Leo V. Cioni, 86, of Highland Park passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2004 at his home. Born April 8, 1918 in Cherry, Illinois he has been a resident of Highland Park for 65 years. He married
Dorothy Mahen on March 23, 1940 at St. James Church, Highwood and has been happily married
for 64 years. He was a retired marketing supervisor for Commonwealth Edison and was a member of St. James Church, Highwood.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; four children, Tim Cioni of Minneapolis, MN, Lee (Jack) Jashelski of Deerfield, Susie (Terry) Hasek of Lake Forest and John (Luana) Cioni of Highwood; six grandchildren, Tom (Tanya) Cioni of Green Bay, WI, Becky Cioni of Minneapolis, MN, Stacey (Matt) Gordon of Denver, CO, Chad (Jen) Jashelski of Chicago, Michael Cioni of Highwood and Anne Cioni of Highwood; two great grandchildren, Riley and Jordan Cioni; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ollie Ahrens.

Dorene Elaine Gooding (nee Kmoch), 54, born May 15, 1950 in Chicago, IL; passed away November 3, 2004 in Naperville. Teacher, educator and caregiver. Former Den Mother of Cub Scout Pack 55.
Beloved wife of 31 years to the late William Davis Gooding;loving mother of Paul (Michelle), James (Elyssa) and Steve; lovingly anticipated grandmother of Baby Gooding; dear daughter of John and Chrystall Kmoch; fond sister of Alice (John) Merlak, Karen Kmoch and Nancy (Eric) Loos; aunt of Peter O'Brien, Sean (Jaime) O'Brien, Joseph Merlak and many more nieces and nephews.

Sandra J. Greenland
Sandra J. Greenland, age 60, of Grays-lake, IL, died November 3, 2004 at Highland Park Hospital. She was born February 21, 1944 in Portland, Maine.
She was a member of the Waukegan Yacht Club and an RN at Highland Park Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, John W. Greenland; a daughter, Deborah Karwath; a son, Scott Conrad; two stepdaughters, Karen and Holly Greenland; a stepson, John (Angela) Greenland, Jr.; and two grandchildren, Madeline and Robby Karwath.

Betty Maynard
Betty Maynard, 82, of Zion, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at United Hospital in Kenosha.
Betty was born May 8, 1922 in Zion and she was an honor graduate of Carthage College in Kenosha. She retired in 1986, after 36 years of teaching first grade in the Zion Elementary School District #6. She had a deep love for children of that age and enjoyed teaching them to read and write. Betty was also a long time member of Christian Catholic Church, now Christ Community Church, where she served in the Handbell Choir for 17 years and played piano for Wednesday night prayer meeting. The church, it's activities and it's people remained a very important part of Betty's life.
As a pianist, she was a graduate of Zion Conservatory of Music and she enjoyed classical music, often playing duets with her friend Mary. Other hobbies and interests she enjoyed were embroidery, sewing and cooking.
Survivors include her children, Suzi (Kip) Evans of Grayslake, Debbie (Bob) Clement of Zion, Ted (Laura) Maynard of Knoxville, TN and Connie (Tony) Steinke of Winthrop Harbor; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Amber, and Kurt Clement and Ashley Steinke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herb, who passed away just two weeks ago; two brothers, Bobby and Burton; and her parents, Harold and Ethel Lee.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2004 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be private for the family, with interment at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.

Zebedee "Tracy" Pierson III, 40, of Zion, IL passed away on Monday, November 1, 2004 at John's Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He was born May 23, 1964 in Waukegan, IL at St. Therese Hospital to the late Zebedee Pierson Jr. and Audrey Pierson.
Zebedee "Tracy" Pierson III accepted Christ and was baptized at Christian Valley Baptist Church in North Chicago, IL.
He leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Nichelle Pierson; three children, Antwinique D. Walker-Pierson, Zebedee T. Pierson II and Ebonee C. Pierson; four siblings, Michael Pierson, Cheri L. Pierson-White (Stanley), Nichelle G. Gilling (Mark), Troy Pierson; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Zebedee Pierson, Jr.

Albert Lee Scott departed this life on November 2, 2004. He joined First Baptist Church in North Chicago, IL at an early age. He was united in matrimony to Louie Scott. He leaves to mourn his wife, Louie Scott and four children, Noah, Tabitha, Issac and LaDene; his parents, Edward and Lizzie Scott, Sr.; six sisters, Nancy (Dana) Sibert, Margaret Scott, Donna Scott, Patricia (Larry) Montgomery, Christine (Derrick) Little, Jacqueline (Kenneth) Jackson; two brothers, Edward (Betty) Scott, Jr., Michael (Tanette) Scott, all of Waukegan, IL; two aunts, Ola Mae (Ala) Houston, Margaret Rigsbey of Chicago; two uncles, William (Paulette) Scott, Sr. and Howard (Willie Mae) Scott, Sr. of Waukegan and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Albert was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Ola Scott, Sr. and his maternal grandparents, Albert and Nancy Lindsey.

