Helen Elizabeth Coon Heaven "Sissy"
Helen Elizabeth Coon Heaven, 68. died at home April 11, 2005, after a long fight with arthritis. Helen was born January 11, 1937 in Waukegan.
She was a 1954 graduate of Holy Child High School, a 42 year member of the Waukegan Woman of the Moose, Chapter #792, and a member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park. Helen was a devoted wife and mother married
49 years ago on April 21st at the Immaculate Conception Church to Ralph Heaven Sr.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Laura (Kermit) Heaven-Ewell of Waukegan and Lisa (Joseph) Heaven-Baum of Cary, IL; three sons, Dr. Ralph (Jill) Heaven Jr. of Abilene, TX, Michael (Cynthia) Heaven of Coralville, IA and Andrew (Deedee) Heaven of Wildwood; five granddaughters, Christine, Amanda, Alyssa, Rachel and Ally; four grandsons, Geoffrey, Jonathan, Justin and Andrew, and her three grandchildren of choice Eric, Adam and Marissa Jaikaitis; two sisters, Mary Ellen Kirtz of Gurnee, and Martha Wendt of Kenosha, WI; two brothers, Joseph Coon of Waukegan, and William Coon of Kenosha; sister-in-law, Mary Alice McPherson of Mattoon, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Coon; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Heaven.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, April 15, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd., Beach Park. Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, 2005, from 5 until 8 PM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Interment is private for the family.

Frances O. Kok-Alblas
Frances O. Kok-Alblas, 84, of Libertyville, IL passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at the Winchester House in Libertyville. She was born May 20, 1920 in Libertyville and had been a resident of Canon City, CO from 1971-1990. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Libertyville and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary in CO.
Surviving are two children, Linda (Robert) Giesen of Virginia Beach, VA and Ron (Kim) Kok-Alblas of Chicago; five grandchildren, David, Doug, Jennifer, Katie and Jeff; six great-grandchildren ; and her sister, Gertrude (Russell) Nelsen of Libertyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Lydia Mesenbrink; by her husband, Claude Kok-Alblas in 1990; and by her brother, Paul Mesenbrink.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, April 15 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Park and Garfield Avenues, Libertyville. Interment will follow at Lakeside cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Christian Outreach of Lutherans, 658 Grand Ave., Waukegan, IL 60085.

Lorraine D. Kwiatkowski
Lorraine D. Kwiatkowski, 82, of Lake Villa, IL passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at her home in Lake Villa.
She was born in Chicago, IL on June 22, 1922, the daughter of the late William and Rose Rumbler. She was a resident of Lake Villa for the past 33 years and was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lake Villa. She was retired from the Teletype Corporation after 29 years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
She is survived by her son, Daniel (Audrey) Kwiatkowski of Lake Villa; her grandchildren, Lori (Rob) Quane, Michael and Sheri; and her great granddaughter, Emma Faith Quane.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ronald; and her brother, Melvin Rumbler.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 AM on Saturday, April 16, 2005 from RINGA FUNERAL HOME, 122 S. Milwaukee Ave (Rte. 83), Lake Villa, IL to Prince of Peace Church, 10 AM funeral Mass. Remo D. Piazzi
Remo D. Piazzi, 72, of Mundelein, IL, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at the Evanston Hospital.
He was born June 3, 1932 in Waukegan, grew up in Highwood and was a former longtime resident of Libertyville. He was a veteran of the US Airforce and was a former very active Junior Achievement Sponsor. Not wanting to retire, Remo was still the president of United Educators in Lake Bluff, where he has been employed for the past 49 years. He also enjoyed golfing and was a former member of the McHenry Country Club.
Surviving are his wife, Yvonne (nee Stroessler) Piazzi ; three daughters, Susan (Ken) Kunin of Gurnee, Lynn (Martin) Ticar of Vernon Hills and Jill (Steve) Kuscsik of Gurnee; five grandchildren, Courtney, Dominick and Bradley Kunin, Alex and Ryan Kuscsik; one sister, Rena King of Scottsdale, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luigi and Ernesta (nee Zanotti) Piazzi; by his brother, Corrado; and his father and mother-in-law, Hans and Olga Stroessler.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16 at the Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1512 Artaius Parkway, Libertyville. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Ruth M. Stried
Ruth M. Stried, 92, of Zion, IL, died on Monday, April 11, 2005, at home.
Ruth was born January 20, 1913, in Auburn, IN, and moved to Zion with her mother when she was eight years old. She was employed at the former Marshall Field Lace Factory in Zion for 19 years, and at the retail store in Chicago for six years.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara D. Ricard of Zion; three grandchildren, Jane (Richard) Johnston of North Glenn, CO, Shirley Hinz of Bradenton, FL and Sherry Paolucci of Redford, MI; four great-grandchildren, Kris Gustafson, Jeff Johnston, Brian Hinz and Paul Hinz; six great-great-grandchildren, Jason, Brandon, Nick and Noah Gustafson and Brittany and Derek Johnston.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Elmer in 1988; and son-in-law, Homer Ricard in 1983.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 10:00 AM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Pastor Douglas Carlson of the Grace Missionary Church of Zion officiating. Rolando P. Vidal
Funeral services for Rolando P. Vidal, 74, of Mundelein are private from the Kristan Funeral Home P.C., 219 West Maple Ave., Mundelein. He was born April 6, 1931 in Guantanamo, Cuba and died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at home.
Rolando was a TV and radio broadcaster in Havana, Cuba and Madrid, Spain. He migrated to the United States and became a proud citizen. Rolando was employed at Abbott Labs in North Chicago for 20 years. He loved animals, especially dogs and enjoyed movies and entertaining his friends and family with his knowledge of Hollywood. Rolando was fascinated with modern technology but most of all adored his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Nadya (nee Sequeira); his daughter, Copelia (Steven) Appelhans of Mundelein; his sister, Irais Pazos of Havana, Cuba; his grandchildren, Letitia, Lindsey, Priscilla, Nadya, Delaney and Kyle; his aunt, Maria T. Alvarez of Waukegan; his cousins, Martha Wittman, Diego Becancourt of Waukegan, Olga Cabal, Belkis Driscoll of Kenosha, WI.

