Lillian M. Dixon
Lillian M. Dixon, 93, of Waukegan passed away on Monday April 1, 2002 at Pinnacle Health Care Center in Waukegan. She was born February 4, 1909 in Mohawk, MI and had been an area resident since 1938. She was a former member of the Farm Bureau.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane (Earl) Craymond of Waukegan; 3 grandchildren, Eileen (Glenn) Rickel, Jeff Craymond and Candis (Joel) Ramage; 8 great grandchildren, Christopher Rickel, Jennifer Rickel, James Rickel and Katherine "Katie" Rickel, Jacqueline Craymond and Joseph Craymond, Garrett Ramage and Maxwell Ramage.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Dixon in 1982.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2002 at PETERSON-PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan with Rev. Dr. Gehl Devore officiating. Interment will be at Northshore Garden of Memories. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
William A. "Bill" Ingalls
William A. "Bill" Ingalls, 89, of Cambridge City, IN, died on Sunday, March 31, 2002, at his residence after an extended illness. Bill was born in New Castle, IN on May 25, 1912, a son of the late William A. and Clara Mae Baker Ingalls. He married
Martha Mullen in Richmond on August 1, 1931. Martha and Bill were married
48 years at the time of her death on June 21, 1979.
Bill is survived by 7 sons Billy Jo of Persing, Gary (Sharon) of Zion, IL, Michael (Deborah) of Wildwood, IL, Dwight of Persing, Marvin (Deborah) of Muncie, Jerry R. (Terri) of Lewisville, David C. of Moad, Utah; 4 daughters Betty (George) Feaselmay of Richmond, Joan H. (Ralph L.) McCord, Nancy (Frank) Sherwood, Kathy (Herby) Johnson, all of Cambridge City; 32 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Victor Ingalls of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews; 2 favorite cousins Norman and Sharon Ingalls. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Ralph; a grandchild, Billy Johnson; a great-grandchild Kayle Sherwood; a brother, Gerald; 4 daughters Peggy, Dorothy, Helen and Martha.

Josephine M. Jiracek (nee Pech), age 92, a resident of Hillcrest Retirement Village in Round Lake Beach, IL for the past 3 years, formerly of Westchester, IL died Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at home. She was born in Chicago, IL on August 6, 1909 and was raised on a ranch in Montana, where she had a coyote for a pet. She later married
Anton Jiracek, and was formerly employed as a quality control inspector with Sunbeam Corp. in Cicero, IL and was a member of Sunbeam's 25 Year Club. She was active with the Antioch Senior Citizens activities and attended St. Bede Catholic Church in Ingleside, IL.
Survivors include her son Frank (Patricia) Jiracek of Lake Villa, IL; her grandchildren Laura (Charles) McKay of Bartlett, IL, Joan (Gregory) Fox of St. Charles, IL, Robert (Deborah) Jiracek of Des Moines, IA, Jennifer Jiracek of Des Moines, IA, Walter Luth of Waukegan, IL, Pamela Luth of Lake Villa, IL, Laura Lynn Fraider of Frankfort, IL and Lonna Westergren of Lotus Woods, IL; her great grandchildren Jacob Fox, Devlin and Ryan McKay, Timothy and James Jiracek, Brianna and Tammi Fraider, Kaleigh Westergren, Arianna Rath and Colton and Rachelynn Luth; her brother James Pech of Mexico; her sister Helen Vicarise of Oak Park, IL and by her dear friends, Franz and Marie Baker of Round Lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anton Jiracek on February 24, 1974 and by a sister Rose Kasik.

