Margaret B. Stenzel (nee Mackin)
Margaret B. Stenzel (nee Mackin), age 84 of Ava, MO, and long-time resident of Lake County, IL, passed into the arms of our Lord, Wednesday, April 10, 2002 in her home.
Margaret loved her long teaching career of 34 years in the Lake and McHenry County school systems, she has left a positive impact on many lives.
Survivors include her beloved seven daughters: Mary Elizabeth Sladek (CA), Valerie (David) Nyre, Shirleyann (Raymond E.) Russell, Dorothy (Philippe) Brainos (NC), L. Rachel (Dean) Watson (MO), Patricia (Brandon) Olinger (CA), and Therese Slocum (CO); four beloved sons: Paul, Robert (NM), Richard (Christine) and Lawrence Stenzel; beloved sister, Marie (Mackin) Wolf (CO), half-sister Carol (Mackin) (Russ) Castiglia; beloved brothers: Paul (Evelyn) Purcell, Lewis (Joy) Purcell and half-brother Donald (Edith) Mackin; 37 beloved grandchildren; 38 beloved great-grandchildren; Margaret is also survived by many nieces/nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved greatly.
In addition to her beloved husband, Herman in 1964, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one half-brother and an infant grandson.
Immediate Services were private, entrusted to Clinkingbeard, Inc (MO); a Memorial Service and celebration of her life will be held August 10, 2002, St. Gilbert Chapel, 301 E. Belvidere (Rte. 120) Grayslake, IL at noon. Memorials may be made to WTTW, N. St. Louis Ave, Chicago 60625 or a Charity of choice. 847-223-4290.

Edna L. Te Lindert
Edna L. Te Lindert (nee Rice) of Waukegan, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2002. She was born April 3, 1912 in Racine, Wisconsin and had been a member and the Deacon of First Presbyterian Church. She retired from Waukegan Park District.
Survivors include one son with whom she lived with, Kenton and several nieces and nephews in the Cedar Grove, Wisconsin area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vene.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2002 at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington St., Waukegan. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to First Presbyterian "Abiding Memorials" would be greatly appreciated.

C.E. "Skip" Wilson
C.E. "Skip" Wilson, 69, of Raleigh died Thursday, April 18, 2002 at Duke Medical Center. Born January 10, 1933 in Kankakee, Illinois, he was a navy veteran and twenty five year career employee with IBM. "Skip" moved to Raleigh in 1991 from Deerfield, Illinois and was past master of the J.B. Green Masonic Lodge #735 in Raleigh.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Hirth Wilson of the home; sons, Bob Wilson and wife Hanne-Mette of West Palm Beach, FL and Mike Wilson and wife Pam of Beach Park, Illinois; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of BROWN-WYNNE FUNERAL HOME, 1701 E. Millbrook Road with Masonic Rites.

Tom Allen
Tom Allen, 58, of Waukegan, formerly of Elgin, died Sunday, April 15, 2001 in his home.
He was born on May 28, 1942 in Marconi, Miss., the son of Tom and Leo Prescott Allen Sr.
On November 9, 1991, he married Cathy Whiteside in Elgin. He was a laborer for General Mills, a member of Watch City Lodge 131, and a member of the Masonic Temple. He was a devoted member to Progressive Baptist Church in Elgin.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Allen of Waukegan; daughters, Rishanda Allen, Tangella Allen, and Lisa Bryant; sons, Cedric Whiteside, Terrance Allen, Antonio Brown, Patrick Furgson, Cedric Allen, and Thomas Allen III; two sisters, Liz York and Yovonne Wesley; brothers, Russell Macon, Lous Allen, Ronald Allen and Saleem Tawwab; 12 grandchildren; six sisters-in-law; 10 brothers-in-law; mother-in-law, Lillie B. Whiteside; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Marzell Allen.
Services and visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2001 at the Progressive Baptist Church (305 Ann St. Elgin, IL). Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Church, with Pastor Tate officiating. Burial will follow at Bluff City cemetery. Memorials can be made to Progressive Baptist Church, 305 Ann St., Elgin, IL 60120.

Herbert Anderson
Age 89. Of Park City, IL died April 15, 2001 at the Pavilion Nursing Home in Waukegan. He was born March 14, 1912 in Chicago, IL.
He was of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was also a member of Park Place Senior Center. He worked Linberg Steel Heating and Treating for 33 years in Melrose Park Illinois. He married Aileen July 2, 1949.
Survived by granddaughter, Caryn; great granddaughter, Mariah of FL; nephew, Donald (Scharlene) Fox of Plummer, MN; grand niece, Debra (Scott) Greelis of Moorehead, MN; grand nephew, David Fox of Plummer, MN; niece, Georgene (Mike) Carroll of Delaware, OH; nephew, Charles (Mary) Clark of Two River, WI; godson, Brian Montague of Crystal Lake, IL. And many good friends and neighbors.
preceded in death by his wife, Aileen (May 20, 2000); a son, Gerald; parents; a brother, Edwin; and a sister, Elsie.

