Frank J. Goldberg
Frank J. Goldberg, 67, of Mundelein, IL passed away Monday, November 15, 2004 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born March 21, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY and had been a Mundelein resident for the past 30 years. Frank was a graduate of Oklahoma State University and received his masters degree from Villanova University in Philadelphia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. having served in the Korean War. Frank had been the president of the F.J.G. & Associates Consulting Firm in Mundelein and was a member of the Waukegan Yacht Club.
Surviving are two children, Eric (Janet) Goldberg of Columbus, Ohio and Renee (Scott) McFarland of Pleasant Prairie, WI; and two grandchildren, Jeremy McFarland and Kevin Hyun Soo Goldberg.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, November 18, 2004 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave (Rt. 176), Libertyville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance in care of the funeral home in his memory. .
Warren W. Hewitt
Warren W. Hewitt, age 76, of Pleasant Prairie, died Sunday, November 14, 2004 at United Hospital Systems KMCC.
Born on March 1, 1928 in Rosemont, IL, the was the son of the late Claude and Reba (Whitacre) Hewitt.
He was educated in Zion, IL and graduated from Zion Benton High School in 1947.
On February 18, 1946, he entered the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hiroshima, Japan. He received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army Occupation Medal. He was honorably discharged on April 15, 1947.
On May 16, 1950 he married
Lois Jean Binninger in Kenosha. She preceded him in death in 1997.
For ten years he worked at the Post Office in Kenosha and was later transferred to Great Lakes. He then was employed as Head of Maintenance and was a Locksmith at Barat College in Lake Forest, IL.
He enjoyed remodeling his home and also loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his two sons, Michael Charles (Diane) Hewitt of Waukegan, IL and Richard Allen (Mary) Hewitt of Ishpeming, MI; one daughter, Candace H. (Jim) CLiff of Grayslake, IL; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Warren Hewitt in infancy; two brothers, Jim Hewitt and Clarence Hewitt; and one sister, Mae.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church, 3401 Springbrook Road. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening at the church from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials to Victory Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.

Louise Aurora Mattausch
Louise Aurora Mattausch, 95, of Zion, died on Monday, November 15, 2004 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan.
Louise was born February 11, 1909 in Lehigh, WI, the first child of Adolf and Laura Kaste Mattausch, both of which preceded her in death. She graduated in 1927 from Zion Preparatory College, and in 1933 from Zion College, receiving her B.A. degree. She taught in Zion Parochial Schools and in Zion public schools beginning in 1934 and she retired in 1978. She showed artistic talent and enjoyed teaching children. She had enrolled in University of Wisconsin graduate School as an art major, however, poor health interfered with her ambition to become an artist. Louise was also a member of Gurnee Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include brothers and sisters Everett (Hazel) Mattausch of Eckert, Colorado, Frank (Jean) Mattausch of Bremerton, WA, Armand (Ellie) Mattausch of Oracle, AZ, Gladys Arendt of Yucaipa, CA and Mary (Paul) Beighley of Flushing, NY. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by one sister, Edna, and brothers Werner, Carl and Harold.
A cemetery committal service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mt. Oliver Memorial Park Garden Chapel, 1436 Kenosha Road, Zion, with Pastor David Hakes officiating. Bernice E. Reed
Bernice E. Reed, age 86, of Waukegan, IL, died on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at Victory Lakes Care Center. She was born February 17, 1918 in Elmhurst, IL.
She was employed as the school secretary at Andrew Coder School in Waukegan. She was a member of Square Dancing Clubs. In her retirement, she enjoyed many years of Square dancing and traveling to her favorite location, Hawaii.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, E. Robert Reed; and a son, Kenneth Reed of Antioch.
She is survived by her son, Steven (Dorothy) Reed; her daughter, Nancy Falotico (Ted Stanberg) of Kenosha; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Reed of Antioch; her grandchildren, Michael (Sara) Reed of Waukegan, Christina (Chuck) Norman, Ryan and Jennifer Reed of Burlington, WI and Brian, Scott and Steven Falotico; three great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Madison, and Savannah Reed of Waukegan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 20, 2004, 11 AM at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 cemetery Rd. Burial Elk Lawn cemetery, Elmhurst, IL. Visitation is 9-11 AM Saturday, November 20, 2004 at the funeral home.