Walter H. Kaste
Walter H. Kaste, 71, of Libertyville, IL, passed away Monday April 1, 2002 at the Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview. He was born June 3, 1930 in Chicago and had been a Libertyville resident for the past 26 years. Before his retirement, he was employed as a lithographer for the E & D Webb Printing Co. in Cicero, IL. He was also a member of the Graphic Arts Union Local #458-3M in Chicago and Graphic Communications International Union.
Surviving are his wife Shirley of Libertyville; 2 daughters, Linda (John) White of Moline, IL and Karen Cassel of Wauconda; 6 grandchildren, Starlee (Luis) Balbeuna of Round Lake, Belle Cassel of Aiea, Hawaii, Steven Cassel of Key West, FL, Erick and Gregory White, both of Moline and Kevin Cassel of McHenry; 1 great granddaughter, Natalie Balbeuna.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 4 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. Libertyville. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens cemetery in Arlington Heights. 1953-2002
Carolyn Ann Handy Lester, departed this earthly life on Thursday, March 28, 2002 at Provena St. Therese Medical Center.
Carolyn was born on June 6, 1953 in Waukegan and lived in this area all of her life. She graduated from Lincoln-McAlister School (now Carman-Buckner) and Waukegan Township High School. She married
Reginald D. Lester and to this union was born Crystal and Tiffany. Carol was a caring, free hearted, outspoken spirited individual who was adored by all who knew her. She was burdened with physical illnesses early in life, but she refused to let these slow her pace. She was mobilized by an electric wheelchair which allowed her to travel many blocks to see her ailing mother. Carolyn was born into a large, loving family which will miss her.
She leaves to mourn her passing her loving daughters, Crystal Handy-Allen (David), Tiffany Lester, Donna Handy, and Ericka Handy; four grandchildren, Tyra and Tyrese Lester, and Kayla and Dalajah Allen; her mother, Bertha Handy; six brothers, Alonzo, Herbert, George and James all of North Chicago, Sylvester (Anna) of Waukegan and Alphonso (Shirley) of Houston, Texas; four sisters, Eula (Robert) Bates, Irma Jean Handy, Sharon and Donna Handy, all of Waukegan; three sisters-in-law, Lutisha, Brenda and Patricia Handy; a close friend, Ruth Reid; and a host of other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ben Handy; her brothers, Eugene and Winfred Charles Handy; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Jean Handy and Rosemary Handy; and a niece, Tasha Handy.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, April 4, 2002 at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 800 S. Genesee St., Waukegan, IL with Pastor Walstone Francis officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood cemetery, Waukegan, IL.

Marie Lolmaugh (nee Schlader)
Marie Lolmaugh (nee Schlader) of Rolling Hills Manor, Zion died Thursday, March 28, 2002 at the age of 94.
Marie was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin on March 4, 1908 and after her marriage to Wayman Lolmaugh, lived in the Waukegan area for most of her life. After her children were raised, she learned to play the organ, opened "Marie's Doll Hospital" where she repaired and redressed antique dolls and enjoyed raising her many Chihuahuas and often a cat or two. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and their children, and she brought great joy into their lives as well.
She will be forever cherished in the hearts of her sons, Gerald (Bonnie) Lolmaugh, Jack Lolmaugh, her grandchildren, Sandra (Dennis) Demith, Guy (Patti) Lolmaugh, Susan (Tim) Spivey, Nancy (John) Drysdale and Linda (Tony) Krause, her great-grandchildren, Beth (Jon) Van Dyke, Jenny (Dave) Mahoney, Chrissie Lolmaugh, Brian Lolmaugh, Becky Lolmaugh, Becky (Jason) Hopkins, Heidi Houston, Kim Shaver and Johnny Spivey and her great-great grandchildren, Alison Hopkins, Evan Hopkins and Madeline Houston. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Wayman, her daughter's in law, Peg Lolmaugh, Audrey Lolmaugh and Sharon Lolmaugh, her parents Servius and Madelina Schlader and many brothers and sisters.

Elaine Marie Tomany, 76, of Lindenhurst, died April 2, 2002.
She was born in Chicago on July 4, 1925, and was a 25 year resident of Lindenhurst. Wife of John K. Tomany, mother of John (Barbara) Tomany and Pamela (Martin) Kopach. Grandmother of Sandra Tomany and John Tomany and Martin Kopach, Jr., and Steven Kopach. Sister of Marie (the late Lee) Dillon.

