Lucille (Rink) Paulson
Lucille (Rink) Paulson was born January 10, 1906 in Henry County, Illinois to Joseph and Nellie (Collins) Rink, the sixth of ten children. Lucille passed away on Monday, June 9, 2003 at her home at Victory Lakes in Lindenhurst, Illinois.
Lucille married
LeRoy T. Paulson in 1933 and for 66 years was a resident of Waukegan, Illinois. She and her husband founded the Parkway Restaurant in Waukegan in 1945 and the family continued to operated the business until 1999. For most of her life she was a member of St. Anastasia Parish in Waukegan, the Waukegan Garden Club, Douglas Chapter and the Faxon Book Club. Lucille was active in many philanthropic ventures including Happy Day Nursery of Waukegan, United Way of Lake County, Holy Child High School, Campion Jesuit High School and the St. Anastasia Parish.
Lucille, an avid golfer, was a member of Glen Flora Country Club until her death. She also served on the Board of the Chicago Women's District Golf Association. In addition, Lucille was an accomplished baker and is fondly remembered by many for her wonderful cakes and pies.
Lucille graduated from Prophetstown High School and the Northern Illinois Teachers College at DeKalb. She was a teacher for several years in the Chicago Public Schools.
Lucille is survived by her four children, Joan (Paul) Ochs of Braintree, Massachusetts, Peter (Jane) Paulson of Sayner, Wisconsin, Roy (Joanne) Paulson of Wadsworth, Illinois and Paula (Joseph) Brennan of Wheaton, Illinois; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy in 1970.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, June 13, 2003 at St. Anastasia Church, 624 Douglas Ave, Waukegan. Visitation will be at Church from 10 AM until time of services. Memorials may be sent to the Sisters of the Holy Child Jesus and St. Anastasia Grade School.

Dorothy Rouse
Dorothy Rouse was born to Mr. and Mrs. Freddie and Jerry Mayfield of Franklin County. She was born December 3, 1923. Dorothy was called home June 1, 2003. She joined Broad River Baptist Church at a young age. In time Dorothy moved to North Chicago where she retired from Downey Vet. Hospital after 32 years of service. While in Chicago she was a member of Mt. Sanai Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Lisa Ward (Daniel); two granddaughters, Tysanna Smith and Timetriana Smith; four brothers, Hugh Mayfield (Locine), Walter Mayfield (Mary) of North Chicago, Howard Mayfield (Mertice) of Kenosha, Wisconsin and Bill Mayfield (Irene) of Tennessee; three sisters, Ollie Johnson, Geneva Burton of Lavonia, Georgia, Frances Polk of North Chicago; one aunt, Jessie Robinson (T.J.) of Lavonia, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Mary Mayfield and Lois Mayfield of North Chicago; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Rouse, her mother and father, two brothers, Herman Mayfield and Dansby Ray, also one sister, Fannie Jarrett.
Services were held Thursday, June 5, 2003 at Broad River Baptist Church in Lavonia, Georgia. Interment was at Church cemetery.
Jeannette Tulumello
Jeannette Tulumello, 91, formerly of Ingleside, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital Residence Home, in Watseka, Illinois. She was born October 9, 1911, in East Lynn, IL to Charles B. and Rosanna (nee Crawford) Darrough.
Formerly of Antioch, she had been a resident of Ingleside since 1956. She attended college in 1929 at Illinois State University and received her teaching certificate and B.A. She then received her masters degree in Political Science and Social Studies from the University of Illinois. Then she received her Ph.D. in Public Law and Government from Columbia University in New York City. She taught in Antioch Community for over 31 years, in the field of social studies, retiring in 1977.
She was a member of many organizations, including the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 703, Illinois and National Retired Teachers Association, Illinois and National Education Association, and Women of the Moose #691.
Survivors include a brother, Donald Darrough of Aledo; a nephew, Charles (Norma) Darrough of Sheldon; and two nieces, Nancy Darrough of Springfield, and Rose (Bon) Sullivan of Champaign.
She was preceded in death by her husband Michael, August 18, 1986; her parents; three brothers, Benjamin, Maxwell, and Josiah Darrough; four sisters, Geraldine McCuen, Frances DePatis, Lucille Julien, and June Beckman; and a niece, Patricia Gibson.

