James Robert Oatsvall
James Robert Oatsvall, 84, a resident of Zion for more than 50 years, died on Friday, November 11, 2005 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan.
James was born July 16, 1921 in Camden, TN, and married Virginia Bruce on August 30, 1945 in Corinth, MS. He was a member of Meadowridge Baptist Church in Zion, where he had served as a Deacon. James was retired from American Motors in Kenosha, after 34 years of employment. He served in the European Theater in the U.S. Army in World War II, with the 9th Army Division. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be truly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; two sons, Robert (Diana) Oatsvall of Mobile, AL, and Jim (Belinda) Oatsvall of Winthrop Harbor, IL; three grandchildren, Brian (Gina) Oatsvall, Jason (Jami) Oatsvall, and Justin (Joslin) Oatsvall; two step-daughters, Stacy and Jennifer; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Olivia; three brothers, Carnell (Alma), Martin (Betty), and Tom (Audrey) Oatsvall, and a sister, Shirley Kennedy. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vernon and Paul Oatsvall; and two sisters, Imogene Jones and Charlene Kennedy.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 13, 2005, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral Services will be held on Monday AT 10:30 AM at The Congdon Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 100 Tri-State International, Suite 125, Lincolnshire, IL 60069.

Danny L. Hacke
Danny L. Hacke, 54, of Antioch, IL passed away Thursday, November 6, 2003 at St. Therese Medical Center, Waukegan, IL. He was born October 21, 1949 in Waukegan, the son of Raymond and Jean (Matson) Hacke. He lived in Lake County most of his life and was a 1968 graduate of Waukegan High School. He served in the U.S. Army and later owned and operated Another Man's Treasure in Antioch. His interests included antique dealing, garage sales, drawing and cooking.
Survivors include a son, Brittain in Sioux City, IA; his father, Raymond (Sherry) Hacke of Wadsworth; his brothers and sisters, Patrick of Antioch, Roger (Peggy) of North Chicago, Robin (Toni) of Zion, Polly (Al) Zyss of Diamond Lake, Scott (Kathy) of Lindenhurst and Becky (Brian) Hanson of Park City; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean.
The family extends a special "thank you" to the Antioch Rescue Squad.
A Memorial funeral service will be held at 7 PM Monday, November 10, 2003 at STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83). Interment is private.
Visitation will be held from 4 PM Monday until time of services. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Antioch Rescue Squad in his memory.

Richard E. Hanson
Richard E. Hanson, 77, of Round Lake, IL passed away on Monday, November 10, 2003 at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center, Lindenhurst, IL. He was born in Chicago, IL on November 6, 1926, the son of the late Ernest and Alice (nee Toman) Hanson. He was a resident of Round Lake since 2001 and was previously from Glenview. He was a veteran of World War II, Pacific Theatre, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Lake Region Post 703, Fox Lake and a former member of the Automobile Mechanics - Local 701 and a member of Ducks Unlimited. On August 5, 1949, he married his wife, Helen.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen; his children, Glenn Hanson of Mt. Prospect, IL, Patricia (Phillip) Malizio of Lake Villa, Alanna (Kevin) Woodums and Bryan (Lisa) Hanson both of Round Lake Beach; his grandchildren, Rebekah, Elissa, Gina, Brittany, Kevin, Jessica and Nicole.
Funeral Services will begin at 7 PM Thursday, November 13, 2003 at RINGA FUNERAL HOME, 122 S. Rte. 83, Lake Villa, IL, 60046 with Rev. Terry Breum, Pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment private. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral info: 847-356-2146.

