Margarita "Margo" Jadrich (Echevarria)
Our beloved Margarita "Margo" Jadrich (Echevarria), 38, of Waukegan found Eternal Peace and joined our Lord on November 14, 2003 at 12:06 AM. Margo was born November 11, 1965 in Waukegan, Illinois and remained a lifelong resident. In various banking positions for a number of years, Margo was most recently a homemaker. The role she enjoyed most in life was being a mother and aunt. Margo was a dedicated member of Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan.
She is survived by her caring husband, Daniel J. Jadrich; three beautiful children, Lindsey, Danny and Alex; her parents, Milan and Isabel Echevarria; brothers, Milan (Barbara), Alberto, Raul (Rita), Hector (Viviam); a sister, Elizabeth (Roger) Ramos; her Godparents, Barbara and Heriberto Echevarria; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; father-in-law, Joseph J. (Mary); brothers-in-law, David (Sharon), John (Sandra); sisters-in-law, Deborah Swan, Diane Valdez, Judy (Chuck) Tekampe, Jamie and Gina (Chuck) Guerriero; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Margo was preceded in death by her grandparents; a sister, Mildred; mother-in-law, Barbara; and brother-in-law, Joseph Jr.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at Immaculate Conception Church, 508 Grand Ave., Waukegan with Father Frank Plotka officiating. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville.
Friends may call at the PETERSON & PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd, Waukegan from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, November 17, 2003.
In lieu of flowers, individual Trusts have been established for each of Margo's three children, Lindsey Ann Casillas, Daniel Joseph Jadrich Jr. and Alexander Michael Jadrich. Contact Lynn Zak at Fifth Third Bank, 847-623-9000.

Anne E. Jennett
Anne E. Jennett, 85, of Grayslake, formerly of Niles, IL passed away Friday, November 14, 2003 at Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL. She was born January 2, 1918 in Portage, WI, the daughter of the late Max and Anna (Meyer) Roerich. Mrs. Jennett moved to Grayslake in August of 2001 from Niles, IL where she was active with the Niles Senior Center and assisted with the Meals-on-Wheels program. She worked as a cashier at various Jewel Food Stores before her retirement in 1970. Her special interests included needlepoint and bingo. On October 23, 1948, she married Edward Jennett in Chicago and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1998.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia (Warren) Gates of Round Lake Beach, IL; and her son, Michael Jennett of Maple Park, IL; her granddaughter, Lynda (Jeff) Morton of Trevor, WI; and two sisters, Betty Riebel and Theresa Krudop both of Chicago.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday, November 17, 2003 at STRANG FUNERAL HOME, INC, 1055 Main St., (Rte. 83). Graveside interment will be at 11:30 AM in Ridgewood cemetery, Des Plaines, IL. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 Noon until 4 PM Sunday.

Michael H. Newman
Michael H. Newman, 28, of Libertyville died November 12, 2003 at home after an extended battle with Muscular Dystrophy. Born May 9, 1975 in Middletown, NY, Michael had lived in Libertyville since 1987.
He had attended NIU where he was a communications major. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Libertyville and the Knights of the Foot of the Cross at Marytown.
He is survived by his parents, Jeffrey and Mary Lou, his sisters, Mary (Jeff) Kerestury of Chicago and Deborah (Shawn) Jennsen of CA and his grandmothers, Katherine Tobias and Jan Spitz.
Visitation will be Friday from 4-8:30 p.m. at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville. Prayers will be offered Saturday morning at 9:30 at the funeral chapel. Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, 121 E. Maple St., Libertyville. Interment will follow the Mass at Ascension cemetery.
If desired, memorial donations are requested to either Marytown, 1600 W. Park Ave., Libertyville, IL 60048 or to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 100 Lexington Dr., Suite 210, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089.

