Ann Rita Hoffman (nee Murphy). Born December 20, 1918 in River Forest. died November 15, 2003 at St. Benedict's Nursing Home, Niles, IL. Former resident of Mundelein area for 50 years. Faithful wife of 58 years to the late Martin, who died in 2000. Cherished mother of Martin, Megan (William) Brier, Thomas (Roseann), Richard (Sandi), James (Libby), Mary Grace (Stan) Rasocha, Raymond (Jemae) and Rev. Francis J. Hoffman. Adoring grandmother of 16. Fond aunt of many nephews and nieces.
Visitation at McMURROUGH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 101 Park Place, Libertyville, IL on Wednesday from 3-9 p.m. with Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass in the old church at St. Mary of the Annunciation in Fremont Center on Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Mary cemetery, Fremont Center.

Gerda B. Hoskins
Gerda B. Hoskins, 69, of Wildwood, IL, passed away Friday, November 14, 2003 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born January 26, 1934 in Augsburg, Germany, came to live in the USA in Libertyville in 1963 and retired to Wildwood in 1998. She was a life member of the Libertyville VFW Auxiliary and was employed as a real estate agent for Century 21-Kreuser & Seiler, Ltd. in Libertyville, retiring in 1998 after 21 years.
Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Elmer Hoskins, her son Steven (Marianne) Hoskins and grandchildren, Anna and Benjamin, all of Wildwood and her brother Helmut Bock, living in Germany.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 19 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Avenue, (Rt. 176) Libertyville. Following cremation, interment will be in Lakeside cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Margarita "Margo" Jadrich (Echevarria)
Our beloved Margarita "Margo" Jadrich (Echevarria), 38, of Waukegan found Eternal Peace and joined our Lord on November 14, 2003 at 12:06 AM. Margo was born November 11, 1965 in Waukegan, Illinois and remained a lifelong resident. In various banking positions for a number of years, Margo was most recently a homemaker. The role she enjoyed most in life was being a mother and aunt. Margo was a dedicated member of Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan.
She is survived by her caring husband, Daniel J. Jadrich; three beautiful children, Lindsey, Danny and Alex; her parents, Milan and Isabel Echevarria; brothers, Milan (Barbara), Alberto, Raul (Rita), Hector (Viviam); a sister, Elizabeth (Roger) Ramos; her Godparents, Barbara and Heriberto Echevarria; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; father-in-law, Joseph J. (Mary); brothers-in-law, David (Sharon), John (Sandra); sisters-in-law, Deborah Swan, Diane Valdez, Judy (Chuck) Tekampe, Jamie and Gina (Chuck) Guerriero; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Margo was preceded in death by her grandparents; a sister, Mildred; mother-in-law, Barbara; and brother-in-law, Joseph Jr.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at Immaculate Conception Church, 508 Grand Ave., Waukegan with Father Frank Plotka officiating. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville.

John T. Merlock
John T. Merlock, 65, of Hilton Head Island, SC, died Sunday, November 16 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC.
Born in Waukegan, Illinois, he is the son of Victoria Jappel Merlock of North Chicago, Illinois, and the late John Merlock. He was a 1959 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and served in the United States Army. He worked for American National Can from 1962 until his retirement in 1996. John was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose family was most important to him.
Besides his mother, Mr. Merlock is survived by his wife, Judy Merlock; his daughter, Cindy Zircher of Hinsdale, Illinois; two sons, Daryle of Washington, D.C. and John of Chicago, Illinois; his sister, Lauretta Opeka of Waukegan, Illinois; brother, Tom of Salem, Wisconsin; grandson Christian Zircher, granddaughter Annie Zircher and grandson Johnny Zircher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, November 19 at 10:30 AM at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church, Hilton Head Island, SC, with Rev. Ron Henery officiating.

Homer Oglesby
Homer Oglesby peacefully departed this earthly life on Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at St. Therese Medical Center. He was born on December 20, 1913 in Homer, GA through the union of David Oglesby, Sr. and Mandy Oglesby. Homer was united in marriage on February 6, 1939 to Catherine Jane Norwood and to whom there was born five children. He was united in marriage to his second wife, Mabel Kelly and there were three step-children. Homer retired from Northshore Foundry after numerous years of service. He lived many years in Muskego, WI and settled in Cudahy, WI before moving back to Illinois in 1994.
Those left to cherish his memory is one daughter, Sharone of N. Chicago; three step-children; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Williemae Oglesby of N. Chicago; and a host of nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Homer was preceded in death by his father and mother, David and Mandy Oglesby; two brothers, David Jr. and Willie Oglesby; four sisters, Marie, Marina, Dallas, Ethel; two daughters, Gwendolyn Cowan and Patricia Handy; two sons, Gerald and Kenneth Oglesby; son-in-law, Oby Cowan Sr.; grandson, Oby Cowan Jr.; one daughter-in-law, Elizabeth; his wife, Mabel; and his first wife, Catherine.