Helen A. McGrain
Helen A. McGrain, 86, of Kenosha, WI, formerly of Waukegan, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2003 in Kenosha.
She was born October 27, 1917 in Malvern, OH, and came to the Waukegan area in 1949.
Helen was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waukegan.
She retired from Victory Memorial Hospital as nursing supervisor after 26 years of service and was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII serving as a nurse.
She is survived by her children, James (Terri) McGrain of Kenosha, Patricia Schmitz of Arlington Heights, David (Karen) McGrain of Pittsboro, NC, William (Adrienne) McGrain, Naples, FL, Leo (Jean) McGrain of Franklin Grove, IL; grandchildren, Peter McGrain, Christine McGrain, Paul (Marcie) Schmitz, Cathy (Jim) Santilli, Laurie (Jeff) Frankel, Nina (David) Decker, Lisa (Dan) McMullin, Anne McGrain, Beth McGrain, Rhonda (Rick) Storc, Mary Ann (Mike) Stiefel, Don (Michelle) McGrain, Brian McGrain, Matt (Debbie) McGrain, and Mike (Tatiana) McGrain.
Helen is also survived by 24 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. McGrain; parents, Albert and Mary (nee Becker) Geckler; and by a brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 824 Lewis Ave., Waukegan. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Friends may call the Peterson & Patch Funeral Home, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30 AM to time of service at the church. John Moton Jr.
John Moton Jr, 81, of North Chicago peacefully passed away on November 6, 2003 at Provena Saint Therese Medical Center, Waukegan.
John was born February 8, 1922 in Wabash, Arkansas. He moved to North Chicago in 1951 where he lived for 52 years. John was employed at American Motors and later at International Harvester/Dresser Industries for 20 years where he retired in 1987. He served as a Deacon at Mount Sinai Baptist Church in North Chicago for 20 years and later became a faithful member of Mount Moriah Christian Center in Waukegan.
His memory is cherished by his wife of 53 years, Lenora Moton; his son, Louis Moton Smith of North Chicago, IL; his daughter, Vanessa (Howard) Palmer of Waukegan; two sisters, Addie Littlejohn of North Chicago and Ruth Wilson of Waukegan; two brothers, Joe Moton of North Chicago and Johnnie Moton of Zion; nine grandchildren; a host on nieces and nephews; and two special friends, James Bowles of Waukegan and Eddie Moss of North Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John King and Lela Moton; three brothers, L.J. Moton, Freddie Moton and Eddie Moton; and two sisters, Inell Ray and Elena Toney.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at Mount Moriah Christian Center, 524 10th Street, Waukegan with Bishop Solomon Smith officiating. Interment will be at North Shore Garden of Memories, North Chicago. Visitation will begin at the church at 10 AM. Violet E. Rodack
Violet E. Rodack, 86, of Libertyville, IL passed away Monday, November 10, 2003 at her daughter's home in Wheeling. She was born June 6, 1917 in Chicago and had been a Libertyville resident since 1951. She was employed as a cashier in the credit department of the First National Bank in Libertyville, retiring after 24 years. She was a former member of Credit Women International of Waukegan and served in various offices of the Mother's Club of Bush School in Libertyville, retiring as President. She also worked with the 4-H, was a Mariner Girl Scout Leader for six years, a member of the Libertyville Presbyterian Seniors, Senior Friendship Club and Senior Community Center. Vi was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Libertyville where she sang in the Chancel Choir for many years and was a former President of the choir.
Surviving are her daughters, Karen Rodack of Tucson, AZ and Barbara Noland of Wheeling; four grandchildren, Kimberly Olson, Keith Link, Tanya Noland and Erik Jorgensen; a great grandson, Keenan Link; a brother, Gus Strelow; and three sisters, Elsie Bingham, Marie Gilardan and Hazel Sehnert.
She married John T. Rodack in 1937 and he passed away in 1961; also preceding her in death were her parents, Gustav and Emma Strelos; a granddaughter, Dawn; and sister, Sophie Kolberg.
Private services are being held at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME in Libertyville. Interment will be at Glen Oak cemetery in Hillside.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the First Presbyterian Church or Hospice of the Northshore in her memory. .

Rosario M. Rolle
Rosario M. Rolle, 81, of Round Lake Beach, IL died Sunday, November 9, 2003 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born October 8, 1922 in the Philippines to Fabian and Asuncio (Limbao) Montiano. In December of 1944, she married Pedro Rolle.
Formerly of the Philippines, Rosario came to the United States in 1980 to help raise her grandchildren. In the 1990's she was sworn in as a citizen of the United States of America at the Dirkson Building in Chicago. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Round Lake, and she loved gardening.
Survivors include her four daughters, Adalia Nunez of Round Lake Beach and Rosalinda Destajo, Marilu Tolentino and Edna Rolle all of the Philippines; and four sons, Froilan Rolle, Reynaldo Rolle, Ruel Rolle and Wilfredo Rolle, all of the Philippines.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pedro (May 1998); and two sons, Amolfo and Emmanuel Rolle.
Friends may greet the family from 10:30 until 11:30 AM on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at Justen's Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court, Round Lake.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Round Lake with the Rev. Don Lund officiating. Interment will be in Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. Memorials to the family would be appreciated.

