Linda S. Milewski
Linda S. Milewski, 45, of Waukegan passed away on Friday August 2, 2002 at her home. She was born August 27, 1956 in Chicago and had been an area resident her entire life.
She was an active member and vice president of the school teachers union local 504. She had worked for Waukegan School District 60 for 14 years and was a fifth grade teacher at Glen Flora School.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Milewski; her children, Amanda Milewski and Andrew Milewski both of Waukegan; her parents, Henry and Dorothy Sokolowski of Lady Lake, FL; brother, Douglas (Carol) Sokolowski of Gurnee; and 3 nieces, Taylor and Dana Sokolowski of Gurnee and Elizabeth Roberts of Waukegan.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday August 7, 2002 at PETERSON-PATCH FUNERAL HOME 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 P.M. Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of services.

Patricia J. Neer
Patricia J. Neer, (nee Wilhelm) age 73, devoted mother and grandmother was surrounded with the love of her family as she died peacefully in her home on August 4, 2002. She was born on September 1, 1928 in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Patricia is survived by her daughters Laura R. (Dr. David) Fulton, Leslie R. (Steven) Sandberg, Lynnsay J. Riedlinger, her son Wesley C. (Cathy) Neer, Jr. and her 6 grandchildren, Gregory, Nicholas, Tiffany, Natalie, Daniel and Nicole. Others surviving include her sister, Billie (Steven) Barry and her brother, Jacque (Karen) Wilhelm as well as many nieces and nephews.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Edna Wilhelm and her sister, Jacquelyn Bennett Moran.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at the Church of Annunciation Of Our Lady, 5725 Stearns School Road (Stearns School and Dilleys Road), Gurnee, IL. Rosa Trotti
Rosa Trotti, age 104, of Highland Park passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2002 at the Highland Park Health Care Center, Highwood. Born May 6, 1898 in Ivrea, province of Turin, Italy she has been a longtime resident of Highland Park.
Survivors include one son Luciano (Carla) Trotti of Highland Park and one granddaughter Joann Trotti of Highland Park.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at 10 AM at the Saint James Church, 134 North Avenue, Highwood. Ivan C. Brooks, Jr.
Ivan C. Brooks, Jr., 67, of Zion, IL died on Sunday, June 22, 2003 at Pebblebrook Nursing Home in Lake Bluff, Illinois after a protracted illness.
Ivan was born April 7, 1936 in Macomb Illinois and had lived in the Zion area for the past 15 years. After graduating from Macomb High School, he entered the U.S. Air Force and served at various bases in the United States, Japan and Korea until 1962. After the military he was self-employed as a carpet and tile installer.
Survivors include his father Ivan C. Brooks Sr. of Macomb, IL; his mother Bertha M. Hyde-Brooks of Zion, IL; three daughters, Iva R. Brooks of Hopkins, MN, Tamara M. Brooks of St. Paul, MN and Teriece L. (Andre) Brooks-Dukes of Minnetonka, MN; seven grandchildren, Lucius Johnson, Lyle Johnson, Raymond Brooks, LaShawnda Brooks, Anthony Newman Jr., Thaddios L. Brooks, and Andre D. Dukes III; one brother and two sisters, Melvin L. Brooks of Zion, Marjorie B.E. Brooks-Smith of Kinston, NC and Laura J. Brooks of Roanoke, VA; a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and his very special friends, Calvin and Jennie Watkins and their family of Zion.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, paternal grandfather, maternal grandmother and paternal grandmother.
Cremation rites have been accorded at Mt. Olivet Crematory, Zion, IL. Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday August 8, 2003 at Oakwood cemetery, Macomb, IL with military rites by Macomb VFW Post #1921 and Macomb American Legion Post #6. Rhonda Christenson
Rhonda Christenson, 46, of Wadsworth died on Friday, August 1, 2003 at Highland Park Hospital in Highland Park, IL.
Rhonda was born May 2, 1957 in Waukegan. She worked for 15 years with UPS and more recently was owner/manager of Clark's Lounge in Beach Park. Rhonda enjoyed traveling and she devoted herself to her family and work.