Arthur Harold Chrismas
Arthur Harold Chrismas, 87, life-long resident of the Zion/Winthrop Harbor area died on Friday, June 6, 2003 after living contentedly in his home with the help of his family and other care givers.
Art was born February 5, 1916 in Canada. He was employed by Burgess, Anderson and Tate in Zion for 59 years from 1935 until 1994, was a member of Christ Community Church of Zion where he served as an Usher for 28 years and was a member of the cast of the Zion Passion Play for many years. Art was baptized in the River Jordan in Israel in 1982 while on a trip there with Rev. Roger Ottersen. Art will be remembered as a wonderful father with a great sense of humor. He taught his children the gift of living.
Survivors include his three children James Chrismas of Winthrop Harbor, Jacque (Douglas) Duty of Bristol, Wisconsin and Shirley (Ronald) Zawada of Winthrop Harbor; eleven grandchildren Lorie Valencia, James Chrismas Jr., Wendy Jones, Shaun Chrismas, Cheri Hammock, Cyndi Furo, Douglas Duty Jr., Denise Landa, Jamie Zawada, Natasha Peacy and Shannon Zawada; seventeen great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters George (Patricia) Chrismas of North Carolina, Nelly Lilly of California, Ivy Meeks of North Carolina and John (Marilynn) Chrismas of Arkansas; and many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, his father and mother Walter and Pearle Chrismas, one grandson Terry Welp Jr. and by brothers and sisters Elliott Chrismas, Ida Burnett, Charles Chrismas and Roy Chrismas.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Rev. Jon Wiziarde of Christ Community Church of Zion officiating. Edward A. Devine, Jr.
Edward A. Devine, Jr., 63, of Libertyville, died June 9, 2003 at Kindred Chicago-North Lake, IL. He was born August 6, 1939 in Chicago, the son of the late Edward and Margaret Devine. Mr. Devine had retired from Abbott Laboratories as a Biochemist after 35 years of dedicated scientific research. He had been a 37 year resident of Libertyville. He was a graduate of Nixa High School in Nixa, MO where he had served as president of the FFA. Mr. Devine had earned his B.A. and Master's Degree in Biochemistry from Roosevelt University. He was an avid fan of baseball and enjoyed gardening and the beauty that it brought to his home.
He is survived by his wife Constance (nee Nation) of 40 years; a daughter Cathleen M. (Thomas) Rasnic of Elmhurst; a son Brian C. (Karen Kambara) of Portland, OR; and his grandchildren Lucas, Kirsten and Sammy Rasnic.

Bonnie Disse (nee Larsen)
Bonnie Disse (nee Larsen), 52, a Waukegan Businesswoman and a resident of Fox Lake, IL for the past 11 years, formerly of Gages Lake, IL, died Monday, June 9, 2003 at the Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry, IL.
She was born on March 22, 1951 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to Wallace and Darlene Larsen. She was the President and co-owner (along with her husband) of Liberty Transmission Inc. in Waukegan, IL and attended St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Fremont Center. She enjoyed painting, mosaics, crocheting and crafts of all kinds, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Michael E. Disse of Fox Lake, IL; her children, Michelle (Bob) Opelt of Camp Lake, WI, Melissa (Michael) Morris of Lake Villa, IL, Jeremy (Erika) Disse of Wildwood, IL and Michael Disse Jr. of Fox Lake, IL; her grandchildren, Robert Opelt, Althea Disse, Ben Opelt, Allison Morris and Uma Disse; her mother, Darlene (Erv) Nordlund of Detroit Lakes, MN; her brothers, Terry (Elsie) Larsen, David (Jackie) Larsen and Jason Nordlund all on Minnesota; step brothers and step sisters also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace Larsen.