Leonard C. Ruby
Mass of Christian burial for Leonard C. Ruby, 85, of Gurnee, IL, will be celebrated 10 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2004 from St. Paul The Apostle Church in Gurnee. Entombment will follow at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville with full military honors.
Friends may call at the Salata-Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee from 6-8 PM on Friday and from 9 AM Saturday until the time of Mass at church.
Leonard was born on June 16, 1919 in Chicago and passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at the Waukegan Pavilion Nursing Home.
He married
Betty (nee Follman) on November 30, 1940 in Chicago and they would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this year.
He retired as plant superintendent from Commonwealth Edison in 1981 after 43 years of employment.
Leonard was a member of St. Paul The Apostle Church where he was also an usher. He was a veteran of WWII having served with the US Navy and was also a member of The American Legion, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and was an avid golfer and swimmer.
He was a graduate of Illinois Benedictine College earning a degree in business and management.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; one daughter, Marilyn (Norm) LaBelle of Gurnee; one son, Len (Peggy) Ruby, Jr. of Dallas, Texas; as well as nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Gregory, in infancy; one brother, Walter in 1964; and one sister, Margaret Rymsza in 1966.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Paul The Apostle Church.
Elsie C. Schultz
Elsie C. Schultz, 86, a recent resident of Libertyville, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at the Libertyville Manor. She was born August 21, 1918 in Lake Geneva and had been a Chicago resident for most of her life.
She was a 1935 graduate of St. Michael High School in Chicago and was a former resident of The Breakers of Edgewater Beach. Elsie was a telephone operator as a young woman and was a member of The Telephone Pioneers of America.
Surviving are her son, James (Karen) Schultz of Vernon Hills; two grandchildren, Jonathan Schultz of Chicago and Jennifer Schultz of Lake Bluff; and her great grandchildren, Madison Belle Snyder. She was the dear aunt of Kathleen (Ken) Patterson, Patricia Connerton and Gerald (Barbara) Selah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Nellie Bahlke; her husband, George Schultz and sisters, Loretta Welby and Mary Selah.
Prayers will begin at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, November 20 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville and services will continue to St. Mary of Vernon Church in Indian Creek for funeral mass at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Irving Park cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Arthritis Foundation in her memory.
Ashley A. Stedronsky
Ashley A. Stedronsky, 19, a resident of Ingleside died Monday, November 15, 2004 at her home.
She was born in Libertyville, IL on October 4, 1985 to William G. and Carolyn (nee Bernota) Stedronsky and had attended Grant Community High School in Fox Lake.
She is survived by her parents, William G. and Carolyn Stedronsky of Ingleside; a brother, Brian W. Stedronsky and his girlfriend, Robin Ryan, both of Spring Grove; her grandparents, Wayne and Nancy Bernota of Ingleside; her uncle, Brian Bernota of Round Lake; her aunts, Susan (Ronald) Wake of Round Lake, Laurie (Paul) Koren of FL; and Donna Bernota of Waukegan. Other relatives also survive.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, November 19, 2004 from 10:00 a.m. through time of services which will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 510 Cedar Lake Rd., Round Lake, IL with Pastor Lisle J. Kauffman officiating. Interment will be private.

Herman Walker
Herman Walker, 68, of Beach Park, died on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at his home following a long illness.
Herman was born June 10, 1936 in Osceola, Arkansas, and had lived in Marietta, Mississippi and Pascagoula, Mississippi before moving to Zion in 1957 after being honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force following four years of service. On April 2, 1977 he married
Myra Parker of Zion in Waukegan. Together, they owned and operated Hickory House Restaurant and Lounge in Beach Park for 18 years. Herman had owned various other businesses in this area prior to that. He was also a member of Moose and Elks Clubs, V.F.W., and the American Legion. An avid NASCAR race fan, Herman was a fun, loving and giving man.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Myra; children, Connie, Joni and Brian Walker; three loving step-children, Kimberly (Russ) Garrett of Channahon, Illinois, Tina (Dan Kleinhubert) Johnston of Gurnee and Robert (Melissa) Johnston of Spring Grove, Illinois; grandchildren, Scott (Kristy) Garrett, Melissa (Kevin) Groff, Lindsey, Brian and Adam Garrett, Ashley and Conner Bowcott, Hannah, Bradley, Grace and Owen Johnston and Cassidee and Michael Box; one great-grandchild, Ethan Groff; one brother, Skip Walker of Beach Park; a loving brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Donna Parker of Fulton, Mississippi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lynn Renee Walker; and by his parents, Travis Walker and Zela (nee Maxcy) Hunter.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 21, 2004 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 22, at 10:30 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Jacqueline A. Williams
Jacqueline A. Williams, 51 years old, of Fox Lake, IL passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2004. She was born September 22, 1953 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Dolores (Teltz) Mandik, living in Lake Shangri-La, WI before moving to Fox Lake. She graduated with honors from Truman College as a Registered Nurse and had worked at Resurrection Hospital in Chicago, the Lake County, IL Jail, and recently at the Orchard Medical Center in Antioch, IL.
On April 20, 1991, she married
Theodore Williams in Antioch.
Survivors include her husband, Theodore; two daughters, Angela (Jay) Guizar, of Wonders Lake, IL, and Natalie (David) Hopp, of Johnsburg, IL; her grand daughter, Isabella; her mother, Delores (James) Bown, of McHenry, IL; her sisters, Sharon (Steve) Hopp, of McHenry, and Diane (James) Malecki, of Hawthorne Woods, IL; and her former husband, Louis Scarpaci.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Mandik.
Funeral services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM Sat, November 20, 2004 at the Church of Holy Apostles, 5211 West Bull Valley Rd., McHenry, IL. (Family and friends to meet at the church.)