Survivors include her husband Thomas; children Nicole Dahlke of Chicago and Carli and Jaide Dahlke both of Wadsworth; step-children Thomas Christenson Jr. of Gurnee and Nicole and Jeremy Christenson both of Tampa, FL; two grandchildren Katie and Adriel Christenson; her father and mother Charles and Glenda Clark of Beach Park; one sister Leah (Don) Straight of Spring Grove, IL; and her maternal grandmother Reva Booth of Zion. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Alvie Booth and by her paternal grandparents Largus and Mamie Clark.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Pastor Paul Gerardy of Memorial United Methodist Church officiating. Cleon C. Crary
Cleon C. Crary, 92, of Zion died on Friday, August 1, 2003 at Terrace North Nursing Home in Zion.
Cleon was born August 16, 1910 in Linton, N.D. and came to Zion with his family at the age of 7. He was a longtime supportive member of Christ Community Church (formerly Christian Catholic Church) of Zion where he also served as an usher, participated in many work parties to Camp Zion, was a stage hand for the Zion Passion Play and served for years as a youth leader with Challengers Youth Group. He was employed at Zion Candy Factory and later retired from Johnson Motors in Waukegan in 1975 after 30 years. Cleon also served his country as a Veteran of World War II, having achieved the rank of Captain and he served as President of the residents council of Terrace North Nursing Home.
Survivors include his children Jim (Barbara) Crary of Gages Lake, Jeanne (Jimmy) Belue of Tishomingo, MS, Kathie (Bob) Burt of Zion and Barb (Tom) Deming of Charlotte, NC; ten grandchildren James, Ruby, Cheri, Sandra, Lisa, Michael, Kris, Ben, Jeff and Sarah; and ten great-grandchildren Aubrey, Shea, David, Delia, Chris, Brittany, Amber, Breanna, Carly and Kaylin. He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth, one great-granddaughter Megan, two sisters Geraldine and Esther, one brother Maynard, one infant brother, and his parents Everett and Minnie Crary.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 8, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Community Church, Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion, with Pastor Ken Langley officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Augusta Daniels
Augusta Daniels, 88, of Waukegan, IL passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at Provena-St. Therese Medical Center. She was born on October 29, 1914 in Eupora, MS to Samuel and Josephine Denton.
She married Jim Tom Daniels in 1932, and from this union came eight children, four boys and four girls. She was faithful and dedicated to the church and joined Woods Chapel Church of God in Christ at an early age under the leadership of Bishop Joe Bell. She became very active in the church, holding the office of secretary, Sunday school teacher, missionary department, prayer warrior, and alter worker. Whatever her hands found to do, she did willingly. She brought up her children to love and fear the Lord, and was mother to all who knew her. She took in strangers, clothed the naked, fed the hungry and gave her best in all that she did, asking nothing in return.
She is survived by four sons Thomas (JoAnn) Daniels of Waukegan, IL, Jimmy (Betty) Daniels of Zion, IL, John Daniels of Waukegan, IL and Joe (Cassandra) Daniels of Beach Park, IL; four daughters Mary (Malcolm) Jones of Hernando, MS, Martha (Jeff) Felton of San Diego, CA, Rebecca Daniels of Waukegan, IL and Joann Daniels of Waukegan, IL; 28 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren; a very special nephew James Daniels; cousin and friend U.L. Jernigan; one sister Martha Davidson of Park City, IL; three brothers Charles (Lisa) Denton, William Denton and John Denton, all of Eupora, MS.

Daniel Gordon Sr.
Daniel Gordon Sr., known to his family and friends as "Bubble" passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2003 at Victory Memorial Hospital. He was 55 years old.
He was born October 11, 1947 in Belzoni, Mississippi to Steve and Velma Gordon. He moved to East St. Louis, Illinois at an early age. In 1962, he moved to North Chicago, Illinois. He attended the Greater St. James Temple Church of God in Christ and served under the leadership of the late Elder James W. Markham.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Velma Gordon of North Chicago; his son, Daniel Gordon Jr. of Detroit, Michigan; a grandson De'Angelo Bailey of Detroit, Michigan; sisters Dorothy (Bennie) Williams, Dahlia (Abraham) Wynn, Goldie (Jasper) Booth, Althea Cabine (Frankie Bashir), Aretha Gordon, Melissa Gordon of Waukegan, Illinois, Maria Harper, Jackie (Lee) Cain of Atlanta Georgia, Helen (Leroy) Gott, Esther May Wells of Cleveland, Ohio, Delores Powell of Belzoni, Mississippi; brothers Melvin, Frank, George, Wallace and Steven Gordon of Waukegan, Illinois, Alvin (Veronica) Quinn of North Chicago, Illinois, John Gordon of Madison, Wisconsin, Martin Gordon of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Herman (Annette) Quinn of Cleveland, Ohio, Eddie (Marcia), Freddie (Adrienne) Quinn of Atlanta, Georgia, John (Ann) Quinn of Seattle, Washington; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Shirley Grandeau (nee Rowland)
Shirley Grandeau (nee Rowland), 46, of Zion and formerly of Wadsworth, died suddenly on Friday, August 1, 2003.