W.M. "Bill" Fox
W.M. "Bill" Fox, 89, of Vernon Hills, IL, passed away suddenly Monday, June 9, 2003 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born July 2, 1913 in Reddington, Indiana, was a former resident of Waukegan and Lake Bluff, living in Vernon Hills for the past 16 years. Bill received a degree in Bio-Chemistry from Purdue University and his Masters in Dairy Management from Michigan State University.
In the early days of dairy milking technology, he would drive to dairy farms and teach the farmers surge milking. He later retired as a quality control officer serving in product research for the Kalva Corporation in Gurnee. Bill was a member of St. Lawrence Episcopal Church in Libertyville, was a Past Master of the Lake Forest Masonic Lodge and Past Worthy Patron of the Lake Forest Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Edna Fox of Vernon Hills; three children, Fran Gibson of Zionville, IN, Brian Fox of Urbana, IL and Byron Fox of West Lafayette, IN; stepchildren, Hillary (Ray) Gaebler of Palatine and Archie Harders of Arlington, VA; grandchildren, Christy, Bob (Brenda) and Karin; great grandchildren, Brittany, Breanne and Brice.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret "Helen" Fox in 1976 and by his sister Ruth Gilkey.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12 at Hawthorn Lakes Retirement Home, 10 Hawthorn Parkway in Vernon Hills with the Rev. Cynthia J. Hallas, officiating. Pauline A. Hagen
Pauline A. Hagen, 83, enjoyed her remaining years in North Port, FL, passed away on June 5, 2003 at Bon Secours-St. Joseph Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL. She was born in Oakland City, IN on June 9, 1919, the daughter of the late John and Nora (nee Welch) Norrick. She moved to Round Lake, IL after her marriage to Palmer C. Hagen, a musician with the Golden Tones for many years, and who preceded her in death in 1997. They lived to celebrate 60 happy years of marriage. Pauline was an officer at Grayslake National Bank for 20 years and active in all of her children's lives.
She is survived by three children, Dixie Pawlowski (nee Hagen) of North Port, FL; Bonnie (Peter) Pedersen of North Port, FL; Lee "Butch" (Carolyn) Hagen of Coppell, TX; seven grandchildren, Bret A. Pawlowski, Krista M. Pawlowski, Scott A. Pedersen, Jeffrey T. Pedersen, Christopher L. Hagen, Daniel L. Hagen, and Michael L. Hagen; three great-grandchildren, Sami and Connor Hagen, and Thomas Pawlowski; and two sisters, Mary Willis and Laura Parker, both of Oakland City, IN.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Violet O'Neal of Somerville, IN.

Barbara A. Holsinger
Barbara A. Holsinger, 65, of Wadsworth, IL passed away Sunday, June 8, 2003 at the Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born October 9, 1937 in Indianapolis, Indiana, was a former resident of Venice, Florida, living in Wadsworth for the past year and one-half.
Surviving are five children, Jeffrey (Melanie) Holsinger of Camby, IN, Cheryl McEachran of Golden, CO, Scott (Jill) Holsinger of Larkspur, CO, Tracy (Mary) Holsinger of Wadsworth, IL and Steve Holsinger of Denver, CO; nine grandchildren; and a great grandchild; her sister, Jean Crowley of Venice, FL; her brother, Rich Strong of Indianapolis, IN; and her special friends Asa and Casey.

