Charles C. Galinis
Charles C. Galinis, age 96, died on March 12th in Pomfret Center, CT. He was formerly of Waukegan. He was born October 1, 1909 in Waukegan.
Charles retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years of service. He also retired from Great Lakes Naval Training Facility after 22 years there.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis, children Barbara (Leonard) Petrovic of Gurnee; Charles (Marsha) Galinis of Waukegan; Kathleen (Bill) Laurino of Des Plaines; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a sister Ann Paluska of Tuscon, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Victoria and grandson Daniel Laurino; one sister Margaret Strang; two brothers Walter and Frank.
A Memorial Mass will be held on April 1st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dismas Church, 2600 Sunset Ave., Waukegan, IL 60087.
Carl R. Gustafson
Carl R. Gustafson, 73, of Waukegan, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Victory Memorial Hospital. He was born May 10, 1932 in Waukegan and remained a lifelong resident.
Carl served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Waukegan Lions Club, Waukegan Jaycees and the Swedish Glee Club. Prior to his retirement, he had worked for Sears for many years. He loved the Northwoods and spending time at his house up north, as well as being an avid Cubs and Bears fan.
Carl is survived by his wife, Louise (nee Apostle); his son, James P. Gustafson of Winthrop Harbor; and daughter, Cheryl (Chip) Geissberger of Winthrop Harbor; grandchildren, Casey, Nicole and Spencer; two sisters, Marian Tewes of Waukegan and Lillian (Fred) Buck of Lake Bluff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Gertrude (nee Nilsson) Gustafson.
Friends may call on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at PETERSON & PATCH FUNERAL HOME, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan. Private Interment for the family, with Military Honors, will be at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago, with Rev. Charles Caskey officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carl's name, may be made to the Waukegan Fire Department Paramedic Unit or to the American Heart Association.
Ruth E. Kruger
Ruth E. Kruger, 85, of Waukegan, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2006 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She was born June 12, 1920 in Skokie, IL and had been a Waukegan resident for many years.
She was a member of Trinity United Lutheran Church, a volunteer at Victory Memorial Hospital for over 30 years, a member of the church Rebecca Circle and member of Glen Flora Country Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Kruger of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Kruger in 1970.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Trinity United Lutheran Church, 658 Grand Ave., Waukegan. Interment will be at Memorial Park cemetery in Skokie. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 AM to time of services. Donations in her memory may be made to Trinity United Lutheran Church.
Luigia Pilibosian
Luigia Pilibosian, 94, of Waukegan, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2006 at Terrace Nursing Home of Waukegan. She was born March 4, 1912 in Calusa, Italy and had been an area resident for 43 years. She was a member of St. Anastasia Parish.
She is survived by her children, Iucci (Piero) Ottinetti of Waukegan, John (Maria) Pilibosian of Colorado, Lalla (Mike) Goben of Waukegan, Bruna (Robert) Loper of Waukegan; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Michele Giacometto of Caluso, Italy; her sister-in-law, Carlotta Pilibosian of Waukegan and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sarkis Pilibosian in 1996 and by Bianca (Elio) Magaton.
The family would like to thank the staff at Terrace Nursing Home and STAR Hospice for the kind and compassionate care that Luigia received.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, April 3, 2006 at St. Anastasia Church, 624 Douglas Ave., Waukegan. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. William A. Schaefer
William A. Schaefer, 74 of Wadsworth, passed away March 29, 2006 at home.
William was born February 18, 1932 in Waukegan, IL. He attended the First United Methodist Church in Waukegan, Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader at Greenwood School in Waukegan. He was an avid snowmobiler, fisherman and gardener. William was past president of the Illinois Newspaper Production Conference, had 50 years service to The Waukegan News Sun, and was a U.S. Navy veteran, Sea Bee Branch.
Survived by his wife, Barbara of 53 years; three sons, William (Holly), Warren "Skip" (Lynne) and Donald (Donna); eight grandchildren, Amber, Meghan, William, Donald "D.J.", Christina, Dillon, Samantha, Zachery; great grandchild, Tyler; one brother, Arthur (Mary) Schaefer; two sisters, Jean (Howard) Shea and Ruth (James) Karlos; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, March 31, 2006 from 5-8 PM at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 cemetery Rd. Funeral services Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Marsh Funeral Home, 305 cemetery Rd., interment at Warren cemetery, Gurnee, IL.

