Ardith E. Kluzak
Ardith E. Kluzak, 79, of Zion died on Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at Victory Memorial Hospital, Waukegan.
Ardith was born March 5, 1924 in Grygla, Minnesota and moved to Waukegan in 1961. She retired 17 years ago from Baxter.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Walter; children Arlene (Michael) Bower of Beach Park and Rodney Kluzak of Waukegan; one sister Mildred Brooks of Tucson, Arizona; and one brother Douglas (Adeline) Teigland of East Grand Forks, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by one sister Phyllis Tollefson and by her parents Mikkal and Mary Teigland.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the Congdon Funeral Home. (847) 746-1234.
Ray Alice "Pip" Lezine
On March 31, 2003, Ray Alice "Pip" Lezine departed this life peacefully from her home surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Kaplan, Louisiana on December 18, 1929, she was raised in Lake Charles, LA. She married
Mendon John Lezine on April 24, 1946 and moved to Illinois in 1963. Ray will be remembered by those who love her for her incredible will to live life to its fullest.
Left to cherish her memory are: Sisters, Helen Marie Walker of Tuscan, AZ, Earline Patterson (James), North Chicago, IL, Mary Ellen Demus (Gerald), Houston, TX and Marie Kindred (Charles), Houston, TX; Sister in law Inez Donato, Lake Charles, LA; Children: Mendon John Lezine Jr. (Dorothy), Mary Elise Lezine-Wilson, Deborah Lezine (Emanuel), Cynthia Barker Wells (John), Phyllis Foster Cunningham (Michael) and Johnnie Lezine (Annquenette), 31 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a host of others who call her Mommie, Maw Maw, Mi Mi, or simply "that pretty little lady". Ray was preceded in death by her beloved parents Honore Hebert "Popee" and ORetha "Dear Ruth" Boudreaux Hebert, loving husband Mendon John Lezine, much loved son Bernard Lezine, and cherished brother Joseph "Jody" Hebert.
Services will be held on Friday, April 4th at New Beginnings Baptist Church, 403 Oak Street, Waukegan, IL. Wake begins at 10:00. Fred R. Ligman
Fred R. Ligman, 48, of Waukegan, died on March 26, 2003 at his home.
Fred was born in Chicago on September 15, 1954 to the late Chester F. Ligman and Laura (nee Kooy) Ligman. He was a graduate of Lake Zurich High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois. Fred was an employee of Commonwealth Edison at the time of his passing. He was a quiet individual who loved his work and enjoyed nature and capturing it on film in his free time.
Survivors include one brother, Craig A. Ligman of Cape Canaveral, Florida, a brother-in-law, C.R. Walton of West Chester, Pennsylvania, and two nephews, C. Robert Walton of Middletown, Delaware, and US Army Captain David C. Walton of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Janet Elaine Walton.

Eileen Ori, of Hollywood, Florida passed away Friday, March 28, 2003.
She was born August 31, 1935 in Chicago, IL.
Survived by her husband, Romano Ori; five children, Mona (Cy) Werda, Helen Ori, Carol Ori, Frank (Sheri) Ori and Theresa (Mike) Clendening; nine grandchildren, Cyranda, Tatum, Chadd, Melisa, Alicia, Ryan, Kelly, Bianca and Olivia.