Armin W. Massin
Armin W. Massin, 86, of Libertyville, passed away suddenly Sunday, June 8, 2003 at his home. He was born August 6, 1916 in Glencoe, was a former resident of Highland Park and has lived in Libertyville for the past 27 years. He was a 1934 graduate of New Trier High School and attended Northwestern University in Evanston. Armin was very athletic, enjoyed golfing, won a pair of silver skates and was preparing for the Olympics as a speedskater when World War II changed his life.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War and was a member of the Highland Park Legion Post. Before his retirement, Armin owned and operated the Skokie Valley T.V. in Skokie and following retirement worked in the Pro Shop and as a golf instructor at the Northshore Country Club in Glencoe. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Libertyville, was a Lake County Republican Election Judge, a member of the Libertyville-Mundelein Garden Club and the Skokie Kiwanis Club.
Surviving are his wife Marguerite Massin of Libertyville; his daughter Linda (John) Ebersohl of Chatham, IL; two grandchildren, David (Jennifer) Ebersohl of Chatham and Kirsten Ebersohl of Springfield; great granddaughter Alexis; his sister Helen Palma of California and step children, Diane (Don) Turner, Marlene (Colin Brummet) Krein and David Stecki.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Fri. June 13 at Grace Lutheran Church, 501 Valley Park Drive, Libertyville. Interment will follow a luncheon at the church at Memorial Park in Skokie. Percy McClelland
Percy McClelland was born to Leon and Willie Jo McClelland on January 31, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois. He died Sunday, June 8, 2003. Both parents and a sister, Ora Lee Reed preceded him in death. His birth was the fourth child to this union.
Percy confessed to Christ at an early age at Stewart Avenue Baptist Church under the direction of the Reverend Sneed. Percy graduated from Webster Elementary School and Wendell Phillips High School in Chicago, Illinois. During his tenure in high school, he received many outstanding awards. One of his creations received state recognition during the Science Fair in high school. He also received an award for his creation of a home that was similar to a bomb shelter. After high school, he enlisted in the United states Navy where he served as a Petty Officer.
Percy is fondly remembered as a "caring and loving" older brother by his younger siblings. Hobbies that he shared with his younger sisters, Christine, Helen and Alberta were his love for astronomy and science fiction. He also received several athletic awards for his performance in football and track.
He spent the last several decades of his life at the Veteran's Hospital. He leaves to mourn the following family members, Mary O. Pleas of Nashville, Tennessee, Leroy (Iona) of Chicago, Illinois, Ronald (Shirley) of Inkster, Michigan, Dorothy McClelland of White Plains, New York, Christine McClelland of Bowie, Maryland, Helen McClelland Harris of Country Club Hills, Illinois and Alberta Bachelor of San Diego, California. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and a host of friends to mourn his death. Percy will be missed by all.

Michele Moretti, 82, of Highland Park passed away at his Monday, June 9, 2003 in his garden, doing what he loved, gardening. He was born June 28, 1920 in Valanzano, Bari, Italy and came to the United States at the age of 17. He has been a resident of Highland Park and Highwood since 1946 and was the owner of Mikes Shoes, Highland Park.
Survivors include his children, Luke (Sandy) Moretti of Northbrook, Angelo (Linda) Moretti of Madison, Al, Theresa (Michael) Symmers of Aurora, Michael (Marian) Moretti of Salem, WI, Mario (Shirley) Moretti of Addison and Andrew (Debbie) Moretti of Bellevue, WA; 11 grandchildren, Michael (Tracy) Moretti of Bollingbrook, John (Jennifer) Moretti of San Diego, CA, Christopher Moretti of Ann Arbor, MI, Joseph and Tony Moretti of Madison, AL, James and Kathleen Symmers of Aurora, Nicole, Michael Jr. and Anthony Moretti of Salem, WI and Angelina Moretti of Bellevue, WA; and a brother, Anthony (Nancy) Moretti of Highwood. He is preceded in death by his wife, Angelina on September 5, 1997; and a brother, Andre Moretti.

James "Big Mo" Moses was born on October 9, 1969 in Waukegan, IL. He confessed his life to Christ at an early age. James attended Jefferson Middle School and Waukegan East High School. James departed his life on June 8, 2003 at Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park, IL.

Richard W. Newman
Richard W. Newman, 77, of Lindenhurst, IL passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.
He was born August 5, 1925 in Chicago, IL to the late John and Estelle Newman (nee Westphall). He was a resident of Lindenhurst for over 47 years. He was a wood craftsman and worked at Sullivan Manufacturing in Grayslake. He was a sportsman at heart who loved to fish and watch auto racing, and was an avid miniature train collector. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lake Villa.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Florence Newman (nee Belter); and numerous nieces and nephews.