John "Jack" Zdarko
John "Jack" Zdarko, 74, of Pleasant Prairie, WI died Sunday, November 9, 2003 at his residence. Born November 1, 1929 in Titusville, PA, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Kellogg) Zdarko. He attended schools in Titusville and was a 1947 graduate of Titusville High School. On July 20, 1957 in Milwaukee, he married Betty Allman. For 22 years, he served with the United States Navy, and worked as the gym custodian at Waukegan East High School for 22 years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of Pleasant Prairie; two sons, Keith (Kathryn) Gregg of Menasha, WI and Ken (Nancy) Gregg of Beach Park, IL; three daughters, Kristen (Alois) Selecky of Lake Villa, IL, Susan Zdarko of Sacramento, CA and Sharyl (Reid) Schneider of Kenosha; two brothers, Joseph (Olga) Zdarko of North Warren, PA and Richard (Darla) Zdarko of Menlo Park, CA; and nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Christopher, Timothy, Eric, Lindsay, Kevin, Meredith, Brett and Joanna.
Preceding him also in death was a sister in infancy.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12th from 4 until 8 PM at the PIASECKI-ALTHAUS FUNERAL HOME, 3720 - 39th Avenue, Kenosha, WI, 53144. Private entombment will be held in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to Hospice Alliance would be appreciated by the family.

Carl D. Dresser
Carl D. Dresser of Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, died on November 1, 2004.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Dawn (nee DeRue), three adult children, Evan (Meg), Todd, and Bethany as well as three brothers: Richard (Sylvia) of Deerfield, Illinois, Paul (Suzie) of Carrierre, Mississippi, and John (Joanna) of Wayland, Massachusetts, plus four step-siblings: Carolyn Moyers, Carlton (Charlotte) Holm and Christopher (Julie) Holm all of Rhode Island and Craig Holm of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by his aunt, Pauline Hough of Chappaqua, New York, and his cousins Cameron (Tom) Riggs of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Christina (Mark) Hutchins of Falmouth, Maine, and Constance (John) Cronin of Cold Spring, New York, as well as several relatives in California and Rockport, Massachusetts.
Born at Fort Ord, California, in 1953, Carl was the third son of the late Kenneth R. Dresser and his wife, Christine, who made their home in Burlington, Vermont, after Ken's retirement from the United States Navy. Carl attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received his bachelor of science degree in 1974. He subsequently worked as a mechanical engineer for firms in Boston, Philadelphia, and Princeton until 2002. He held several professional licenses and certifications and was an active ASME member.
Visiting hours will be held at the Bringhurst Funeral Home on Belmont Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania on Friday evening, November 12th from 7 to 9 p.m. A brief graveside gathering will take place on Saturday, November 13th at the West Laurel Hill cemetery with the procession to the site beginning at 10:00 a.m. in front of the Bringhurst Home. Lee England
Lee England departed this life November 6, 2004.
He was born March 7, 1948 to Joseph and Grace England in Jackson, Mississippi. He resided in Waukegan, IL for 30 years before moving to Trevor, Wisconsin. He graduated from Brinkley High School in Jackson, Mississippi and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed with the Waukegan Public Schools for over 20 years at various schools including McCall, Clark, Clearview and Lincoln Center.
He was a member of Greater Faith Baptist, Waukegan, IL. He was a member of the Usher Board having served as a part president and also a member of the Twin City Ushers. After moving to Trevor he attended Grace Valley Bible Church.
He is survived by his sons, Lee and Lance England of Waukegan, IL; his former wife, Sylvia England, Waukegan, IL; his step-daughter, Tonya (Todd) Patterson of Evanston, IL; his step-son, Danny Anton Davis of Colombus, Georgia; his mother, Grace England of Jackson, Mississippi; his brother, Joseph England, Jr. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; his two sisters, Deborah A. England of Waukegan, IL; and Sherry (Allen) Burton-Brown of Jackson, Mississippi; and one uncle, Robert Grant of Jackson, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Devin, David and Drew Patterson of Evanston, IL; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and special friend, Cindy Kough.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph England; and his daughter, Kasey Brooks; and his granddaughter, Alannah Brooks.
Visitation will be at 6:00 P.M. and the funeral services at 7:00 P.M. Minday, November 15, 2004 at Greater Faith Church-Baptist, 565 Powell Ave., Waukegan, IL. Pastor C.L. Fairchild officiating.
Interment with military honors will be at Mount Olivet memorial Park in Zion, IL Tuesday 10:00 A.M. from Bradshaw and Range.
Services entrusted to Bradshaw & Range Funeral Home, 2513 Dugdale Rd., Waukegan, IL.
