Gaspar A. Goshgarian, M.D.
Gaspar A. Goshgarian, M.D., 90, a well known and highly respected physician and surgeon in Lake County, IL, died on Sunday, March 10, at home.
Dr. Goshgarian was born in Tadem, an Armenian village in Anatolia, in 1911. He came to Waukegan, IL as a small boy. He attended schools in Waukegan, went to the University of Illinois, and graduated medical school in 1936. He opened his medical office in Round Lake, IL in 1938 where he practiced for 50 years. He was on the medical staff at St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan from 1937 on and president of that staff many times. He was one of the busiest surgeons in Lake County through the fifties. He was also a powerful community figure having helped form the consolidated school system in Round Lake, the First State Bank of Round Lake, the Round Lake Bulletin Newspaper, and the former Home Savings and Loan in Grayslake, IL. A firm believer in education, Dr. Goshgarian helped establish and was present at the dedication of the first Chair of Armenian Studies in the United States at Harvard University. In later years, he made a significant contribution to the Round Lake Public Library to greatly increase their collection of books. Dr. Goshgarian was a civic minded person who gave to many charities including the YMCA, the Salvation Army and the Armenian General Benevolent Union. In addition, he was a great golfer "scratch" from the time he was a young man. He played with many champions, including Sam Sneed, Byron Nelson, Babe Didrikson, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Ed Manoyan.
Dr. Goshgarian is survived by his four children David (Cindy), Dr. Gerard (Mary), Julie (Robert) Marso and Judge John (Jeanne) Goshgarian, as well as 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann Van Hoof Goshgarian, his brother, Robert A. Goshgarian, D.D.S., and his sisters, Araxie Elliot and Ashgen "Alice" Richter. Ethel P. Hampson
(nee Hansen)
Ethel P. Hampson (nee Hansen), 78, of Gurnee passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2002 in Libertyville. She was born January 26, 1924 in Waukegan and had attended Waukegan Public Schools. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a charter member of Faith Methodist Church in Waukegan. She was an election judge for many years and also worked at the Waukegan News Sun in classifieds and she belonged to the Danish Sisterhood.
She is survived by her daughter Joyce (Tony) Sciacca; a son William (Jeannette) Hampson; 2 grandchildren Heather (Scott) Sipe and William Hampson.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2002 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Janet Miller officiating.
Jean C. Jasper
Jean C. Jasper, 78, of Winthrop Harbor died on Monday, March 11, 2002 at her home following a long illness.
She was born February 12, 1924 in Lake Villa and has resided in Winthrop Harbor for the past 53 years. She was a graduate of Waukegan Township High School, the class of 1941. On January 2, 1942 she married
Robert Jasper of Winthrop Harbor at the First Methodist Church in Waukegan and together she and Bob were current active members of Winthrop Harbor United Methodist Church. She spent 22 years as an employee of Zion State Bank, was one of the founders of the Girl Scout movement in Winthrop Harbor, was the Charter President of American Legion Auxiliary and was active in and supportive of the Winthrop Harbor Lions Club along with her husband Bob. Jean devoted much of her time to family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Bob; children Sandra (David) Drew of Annapolis, Maryland, Leslie (Rich) Heberlein of Citrus Heights, California, Robin (Bill) Sprague of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin and James (Stacy) Jasper of Longmont, Colorado; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two sisters Ruth Alice (David) Conklin of Elkhorn, Wisconsin and Faye (Ed) Radeke of Dallas, Texas; and special family friends Gene and Marlys Heckel of Silver Lake, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her father and mother James M. and Cora A. Cannon.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Winthrop Harbor United Methodist Church, 600 College Avenue, Winthrop Harbor with Pastor Gary Hougen officiating. There will be no visitation. CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to the Winthrop Harbor United Methodist Church have been suggested.

