Leona D. Stollenwerk
(nee Galster)
Leona D. Stollenwerk (nee Galster), 87, of Lindenhurst, IL passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2003 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan, IL. She was born on June 17, 1915 in Prairie View, Illinois, the daughter of the late Nickolas and Cora (nee Wagner) Galster. She lived in Waukegan for 25 years and then in Deep Lake for 53 years. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lake Villa.
She is survived by her daughter, Kay A. Andino of Milwaukee, WI; her son, R. Gary Stollenwerk of Harvard, IL; her granddaughter, Leslie A. Stollenwerk-Gleason of Lake Forest, IL; a grandson, R. Gerry Stollenwerk of Silver Lake, WI; a great grandson, Conner Christopher Gleason of Lake Forest; and great granddaughter, Morgan Lee Stollenwerk of Silver Lake, WI.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; and her brothers and sisters, Andrew, Marcellia Adams, Valeria, Victor and Arletta Miltimore.
Funeral services were private. Interment was at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of RINGA FUNERAL HOME, Lake Villa, IL. Info: 847-356-2146.

Clyde Swann
Brother Clyde Swann was born in Chopin, Louisiana September 11, 1921, to the union of Todile Swann, Sr. and Sylvia (Young) Swann.
Brother Swann moved to Illinois as a teen. As a young man, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and he served his time during World War II, where he was wounded in battle and received a Purple Heart.
On his return from his time in the armed services, he met Gustava (Wallace) Swann. The two were joined in Holy Matrimony on November 24, 1947.
Brother Swann professed his belief in Christ at an early age. He was the President Emeritus of the Trustee Board of Shiloh Baptist Church. He was also a long-standing Deacon with the church. In addition, he served as the Financial Secretary for a number of years and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Brother Swann was also a member of the Rufus Mitchell Lodge #107. In 1965, he was the Worshipful Master for this organization.
He went home to be with the Lord on May 27, 2003. Brother Swann was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James, Todile and J.B. Swann; and one sister, Vera Lyons.
Brother Swann is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Gustava Swann; two sisters, Gustavia Fradue of Fresno, Californa and Alice Kahana of San Francisco, California; his brothers-in-law, Robert Brown and Reverend Tom Bennett; and many other family members and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Swann was held Saturday, May 31, 2003 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 800 S. Genesee St., Waukegan, IL. Interment was at Sunset Memorial cemetery in Northbrook, IL on May 31, 2003.
Professional services were conducted by WESTGATE FUNERALS, 228 N. Genesee St., Waukegan, IL. (847) 662-8000.

Travis D. Truitt
Travis D. Truitt was born October 21, 1963 in Waukegan, IL and was selected from the garden on Saturday, May 31, 2003. Travis confessed Christ and was baptized by the late Rev. Terrance Johnson of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Travis graduated from North Chicago High School in 1981. He later attended Triton College and completed his education at DeVry University.
Travis has one child, daughter, Tyeller M. Truitt, whom he enjoyed watching countless hours of basketball games with her. He also coached her 6th grade basketball team at St. Anastasia School.
Travis was employed by the City of Lake Forest, but later relocated to Bloomington, Illinois to work in the family business "Gibson Construction Company".
He leaves to cherish his mother, Lula Thomason, daughter Tyeller Truitt, father, Jimmy Truitt Jr., grandmothers, Lillie Wallace and Mary Geater, six uncles, five aunts and a host of great uncles, great aunts, cousins, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Glenn Thomason, Jr., grandfathers, Louis Geater and Jimmy Truitt, Sr., grandmother, Floyd Lee Truitt, great grandmothers Julia Love and Mattie Geater, an uncle, Ezell Truitt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday June 7, 2003 at St. John Baptist Church, 708 Greenwood Ave., Waukegan, Illinois with Rev. Jimmie Johnson, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at North Shore Garden of Memories cemetery, North Chicago, Illinois. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the church. Arrangements by BRADSHAW & RANGE FUNERAL HOME, 2513 Dugdale Road, Waukegan, Illinois (847) 662-3553.

Gail Rose Wilford
Gail Rose Wilford (nee Shepherd), 59, of Waukegan died on Sunday, June 1, 2003 at the home of her daughter in Winthrop Harbor. Gail was born July 1, 1943 in Waukegan, grew up in Waukegan where she attended schools, had lived in Mundelein for 13 years and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for five years before moving back to Waukegan 12 years ago. She was employed at the Jewel Food Store in Gurnee and she was a loving mother, grandmother and good friend to all.
Survivors include her children, Becky (Steve) Shebesta of Winthrop Harbor, Melissa (Steve Todd) Wilford and Jennifer (George) Hendricks both of Zion; a step daughter, Vicki Montez of Gurnee; grandchildren, Chris Wilford, Nicole (Justin) Roberts, Michael Shebesta, Matt Wilford, George Hendricks Jr and Samantha Hendricks; a brother, Maurice (Judy) Shepherd Jr. of Round Lake; and several cousins; her ex-husband and friend, James (Roseann) Wilford of Waukegan; and lots of friends and co-workers. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth Christopher Edward Roberts; and by her father and mother, Maurice and Virginia Shepherd.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 1 PM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Interment will follow at Mr. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Thursday from 12 Noon until time of services at the funeral home.

