Julia E. Gallegos Manzanares, 38, of Chicago, formerly of Waukegan passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2003 in Chicago, IL. She was born June 25, 1965 in Mexico. She was employed as a cook at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Survivors include her husband, Guillermo Sr.; two sons, Guillermo Jr. and Melvin; her parents, Miguel and Guadalupe Gallegos of Waukegan; two sisters; five brothers all of Waukegan.
preceded in death by an aunt; a cousin; and an uncle.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will be in Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM at Hay Family Church, 450 Keller Ave. Waukegan.

Esther J. Mehus
Esther J. Mehus, 91, of Libertyville, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at her home. She was born July 25, 1912 in Portland, ND and had been a Libertyville resident since 1937. She was a graduate of Mayville State University in Mayville, ND and taught school in ND before moving to Illinois with her husband. Esther was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Libertyville, where she had been a member of the Women's Guild, Fishers of Men and a Sunday School Teacher.
Surviving are her son John Mehus of Wheeling; granddaughter Cindy (Kent) Dean and her great grandchildren, Deana and Kendal Dean, all of Vernon Hills; her sister Hjordis Staupe of Marysville, WA, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Petra Rye, by her husband Clarence "Clippy" Mehus on May 23, 2001, by her daughter Patricia Gahart in 1958 and by seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Park and Garfield Avenues, Libertyville. Interment will follow at Lakeside cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville. Contributions in Esther's memory can be made to her church. .
Ann M. Musur
Ann M. Musur, 92, of Waukegan, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2003 at Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home. She was born August 23, 1911 in Punxsutawney, PA, and has been an area resident for many years.
She was a 52 year member of St. Anastasia Parish, member of the Elks, Moose and YWCA as well as an avid golfer and bowler.
She is survived by her children, Betty (Frank) Trusky of Zion, Norman (Darlene) Musur of Sleepy Hollow, IL, and Anthony (Elaine) Musur, Jr. of McHenry, IL; seven grandchildren, Laurie, Lenard, Larry, Julie, Alicia, TJ and Jeff; nine great grandchildren, Zachery, Alex, Ashley, Eric, Megan, Aidan, Ava, Jessie and Christian; her two sisters and brother, Victoria Basile of PA, Genevieve Mustoshi of MI and Leo Gruca of PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Musur, Sr., December 9, 1971; and her parents, Charles and Anna Gruca.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Monday, November 10, 2003 at St. Anastasia Church, 624 Douglas Ave., Waukegan. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Friends may call at church on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann Musur's memory may be made to Seasons Hospice, 1600 W. Dempster St., Park Ridge, IL 60068.

Charles L. Payson
Charles L. Payson, 74, a resident of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on March 15, 1929 in Spooner, WI., to the late Ernest and Bertha (Messersmith) Payson. He came to Kenosha as a young boy in 1940 and was educated in Kenosha schools.
He was a Corporal with the Infantry Div. in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from January 10, 1951 through October 9, 1952. A Decorated Veteran, he received the Army Overseas Medal in Japan, the Korean Service Medal with the Bronze Star, the Combat Infantry Badge and the U.N. Service Medal.
On April 25, 1953 he married
Virginia Gust in Waukegan, IL. She passed away on November 11, 2000.
He was employed as a machine operator at Johnson Controls for many years, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of the N.R.A. and was a shareholder in Ready Hosting, Inc.
He is survived by two sons, Timothy (Christine) Payson of Las Vegas, NV and Dennis Payson of Pleasant Prairie, WI; one daughter, Mrs. Christine (Dave) Fricke of Union Grove, WI; three grandchildren; one half-brother, Patrick Payson of Racine, WI; and two sisters, Elaine Herr of Kenosha and Helen Julius of Neecedah, WI; and his step-mother, Muriel Crane of Racine, WI.
A Visitation for the late Charles L. Payton will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2003, in Ambrose Hall at the Kemper Center (6501-3rd Avenue) from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Committal Services for Mr. Payson will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park Chapel.