Frankie Marie Lloyd (White), 67, of Des Plaines, died Monday, March 4, 2002 at Holy Family Medical Center, Des Plaines.
Private family visitation was held at River Woods Funeral Chapel, Des Plaines, on Wednesday, March 6, followed by cremation at Cremation Services.
She is preceded in death by her father, Aubrey Clare White, her mother, Fonda Leah (Childress), and her sister, Leah Benton (Johnson). She is survived by her daughter, Dana Lloyd; daughter Keli (Richard), granddaughter Tina and grandson Steven Miritello; her son, Scott Lloyd; her son, David, grandsons Joshua, Jordan and Jacob, granddaughter Rachel Lloyd.
Olga Maslarevic
Olga Maslarevic, 65, of Round Lake Beach, IL, passed away Monday, March 11, 2002 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born July 15, 1936 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia and came to live in the United States in 1975. She was a former resident of Pittsburg, CA and has lived in Round Lake Beach for the past 3 years.
Surviving are her husband Milorad; 3 children, Milanka (Lou) Srejovic and Zoran Maslarevic, both of Libertyville and Jackie Maslarevic of Pittsburg, CA; 5 grandchildren, Petar, Marina, Oney, Michael and Christine; her brother Slobodan Colic of Camarillo, CA and sisters, Militca and Ljiljan of Yugoslavia.
Prayers will begin at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, March 14 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville and continue to The Most Holy Mother of God Serbian Orthodox Monastery in Third Lake for funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the monastery cemetery. Ruby Jewel Smith, 76, of Wildwood passed away Monday, March 11, 2002 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born October 1, 1925 in Earle, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Harrison Littlejohn and Lula Brazile.
She leaves her daughters Barbara (August) Baumgart of Grayslake, Judy (Tom) Shepherd of Round Lake Beach and Peggy (Dennis) Kurek of Harvard, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren and her sister-in-law Christine Littlejohn of Earle, Arkansas. She is preceeded in death by her husband Peter Howard Smith on September 8, 1995, sisters Jeanette Williams and Ottice Shepherd, brothers Bernice and Hollis Littlejohn.
Funeral Services will be held at the STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030 at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2002 with the Rev. Lisle J. Kauffman of the Calvary Presbyterian Church of Round Lake officiating. Interment will follow at Avon Centre cemetery in Grayslake. Aysia Alexandryia Elaine Tanner was born in the year of our Lord October 9, 2001 and went home to be with our Lord on March 9, 2002.
Aysia was born to Cristine Tanner and Eddie Davis Jr.
Aysia was with us for only five (5) months. Those months were filled with much joy and happiness. She was full of life. We called her "Baby Doll" because she was truly a beautiful doll.

Debbie Lynn Echavarria (Purcell)
Debbie Lynn (Purcell) Echavarria, 50, of Kenosha passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at Kenosha Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Chicago, Illinois on February 8, 1954, a daughter of the late Paul and Violette (Borowski) Artman. She was educated in the schools of Illinois. She came to Kenosha from Waukegan in 1994 to make her home. She had been married
to John Purcell, he preceded her in death. She then married
Demetrio Echavarria.
She had been employed at American Financial Solutions, she then was office manager at Professional Lawn Care Services in Kenosha.
She was a member of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church. An avid fisherwoman, gardener and bingo player.
Surviving are her husband, Demetrio Echavarria; a daughter, Jennifer (John) Edgerton of Kenosha; a brother, Paul (Judy) Artman of Johnsburg, IL; a sister, Susan Witek of Lakemoor, IL; a granddaughter, Catalina Sandoval; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. She also is survived by dear friends, Sheila Garland, Linda and Paul Stratton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John Purcell; a brother, Ronald Lee Artman; and a sister, Paulette Duffy; and her brother-in-law, Richard Witek.
Funeral services for Debbie Lynn (Purcell) Echavarria will be held on Saturday, March 13th from PROKO FUNERAL HOME, 5111 - 60th ST. at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Warren cemetery in Gurnee, Illinois. Visitation was held on Friday from 5 to 7 PM at Proko Funeral Home.
Harold Curtis Freeman
Harold Curtis Freeman, age 71, passed away at home in Chicago on Wednesday, March 10, 2004. He was born on December 12, 1932 in Logan County, West Virginia, to Joseph and Polly Freeman. He had lived in Lakemoor, IL., for 30 years before moving to Chicago. He was a painter by trade. He was a Veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; seven children, Virginia Gasser (Mike) of Round Lake, Sue Brock of Round Lake, Jeaninne (Joe) Bender of Round Lake, Mary Ruth "Candie" (John) Bender of Round Lake, Helen (David) Harris of Nettelton, MS., Harold (Curtis, Buddy) Jr. Freeman of Chicago, Billy Alan Freeman of McHenry, IL; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Donald (Becky) Freeman of Denton, TX., Sammy (Arlene) Freeman of Chicago, Herman (Barbara) Freeman of Burlington, WI., brother-in-law, Murl Ellis of Kentucky; seven sisters, Margie Freeman of Chicago, Patsy (John) Buechner of Port Orange, FL., Edna (George) Garbacz of McHenry, Betty (Mike) Mickelson of Pueblo, CO., Goldie (Sonny) Withrow of McHenry, Lucy (Larry) Mauch of Denton, TX., Dotty (Clifford) Stratton of Taylorville, NC., and sister-in-law, Lenore Freeman of Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Timothy Lloyd Hoppe
Timothy Lloyd Hoppe, age 55 went home to be with his Lord, March 7, 2004 from Bigfork Valley Hospital in Bigfork, MN.
He was preceded in death by his father, Julius Fred Hoppe; and his mother, Gertrude Ruby Hoppe.
He is survived by four brothers, Julius Vern Hoppe of Zion, IL, Phillip Leroy Hoppe of Joliet, IL, James Fred Hoppe of Lakewood, CO and William David Hoppe of Balsam, MN.
Visitation 1 p.m. Saturday March 13 at the Balsam Bible Chapel followed by funeral at 1:30. Memorial service will also be held Monday, March 15, 6 p.m. at Shepherd's, Highway 11 in Union Grove, WI where Tim lived the past 29 years prior to his surgery this past January 8.
Tim lived with his family in Zion the first 26 years of his life.

