Carolina "Tina" Custer (nee Alaia)
Carolina "Tina" Custer (nee Alaia), 79, of Libertyville, died Thursday, April 8, 2004 at Condell Memorial Center in Libertyville. She was born January 12, 1925 in Naples, Italy where she became a War Bride to Sgt. Donald Custer, Sr of the U.S. Army.
Mrs. Custer was a 50 year resident of Libertyville and had also been a member of St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville for that entire time.
She had retired from employment with the Archdiocese of Chicago at the University of St. Mary of the Lake, Mundelein, IL.
She is survived by her sons, Donald (Barbara) Custer, Jr. of Grayslake, John (Carole) Custer of TN and Mark (Mary) Custer of Wauconda; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren along with two sisters and a brother who reside in Italy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, Sr and her son, Robert.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 13 from McMurrough Chapel, 101 Park Place Libertyville to St. Joseph Church, Libertyville for mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery.

Howard E. Foreman
Howard E. Foreman, 59 of Libertyville, IL, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2004 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He was born July 28, 1944 in Menasha, WI and had been a Libertyville resident since 1985.
Howard was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh and received Masters Degrees from Colorado State University and Northeastern University in Chicago. He was the Director of Academic Support Services at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake. In that role, directed the special needs, testing center and the Sage Learning Center for students of the college.
He was an avid, life-long Cubs fan, as well as an avid supporter of youth sports in the Libertyville area. He was a former little league and softball coach and a former English and Journalism Professor at several colleges and universities. Howard dedicated his professional and personal life to coaching and helping others achieve life's goals, aspirations and overcoming challenges.
Surviving are his wife, Janet (nee Brelig) Foreman and three children, Greg and Liana Foreman of Libertyville and David Whitney of Denver, CO; his sister, Ardis (Tim) Chase of Atlanta, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Roma Foreman and by his brother Donald.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, April 14 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville, with the Rev. Dr. Larry E. Leonard, officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Howard Foreman Special Needs Scholarship Fund established at McHenry County College. Gregory J. Gardner
Gregory J. Gardner, 40, of Grayslake, IL, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2004 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born April 18, 1963 in Libertyville. He was a 1982 Graduate of Libertyville High School and a Grayslake resident for the past 10 years. Greg was a former letter carrier for the US Postal Service in Lake Forest and a member of the United Methodist Church in Ingleside.
Surviving are his wife Bonnie (nee Hartnett) Gardner and three children, Deanna, Corine and Geoffrey, all of Grayslake; his parents, Paul and Rose Gardner of Spring Grove; two sisters, Paula (Fred) Usmiller of Spring Grove and Becky Maslanka of Anchorage, AK; three brothers, Norman Gardner of Waukegan, Bruce (Darlene) Gardner of Spring Grove and Byron (Dina) Gardner of Arlington Heights; also surviving are his mother-in-law, Carol Hartnett and sisters-in-law, Brenda Drehobl , Karen Hartnett and Kathy Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 13 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville. Interment will follow at Lakeside cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday. In lieu of flowers, an education fund is being established at Libertyville Bank and Trust for Greg's children.

Edward S. Jozefowicz
Edward S. Jozefowicz, 62, of Antioch passed away Thursday, April 8, 2004 at his home. He was born August 7, 1941 in Chicago the son of the late Eugene and Viola (Radawicz) Jozefowicz. Edward grew up in Trevor, WI and has lived in Antioch since the early 1960's.
Before his retirement, Edward was the manager of the Jefferson Ice Station and was a volunteer fireman with the Antioch Fire Department. His special interest was going to the Antioch Library everyday.
Survivors include his three daughters, Bonnie Jozefowicz, Linda (Eric) Proper and Julie Jozefowicz all of Largo, FL; his sisters and brother, Rita (Robert) Smith of Loveland, CO, Victor (Sherrie) Jozefowicz of Carpentersville, IL and Diane Schoenfeld of Streamwood, IL; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Chester.
Funeral service with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2004 at St. Peter Church Antioch, IL. Interment will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens Dundee, IL. Henry G. Melton
Henry G. "Hank" Melton, 73, of Winthrop Harbor, died on Friday, April 9, 2004 at Sheridan Medical Complex in Kenosha, WI.
Hank was born September 3, 1930 in Murphysboro, IL, and had lived in Chicago, for 46 years before moving to Winthrop Harbor three years ago. He attended Zion East congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. In 1989 he retired from the Merchandise Mart in Chicago and prior to that her worked as a Punch Press Operator for Bates Printing Company in Chicago. A Veteran, he served after World War II with the Army and during the Korean Conflict with the Marines.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Martha; children, Laura Ann (John) Dokla of Chicago, Betty Louise Melton of Winthrop Harbor; two grandchildren, Andrew Scott Melton and Lyndsey Robyn Melton; brothers and sisters, Ruth Kelly of Chicago, Hortense Lee of Waterloo, IL, Donald Melton of Schiller Park, IL, Bettie Robinson of Waterloo, IL, Gloria Gibson of Waterloo, Patrick (Wanda) Melton of Japan and Shirley Zarate of Waterloo; and several nephews, nieces, and great and great-great nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Melton; one sister, Dorothy Kessler and his parents Arthur and Mary Melton.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Kwame Nyanya of Zion East Congregation, Jehovah's Witnesses, officiating. Joanne Quilty
Joanne Quilty, 54, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away April 9, 2004 at her home under Hospice Care. She was born in New York.
She moved to St. Petersburg from North Carolina in 1985. She was employed as Director of Marketing by the Hilton Hotel in St. Petersburg. She was a member of the catholic church.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-three in a half years, Martin; a son, Sean Quilty of Georgia; four daughters, Erin Willey, CA, Shannon Quilty, CA, Dana McEllis, CA, Heather Quilty, FL; her mother, Florence Ulman, AZ; a brother, John Sheehan, AZ; three sisters, Jackie Testa, CA, Nancy Myrick, AZ and Kathy Molzcan, AZ and six grandchildren.