Theodore S. Soder
Theodore S. Soder, 48, of Gurnee, died at his home on April 2, 2002 following a year long battle with pancreatic cancer.
H was a lifelong resident of Lake County, grew up in Libertyville, and attended both Libertyville and Warren Township High Schools. He graduated from Warren High School in 1971.
Ted served in the United States Navy from 1972 until 1976, then attended the College of Lake County and Illinois State University. On May 27, 1978, he married
Deborah Gill, his wife of 23 years. He was employed by Baxter Laboratories for ten years as a Production Superintendent, and then worked as a Director of Operations at LSL Industries, Inc. in Chicago until last year, when he became ill. Ted was a member of St. Patrick Church in Wadsworth, where he taught third grade religious education classes. He also coached Little League, T-Ball, and was a Cub Scout leader. One of Ted's favorite things was hosting family gatherings. He also loved all sports and outdoor activities, especially camping.
Ted is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; his beloved sons, Theodore, 22, Douglas, 10 and foster son, Cody Wilde, 22. His parents, Ted and Mary Soder of Grayslake; and his paternal grandmother, Mathilda Soder also of Grayslake, will miss him greatly.
Other survivors include his three brothers, Scott of Gurnee, Donald of Round Lake and David (Christi) of Antioch; along with his six sisters, Cherie (Mark) Weston of Boston, MA, Lynn (Rich) Legner of Downs, IL, Pamela (Robert) Saam of Wauwatosa, WI, Veronica (Michael) Bostock of Acworth, GA, Denise Hughes of Round Lake Park and Karen (Larry) Hildebrandt of Granger, IN. Ted's nine nephews; 17 nieces; two great nieces; and a great nephew all have wonderful memories of their uncle. All will miss Ted's laughter, wonderful smile and kind heart. He was preceded in death by his biological mother, Diana Soder in 1963.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2002 from 5 PM to 8 PM at MARSH FUNERAL HOME at 305 cemetery Rd. in Gurnee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 15000 W. Wadsworth Rd., Wadsworth at 10 AM Saturday, April 6, with interment following at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville.

Houston Eddie Dean Solomon
Houston Eddie Dean Solomon, 27 days old, was called home to become one of God's Angels on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2002. Baby Houston was born March 4, 2002 in Evanston, IL. He lived a very short time, but a blessed 27 days with his family.
Baby Houston departed his life, but left memories to be cherish forever by his parents, Tammy Charleston and Timothy Solomon; one precious sister, A'sante Solomon and a host of loving family members.

Regina Barchenger, age 68, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2003 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. Regina was born May 8, 1934 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Ina C. (nee: Ballard) and Ernest A. Johnston.
She is survived by her son Gerald (Jeanna) Barchenger of Aurora, CO. 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Forrest "John" Barchenger in 2002, her sister Lorraine Hatchet and her daughter Dixie Barber.

Helen S. Brink, 85, of Waukegan, IL passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at the Pavilion of Waukegan. She was born March 23, 1918 in Crosby, MN. Helen was retired from the Lake County Courthouse, Voters Registration Division after 12 years of service.
She is survived by her son Lawrence Brink of Gurnee and twins, Barbara (Robert) May of Arkdale, WI and Bruce (Mary) Brink of Arizona, nine grandchildren, Laurie (Greg) Crowley, Vicki (Carl) Johann, Robert (Nelida) Brink, Natalie (Jeff) Mihovilovich, Kathy (John) Cleven, Michelle (Bo) Roberts, Greg (Kellie) May, Tracy (Vince) Lomeo and John (Amber) Brink and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Brink in 1971 and by four sisters.

Janice Jo Brinkmann
Janice Jo Brinkmann, 52 years old of Bristol, WI passed away Sunday, March 30, 2003 at St. Catherine Hospital, Pleasant Prairie, WI. She was born February 26, 1951 in Chicago the daughter of Lawrence Brinkmann and Frances (Terranella) Brinkmann.
Janice lived in Fox Lake, IL before moving to Bristol in 1991. She was the owner and operator of MYBOU'S Pet Resort in Bristol and was actively involved in Dog Agility in AKC, and NADAC. As a member of the Midwest Boxer Club she attained many titles with her Boxers in agility. In addition to her work with her dogs she was Senior Systems Analyst in the information systems department of Victory Memorial Hospital, Waukegan, IL and was the owner of Therapeutic Bodywork, where she was a certified massage therapist, working out of Coconuts Tanning in Antioch.
Survivors are her mother Frances Mecchella of New Lisbon, WI, 2 brothers, Bruce Brinkmann of Memphis, TN and John (Lena) Mecchella of Twin Lakes, WI, 3 sisters, Linda (Tim) Patnode of New Lisbon, WI, Vicki (Greg) Arason of Lake Zurich, IL and Ann Marie (Jeff) Schackmuth of Twin Lakes, WI, several nieces and nephew and 3 great nieces. She was preceded in death by her father Lawrence Brinkmann and her step father John Mecchella.