Eugene M. Blackwell
Eugene M. Blackwell, 59, of Waukegan, passed away May 29, 2002 at Vista St. Therese Medical Center. He was born October 4, 1942 to Eugene Blackwell and Inez Smith in Chicago.
Survivors include 2 daughters Regina Blackwell and Rhonda Ivy of Battle Creek, MI; 3 sons Christopher Blackwell of Battle Creek, MI, Harold Turney and Eugene Turney of Zion, IL; 3 brothers Olland Blackwell and Stanely Coleman of Chicago, IL and Ronald Coleman of Waukegan; 5 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father Eugene Blackwell, mother Inez Smith, sisters Geraldine Blackwell-Deason and Delores Blackwell-Ratcliff.

Stephanie C. Daujotas (nee Penich)
Stephanie C. Daujotas (nee Penich), 87, of Papillion, Nebraska, formerly of Waukegan, IL, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2002 at Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on January 26, 1915 in Waukegan, IL to Jerome and Barbara (nee Makarich) Penich.
She is survived by one son, Joseph (Sandra) Daujotas of Zion, IL; three daughters, Audrey (Richard) Jereb of Raleigh, North Carolina, Elaine (Stanley) Stewart of Westlake Village, California and Bonnie (Hans) Matthiessen of Papillion, Nebraska; nine grandchildren, Laura, Richard, Deanne, Christopher, Karl (Celine), Neil (Michayla), Eric, Alec and Lisa; four great-grandchildren, Drew, Kayla, Brooke and Anika; one sister, Amelia Twardy; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, one brother, Michael Penich, Sr., one sister, Mary Cankar and her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at 11AM at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 6401 Gageslake Rd., Gurnee, IL. Father Farrell Kane and her nephew Deacon Michael Penich, Jr. officiating. Stephanie will be laid to rest at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 from 4PM to 7PM at the Church.

Charles E. Davis
Charles E. Davis, 78, of Sun City West, Arizona, formerly of Waukegan, passed away February 15, 2002 in Sun City West, AZ. He was born September 7, 1923 in Columbus, OH and was a member of Luke Air Force Base Catholic Community Church. He was also a member of Fleet Reserve Association, Men's Club of Sun City West, Honorary Member of Knights of Columbus and a Life Member of the V.F.W. Charles was retired.
He is survived by his wife Pauline.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2002 at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Burial at Ascension cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association, 1280 S. Parker Rd, Denver, CO 80231-2100. MARSH FUNERAL HOME is assisting with the arrangements.

Marjorie B. Jereb
Marjorie B. Jereb, 81, of Waukegan passed away Friday, May 31, 2002 in Waukegan, IL.
She was born January 19, 1921 in Chicago, IL.
Mrs. Jereb was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid Society of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a former Sunday School teacher. she had retired from Globe Department Store in 1980.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Vernon; two sons, James of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Jon (Betsy Diver); two grandchildren, Justin and Jason; nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Betty Ulrich of Baraboo, WI.
She was preceded in death by two brothers; a sister; and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 AM Tuesday, June 4, 2002 in the church.

Juan M. "Bocky" Moran, 55, of Waukegan passed away Thursday, May 30, 2002 at his home.
He was born July 1, 1946 in Yabacoa, Puerto Rico.
He loved baseball.
He is survived by a daughter, Jamie Lorraine Phelps of Waukegan; his father, Felix Moran of Puerto Rico; three brothers, Jose Ivan, Pedro Julio and Rafael Moran; two sisters, Aida Valls and Sandra Moran all of Puerto Rico; and a host of other family and friends in Puerto Rico and the U. S.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and a brother.
Funeral Services and Burial will be private.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday only at the MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF WAUKEGAN, 1521 Washington St.

