Alicia M. "Lee" Trybom
Alicia M. "Lee" (nee Rankin) Trybom, 69, of Beach Park, died November 17, 2003 after a lengthy illness. She was born May 10, 1934 to Isabelle and Richard Rankin and was a lifelong resident of Lake County.
Lee was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Wadsworth. She was also a member of Bonnie Brook Women's Golf Assn. and was an avid golfer.
She and her husband, Moe, owned and operated the famous Rustic Manor restaurant in Gurnee for 40 years before its devastating fire in 1987 which forced the business to close.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathi Mesmer of Beach Park; son, Marvin V. Trybom Jr. of Minneapolis, MN; daughter-in-law, Jodi Trybom of Beach Park; five grandchildren, Kristi Mesmer, Matthew Trybom, Jamie Abendroth, Dawn (Chris) Paterson, Melissa Mesmer; six great grandchildren, Colton and Zoe Paterson, Noel Jenkins, Jacob, Savannah and Rachel Abendroth.
She is also survived by a sister, Marcella (Dave) Killingsworth; extended family, Dee Abendroth, Kathie Abendroth, Kathie and Tony Stanley; sister-in-law, Marjorie Doyle; many nieces, nephews and good friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Moe on July 13, 2002; son, Victor Trybom in 1995; niece, Nancy; nephew, Michael; and parents and step parents.
Funeral services will be 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at Peterson & Patch Funeral Home, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan, with Father Patrick Cecil officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Catholic Charities or a charity of your choice.

Dorothy Westergaard-Kepner
Dorothy Westergaard-Kepner, age 84, Beloved mother of Ron (Alice), Errol (Dolores), Doug (Vicki) and Russ (Ann) passed away Sunday a.m. after a very brief illness.
Dorothy and her husband, Emil, raised their family in Mundelein, IL before retiring to Mountain Home, AR, in 1975.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Emil, in 1983; her second husband, Bob Kepner, in 1998; her son, Jon; and her two brothers and two sisters.
Dorothy is survived by her four sons, 16 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 353 Highway 5 N, Mountain Home, AR 72653.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 19, at the Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home in Mountain Home, AR.

Jerry Michael Whitson
Jerry Michael Whitson, 54, of Newport News, Virginia, formerly of Mattoon and Litchfield, died Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at 1:21 p.m. at his home. He was born in Charleston, IL, on September 12, 1949, a son of Jack D. and Irma Leone (McHenry) Whitson.
He graduated from Antioch High School in 1967 in Antioch, IL, and then graduated from Swathmore College in Swarthmore, PA. He was a U.S. Army veteran working in the Criminal Investigation Division for over ten years.
He is survived by three sisters, Sharon Hayes of Litchfield, Pat Strong of Litchfield, and Cathy Hartke and husband Rick of Prospect Heights, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Jack David Whitson and infant Terry Whitson.
Memorial service will be held Sunday, November 23, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield. Rev. Jay Johnson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Camp Butler National cemetery in Springfield. The family suggests memorials to either Litchfield Food Pantry or Coats For Kids.

Gladys R. Anthony
Gladys R. Anthony, 90, a resident of Hawthorn Lakes in Vernon Hills since 1995, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at her home. She had been living with her daughter in Grayslake for the past three years. She was born November 13, 1914 in Copake, NY and was a former resident of Saratoga Springs, NY, where she owned and operated the Anthony Guest House until 1985. Gladys was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Libertyville.
Surviving are her daughter, Ruth St. John of Grayslake; two grandchildren, Ed (Lydia) St. John of Deerfield and Karen (Jeff) Vandenberg of Madison, WI; her great grandchildren, Luke Anthony and Emelina Laura St. John.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hayward and Jacy Seaman; her husband, Malcolm Anthony on September 13, 1995; her brother, Russell Seaman and son-in-law, Jim St. John in 1997.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2004 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville with the Rev. J.D. Millar officiating. Interment services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Poughkeepsie Rural cemetery in New York. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services on Sunday. Memorials contributions may be made to either Condell Hospice or the Salvation Army. .

Clarence R. Burns
Clarence R. Burns, 70, of Winthrop Harbor, died on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at home, following a battle with cancer.
Clarence was born July 27, 1934 in Grand Junction, CO and came to this area in 1953, while serving in the U.S. Navy and stationed at Great Lakes. He retired in 1997, after 35 years with Danaher Controls in Gurnee. Clarence was also past president and member of the Winthrop Harbor School Board, past president and member of the Winthrop Harbor Lions Club, and he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Survivors include his former wife, Jerri Burns of Winthrop Harbor; daughter, Terri Hudrick of Winthrop Harbor; son, Kevin (Patti) Burns of Winthrop Harbor; four grandchildren, Heather, Sean, Trevor and Brandon; two sisters, Beverly Campbell of Mesa, AZ and Dorleen (Wayne) Jensen of Salt Lake City, UT; and one brother, James (Lucille) Burns of Grand Junction, CO.
He was preceded in death by one brother, William Burns; one sister, Barbara Jean Minrich; and his parents, William and Clara Burns.
There will be no funeral service. The family will receive friends at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, on Monday, November 22, 2004, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM.
Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.