She was born April 1, 1957 in Waukegan and lived most of her life in Zion, where she loved raising her cats.
Shirley is survived by her parents, Charles and Joyce Spencer of Wadsworth, three sisters: Lawana (George) Abbo of Curtis, OH, Darlene (Jesus) Mondragon of Vernon Hills, and Angelique Leith of Wadsworth. Also many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Friends may call Thursday, August 7 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at the GURNEE/SALATA FUNERAL HOME, 4190 Old Grand Ave. Gurnee. Interment will follow at North Shore Garden of Memories.

Isabelle L. "Issy" Kick
Isabelle L. "Issy" Kick, 73, of Libertyville, IL, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2003 at the Condell Medical Center. She was born March 16, 1930 in Waukegan, where she was a 1948 graduate of Holy Child High School and has lived in Libertyville for the past 47 years. Issy was a former member of the Libertyville Women's Club and enjoyed playing in several bridge clubs. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville, where she was a member of the Guild of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a teacher's assistant at St. Joseph School.
Surviving are her husband Arthur Kick and three children, Karen (Edward) Faulkner and Kevin (Mary Kay) Kick, both of Libertyville and Kimberly (Nikki Keefe) Kick of Lindenhurst; seven grandchildren, Rianna, Brandon, Davin, Adam, Travis, Jennifer and Audra; two great grandchildren, Isabel and Kira; her sisters, Evelyn Riley of Gurnee and Marion (Larry) Dixson of Waukegan and her brother Joseph Vioski of Belleview, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Tunie Vioski and her brother William.
Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 6 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville and services will continue to St. Joseph Church for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Lakeside cemetery. John A. Kielp
John A. Kielp, 80, of Waukegan, IL. passed away at home peacefully in his sleep Friday morning, August 1, 2003. He was born February 2, 1923 in Chicago and raised in the Bridgeport neighborhood. Born to Albert and Rose Kielb, he was one of five children. Waukegan has been his home for the past 48 years.
John served his country during WWII as a member of the 2nd Signal Service Battalion stationed outside Washington, D.C. After the war he was employed by Wilson Meatpackers (Chicago) in the research and sanitation division where he met his loving wife, Mary Alyce Bannon. In 1955 while employed by Arwell, he was relocated to Waukegan. He started a food sanitation consulting company, Personnel Training Programs, and an audio-visual production company, Plaid Productions, in 1972. In 1988, he established a new company, Food Protection Systems, which certified food handlers in the state of Illinois. An expert in his field of food sanitation, John was asked to speak at numerous conferences, conventions and seminars around the country. He was instrumental in developing the food handlers' state certification exam for the state of Illinois. he continued his passion of working on training and educational scripts for his workshops and seminars. He also belonged to Illinois Environmental Health Association, AIMFES, Institute of Food Technologists, Illinois Public Health Association, Shamrocks, and Homer Dahringer American Legion Post 281. John was a longtime member of St. Anastasia Parish where he was instrumental in starting the Boy Scout Troop. He was also very involved with the North Side AC little league.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Alyce; his children, Rose (Jim) Turk of Waukegan, Dave (Cyndi) Kielp of Grayslake, Bob Kielp of Beach Park, Jan Kielp of Palatine, Sue (Mark) Paulsen of Beach Park, and Marilyn (Brian) Hughes of Antioch; his 10 grandchildren, Steve, Angie, and John Turk, Jenna Kielp, Dan and Amy Kielp, Stephanie and Samantha Paulsen, and Evan and Neil Hughes, and one sister, Anne Krukowski.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Rosa and Albert Kielb; his two sisters, Veronica Saniuk and Josephine Gorniak and brother, Norman Kielp.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at St. Anastasia Church, 624 Douglas Ave., Waukegan, IL. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at PETERSON-PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan. Ray Lamar Lamper
Ray Lamar Lamper, 68, of Spread Eagle, WI died Friday, August 1, 2003 at his home following a 20 year battle with cancer. He was born on January 26, 1935 in Mt. Carmel, IL, the son of the late Neil and Ann (Litherland) Lamper.