Edna Isabel Chapman
Edna Isabel Chapman, 87, of Waukegan, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at Ridgeland Nursing Home in Palos Heights, IL.
She was born May 21, 1913 in New York, NY and had been an area resident for most of her life. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, St. Margarets Guild, Ohio State Alumni Association and Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority Association. Edna was a manager and buyer in the retail business and had worked at Charles A. Stevens in Chicago and Nugent-Wenkus Studio in Des Plaines.
She is survived by her niece, Helen (Michael Evans) Fitch of Palos Heights; her nephew, William (Jane) Fitch of Ohio, and her great niece, Christa Fitch. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Emma (nee Higgins) Chapman.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Our Lady at Christ Episcopal Church, 410 Grand Ave., Waukegan on Friday, April 20, 2001 AT 10:00 A.M. with Fr. Albert Majkrzak officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Christ Episcopal Church.

Anna R. DeMilio
Anna R. DeMilio, 64, of Zion, Illinois died on Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at Kenosha Memorial Hospital, Kenosha, Wisconsin.
She was born September 9, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky and moved to Zion in 1961. She retired from Super Value, Kenosha.
Survivors include her children Cindy Lowrance of Zion and Ken (Jordonna) Poe of Kansas, City, Missouri; two grandchildren Breana Rose Middleton and Julia Blair Poe; one sister Mary Kraha of Little Rock, Arkansas; and two brothers Earl (Tinnie) Smith and Raymond (Libby) Pryor, both of Louisville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband James R. DeMilio in 1999 and by her father and mother John and Anna Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 20, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Interment will follow at Ft. Sheridan cemetery, Highwood, Illinois. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Roberto C. Garza
Robert C. Garza, age 68, of Waukegan, Illinois passed away April 17, 2001 at St. Therese. He was born November 5, 1932 in Los Herreras, N.L. Mexico. Mr. Garza attended Holy Family East and retired from Abbott Lab after 28 years.
Survivors include his wife Celia S. Garza, three children: Bertha (Jesus) Lopez; Domingo (Maria) Garza and Maricella Garza, six grandchildren: Jesus (Nicole) Lopez, Jr., John S. Lopez, Veronica C. Garza, Erica E. Garza, Kimberly M. Garza and Marissa D. Garza; three great grandchildren: Magdalena A., Jazalynn M. and Alissa D. Lopez, his mother Consuelo Garza, one nephew Ricardo (Carmen) Garza of Waukegan, many brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Waukegan, Texas and Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father, Domingo Garza, one brother Jose Garza and a cousin Delfino Garza.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 21, 2001 at Holy Family East, 501 E. Utica, Waukegan, IL. Burial will follow at Ascension cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 P.M. Friday and 8:30 - 9:30 A.M. Saturday at MARSH FUNERAL HOME OF WAUKEGAN, 1521 Washington St. Waukegan, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be greatly appreciated.

Jesse L. Jenkins
Jesse L. Jenkins, 38, of Waukegan, IL passed away Friday, April 13, 2001 at Provena St. Therese Medical Center.
He was born October 16, 1962 in Dublin, Mississippi.
Survivors include his mother, Sammye Jenkins; his wife, Anne (Shack) Jenkins; a daughter, Shaquita Jenkins; two brothers, Samuel and Thomas (Verna) Jenkins; two sisters, Willa Mae (Rufus) Blaylock and Georgia Jenkins; five Aunties, Augusta, Airetha, Theresa, Dora and Mattie; four uncles, Sammie, Calvin, James and Eddie; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Jenkins; a brother, Joseph Jenkins; and a cousin, Ricky Allen.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 21, 2001 in the First Fellowship Baptist Church, 124 S. Utica, Waukegan with Pastor L. C. Luther and Rev. Henrey Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Warren cemetery, Gurnee, IL.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service in the church on Saturday.
The MARSH FUNERAL HOME, Waukegan is in charge of arrangements.

Helen Kafka
Helen Kafka, 83 of Mundelein. Funeral services are Saturday, April 21, 2001 at the Kristan Funeral Home P.C., 219 W. Maple Ave. (Route 176) Mundelein. Rev. Mark Selbo of St. Andrews Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Ivanhoe cemetery.
She was born November 7, 1917 in Chicago and died Wednesday April 18, 2001 at Condell Medical Center in Libertville.
Helen is survived by her daughter Gail (Ronald) Kersten of Mundelein; two grandchildren Ronald Jr. Kersten, Beth Doyle, three great grandchildren Brandon Kersten, Shannon Doyle and Ian Doyle, her sister-in-law, Lucille Foreman.
She was preceded in death by her husband George on April 9, 2001.
Visitation is Saturday from 11:00 AM to time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Andrews Lutheran Church 10 S. Lake St. Mundelein, IL. 60060. 847-566-8020.