Estelle V. Spinar (nee Malkowski)
Estelle V. Spinar, age 84, a resident of Indiana for the past nine years, formerly of Fox Lake and Chicago, IL died Friday, November 5, in Dyer, IN.
She was born on April 23, 1910 to Paul and Pearl (nee Tabernacki) Malkowski in Chicago after her marriage to William H. Spinar. She was a housewife and mother in her home.
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, the Fox Lake Doer's Club, the Fox Lake Lioness Club. She was a former member of the St. Bede Catholic Church in Ingleside, IL and was a resident of the Lakeland Apartments before moving to Indiana to live with her daughter. In Indiana she was an intercessor for the Crossed Hearts Ministries.
Survivors include her children, William (Ann E.) Spinar of Harrisonburg, VA, Diane H. (Dennis) Dudek of Dyer, IN; her grandchildren, Andrew Wm. (Lisa) Dudek and Aaron F. Dudek, both of Dyer, IN; two great grandchildren, Zakori and Faith; nieces, nephews and other relatives also survived.
She was preceded in death by her husband, by her grandson, Michael J. Spinar, by her brothers, Norman and Walter and by a sister, Helen.
Visitations will be on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the K.K. HAMSHER FUNERAL HOME, 12 N. Pistakee Lk. Fox Lake, IL 60020 (The Chapel On The Lake- one block West of Rte. 12- half a block North of Grand Ave.) and again on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Bede Catholic Church 36455 N. Wilson Rd., Ingleside, IL.

Hugo Frank Wagner
Hugo Frank Wagner, 74, of Waukegan passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at Pinnacle Nursing Home in Waukegan. He was born July 24, 1930 in Oak Park, IL and has been a longtime area resident. He was retired from the Veteran Administration Medical Center in North Chicago.
Hugo is survived by his many friends.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at VA Medical Center Building #4 chapel in North Chicago.

Melba Louise Wilson, 50, of Chicago, IL, passed away November 3, 2004 at John Stroger Cook County Hospital in Chicago. She was born on June 8, 1954 in Helen, Arkansas.
She was employed as a factory and food service worker.
Survivors include her mother, Ruth Wilson of North Chicago, IL; six children, three sons, Shaft Wilson of Waukegan, Michael and Tarell Wilson of North Chicago; two daughters, Shena Wilson of Chicago and Melba Wilson of North Chicago; five brothers, John Wilson and Troy Wilson of Chicago, (twin brother, Micheal Wilson) of Waukegan, Rickey Wilson, Steve Wilson of Waukegan; six sisters, Betty Hines of Zion, IL, Evelyn Crenshaw, Ruth-Diane Wilson, Angela (Anthony) Colfield of North Chicago, IL, Murtise (James) Lowery of Waukegan and Sheryl (Rosevelt) Webb of Waukegan.
She was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Wilson, Sr.; two brothers, Manuel Wilson, Jr., Ivan Wilson; maternal grandparents; one son, Dwayne Wilson, Jr. and two aunts, Elena Toney and Inell Ray.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 8, 2004 at 12 noon at Jesus Name Apostolic Church. 208 Lake St. in Waukegan. Pastor John Caples, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Memorial Park cemetery in Zion, IL.

Henry John Dieterich
Henry John Dieterich, 80, of Waukegan passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2001 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan. He was born March 3, 1921 in Denora, PA. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Henry was also a member of the American Legion Homer Dahringer Post 281, Swedish Glee Club, Waukegan Historical Society, Lake County Republican Federation, Republican Precinct Committeeman, Friends of the Waukegan Library, Waukegan Lake County Chamber of Commerce, Volunteered at the College of Lake County Center for Economic Development, U.S. Steel Management Retirees Club, American Steel and Wire Club, Lake County Coroners Inquest Jury, Victory Memorial Hospital Association, Waukegan Grade School Board and Waukegan Municipal Board Commission. He was a graduate of Penn State University, Class of 1942, and was a member of the Penn State Alumni Association, Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, AARP Legislature chairman for 10 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served in World War II. He retired from U.S. Steel in 1980 after 38 years of employment.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years Marian; two children, Janice (Terry) Hadsell of Waukegan and William (Lori) Dieterich of Portland, OR.; six grandchildren, Nathan Hadsell, a senior at Washington University, St. Louis, MO, Matthew Hadsell, a freshman at University of Chicago, Daniella, Annalisa, Cassandra and Eli Dieterich of Portland, OR.; one brother, Raymond L. Dieterich of Boca Raton and Costa Rica. He was preceded in death by one sister and his parents.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at the First United Methodist Church, 128 N. Utica St., Waukegan, IL with the Rev. Omar Logan officiated. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 AM Tuesday at the church only. Interment will be private at Highland Memorial. Memorials may be sent to the First United Methodist Church.
