Lori P. Segin
Lori P. Segin (nee Frase), 40, of St. Helens, OR, passed away Monday, November 5, 2001 at the St. Helens Care Center. She was born February 27, 1961 in Chicago and was a 1979 graduate of Deerfield High School, moving to St. Helens in 1994. She was a former employee of the Spotlight Newspaper and since 1999 became the support staff medical coordinator for the Columbia County Mental Health Department.
Surviving are three brothers, Lewis (Kathy) Frase of Libertyville, Robert Frase, Jr. of Forrest, IL and John (Dawn) Frase of Lake Zurich; three sisters, Ruth Frase of Redway, CA, Eileen Malatino of Decator, GA and Debbie (Darwin) Lang of Montrose, IA; two aunts, Dorothy Wann of Boynton Beach, FL and Mary Anderson of St. Petersburg, FL. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl Frase in 1994 and her father LtCol Robert Frase in 2000.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 12 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville. Interment will follow at Lakeside cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Memorial contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation in her memory.
Dorothy N. Smith
Dorothy N. Smith, 68, of Waukegan, Illinois, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2001 at St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan. She was born March 27, 1933 in Detroit, Alabama.
Survivors include her dearest friend James Kazak. Relatives include James and Melody Smith, grandchildren: 19 mo. old Alexander and 4 year old David, both of Dixon, IL., 2 daughters: Diane Karr of Hamilton, Alabama and Ruth Lollar of Pickensville, Alabama, along with a brother Hershell Martin Lockhart of Armory, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virdie Johnson and James Stacy Lockhart, and sons Philip Lockhart and Sonny Lockhart
Dorothy was cremated. Burial will be private. Your prayers will be appreciated. Burial will be November 12, at 2:00 P.M. at Warren cemetery in Gurnee, IL.
Leora Jean Wilkerson
Leora Jean Wilkerson passed away after a lengthy illness on November 4, 2001 at the Pavilion of Waukegan Nursing Home in Waukegan, Illinois.
She was born March 10, 1925 in Waukegan, Illinois.
Mother Wilkerson was a member of the Greater St. James Temple Church of God in Christ, all of her life under the leadership of the Late Bishop James W. Markham and presently under the leadership of Elder Torrance A. Markham, Sr.
Leora was employed as a nursing assistant at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (formerly known as the V.A. Hospital), Downey, Illinois. St. Therese Hospital, Waukegan, Illinois. Lake Forest Hospital, Lake Forest, Illinois where she later retired in 1983. During her years of service in the medical field, she received numerous awards of recognition for her outstanding performance.
Jean, as she was affectionately called was the matriarch of a loving family of five generations.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two children, one daughter Gwendolyn Brown-Jones of Vernon Hills, Illinois and one son, Julius "Billy" Wilkerson of Portland, Oregon, 2 sisters, Gertrude Barker of Waukegan, Illinois and Evelyn Green of Waukegan, Illinois, 6 grandchildren: Jacqueline Scott of Waukegan, Illinois, Theresa Greer of Zion, Illinois, Darryl (Margie) Brown of Zion, Illinois, Joseph Brown of Chicago, Illinois, Wendy Johnson of O'Fallon, Illinois and Asha Wilkerson of Portland, Oregon; 8 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Her parents Alfred and Mildred Griffin, her husband Julius "Jack" Wilkerson, and one grandson, Brent Wilkerson preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 10, 2001 at Greater St. James Temple Church of God in Christ at 2131 Wright Ave., North Chicago, Illinois, with Elder Torrance A. Markham, Sr. Pastor, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the church. Interment will be held at Mount Olivet Memorial Park cemetery, Zion, Illinois. Donald Williamson
"The Duck"
Donald "The Duck" Williamson, 67, of Zion died on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
Don was born February 18, 1937 in Itawamba County, Mississippi and has lived in Zion for the past 49 years. He graduated from Altheimer High School in Altheimer, Arkansas and served in the National Guard, attaining the rank of Sgt. After coming to Zion in 1955, he first worked at Johns-Manville and later joined th Zion Police force, retiring in 1991 after 22 years. While a Zion Police Officer, Don served as President of the Police Association from 1985 to 1991 and was the officer assigned to Zion-Benton Township High School for many years. He also worked part-time for Funderburk Builders of Winthrop Harbor and Tim's Amoco of Zion. A Mason, he belonged to Anchor & Ark Masonic Lodge #1027 A.F. & A. M. Don was also an avid NASCAR fan and recently he fulfilled a lifelong dream by attending the Talladega Super Speedway races in Talladega, Alabama this year.
Survivors include his two daughters, Donna (Craig) McKinney of Zion and Belinda (Kevin) Reed of Wheaton, Illinois; six grandchildren, Aerial, C.J., and Hayley McKinney and Jake, Matthew Donald and Alexa Reed; a sister, Wavelene Williamson of Festus, Missouri; and his best friend and cousin, Jim (Wendi) Funderburk of Wadsworth. He was preceded in death by his parents; Curtis and Sybil Williamson.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 9, 2004 from 6 to 9 PM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 10th at 10:30 AM at the Congdon Funeral Home with private cremation to follow. Steven E. Hoppe
Steven E. Hoppe, 47, of Harvard, passed away Monday, November 5, 2001 at his residence. He was born February 4, 1954 in Waukegan, Illinois, the son of the late Norman A. Hoppe and Helen E. Hoffmeier.