James Lee Kelley Jr.
James Lee Kelley Jr., a resident of Woodstock and formerly of Round Lake, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at the age of 38. He was born June 20, 1966 in Elgin, IL.
James is survived by his mother, Betty Terry; his son, James Lee Kelley III; his siblings, Vincent (Linda) Generosa, Liz Generosa-Goad, and Thomas (Sue) Terry Jr.; his step-brothers and step-sister, Patricia (James) Schwartz, Michael (Lorresa) Kelley, and Larry Kelley; his special friend, Gina; and numerous nieces and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Lee Kelley Sr.,; his brother, Robert Kelley; his step-father, Thomas Terry Sr.; and his stepsister, Dorothy Mittlestedt.
A funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, November 21, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030. Interment will be held privately. Friends of the family may visit on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family. Angela McClure
Angela McClure, 31, a former resident of Zion, IL, was suddenly taken from this world to be with the Lord on November 1, 2004 in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Angela was born August 8, 1973 in Norfolk, Virginia and was a graduate of Zion-Benton Township High School in 1991 and a member of Wesley Church in Waukegan.
Survivors include her father and mother, Tom and Mary McClure of Zion; three sisters, April (Michael) Beatty of Round Lake, IL, Beverly McClure of Salamanca, New York, and Kimberly McClure, currently stationed in New Jersey, serving with the United States Air Force; and a brother, George McClure of Zion. Also surviving are her maternal grandmother, Elora Persons of Salamanca, New York; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by both paternal grandparents, and by her maternal grandfather.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. at Grace Missionary Church, 1415 27th St, Zion, with Pastor Douglas Carlson officiating. Interment will be private for the family. Memorial donations to the Shalom Center, 1713 62nd St, Kenosha, WI 53143-4469 have been suggested. CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, Zion, is serving the family. Phyllis C. Neargarder
Mass of Christian Burial for Phyllis C. Neargarder, 79, of Round Lake Beach, IL., will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at St. Gilbert's Church in Grayslake. Interment will be private in Abingdon, IL. There will be no visitation.
Mrs. Neargarder was born March 10, 1925 in Grayslake, IL., and passed away early Thursday morning, November 18, 2004 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Round Lake Beach, IL.
She married Thomas E. Neargarder in 1947 and had been employed as Supervisor of Dieticians at St. Therese Medical Center in Waukegan for 13 years.
She was a member of St. Gilbert's Church and a member of the Ladies Catholic Church Benevolent Association.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas; two sons, Donald Neargarder of Round Lake, IL., and Richard (Michelle) Neargarder of Lewisberg, KS; and one daughter, Kathy (Allen) Mathiesen of Waukegan, IL; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Antoinette Reimers of Round Lake, IL., and Frances Riley of Waukegan; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Minnie Monian in 2001; four brothers; as well as her parents.
The family requests that donations please be made to Catholic Charities in Phyllis' name.

Bernice E. Reed
Bernice E. Reed, age 86, of Waukegan, IL, died on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at Victory Lakes Care Center. She was born February 17, 1918 in Elmhurst, IL.
She was employed as the school secretary at Andrew Cooke School in Waukegan. She was a member of Square Dancing Clubs. In her retirement, she enjoyed many years of Square dancing and traveling to her favorite location, Hawaii.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, E. Robert Reed; and a son, Kenneth Reed of Antioch.
She is survived by her son, Steven (Dorothy) Reed; her daughter, Nancy (Ted Stranberg) Falotico of Kenosha; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Reed of Antioch; her grandchildren, Michael (Sara) Reed of Waukegan, Christina (Chuck) Norman, Ryan and Jennifer Reed of Burlington, WI and Brian, Scott and Steven Falotico; three great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Madison, and Savannah Reed of Waukegan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 20, 2004, 11 AM at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 cemetery Rd. Burial Elm Lawn cemetery, Elmhurst, IL. Visitation is 9-11 AM Saturday, November 20, 2004 at the funeral home.

Howard E. Rowe
Howard E. Rowe, age 79, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan. A lifelong resident of the Waukegan and Lake Villa area, he was born November 22, 1924 in Bancroft, NE.
He married Irene (Steinbach) in 1947, celebrating almost 57 years of marriage. He was a World War II Veteran, having served on term in the U.S. Army Air Corps, followed almost immediately by a second one-year term in the U.S. Army.
He leaves his loving family to cherish his memory. He leaves his two sons, Ted and Tim (Terri) Rowe; and one daughter, Sharon Rowe. His beloved grandchildren, George (Karen) Kontaxis, Harold (Jessica) Kontaxis, Tony (Andrea) Rowe, Robin, Michelle, Megan, Jenna, Lindsey and Amber Rowe.
His son, Gary Rowe; two brothers, Harold and Robert; and his three sisters, Bernice, Leona and Rosella preceded Howard in death.
Funeral services for Howard will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2004 at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, RICHARD S. ZAEHRINGER, Director, 1475 N. cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL 60031 (located inside the main entrance to Warren cemetery at the intersection of Tri-State Pky. and cemetery Rd.) Friends are invited to the funeral home for visitation from 4-8 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2004. The interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Highland Memorial Park cemetery, Libertyville, IL (Hunt club Rd. and Rte. 120 Belvidere Rd.)