Anna I. Noll
Anna I. Noll, 77, formerly of Waukegan, passed away May 30, 2002 at Winchester House. She was born November 19, 1924 in Conde, South Dakota and was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Waukegan. She was also a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church's Ladies Aid Society, did volunteer work at the Wooden Nickel in Waukegan, was a world traveler and loved to camp, sew and knit. She was a Registered Nurse and had nursed at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan and also nursed at Winchester House in Libertyville where she had retired after 18 years of employment. She was a Cadet in the Nurse Corps. during World War II.
She is survived by her daughters Christy Noll of Prospect Heights, IL, Cheryl (Mark) Hatzung of Monroe, Michigan and Diana (Bill) Ragan of Lusby, Maryland, and son William (Jan) Noll of Wheeling, IL. She is also survived by her former husband Chuck Noll of Bogart, Georgia, sister Marguerite Schultz of Boulder City, Nevada and 8 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert in 1956 and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1310 N. Frolic Ave., Waukegan, IL with Pastor Steven Radunzel officiating. Burial will be at North Shore Garden of Memories. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Leola Jean Sykes
Leola Jean Sykes departed this life on May 28, 2002. She was born in Monroe, LA, where she accepted Christ at an early age. Leola retired from the V.A. after many years of dedicated service. She was a beautiful, out-going and strong spirited person who enjoyed fishing. She was loved by everyone who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memories her seven children Herbert Lee (Darlene) Sykes, Theresa Sykes, Rosetta (Clarence) Sykes, Juanita Sykes, Kelvin (Camille) Sykes, Lisa (Tony) Sykes and Jacquline Osborn; two sisters Carrie Lee Lewis and Louise Williams and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; special friends Linda Cobb, Dorlester Chandler, Thelma Myles, Martha Davidson, Irene Walker and Ruth Collins. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert Sykes, her mother Rosie Lee Smith, her brother Joelle Simmons and a dear friend Willie Osborn.

Rose L. Cram
Rose L. Cram, 84, of Waukegan passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion. She was born May 18, 1919 in Waukegan and remained a lifelong resident.
Rose was a graduate of Waukegan Township High School, member of the U.S. Steel Retirees Club and had retired, as a computer operator, from Fort Sheridan, prior to that she had worked at American, Steel and Wire Co. Waukegan Plant.
She is survived by her daughter, Alberta "Sandy" (Tom) Oberembt of Pleasant Prairie, WI and her son, Randy Cram of Somers, WI; her grandchildren, Christine Oberembt, Scott Oberembt, Kimberly Cram and Tiffany Cram; and her sister, Sylvia Burkenheim of Waukegan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Cram, also by her parents, Albert and Esther (nee Nadler) Burkenheim; and sister, Margaret Teegarden.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at PETERSON-PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan. Interment will be at Am Echod cemetery in Waukegan. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of services. William R. Denecke
William R. Denecke, age 72, of Round Lake Park, died Sunday, June 1, 2003 at his home. He was born August 5, 1930 in Chicago to William C. and Gertrude (Dreyer) Denecke. On May 18, 1985, he married Margaret M. Miller in Santa Maria, CA.
Born and raised in Chicago, he was a resident of Round Lake Park since 1971. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a meat cutter for the A&P; grocery store for many years. He sold life insurance for the Knights of Columbus, and also was a salesman for Berry Tire of Libertyville. For over ten years, he was a licensed real estate agent for Rockenbach Century 21 of Round Lake. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Round Lake. Hobbies he enjoyed were bowling, and in his younger years, fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Margaret; six children, William E. Denecke of Trevor, WI, Steven Denecke of Round Lake, Michael (Claire) Denecke of McHenry, Lori (John) Ridgeway of Gurnee, Jim (Denise) Denecke of Barrington, Robert (Wendy) Denecke of Genoa City; five step-children, William S. Davis of Santa Maria, CA, Tracy Stephens of Round Lake, Nora Thompson of Santa Maria, Martin (Renee) Johnsen of Santa Maria, and Mary Ann Johnsen of Round Lake; 28 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine (Ed) Perry of Priddis, Alberta, Canada; and a sister-in-law, Trudy Denecke of Round Lake Beach.
He was preceded in death by parents, his wife, Dorothy Mae on June 1, 1979; a grandson, Wayde; and a brother, Kenneth W. Denecke.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at JUSTEN'S ROUND LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 222 N. Rosedale Court (at Cedar Lake Road), Round Lake, IL. Blanche "Bobbie" Koop
Blanche "Bobbie" Koop, 93, of Waukegan, IL died Saturday, May 31, 2003 in McHenry, IL. She was born in Waukegan, IL April 19, 1910 and lived most of her like in the Waukegan/Gurnee area.
She was preceded in death by her son, Richard in 1983 who was killed in an automobile accident; her husband, Rudolph in 1990; her sisters, Lillian Gentry and Bertha Petrusky; and her brothers, Stanley and John Petroski.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Lorraine Koop; grandchildren, Alan (Lorie) Koop, Sheila Eiler, Linda (Jim) Obenauf; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 10:15 AM on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at the SALATA-GURNEE FUNERAL HOME, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee, IL with Mass to follow at 11 AM at St. Mary of Freemont Center Church, 22333 W. Erhart Rd., Mundelein. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville.