Margaret Sage
Margaret Sage, 59, of Chicago, passed away Friday, March 28, 2003 at the Hospice of the North Shore in Skokie. She was born September 21, 1943 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and was a former 28 year resident of Libertyville. She was a graduate of Malvern Collegiate Institute in Toronto and the University of Illinois, Chicago. Margaret was a CPA and the retired Chief Financial Officer and Controller for Sungard Investment Systems in Hinsdale.
Surviving are her husband Norman Sage of Chicago; her sister Kathryne (Ken) Pyette of Toronto, Canada; her brother Gary (Betty) Wing of Chattanooga, TN. She was the loving aunt of Victoria Wing, Geoff (Susan) Wing, John and Daniel Pyette and great aunt of Megan and Christopher Wing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Violet Wing.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 13 at the Katherine Legge Memorial Lodge, 5901 S. County Line Road in Hinsdale. Elizabeth Swambar
Elizabeth Swambar, 86, of Lindenhurst, IL, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at Condell Medical Center. She was born October 21, 1916 in North Chicago and was a member of Prince of Peace Church in Lake Villa. She was a former member of the Swedish Glee Club, and a member of the Catholic Sokol Society. She loved to play cards, travel and sewing. She was a former employee of American Steel and Wire.
Survivors include one son, Jim (Karen) Swambar; two grandchildren, Chris (Becky) Swambar and Debbie Swambar; one brother, Lawrence Drinka and many friends from Illinois and Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Swambar.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m Friday, April 4, 2003 at Prince of Peace Church, corner of Rt. 83 and 132 in Lake Villa, IL. Burial will be at Ascension cemetery. Josephine Thompson
Josephine Thompson, age 73 of Waukegan, IL went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 28, 2003 at Provena St. Therese Hospital after a lengthy illness.
She was a member of First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, North Chicago, IL for many years and had confessed to Christ at an early age.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Elizabeth "Liz" and Anna of Waukegan, IL; four sons, Carl (Felecia) of Waukegan, IL, Cleo and Tom of North Chicago, IL, and Bobby of Zion, IL. She also leaves five brothers, Leather "Moto" (Elizabeth) Thompson of Killen, Alabama, Emmite Thompson of Meridian, MS, Eugene (Anita) Thompson of Stone Mountain, GA, Willie (Mae) Thompson of North Chicagok IL and Robert (Rita) Thompson of Wisconsin, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother Leather and Ozzie Thompson, three brothers, Johnny, Cleo and Tommie Thompson, two sisters Hattie Mallory, and Alamtin Sims; three sisters-in-law Cleo, Nealie and Mary Thompson, and one son Arthur "Terry" Thompson.
She leaves her dear friend, Randolph Daniels, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services for Josephine Thompson will be held at First Corinthian M.B. Church, 1529 Elizabeth Ave., North Chicago, IL on Friday April 4, 2003. Linda M. Tisch
Linda M. Tisch, (nee Borgstrom) 53, of Lake Forest, IL, passed away suddenly Monday, March 31, 2003 at her home. She was born April 17, 1949 in Chicago and had lived in Lake Forest for the past 18 years. She was a member of the 1967 graduating class of Libertyville High School, where she was honored as the Homecoming Queen. She was also a 1971 graduate of Western Illinois University with a degree in psychology. Following college, Linda was employed at Chef Karl's Restaurant in Libertyville for many years, where she held many positions. She loved animals, but most of all helping people and in the 1990's enrolled in the College of Lake County Nursing Program. She was a former registered nurse at Lake Forest Hospital, was currently employed at the Winchester House and was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville.
Surviving are her husband of 19 years, Louis Tisch; her father Robert (Margaret) Borgstrom; her sister Lori (Scot) Goodrich of Lindenhurst and brothers, Jim (Shelley) Borgstrom of Medford, WI, Steve (Mary) Borgstrom of Libertyville and Tom (Marian) Borgstrom of Antioch and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Jacqueline Borgstrom in 1990.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday April 4 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery. Irmgard M. Ailts, 89, of Denver, Colorado, formerly of Waukegan, IL passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2004 in Denver, CO.
Beloved mother, survived by children, Gerritt (Christine) Ailts of Wenatchee, WA, Andrea (Michael) Timberlake of Salt Lake City, UT and Emilie Ailts (Thomas) Staible of Denver, CO; five grandchildren; and a great grandchild.

Antonia R. Almanzo
Antonia R. Almanzo, 80, of Waukegan passed away on March 31, 2004 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 31, 1923 in Clarksville, TX and had lived in Waukegan for the past 60 years. She retired from Abbott in 1985 after 39 years of service. Antonia was an avid Chicago White Sox fan and loved working in the garden. She was a member of Holy Family Parish.
She is survived by her sisters, Juanita (Rafael) Garcia, Mary (Bernabe) Lopez both of Whicita Falls, TX and Lupe Almanzo of Waukegan; brothers, Ausencio (Delores) and Jess (Karen) Almanzo both of Waukegan; nieces, Gloria (Robert) Hlousek of Waukegan, Kim (Bill) Borzick of Lindenhurst, Cynthia (Cloys) Patterson of Whicita Falls, TX, Jonya Almanzo of Waukegan, Jouita Almanzo of St. Peters, MO; nephews, David (Barbara) Almanzo of New Hope, MN, Thomas (Katharine) Almanzo of Mundelein Ramon (Jessica) Garcia of Zion, Roman Garcia of Whicita Falls, TX, Joseph Almanzo of Waukegan and Jesse Ray Almanzo of Waukegan; she is also survived by four great nieces and seven great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reynaldo and Modesta Almanzo.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at Holy Family Church 450 Keller Ave. Waukegan with Fr. Gary Graff officiating.