He leaves his wife Jean Hoppe; his children Brandy Voell and Dennis Hoppe, grandsons Joshua and Michael; sisters Sandra Davis and Norma (Arley) Armstrong, all of Round Lake Park and his nephew John Mahoney, also of Round Lake Park.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, November 9, 2001 at the STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, LTD., 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL. 60030 with Rev. Lisle J. Kauffman of the Calvary Presbyterian Church of Round Lake officiating. Interment will be privately held. Marija Maslar
Marija Maslar, 82, formerly of Gurnee, IL, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at the Winchester House in Libertyville. She was born January 4, 1919 in Lika, Yugoslavia and came to live in the USA in 1951. She was also a former resident of Chicago and Lake Villa. She was a member of The Most Holy Mother of God Serbian Orthodox Monastery in Third Lake and a former member, cook and caretaker of the property of the Serbian Brothers Help in Lake Villa. She was a past president of the Serbian Sisters and before her retirement had been a cook at the Northern Chalet Restaurant in Libertyville.
Surviving are her daughter Kosana (Boris) Gencev of Gurnee, three grandchildren, George, Nick and Maria; two sisters, Ruza Micevic of Duluth, MN and Anka Jurosevic of Yugoslavia; three brothers, Ivo, Mica and Dane Samac, all living in Yugoslavia. She was preceded in death by her husband Rados Maslar on July 4, 1999, whom she met while both were POW's in World War II.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10 at The Most Holy Mother of God Monastery in Third Lake. Interment will follow in the monastery cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville, where Pomen services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimers Association in her memory.
Dianne L. Neubiser
Dianne L. Neubiser, 52 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2001 after a stoic battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born October 5, 1949 in Oak Park, IL the daughter of Edward and Alyce (Protis) Marcussen. She had lived in Lisle, IL spending summers at the home on the lake in Antioch since 1981, moving to town permanently in 1986. Dianne was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church of Antioch, loved reading and her special interests included racquetball, golf, boating, snowmobiling and the Chicago Bears. She attended the College of Lake County becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant and was currently a receptionist at Flo's Family Hair Care in Antioch. On December 20, 1975 she married
Richard Neubiser in Forest Park, IL.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; three sons, Todd (Donna) of Warrenville, IL, Scott and Jeffrey both of Antioch; her mother Alyce Marcussen of Sarasota, FL; one brother, Jon (Freddi Ann) of Houston, TX and one sister, Jean LeClair of Wauconda, IL.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2001 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Antioch, IL. Interment will be private. Friends may call at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH,1055 Main St. (Rte 83) from 4 until 9 p.m. Friday and at the Church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services. Reginald "Red" Satterfield
Reginald "Red" Satterfield of Waukegan, Illinois passed away October 24, 2001 in Antigo, WI. He was the son of the late Frank and Anna Satterfield. He served in the U.S. Army in WW II. Reginald was employed as a fireman in the Waukegan Fire Department for over 20 years, and was a member of the Gurnee American Legion Post and Waukegan Moose Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. On November 24, 1956 he married

Richard "Dick" Stockton Shoemaker, 76, born in Philadelphia, PA on October 17, 1925, passed away on November 3, 2001 at Highland Park Hospital, Highland Park, IL. Son of the late Adelaide B. and Col. Davis Wilbur Shoemaker. Richard lived in Greenwich, CT, Winter Park, FL and Highland Park, IL before moving to Oshkosh, WI in 1972.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Wallach Shoemaker of Oshkosh, WI; three children, Richard D. (Betty) Shoemaker of Highland Park, IL, Ann (the late George) Brigham of Bremerton, WA and David (Wendy) Shoemaker of Oshkosh, WI; a son-in-law, Bill Gavin of Palatine, IL; six grandchildren, Dan, Tim and Peter Gavin, Katy Alexander, and Haley and McKenzie Shoemaker.

Ann M. Brunner
Ann M. Brunner, 98, of Waukegan passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, November 5, 2003. She was born May 29, 1905 in Waukegan and remained a lifelong resident.
She was a member of St. Anastasia Parish and the parish Women's Club and Anastasians. Ann had worked at Great Lakes many years ago.
She is survived by two sons, John (Carole) Brunner of Whitewater, WI and James (Margaret) Brunner of Delton, MI; grandchildren, John Brunner III, Thomas Brunner, Mary Beth Brunner, Ann Jebsen and James Brunner, Jr.; and five great grandchildren; as well as her niece, Joan Stoyanoff of Waukegan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1999; two sisters and one brother, Elizabeth Zoph and Josephine Jenkinson and William Jenkinson; also her granddaughter, Beth Ann Brunner.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 8, 2003 at St. Anastasia Church, 624 Douglas Ave., Waukegan. Interment will be at St. Mary cemetery in Waukegan. Friends may call at church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of mass. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ann Brunner's memory may be made to St. Anastasia Church