Alma V. Watson

Alma V. Watson, 91, passed away on March 14, 2006 at the Brittany House Assisted Living facility in Marietta, GA, after a brief illness. Alma, born October 20, 1914 in Waukegan, IL, was a long time resident of San Diego, CA, being employed as a bookkeeper, before her retirement in 1995.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth (Lee) Cass, of Vallejo, CA; her nephews, Robert (Barbara) Stanley and James Stanley of Marietta, GA, Glenn (Susan) Stanley of Zion, IL, Lester (Judy) Stanley of Waukegan, IL, Rodney Swanson and Jerry Cass of Vallejo, CA; her nieces, Betty (Jerry) Traxlor of Vallejo, CA, Laura (James) Deaver of Chico, CA, and Betty (Jack) Hagopian of Waukegan, IL; many grand-nieces and nephews, and loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Watson; her parents, August and Greta Swanson; her sister, Jennie (Lester) Stanley, Esther (Henry) Belzer, and her brothers, Roy Swanson, Arthur Swanson, and Carl Swanson, and her niece, Shirley (Jerry) Reeves.
Arrangements were handled by Medford-Peden Funeral Home, 1408 Canton Highway, N.E., Marietta, GA 30067.

Judy Buksas
Geraldine Aldridge, 70, of North Chicago, Illinois died suddenly March 14, 2003 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born October 22, 1932 in Waukegan, IL. She served as the church organist and was a member of Mother of God Church and now a member of Queen of Peace Church. She will be remembered by many by her many beautiful cards she sent to all those she loved.
Gerry is survived by her husband, William C. Aldridge; a son, William Aldridge; aunts, Millie Novak, Helen Canon and Frances (Andrew) Gerjol.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Novak; her mother, Anne Novak (nee Buksas); a brother in infancy; and an aunt, Judy Buksas.
Services for Geraldine Aldridge and her aunt, Judy Buksas will be held at Ascension cemetery Chapel on Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at 10 AM. SALATA FUNERAL HOME is serving the family.
Beatrice H. Cribb
Beatrice H. Cribb, 96, of Lake Villa, IL passed away Saturday, March 29, 2003. She was born January 23, 1907 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Bonde and Hilma (Swanson) Olson. After her marriage to Benjamin Jay Cribb on June 19, 1937, they made their home in Lake Villa. Beatrice was an active member of the Lake Villa United Methodist Church where she organized and directed the children's choir. She was a personal banker at the former Lake Villa Trust and Savings Bank for 19 years. Beatrice served as a Lake County Election Judge for 50 years. At the age of 94, she was honored to be named Lake Villa's Citizen of the Century during the 2001 Centennial Celebration for all her contributions to her community.
Her son, B. Jay (Susan) Cribb, Jr. of Lake Villa and her daughter, Nancy Tesch of Houston, Texas survive. In addition, she is survived by five grandchildren, Beth Cribb of Bayonet Point, Florida, Kevin Cribb of Springfield, Illinois, Valerie (Rob) Mueller of Houston, Texas, Kimberly (Eric) Nessler of Missouri City, Texas and Amy Prochnow of Chicago, Illinois. She is also survived by four great grandchildren, Abby, Emma and Ben Mueller and Kai Nessler. Beatrice was preceded in death by her brother, Harry B. Olson; her husband, Benjamin on January 21, 1993; and son-in-law, Rober Tesch.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at the United Methodist Church, 110 McKinley Ave, Lake Villa, IL with the Rev. Patricia Allen-Stewart officiating. Interment will be in Angola cemetery, Lake Villa. Friends may call at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rt. 83), Antioch, IL from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday and at the church from 9:30 AM Wednesday until the time of services. Margaret I. Fields
Margaret I. Fields, 80, of Beach Park, IL. passed away at home on March 29, 2003 after a lengthy illness. Margaret was born July 2, 1922 in Metropolis, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell E. Fields, sister and brother in law Marie and Robert Ploniew. Margaret was a member of First United Methodist Church in Waukegan. She was retired from Victory Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by six children George Fields of Beach Park, Marie (William) Stanhope of Waukegan, IL, Nazil (Graig) Rudzinski of Waukegan, IL, Luttie (Daniel) Majer of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Laura (Jim) Abusoud of Gages Lake, IL, James (Amy) Fields of Winthrop Harbor, IL, 22 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren, several cousins and many dear friends.