George Henry Dix
George Henry Dix, 77, was born in Chicago, IL, September 5, 1926. He passed away on March 5, 2004 in Sherman, TX.
He is survived by 1 sister, June Wangrow; 5 children, Pam (Joe) Labellarte, Brenda (Aaron) Cathcart, Renee (Chuck) Hull, Sue (Bill) Wiese, and Ken Simonson; 9 grandchildren, Sean and Jessica Davies, Jennifer and Rhiannon Hull, Elizabeth, David, and Michelle Labellarte, Nathan and Travis Wiese; 2 nieces, Donna (Pat) Prengle and Kathy Cody; 2 great-nephews, Greg Prengle and Jason Cody; 1 great-niece, Tracy Prengle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife June (Simonson) Dix.
A memorial service will be held for Mr. Dix at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 10 at Highland Memorial Park, Hunt Club Road and Rt 120, Libertyville, IL. The family will receive friends at the Renee Hull residence following the service.
Harry Augustus Douglas
Harry Augustus Douglas, 61, of Waukegan, IL departed from this life on Monday, March 29, 2004 at Provena St. Therese Medical Center. He was born on September 27, 1942 in Kingston, Jamaica and immigrated to the United States in 1992 where he established citizenship. He has been a North Chicago/Waukegan resident for the past 12 years.
He was a member of Jesus Name Apostolic Church in Waukegan where he attended faithfully until departing this life. He worked as a machinist in Jamaica for over 35 years, and has been employed by Office Max in Vernon Hills, IL and Gurnee, IL until becoming ill. Harry was an avid and most wonderful cook.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his very loving and caring fiancee, Elaine West-Shead; five daughters, Gloria Clark of Queens, NY, Novelett Douglas of London, England, Donette Douglas of Jamaica, Mary Richard of Canada and Dehema Douglas of Jamaica; two sons, Laurel of Jamaica and Marvin Douglas of London, England; and 13 grandchildren. Also leaving six special children, Jeremiah, Vontrae, Letia, Lashon, Edward and Delilah all of Libertyville, IL; and many step children. He will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews and a host of special family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jaslyn Douglas and Marvis Dooley; and special son, Joshue Smith.
Funeral Services will be on Monday, April 5, 2004 at Jesus Name Apostolic Church, 208 Lake Street, Waukegan, IL at 11 AM with visitation from 10:30 AM until time of service. There will also be visitation on Sunday, April 4, 2004 from 4 to 7 PM at the BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME, 313 10th Street, North Chicago, IL. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL. Catherine "Pat" Hall
Catherine "Pat" Hall, age 76, of Mundelein, IL, passed away suddenly Thursday, April 1, 2004 at her home. She was born March 1, 1928 in Chicago and was a former resident of Lake Zurich. Pat had lived in Mundelein for the past 37 years and was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville.
Surviving are her son, Robert L. (Dawn) Hall; and grandchildren, Robert T. and Alison Ann Hall, all of Mundelein; her brother, Tom McCarthy of Fox River Grove; and sisters, Peggy (Norm) Dick of New Jersey, Betty Murphy of Chicago, and Marie (Don) Hack of Phoenix, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Hall on March 21, 1991.
Prayers will begin at 10:30 AM Monday, April 5 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Harvie Harden, a long time resident of North Chicago, IL., passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at home. He was born March 16, 1932 in Killen, Alabama.
Surviving him are three sons; three sisters; four brothers; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a very special friend, Marian Rand.

Gordon J. Kickels
Age 97, of La Grange Park, IL, died peacefully on April 2, 2004.
Gordon was, for 56 years, an active member of the National Office Products Association and former President (1987) of the Great Lakes Travelers Club.
He was the beloved husband of the late Florence (nee McGraw); loving father of John (Margaret), Mary Kathryn and Delores (Dr. John) Curns; devoted son of the late Catherina and Alexander Kickels. He was also the grandfather of eight, great-grandfather of 16, and the great-great-grandfather of two.

Ludwig "Klutch" Joseph Klauzer
Ludwig "Klutch" Joseph Klauzer, 81, lifetime resident of Waukegan, IL, passed away Monday, March 30, 2004 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan, IL. He was born July 27, 1922.
He was a 64-year member of the Slovene National Benefit Society. He played semi-pro basketball, referee and umpire in city leagues, assistant director of recreation, and head of the athletic department in Barwell Settlement. Served his country as a United States Army veteran. He was a steward and Trustee in the Lake County Labor Union Council.
Klutch is survived by his wife, Jane Edith Klauzer (nee Maxwell); daughter, Donna (Douglas) Rasmussen of McKinney, TX; two grandchildren, Lauri (Matt) Luker of Aliso Viejo, CA, and Nicole (Scott) Landry of Petaluma, CA; great grandson, Kevin Joseph Luker; and half sister, Angela Grigutis of Waukegan.