Julius R. "Slick" Pfeiffer
Julius R. "Slick" Pfeiffer, 78, of Waukegan passed away Friday, November 14, 2003 at Victory Memorial Hospital. He was born August 2, 1925 in Hiles, WI. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion Homer Dahringer Post 281 and a veteran of World War II, having served with the U. S. Navy. He retired as a machinist with Johnson Motors in 1986 after 39 years of employment. After retiring from Johnson Motors, he worked at the Half-way House at Orchard Hills for ten years. He was an avid Cub fan, bowler and loved his family.
Survived by his wife of 56 years, Neva; three children, Cindy (Kevin) Trupp of Burlington, WI, Steve (Heidi) Pfeiffer of Winthrop Harbor, IL and Joyce (Skip) Plotz of Antioch; seven grandchildren, Dennis, Dawn, Mike, Derek, Lacy, Jimmie and Keith; three great grandchildren, Brandon, Paul and Amber; a brother, Herb Pfeiffer of Rhinelander, WI; and a sister, Bernice Craig of Decatur, IL. preceded in death by a son, Dennis; several brothers and sisters; as well as his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1310 Frolic, Waukegan. Interment North Shore Garden of Memories.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Monday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF WAUKEGAN, 1521 Washington St. and from 10 to 11 AM Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association in his memory.

Margaret Ann "Meg" Platta
Margaret Ann "Meg" Platta, 81, of Zion died on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan. She was born October 6, 1922 in Delafield, Wisconsin. On August 2, 1940, she married Aelred V. J. Platta and he preceded her in death in 1999. Meg was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be missed.
Survivors include her children, Victor (Patricia) Platta of Mandeville, Louisiana, Sandra (Steven) Adams of Bloomington, Illinois, David (Vicky) Platta of Columbus, Georgia and Dana Platta of Fairbanks, Alaska; grandchildren, Michael (Kristin) Platta, Stephen Platta, SuzAnne (Stacy) Smithson, Katie (Ben) Hart, Geoffrey Platta and Andrew Platta; great grandchildren, Alex and Audrey Platta and Riley and Cooper Smithson; a brother, Owen A. Jones of Yakima, Washington; a sister, Mary (Robert) Smith of Edmonds, Washington; and ten nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, Aelred, she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Arthur Platta; two sisters, Florence Cornell and Ellen Scornavacco; and her parents, William R. and Margaret D. Jones.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2003 at 11 AM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Interment will follow at North Shore Garden of Memories in North Chicago. Visitation will be Friday, November 14th from 6 until 8 PM at the Congdon Funeral Home. Memorial donations to the American Lung Association, American Heart Association or St. Jude's Children's Hospital have been suggested. 847-746-1234.

Mary Taylor
Mary Cooper Taylor, age 76, a resident of Lake Bluff since 1955, died November 12, 2003 at Governors Park Health Care and Rehabilitation, Barrington, IL. She was born March 1, 1927 in Marshall, MI. A graduate of Lake Forest High School, Class of 1944. On April 9, 1952, she married Mack Taylor in Lake Forest. Mary was employed by Abbott Laboratories and later retired from American Educators, Inc. of Lake Bluff, after over 30 years of service. She was passionate about local and Scottish history. She was past President of the Junior Woman's Club of Lake Forest and the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Historical Society. She was co-author of a book on the Lake Forest cemetery, published in 1994.
She is preceded in death by her husband, the late Mack W. Taylor and her sister, Margaret Cooper, as well as her parents, the late Olna and Mary Cooper.
She is survived by her cousin, Janet (Stephen) Polep of Cary, IL. Also, she is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins in the U.S. and Scotland.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, November 17, 2003 at Wenban Funeral Home, 320 E. Vine Ave., Lake Forest. Interment will be in Lake Forest cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Historical Society or American Cancer Society. Info: 847-234-0022.