Frank E. Pruski
Frank E. Pruski, 86, of Antioch, IL, passed on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at Condel Medical Center, Libertyville, IL.
He was born in Latrobe, PA, on January 3, 1917, the son of the late Andrew and Helen Pruski. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Antioch, IL. He was a lifelong member of the D.A.V. and a member of the 'Stars and Stripes' in Round Lake, IL. He was retired from the Railroad Express Agency after 31 years of employment. On January 20, 1945 he married
his wife, Eleanor.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eleanor; his son, Frank Jr. of Antioch and his daughter, Susan (James) Carroll of Hayward WI; and his grandsons, Robert (Renee) Jannusch and William (Tammy) Jannusch; and his great granddaughters, Susan, Grace and Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia; and brothers, William, John, Victor, Andrew, and Robert.
Funeral services will begin at 9:15 AM Monday, November 10, 2003 at RINGA FUNERAL HOME, 122 S. Rte. 82, Lake Villa, IL 60048, to St. Peter Church, Antioch, IL, for a 10 AM funeral mass. Estrellita Salvador
Estrellita Salvador, 53, of Waukegan passed away Thursday, November 6, 2003 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She was born October 27, 1950 in the Philippines. She was a member of Living Word Christian Church, worked at Cardinal Health on the assembly line and also worked part-time at Abbott Labs. She was currently President of the Mission Compassion International for the Poor in the Philippines.
Survivors include her husband, Angelo; four children, Allan (Lulu) Salvador, Ellen (Albin) Roman, Ella (Jason) Lingad and Angelo Salvador Jr.; six grandchildren; and three brothers in the Philippines. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Monday, November 10, 2003 at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 305 cemetery Rd. Interment will be in Ascension cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 PM Sunday and 10 to 11 AM on Monday at the funeral home.

Helen R. Steidtman, 81, of Waukegan, IL, died November 4, 2003 at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center. She was born October 20, 1922 in Merrill, WI.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
She is survived by Bill, Bruce (Diana), and three grandchildren and five great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Shirley Kuehn; and one brother John; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, William, and son, Eugue.

John Allen Taylor
John Allen Taylor peacefully departed this life Friday, October 31, 2003 in the comfort of his home and surrounded by loved ones. He was born on December 25, 1931 in Winchester, KY., to the union of the late Robert Lee and Mable Taylor. He gave his life to Christ at a very early age at Midway Baptist Church in Winchester, KY.
He came to Illinois where he wed the late Lucille Taylor in 1970. While in Illinois, he became a devoted member of the Gideon Missionary Baptist Church. His every action exemplified unconditional love for others.
He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his brothers and sisters, Louis (Lynnette) Taylor and Melvin (Gloria) Taylor of Waukegan, IL., Claudia Lenyard, Alvin (Joyce) Taylor of Detroit, MI., Rev. Harold (Peggy) Taylor of Winchester, KY., Raymond (Frances) Taylor of Lexington, KY, and the late Robert Taylor Jr., Lowell Taylor and Donnie Taylor. To cherish his memory, Glenda Johnson of Waukegan, IL; his step-children, Paul (Gina) Coke, Mark (Judith) Rainford and Wayne (Cindy) Peart of Waukegan, IL., and the late Wynnette Hawkins; grandchildren, Christopher, Gillian, Antionette, Lauren, Tiffany, Dana, Michael and Tanya; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, November 7, 2003 at the Gideon Missionary Baptist Church, 1500 Ridgeland Ave., Waukegan, IL. Pastor Wade A. Stevenson officiating. A Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 6:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will be at Warren cemetery, Gurnee, IL. Rose Marie Buksas
Rose Marie Buksas, age 73, of Gurnee, formerly of Waukegan, passed away on November 2, 2001 at her home. She was born September 17, 1928 in Racine, WI.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. She was the past president of the Catholic Womens Club of Lake County and the past vice president and secretary of the Alter and Rosary Society of Immaculate Conception. She was an avid sewer and loved to quilt. She retired in 1991 as a secretary with Great Lakes Public Works Department.
She is survived by her four children, Carol (Mark) Hanly of Elroy, WI., David (Brenilda) Buksas of Indian Harbor Beach, FL, Sharon Neilson of Davis, CA, and Linda Sparks of Park City, IL; eleven grandchildren and six great grand children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on November 4, 1998.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 7, 2001 at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial to take place in Ascension cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington St., and from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 7, 2001 at the church. The Rosary will be recited at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday at the church.
Edward A. "Harper" "Moose" Fleming
Edward A. "Harper" "Moose" Fleming, 83, a longtime Gurnee Resident, died November 2, 2001 in Libertyville.
"Harper" was born April 19, 1918 in Waukegan, the son of the late George and Beatrice (nee Hatton) Fleming, and married
the former Shirley E. Richardson on May 17, 1941 at Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan. "Harper" served in the Army during WWII and was a Prisoner of War. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee, and was a former member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park. He was retired from Civil Service at Great Lakes, and has also worked at Condell Hospital and Coral Chemical. "Harper" was a member of the Zion-Benton Moose Club and the Senior Citizens Bowling League at Bertrands. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing, hunting, horseshoe throwing and cards. He was also an artist, painting and carving miniature wildlife.
"Harper" is survived by his wife, Shirley; two children, Michael J. (Alice) of Antioch and Timothy J. (Nancy) of Hawaii; three grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew and Derek; a brother, George "Pat" of Florida; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilbert, Milton and James.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 9, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Gages Lakes and Hunt Club Roads, Gurnee. Visiting will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. prior to the Mass at the church. Interment will be private. A luncheon after the service will be held at In-Laws Restaurant in Gurnee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Salvation Army would be appreciated in his memory.
