUM, LTD, 410 E. Belvidere Rd, Grayslake, IL, 60030 with the Rev. Lisle J. Kauffman of the Calvary Presbyterian Church of Round Lake officiating. Interment will follow at Avon Centre cemetery in Grayslake.
Friends of the family may visit at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 11:30 until time of services.

Mary "Marie" Gruber (nee Boylan)
Mass of Christian Burial for Mary "Marie" Gruber (nee Boylan), 74, of Mundelein is 10 AM Wednesday at Santa Maria del Popolo Chapel. Interment will follow in Ascension cemetery, Libertyville.
She was born January 29, 1927 in Chicago and died Monday, November 19, 2001 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Marie was a member of Santa Maria del Popolo Parish in Mundelein.
She is survived by her two sons, Fred (Katy) Gruber and Tom (Joni) Gruber; two sisters, Margaret Boylan and Katherine Cronin; three grandchildren, Ryan, Lindsey and Kevin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; sisters, Barbara and Cecelia; and her parents, Thomas and Mary Boylan.
Visitation is TODAY from 4 to 8 PM at the KRISTAN FUNERAL HOME, P.C., 219 W. Maple Ave. (Route 176), Mundelein.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Mundelein Fire Department, 1000 N. Midlothian Rd, Mundelein, IL, 60060.

Russell Victor Halvorsen
Russell Victor Halvorsen, 94 years old of South Beloit, IL formerly of Antioch, passed away Monday, October 29, 2001 at his home. He was born January 11, 1907 in Chicago, the son of the late Nicholas and Anna (Mathisen) Halvorsen. He lived on Grass Lake in Antioch since 1932 moving to Wadsworth in 1985. He married Kathrine Elizabeth Anzinger on July 16, 1932 in Glenwood, MN and she preceded him in death on January 29, 1993. At that time he moved to South Beloit. Russell was an electrical engineer with Western Electric for over 34 years. He had also been a member of the National Guard in Chicago.
Survivors include two sons, John (Elaine "Pat") of Wadsworth, IL and George (Pastor Gloria Scot) of Beloit, WI; four grandchildren, Tim (Cindy) and Tom (Leora) both of Beloit, WI, Ken of Fox Lake, IL and Jeff (Jenni) of Mundelein, IL; two step-grandchildren, Dianna Ceso and David Mateja both of Wadsworth, IL; three great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by ten sisters and brothers.
Memorial funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, November 23, 2001 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte 83) Antioch. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation in his memory.

Ronald T. Hill
Ronald T. Hill, age 69, a Fox Lake resident and businessman for the last 46 years and former resident of Chicago died at his home on November 19, 2001. He was born in Chicago, Illinois March 26, 1932. He was the Owner of Grossman Plumbing Co., in Fox Lake for the past 30 years. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army and a longtime member of the Lakes Region American Legion Post 703 in Fox Lake. He was a graduate of Grant Community High School, Class of 1950.
Survivors include his wife Betty Hill nee Turnau with whom he was united in marriage to on August 24, 1952; three sons: Steve (Cindy) Hill of Ingleside, David (Susan) Hill of Naperville and Ronald (Cheryl) Hill of Lakeville, MN; four grandsons: Tom, Ryan, Jake and Taylor; five granddaughters: Tracy, Megen, Gabby, Maddy and Savanna; his brothers Major (Evelyn) Hill and Robert (Mary) Hill, all of Florida; and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by one brother Richard.
Friends of the family may call on Tuesday, November 20, 2001 from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Wednesday, November 21, 2001 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the K. K. HAMSHER FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road, Fox Lake (in the Chapel on the Lake). Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lisle J. Kauffman. Interment will follow at Fox Lake cemetery. For those who wish, memorials for the American Cancer Society will be appreciated. Information, please call (847) 587-2100.