Esther Begun
Esther Begun, 94, of Waukegan passed away on Friday, November 12, 2004 at VictoryMemorial Hospital in Waukegan. She was born June 21, 1910 in Chicago. Esther was a member of Congregation Am Echod.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Ben (Susie) Goldstein of Gurnee; great granddaughters, Marisa and Araina Goldstein; and by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Begun; and daughter, Marcia (Edward) Goldstein.
Graveside services will be at 11 AM Monday, November 15, 2004 at Westlawn cemetery, 7801 W. Montrose Ave., Chicago, IL with Rabbi Ze'ev Harari officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Congregation Am Echod Building Fund, 2945 Falling Waters Blvd., Lindenhurst, IL, 60046. Kathleen E. Davis
Kathleen E. Davis, 55, of Lindenhurst, IL passed away at St. Therese Medical Center on Friday, November 12, 2004.
She was born in Libertyville, IL on January 30, 1949, the daughter of Marlon (nee Kelsler) and the late Glen Knigge. She was a resident of Lindenhurst since 1972 and was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Lindenhurst, where she had been involved with the Church's Youth Group. She was a retired civil servant, having served at Great Lakes Naval Base, North Chicago. She was a former leader of the Girl Scouts and enjoyed baking and sewing. Her sewing ability excelled and she frequently made wedding dresses for many brides.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry. They were married on February 21, 1970. Her daughter, Leah; her mother, Marion Knigge of Reedsburg, WI; her brother, Richard (Judy) Knigge of Wauconda, IL; and sister, Carole Eberhardt of Elgin, IL.
She was preceded in death by her father, Glen.
Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1822 E. Grand Ave. Lindenhurst, IL, with Rev. Terry Breum, officiating. Interment will be at Millburn cemetery, Old Mill Creek, IL. Visitation will be on Monday, 408 p.m. at RINGA FUNERAL HOME, 122 S. Milwaukee Ave. (Rte. 83), Lake Villa, IL 60046. (2 Blks. S of Rte. 132 Grand Ave.), and Tuesday morning at the church, 9-10 a.m. Memorials appreciated to the American Diabetes Association, 170 N. Beauregard St. Alexandria, VA 22311.

David N. Dukowitz
David N. Dukowitz, 84, of Winthrop Harbor, died on Friday, November 12, 2004 at the Pavilion of Waukegan. He was born June 6, 1920 in Swan River, Minnesota, came to Winthrop Harbor 40 years ago and has lived in Zion at Carmel House for the past three years. He retired in 1983 from Kenosha Auto Transport and he was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his children, Roderick (Patsy) Dukowitz of Gurnee, Cynthia (Dennis) Parry of Beach Park, Linda (Michael) Anhock of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, Karen (Shawn) Sloan of Beach Park and Daniel Dukowitz of Park City, Illinois; 10 grandchildren, Cherish (Phillip) Gillett, Roderick (Kelli) Dukowitz II, David Dukowitz, Andrea and Ashleigh Parry, Jason (Tina) Anhock, Jeffrey and Lindsey Anhock and Alyssa and Hailey Sloan; two brothers, Cliff and Donny; and three sisters, Leona, Sylvia and Genevieve. He was preceded in death by his wife LaDine in 1982; an infant son, David; a great granddaughter, Kayla Gillett; a brother, Junior; and his parents, Albert and Pauline Dukowitz.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at 7 PM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion with Pastor Dennis Kelly of Trinity Lutheran Church of Waukegan officiating. The family will receive friends at the Congdon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 PM until time of services. 847-746-1234.

John R. Kuykendall
John R. Kuykendall, 52, of Waukegan, IL passed away November 14, 2004 in Waukegan at St. Therese. He was born October 13, 1952 in Romulus, MI.
He was a Veteran of the National Guard.
He is survived by two beloved brothers, James and Robert Kuykendall; loving nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Ray Haga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dos and Leona Kuykendall; brother, D.F. and sister, Mary Ann Seminary.
Funeral Services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at MARSH FUNERAL HOME with C. Clyde Elledge officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. at MARSH FUNERAL HOME in Waukegan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.

Carlos Maldonado
Carlos Maldonado, 69, of Waukegan, IL passed away November 12, 2004 in Racine, WI. He was born November 4, 1935 in Waukegan.
He served in the United States Navy and the Naval Reserve. He was retired from Abbott Laboratories after 40 years of service.
His is survived by his wife, Ophelia (Gonzalez) Maldonado; children, Elizabeth Maldonado, Veronica (Tom) McDowell, Christopher Maldonado and Carlos Maldonado, Jr.; granddaughter, Kimberly McDowell; siblings, Jose Maldonado, Jr., Elsa (David) Spriggs, Gloria Maldonado, John (Esperanza) Maldonado and Serafin Maldonado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Amparo, Maria Maldonado; a special niece, Diane Spriggs; also various nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will take place at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at MARSH FUNERAL HOME in Waukegan. Interment Ascension cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday, November 16, 2004 and on Wednesday from 9-10 AM at MARSH FUNERAL HOME.