Steven K. Werchek, 46, of Lake Villa, IL passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 11, 2005 at St. Therese Medical Center, Waukegan, IL.
He was born in Libertyville, IL on August 20, 1958, the son of Helen and the late John Werchek. He was a resident of Lake Villa for the past 18 years, having moved from Libertyville. He was employed with Thelen Sand & Gravel Corp. of Antioch for the past 18 years. He coached soccer and iceless hockey.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children, Ronnie, Dan, Bill, Steven, John, Taklah, Rosalind, Nicole, Britney and Brian; his granddaughter, Nina; his mother, Helen; and his sisters, Linda (Dave) Beake of Nevada and Denise (Gordon) Fischer of Libertyville; and his brother, Michael (Karla) Werchek of Libertyville. He was preceded in death by his father, John.

Charles R. Wikel Jr.
Charles R. Wikel Jr., 89, of Waukegan passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2005. He was born in Chicago to Charles and Erna Wikel and was raised in Waukegan.
Chuck is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Ruth (Butler) Wikel; and their two daughters, Susan (James) Reeder of Fremont, CA and Linda (Edward) Clinton of Sunol, CA. In addition, he leaves behind five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and a great granddaughter; as well as a sister, Dorothy (Wikel) Blanchard of Sunriver, OR.
He graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1934 and went on to complete his B.E. degree at Northern Illinois State Teachers College. He began a lifelong career with the Johns-Manville Corporation in 1941 that included positions as Plant Manager in Hayward, CA; Chillicothe, OH and Waukegan until his retirement in 1979. Chuck followed his father's footsteps, Charles Sr., who had previously been the J-M Plant Manager.
Chuck was a member of the Waukegan Grade School Board, a member of the Board of the Family Service Agency, and a member of the Lake County Shrine Club, Lodge 78, Medinah Temple, Scottish Rite.

LaVonne J. Brady, age 75, of Waukegan, Illinois passed away April 11, 2001 at her home. She was born August 20, 1925 in Newfolden, MN. She was a member of Trinity United Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her 3 children: Vicki (Vic) Mitrikeff, Janet (Nick) Patmezas and Charles J. Brady, 6 grandchildren and 2 brothers. She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin K. Brady on September 24, 1998 as well as many brothers and sisters. She had been a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.