Whyland "Bud" Rose
Whyland "Bud" Rose, age 60, born March 4, 1943, died October 25, 2003 in Farmington, NM. He was retired from the Illinois tollway. Bud was a lifelong Waukegan resident until a year ago when he moved to Farmington, NM. He served in the Navy for four years.
He is survived by a daughter, Athena (Mike) Sperry, of Beach Park, IL; a son Adrian Rose of Kenosha, WI; three grandchildren Anthony, Alex and Rhonda Sperry; his parents William and Vivian Rose of Lindenhurst, IL; a brother Calvin (Gail) Rose of New Hope, PA; a sister Marcia Rose of Gurnee, IL.
Memorial Services were held in early November.
Eula Mae (Williams) Taylor
Eula Mae (Williams) Taylor, 87, of Zion, Illinois passed away peacefully on November 16, 2003 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan, IL with her loving family at her side.
She was born December 13, 1915 in Kirkville, MS to the late John and Della Williams. In 1941, she married
Prentiss Earl Taylor. She retired from Warwick Electronics in 1970 after 17 years.
She is survived by two daughters; Freda (Greg) Schaefer of Jacksonville, FL, Barb (Jim) Gunter of Zion; three sons, Jim (Lynette) Taylor of Zion, Jerry (Martha) Taylor of Huntsville, AL, and Larry (Gayle) Taylor of Antioch, IL; 13 grandchildren, Kenneth Bradley (Cindy) Vail of Zion, Tyra Hawkins of Jacksonville, FL, Kim (Jeff McIntyre) Topcik of Gilberts, IL, Tammy (Shone) Davis of Beach Park, Kevin (Lori) Gunter of Antioch, IL, Tonya (Robbie Hudrick) Taylor of Beach Park, IL, Tracy Taylor of Huntsville, AL, Tisha (T.K.) Kelley of Jacksonville, FL, Kara Gunter of Zion, Kent (Jessica) Taylor of Huntsville, AL, Tiffany (David) Spiller of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Tara (Don Baker) Taylor of Zion and Trent Nuzzo of Kenosha, WI; 18 great-grandchildren; a dear sister, Sula Spencer of Booneville, MS; a special niece, Zana (James) Mooreland of Kenosha, WI; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Prentiss Taylor, grandson Kyle Gene Taylor, five sisters and one brother.

Anne V. Vasilius
Anne V. Vasilius, 92, of Waukegan, IL, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2003. She was born in Poland on July 19, 1911.
A lifelong resident of Waukegan, she was a member of Provena St. Therese Auxiliary, Catholic Women's Club, The Wiremill Club, and Queen of Peace Catholic Church in North Chicago, IL. She retired from Webster Jr. High School in Waukegan in 1968.
She is survived by two nieces, Suzanne Vargas of Waukegan and Janet Morgan of Cincinnati, Ohio; three great nieces, Debra (John) Castillo of Waukegan, Paulette Morgan Howard of Albany, New York, and Elizabeth Heilman of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph in 1991; two sisters, Frances Strzyz in 1992 and Stella Wilkins in January of 2003; a brother, Bernard Pawlaczyk in 1978; and her parents, Walter in 1954 and Victoria (nee Kaczmarek) in 1949.
Mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at 10:00 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 910 14th Street, North Chicago. Father James Merold will officiate. Arthur Engers
Arthur Engers, 85, of Chicago, formerly of Libertyville, died November 14, 2001 at Mercy Hospital in Chicago. He was born August 24, 1916 in Chicago and had been a resident of Lake County for more than 70 years. Art was the founder of Engers Buick of Libertyville, the dealership was later changed to Liberty Buick.
Art is survived by his son A. Randall Engers of Ohio; his daughter Sheryl (Bucky) Fenwick of Texas; his grandchildren, Kattie, Susan and Jennifer; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his grandson William, his daughter Patricia (William) Kemmer, his brother Freddie and his sister Bernie.

Andre Stinnette, Sr., of North Chicago died on Friday, November 16, 2001 at Provena St. Therese Hospital, Waukegan. He was born September 16, 1952 in Detroit, MI. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ophelia; mother, Virginia Stinnette; seven daughters, Deanna Applewhite, Andreletta Stinnette, Shalonda Moore, Sheria Barnes, Tamara Cain, Mary Jude and Pamela Rollins; nine sons, Andre, Jr., Jabar Gardner, Kenneth Laura, Jeffrey Burton, Earnest Lewis, Earl Cofield, Christopher Jude, Jamal Foster and Darryl Presley; 23 grandchildren; seven sisters, Latrese (Thomas) Craig, Francellis (Gregory) Watts, Carriellis Smith, Sandra Dunn, Sherrellils Stinnette, Lavivian (Emmanuel) Foster, and Delphine Steele; five brothers, Ellis, Jr. (Sharon) Stinnette, Terellis Stinnette, Maurellis (Jacqueline) Stinnette, Quanellis and Antwanellis Stinnette; and special friends, Clarence Evans, James, and his ex-wife, Glenda Stinnette. He also leaves many other special relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bardomiano Arteaga
Bardomiano Arteaga, 89, of Vernon Hills, IL passed away Sunday, November 14, 2004 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born September 30, 1915 in Coeneo, Mexico and came to live in the United States in 1974. He was a former resident of Wheeling and Mt. Prospect and a member of Santa Maria del Popolo Parish in Mundelein. Mr. Arteaga had been a cattle rancher while living in Mexico, where he had been the president/mayor of Coeneo County.
Surviving are four children, Jose (Elsa) Arteaga of Palatine, Amparo Arteaga, Victoria (Ramiro) Ceja and Rosario (Jose) Herrera, all of Vernon Hills; 15 grandchildren; fine great grandchildren; two sisters; and three brothers.
He was preceded in death by a son, Victoriano in 1963; and by his wife, Ma. Rosario Arteaga in 2002.
Prayers will begin at 9 AM Saturday, November 20, 2004 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176), Libertyville and services will continue to the Santa Maria del Popolo Chapel in Mundelein for Funeral Mass at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