Gladys L. Stoner
Gladys L. Stoner, 88, of Lindenhurst, IL, formerly of Waukegan, passed away at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan, IL on Thursday, April 8, 2004. She was born in Waukegan, Illinois on February 9, 1916, the daughter of the late Irene (nee Miltimore) and Grover Stoner. She was a long time resident of Waukegan before moving to Leisure Village in Fox Lake where she lived for ten years. For the past two years, she was a resident of Victory Lakes Care Center. She was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Fox Lake. Gladys was active in the senior centers in Antioch and Round Lake, and was affiliated with the Country Charmers Line Dancers of Antioch. She was a member of the Antioch Moose - Lodge 525 and A.A.R.P. She was retired from Abbott after 42 years of service.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Don) Lichter of Salem, WI and Jenny (Hal) Hawkins of Davenport, FL; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; her sister, Margie Berry of Georgia; and her brother, Dale Stoner of Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Stoner.

Roy C. Bryan, 82, of Lindenhurst, IL, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2004 at the Highland Park Hospital. He was born March 10, 1923 in Delphos, OH, was a former Mundelein resident, living in Lindenhurst for the past 10 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during World War II and was a member of the Abundant Life Church in Round Lake. Roy was a retired operating engineer in Lake County and a member of Local #150.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Eva (nee Trute) Bryan; two children, Brad (Carol) Bryan and Hollie (Jeff) Petersen, both of Libertyville; his grandchildren, Julie (Jim) Wilson, Paul (Rhonda) Petersen, Nicole Whitten, Shawn (Stephen) Kueber and Christopher Bryan; seven great grandchildren, Zachary, Brittney, Mathew, Emily, Joshua, Carly and Taylor; two brothers, Kenneth (Adian) Bryan and James (Patricia) Bryan; three sisters, Leoda Rybicki, Ruby Bryan and Mary Neuman.

Aiona Q. Daniels
Aiona Q. Daniels, age 41, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan. She was born May 20, 1962 in Pensacola, FL to Charles A. Daniels and Constance Fields.
Aiona was a member of Greater St. James C.O.G.I.C. and worshipped in the choir for several years. She graduated from North Chicago High School and later attended the College of Lake County.
She leaves her beloved family to cherish her memory; her loving son, Marque and her loving daughter, Marquesa Daniels, whom she loved very much; her loving father, Charles (Bertina) Daniels; her loving mother, Constance Fields; her dear brother and sister, Charles (Crystal) Daniels, Jr. of Oregon and Tywnia (Aaron) Brewton of Gurnee, IL; beloved nieces and nephews, Charles III, Damon, Danyelle, and Angela Daniels, Aaron Jr., and Anthony Brewton and Dyonna Bonner; also a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Matthew Willie Ford, 52, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2004 at Advocate Trinity Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He was born on October 9, 1951 to Albert Willie Ford and Armead Savage in Chicago, Illinois.
He attended Chicago Public Schools and graduated from Westinghouse High School. He attended Malcolm X College. He was a communications specialist for SBC Ameritech (formerly known as Illinois Bell) for 34 years. He was a member of IBEW, local #21.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: two daughters, LouKisha Rankins of Maywood, Aleis Michele Rankins of Maywood; his mother, Mrs. Armead Ford of Waukegan; one sister, Rev. Debra McGee of North Chicago; two grandchildren, Jovon Rankins of Maywood, and Myania Rankins of Maywood; four nephews, William Ford of Zion, Phillip Ford of Waukegan, Danon McGee of North Chicago; and Marcus McGee of North Chicago; special friend, Mary Slaughter of Chicago; and a host of relatives and friends.

Shirley A. Graham (nee Smith), 76, of Lakeland, FL, formerly of Wadsworth, IL, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at Good Sheppard Hospice, Lakeland. She was born August 17, 1927 in Chicago, IL.
She had many careers over the years, including Inventory Control Manager at Goldblatts in the Waukegan Plaza and Abbott Labs, before retiring from the Community Trust Credit Union in Gurnee.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her son, Corky (Julie) of Burlington, KY; her daughter, Doreen of Zion, IL; four grandchildren, David (Jeri) Graham of Antioch, Matthew Graham of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Erica Gajewski of Tampa, FL, Lenny (Kelsey) Gajewski of Offutt, AFB, NE; four great grandchildren, D.J., twins, Cameron and Cassandra of Antioch and Landon Gajewski of NE and her brother, Earl Smith of Countryside, IL.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Walter Sr.; her sister, Dorothy and her parents, Earl and Ethel (Speese) Smith.