Robert Duncan, age 58, of Waukegan, Illinois died on Monday, April 9, 2001 at the St. Francis Hospital, Evanston, Illinois.
He was born October 11, 1942 in Hernando, Mississippi and was employed at International Harvester in Libertyville, Illinois as a welder for many years before his illness.
Survivors include his mother, Louise Duncan of Waukegan, IL; four sisters, Rezoila (Howard) McLaughlin of Baltimore, MD, Helen Davis of Milwaukee, WI, Henrietta (Willie) Garrett of North Chicago and Sylvia Duncan of Waukegan, IL; five brothers, Lewis Duncan, Rufus (Anita) Duncan both of Waukegan, IL, Chester (Jacqueline) Duncan of Zion, IL, Charles (Mary) Duncan, Jr., of North Chicago and Darren (Yvonne) Duncan of Battle Creek, MI; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including a very close and dear friend, Otis Sawyer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Duncan; two brothers, Narvail and Richard Duncan; one sister, Jean Rattler.

Jessie Nathaniel Greene, Infant son of Lucas and Rachel Greene of Zion, Illinois died April 10, 2001.
Besides his parents he is also survived by two brothers, Seth and Micah; a paternal grandfather, Mark G. Greene of Memphis, Tennessee; maternal grandparents, Rev. Rocky and Glenda Seffinga of Zion; and a maternal great-grandmother, Bernice Seffinga of Zion.

Earl G. Maether
Earl G. Maether, 79, of Libertyville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at his home. He was born June 2, 1921 in Wauconda and had been a Libertyville resident for the past 75 years. He was a 1939 graduate of Libertyville High School and a US Army Veteran, having served in Europe during WW II. Earl later served during the Korean Conflict, was a former member of the Libertyville VFW Post and a member of the Libertyville American Legion Post #329. He was also a member of Grace Lutheran Church, a former member of the Libertyville Rotary club and a 40 year employee and manager of Langworthy's of Libertyville.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Geri Maether and 2 daughters, Marilyn (Alan) Copeland and Linda (Julius) Perez, all of Libertyville; 4 grandchildren: Lindsay, Ian, Rachel and Derek; 2 sisters, Ilene (Roger) Lauret of Waukegan and Betty (Douglas) Fisher of Lake Ozark, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Blanche Maether and by his sister Pearl.

Jeanette R. Mitchell (nee Reardon), 93, of Miami Lakes, Florida, formerly a 50 year resident of Waukegan, Illinois passed away March 31, 2001. She was a retired executive secretary for Abbott Laboratories.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Mitchell, dear mother of Roger (Carol) and Gary, loved grandmother of Mark (Lisa), Kim (Doug) and Kelly (Kevin), fond great-grandmother of Daniel, Kelli, Kylie and Konnor and loving caregiver Sharon Riled.

Helen Ann Mocogni, age 75 of Highwood passed away peacefully in Christ Jesus on Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at her home.
She was born May 2, 1925 in Highland Park, Illinois and was a Highwood resident all her life. She was a member of St. James Church and was the retired secretary of the St. James School, Highwood.
Survivors include her three children Paul (Pat) Mocogni, Steve (Donna) Mocogni and Frida (Patrick) Leverick; six grandchildren Erik and Amanda Mocogni, Robert and Matthew Leverick and Jamie and Jodi Nanini; one sister Marietta (Mike) Mocogni and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Steve on June 3, 1999. One sister Lina (John) Ori and her parents Edidio and Frida Mocogni.

Willie L. Myles, 69, of Chandler, AZ., and formerly of Lake County for many years, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2001 in Chandler.
He was born January 11, 1932 in Madison, Mississippi. He was a member, Deacon and Trustee of the Congregational Church of the Valley in Chandler. He was an avid bowler and had been employed prior to his retirement as a Maintenance Supervisor at Lake Forest High School for over 26 years.
He is survived by his wife, Shirlee; children Ricky Myles of Waukegan, Cindy Richards-Taylor of Waukegan, Cheryl (Vinson) Tate of North Chicago, John S. Richards, Jr., of Kenosha, WI., and Crystal Richards of Chandler, AZ., 2 sisters and 2 brothers: Penny Coleman of Jackson, MS., Carl E. Myers of Wayne, IL., Dorothy Dickie of Brandon, MS., and Russell Myers of Detroit, MI., 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leah "Di" and T.J. Weakley.