Gladys was married
to James Meehan, the father of her seven children, for 27 years; then to her beloved Roy Augustin for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Katherine Gemskie (nee Balmes), and stepfather, John Molitor; her brothers, George and Art Gemskie; and sister, Marie Brei. She is also survived by her brother, James (Dolly) Molitor.
As our Dear mother passed from this world to the next, she was surrounded by her loving children. She was at peace and surrounded by love.

Loretta Ann NeSmith, 46, of Nauvoo, AL, died Saturday, February 28, 2004 at her residence.

Eduardo Oscar Rodriguez
Eduardo Oscar Rodriguez was a caring and loving father and grandfather. He loved to drink mate and play cards. All who were blessed to have known him will always remember his warm smile.
At the age of 62, Eduardo Oscar of Round Lake Beach, IL passed away Sunday, February 8, 2004 in Naples, Florida. He will be greatly missed. He was born May 1, 1941 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a son of the late Eduardo and Delia (Matassa) Rodriguez. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Chicago & Northeast Illinois District Council of Carpenters Local 250.
Survivors include his loving wife Nelida Rodriguez of Round Lake Beach; son, Adrian Rodriguez of Tampa, FL; daughter, Patricia (Vincent) Cicha of Wausau, WI; sister Maria E. (Vince) Falcone of Bonita Springs, FL; two grand daughters, Samantha Alexis and Sabrina Alyse; two nephews, Eduardo Falcone of Estero, FL, and Juan Pesce-Rodriguez of Fort Myers, FL; and one niece, Noemi Martinsky of Statford, CT.
The family received friends from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, at Walter Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home. A memorial Mass will be held for family and friends at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Round Lake, on Sunday, March 13 at 1 p.m. Father Don Lund will officiate.
Larry H. Rucks
Larry H. Rucks, 65, of Zion, died on Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at Hospice Alliance in Kenosha, WI.
Larry was born December 23, 1938 and grew up in Augusta, WI, son of the late Evelyn and Henry Rucks; brother of the late Verlyn E. Rucks. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Zion.
Husband of the late Maryann Wilburn Rucks. Larry is survived by two sons, Jerry (Teri) Wilburn and Don (Lynn) Wilburn; one niece, Cindy (Joseph) Buschek; and two nephews, Henry Rucks and Lee Rucks with a great-nephew and great-nieces. On the Wilburn side he is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 15, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, with Pastor Jack Kelly of Our Savior's Lutheran Church officiating.