Jeannette B. Geczy
Jeannette B. Geczy, 78 of Grayslake, passed away at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville on March 25, 2003. She was born in Owen, Wisconsin on July 16, 1924 to the late Anne (nee Claussen) and Edward Fellbaum.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Steve Geczy; her children, Sandra (Pete) Vallejo of Tennessee; Penny (David) DeRose of New Mexico; Michael (Laura) Lampi of New Mexico; and Steven (Julie) Lampi of Chicago; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Terry Lampi in 1959; her first husband, Michael Lampi in 1965; and her grandson Michael E. Lampi, Jr. in 2001.

Florence E. Mowen, 82, of Elgin, formerly of Waukegan, passed away Friday, March 28, 2003 at her home.
She was born June 23, 1920 in Galva, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel and Gunhild Larsen Johnson.
Survivors include her daughter, Marcia (Ron) Schram of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack P; a sister, Violet; and three brothers, Edwin, Russell and Lester.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at 10:30 AM at North Shore Garden of Memories, North Chicago.
There will be no visitation.

Steve Rakich
Steve Rakich, 83, of Waukegan died Friday, March 28, 2003 at St. Therese Hospital, Waukegan.
He was born June 9, 1919 in Belosavce, Serbia and lived in Waukegan for the last 50 years and worked for most of those years at Johnson Motors.
Steve is survived by a nephew, Sreten "Sam" (Rada) Rakich of Waukegan, two grandnieces, Sandy and Silve Rakich.
His wife Florence "Anna" preceded him in death in 1976.
Visitation will be on Monday from 5-8 p.m. with "Pomen" services with Fr. Milan Savich officiating at 7 p.m. at the GURNEE/SALATA FUNERAL HOME, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Monastery, Gurnee, IL. Interment will follow at North Shore Garden of Memories.
Marge Jane Saunders
Marge Jane Saunders, 86, of Clearwater, FL died December 9, 2002. She was born January 13, 1916 in Rochester, MN and moved to Waukegan in 1925. She was a 57 year resident of Lake County and a long time member of Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan. Mrs. Saunders was employed by Abbott Laboratories for 35 years, working in International Advertising and International Accounting. Through Abbott, she was active in musicals, golf and bowling. She loved to travel. In 1982, after retirement, she moved to Tucson, AZ. She spent the last twelve years of her life in Clearwater, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oren and Etta Follensbee, brothers Ralph, Donald and Robert Follensbee, and sister Bette Peck.
Survivors include one daughter, Ginger Lambiris (Steve) of Clearwater, FL; four grandchildren, Peter Lambiris, Las Vegas, NV, Jane Thompson (Guy), Gurnee, IL, Beth Lambiris, Palm Harbor, FL, and Steven Lambiris, Henderson, NV; four great-grandchildren, Daniel Kielp, Beach Park, IL, Amy Kielp, Gurnee, IL, Kelly Kernes, Chicago, IL and Robert Scartozzi, Lecanto, FL; sister-in-law Emeline Follensbee, Gurnee and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at The Church of St. Patrick, Wadsworth, in the old church, Saturday, April 5, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. Cremains have been buried in the Follensbee family plot, Ascension cemetery, Libertyville.
Daniel J. Schroeder
Daniel J. Schroeder, 24, of Round Lake Beach died Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. He was born February 8, 1979 in Waukegan, the son of Nancy J. (Migalla) Miltier and Evan J. Schroeder. Formerly of Waukegan and Grayslake, he has been a resident of Round Lake Beach since he was nine years old. Dan attended Ellis Elementary School and graduated from Round Lake Community Unit District #116 High School in 1997. He attended College of Lake County and Northern Illinois University for two years with his friend Randy Varno. As avid sports fans, Dan and Randy planned to open a sports bar together. Employed by Chili's Restaurant in Round Lake Beach as a Server and was most recently promoted to Regional Trainer. He volunteered as a coach for the Round Lake Park District Football teams. Dan's mother described him as a "Bundle of Energy who lived every minute of his 24 years."
Survivors include his parents, Nancy (Jim) Miltier of Round Lake Beach and Evan J. (Judy) Schroeder of Round Lake Beach; siblings, Chad, Will, Mike, Jimmie, Bill, Michelle and Charles; maternal grandmother, Barbara Migalla of Antioch; paternal grandmother, Esther L. Schroeder of Grayslake; two uncles; an aunt; several cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Elmer Migalla; and his paternal grandfather, Edwin M. Schroeder.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 1, 2003 from 2 to 9 PM at the JUSTEN'S ROUND LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 222 North Rosedale Ct., Round Lake.