Ignacio Medina
Ignacio "Chito" "Joe" Medina, 62, of Zion, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at his home, to be eternally reunited with his beloved wife, Mary Alice.
He was born June 12, 1938 in Waukegan and had lived here all of his life. He worked for 19years at OMC in Waukegan and retired from Tuxco Corp. in Gurnee. He also served in the U.S. Army with the 101st Airborne, stationed at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky.
Survivors include his children Robert (Miry) Medina, Leon (Laura) Medina, Becky Decker and Cindy (Frank) Decker, all of Zion; grandchildren Sarah, Eva, Erin, Robbie, Melissa, Alex, Haley and Austin; one brother Leonel Medina of Kenosha, WI., and two sisters Rebecca (Mauro) Chapa and Lydia (Donald) Powers, both of Waukegan, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Medina in September of 2000 and by his parents Ignacio G.(Sr.) and Marta Medina.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 3001 9th Street, Winthrop Harbor with Pastor Michael Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial park, Zion. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion.

Elizabeth Rhodes
Elizabeth Rhodes (Betty Meyers) (nee Faul), age 68, of Waukegan, Illinois passed away April 12, 2001 at Victory Memorial Hospital. She was born February 3, 1933 in Waukegan, IL. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include Sandra Rude of Homewood, IL., Debora (Tom) Bergfield of Suffolk, VA., Karen (Wes) Walborn of Arvada, CO., 4 grandchildren and a sister Ruth (Wally) Humphries of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband Dusty Rhodes and her parents Ralph and Ileen Faul.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 21, 2001 at MARSH FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Washington St., Waukegan, IL., with Father James Merold officiating. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in her name.

Nicholas A. Sassin
Nicholas A. Sassin, 18, of Libertyville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, from injuries received in an automobile accident on Easter Sunday. He was born July 8, 1982 in Hoffman Estates and had lived in Barrington, IL. and Albuquerque, NM. before moving to Libertyville in 1996. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish and was an avid BMX bike rider who was in training for the National BMX Competition to be held in Pennsylvania this summer.
Surviving are his parents, Fred and Sue (nee Evertz) Sassin, his sister Sophia and brothers Andrew and Matthew, all of Libertyville; and Maternal Grandparents, Max and Marietta Evertz of Garrison, MN. He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, Fred and Nota Sassin of Detroit.
Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2001 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Avenue, Libertyville, and continue to St. Joseph Church for funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Info: (847) 362-3009

Joanne Marie Stenerson
Our sweet mother, Joanne Marie Stenerson (nee Scroggins), died peacefully at home April 3, 2001 after a courageous battle with cancer.
JoAnne's final days were spent with her family and friends.
She was born in Waukegan, IL. on July 18, 1940. JoAnne married Edson M. Stenerson and had three children during their 21-year marriage. She is survived by her children: Pamela Anne Stenerson-Walker of Seattle, Washington; Tamara Lynn Stenerson of San Juan Capistrano and Christopher Mikal Stenerson of Corona; much loved grandson Christopher Ryan Rebeck-Stenerson of San Juan Capistrano; and son-in law Peter Walker, also of Seattle, Washington. The youngest of seven children, JoAnne is survived by Dorothy (Dr. Gilbert) Mackey of Oldsmar, FL., Richard "Dick" (Theresa) Scroggins of Houston, TX., Dolores Nelson of Waukegan, IL., Louise (Lenny) Niemi of Gurnee, IL., Milton "Bud" (Roberta) Scroggins of Waukegan, IL., and jack (Barbara) Scroggins of Simi Valley. She is also survived by 25 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents Pauline Emma (Scroggins Temp on May 25, 1994 and Milton Scroggins on Dec. 24, 1963.
JoAnne was an apartment manager until she retired last May. She loved visiting with friends and family and could often be found in the early morning hours at the Vintage restaurant socializing and enjoying a cup of coffee.
During the past several years, she enjoyed traveling around the states to visit family and recently traveled to Europe and Victoria, B.C. We will miss our mother;s tenaciousness and long for her laughter and endearing sweetness.
Visitation was April 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. with Rosary read by her brother Jack Scroggins. Mass was April 9, 2001 in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Rev. Father Chris officiating. Interment took place at Ascension cemetery, 24754 Trabuco Rd., Lake Forest. LESNESKI MORTUARY in San Clemente was in charge of arrangements.

Christina Todorovic
Christina Todorovic, 70, of North Port, Florida, passed away Monday, April 16, 2001 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital after a seven month illness. She was born June 14, 1930 in Vratare, near Krusevac, Serbia, Yugoslavia, the second of four daughters of Borivoje and Milica Radojkovic. She had lived in Vratare before moving to the United States in 1971, where she was a former resident of Kenosha, WI., Waukegan and Libertyville before retiring to North Port in 1996.
Mrs. Todorovic was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose family was the center of her life. She was also a lifelong member of her local church and her hobbies included gardening and crochet.
Family members include her husband of fifty years, Milivoje Todorovic of North Port; son Dragoljub (Marija) Todorovic of Libertyville; grandsons Milorad and David and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her sister Vera (Toplica) Vasic of Cicevac, Serbia, Yugoslavia.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville, where the Pomen service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Prayers will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home followed by Orthodox services at 11:00 a.m. at The Most Holy Mother of God Monastery, 35240 Grant St., Third Lake, IL. with Bishop Longin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to The Most Holy Mother of God Monastery in her memory. Info: (847) 362-3009.