Mr. Lamper was raised in Chicago. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1957-1959. He was a foreman of HVAC for Abbott Labs and Baxter Labs. In 1972 he moved from Chicago to Gurnee, IL where he was a volunteer fireman and EMT for 15 years. In 1997 he moved to Spread Eagle. He loved this part of the country.
Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering in his garage. He was an Amvets life member and a former member of the Shriners and Masons. Ray was very well liked.
He married Vivien Clifford in Chicago on August 10, 1963.
He is survived by his wife Vivien, one daughter June (Jim) Nanninga of Florence, one brother Dick Lamper of Mt. Carmel, IL, a special sister-in-law Faye Clifford Tangery of Spread Eagle, and his three special little people (his grandchildren), his little partner Jeremiah, his little princess Jolene, and his little hugger, Jessica.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the Tondin-Ross & Freeman Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday. Rev. Doug Johnson will officiate.
The Tondin-Ross Freeman Funeral Home of Iron Mountain, MI is in charge of arrangements.

Pamela S. Loffredo
Pamela S. Loffredo, 50, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 31, 2003 in Mocksville, NC after an 11-year battle with breast cancer.
Pam was born September 9, 1952 in Burlington, Wisconsin. The daughter of the late John and Jane (Bradford) Surriano. In August 1985 she married John Loffredo in Waukegan, IL.
She was the source of strength to all who knew her. Pam was a loving devoted wife and mother. She spent many hours volunteering her time to Davie Cancer Services and worked as a licensed cosmetologist, a medical transcriber and payroll clerk. Pam was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mocksville, NC.
She is survived by her loving husband, John; one son, Tom Loffredo of Winston-Salem, NC; one sister, Carol Sorenson of Kenosha, WI; nephews, Chris (Gena) Sorenson of Silver Lake, WI and Cal (Brenda) D. Sorenson of Kenosha, WI and many other loved friends and relatives. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 3, at 2:30 p.m. at Eaton Funeral Home in Mocksville, NC, followed by a Memorial Service at 3 p.m. officiated by Rev. Donald Routh at First United Methodist Church, Mocksville, NC. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 7, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church, 2935 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Visitation at the church from 12-1 p.m. Interment to follow at All Saints cemetery, Pleasant Prairie, WI.

Lila Lucille Lundstrom
Lila Lucille Lundstrom, 85 years old, died August 1st at Sheridan Health Care in Zion. She was born June 15, 1918 in Cromwell, Minnesota and had been a resident of Waukegan for 65 years.
She leaves her two sons, Donald (Kathy) Lundstrom of Beach Park and Gary (Barbara) Lundstrom of Kenosha. Also grandchildren Scott Lundstrom, Karuna Maddava, Paul Price, Rhonda Webb, Donna Knutter and several great-grandchildren. She also leaves sisters Dorothy Chernich, Rose Zacher, and brothers George Balsness and Floyd Balsness, all of Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Alfred in 1995. Also preceding her were her sisters Bernice, Betty and a brother Bud.
Graveside services will be private with Pastor William Oestreich officiating.
She leaves behind many dear relatives, Belle Lundstrom, Rolland Lundstrom, Myrtle Lundstrom, several nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Doloras "Dolly" Madura (nee Dolence), 75 of Waukegan and formerly of North Chicago died Saturday, August 2, 2003 at North terrace Nursing Home, Zion with her family at her side.
She was born February 10, 1928 in North Chicago, IL and lived in Waukegan since 1964, worked at U.S. Steel and Wire and was a former member of Holly Rosary Church.
Doloras is survived by her son, Larry Madura of Beach Park and two daughters, Lorraine (Gene) Backys and Carol (Rick) Laughton, both of Waukegan; three grandchildren, Staci (Victor) Valdez, Jason (Shannon) Laughton and Joseph Madura; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim (Anta) Dolence of Discovery Bay, California; a sister, Lillian (Frank) Shamorian of Waukegan; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Madura in 1984 and her parents, Paul and Josephine Dolence.
Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at Queen of Peace Church with Interment to follow at Ascension cemetery, Libertyville.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at THE SALATA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 729-14th St., North Chicago, IL.