Patricia A. Christensen
Patricia A. Christensen, 68 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Monday March 31, 2003 at Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL. She was born May 25, 1934 in Chicago the daughter of the late Martin and Ann (McVady) Rabbitt moving to Antioch in 1959. She attended St. Peter Church in Antioch, worked in Real Estate and was a collector for the Illinois State Scholarship Commission. On September 8, 1956 she married
Jack Christensen in Chicago and he preceded her in death on January 29, 2002.
Survivors are 5 sons, John, Thomas, Michael and Robert (Liz) all of Antioch and James (Deborah) of Lake Villa, IL, 5 grandchildren Jenelle, Julia, Michael Jr., Karlie and Robert L. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a brother, James Rabbitt.

Peggy (Burback) Crutcher
Peggy, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at age 57, on March 28, 2003, in Sarasota, FL where she resided for the last nine years. Peggy was formerly a resident of Waukegan and Gurnee.
She is survived by her mother, Marjorie Zito, her step father, Michael Zito, two sisters, Karen and Debbie, her husband of twenty two years, Richard, four children and two step daughters: Ronald (Ken) Burback, Donna (Tony) Deieso, Michael (Linda) Burback, Robert (Shannon) Burback, Lisa (Tim) Stuart and Karen Crutcher. Peggy has ten beautiful grandchildren whom loved her very much as she loved them.
Lucille Dutton (nee Michalski)
Lucille Dutton (nee Michalski), 74, of Wadsworth, Illinois passed away in the comfort of her home with her family at her side on Tuesday, April 1, 2003.
She was born July 19, 1928 in Waukegan and was a graduate of Waukegan Township High School, Class of 1947.
She was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church and a former member of Holy Rosary Church and the Rosary Sodality.
Lucille is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jack; a daughter, LuAnn (Don) Schmidt of Winthrop Harbor; a son, John Dutton of Pleasant Prairie, WI; two granddaughters, Pamela (Tony) Terry of Kenosha and Tiffany Dutton of Pleasant Prairie; and a great grandchild; five sisters, Cecilia Zalec of Cincinnati, OH, Lottie Petersen of Kenosha, Alice (Harold) Hart of Lancaster, OH, Rita Guerin of Waukegan and Joanne (Frank) Heraver of Dubuque, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sophie Michalski; three sisters, Anne Kaczmaryn, Phyllis Lindstrom and Florence Falotico; and a brother, Frank Michalski.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, April 4, 2003 at Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park, IL. Burial will be in Ascension cemetery.

Virginia George (Gourekian)
Virginia George, 83, of Waukegan, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at her home after a long battle with cancer. She never complained or let people know how ill she was and kept her life going as normally as possible. She will be sadly missed by her family and wonderful friends who continued to keep in touch with her and were so generous to give their time to visit and bring her flowers and gifts.
Virginia was born in Waukegan on August 9, 1919, the youngest of six children born to Bedros (aka Peter George) and Highouhe Gourekian. She graduated from Waukegan Township High School and Lake County College of Commerce Business School.
She worked for the government in various secretarial positions, executive secretary to the second in command at the Great Lakes Naval Hospital, executive secretary at Hahn Air Force Base in Germany and while there was able to travel extensively throughout many countries in Europe. Upon her return home, she finished her career at the Great Lakes Naval Station and retired in June 1973.
She loved to travel and visited countries throughout Asia and also Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, and Armenia where she met many of her relatives for the first time. She also traveled extensively throughout the United States.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Harry and Paul Gourekian, sisters Alice Thielmann, Lucille Zens and Sylvia Krikorian, and nieces, Betty (Krikorian) Rickher and Barbara Zens.
She is survived by her nieces, Marigene (Don) Kennedy, Janice Womatoplous, Judith Lynn (Harold) Grissom and nephews Richard (Meighan) Fonda and Larry (Dawn) Zens and also many great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
Virginia was a devoted member of St. George Armenian Church and served on both the board of trustees as secretary and the board of the women's guild as president and also taught Armenian lessons.
One of her most favorite things to do at family gatherings was to tell stories and give advice to all her great nieces and nephews.
She was very devoted to her family as we were to her. She will be greatly missed by all of us. We would also like to thank Vitas Hospice, RN Dawn Larriuz and Virginia's caregiver Susan Tan.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2003 at the PETERSON & PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan with Rev. Fr. Haik Donikian officiating. Interment will be at Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to time of service.
