Wayne Pendergraph, 60, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin died on Saturday, March 27, 2004 at home, surrounded by his family.
Wayne was born March 8, 1944 in Red Bay, Alabama and after growing up in Mississippi, moved to Zion at the age of 17 and to Pleasant Prairie in 1992. He was employed by MacLean-Fogg Company in Mundelein and he enjoyed sports and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Rita; two children, Terri (James) Luedtke of Pleasant Prairie and Kenneth (Candie) Tober of Racine; grandchildren, Christine, David Jr., Raeanne, Ashley, Kayla, Sydney, Aaron, Kenneth Jr., Cameron and Jordan; a great grandchild, Akilah; three sisters, Emma (Rois) Shook of Zion, Mary (Dale) Woodruff of Booneville, Mississippi and Shirley Chaney of Calhoun City, Mississippi; a brother, James (Shirley) Pendergraph of Vardeman, Mississippi; his mother-in-law, Mae Van Ness; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Loil Wayne Pendergraph Jr.; a granddaughter, Kristle Tober; a sister, Betty; his father and mother, James and Lola Mae (nee Howell) Pendergraph; and his father-in-law, Raymond Van Ness.
A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at 7 PM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion with Pastor Michael Futrell of Russell Community Church officiating. Interment will be Saturday, April 3rd in Booneville, Mississippi. Visitations will be Wednesday from 4 PM until time of service at the Congdon Funeral Home in Zion and on Saturday morning at the McMillan Funeral Home in Booneville, Mississippi. 847-746-1234.

Haydee Rivera
Haydee Rivera, 73, of Waukegan passed away on Friday, March 26, 2004 at her home. She was born January 26, 1931 in Ciales, Puerto Rico and had been a Waukegan resident for 45 years.
She was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Puerto Rican Society.
She is survived by her husband, Jose Rivera; children, Dora (Charles) Jacobson of Jacksonville, FL, William (Darlene) Rivera of Kenosha, WI, Alfredo (Pamela Gunchick) Rivera of Elgin, IL, Luz Elena Rivera of Puerto Rico, Laura Rivera of Clearwater, FL, Hilda Rivera of Ligonier, IN, Jose (Alicia) Rivera, Jr. of Mundelein and Angelo (Ericka) Rivera of Waukegan; 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; 10 brothers and sisters, Mery, Armando, Ismael, Iluminado, Angel, Hilda, Luis, Gladys, Lydia and Laura; also by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Buenaventura and Efigenia Rivera-Zayas; also her sister, Luisa Rivera and brother, Buenaventura Rivera, Jr.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at Holy Family Church, 450 Keller Ave., Waukegan. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Kristine De Marco Slawek
Kristine De Marco Slawek, 56, of Antioch, IL passed away Friday, March 26, 2004 at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, IL. She was born November 19, 1947 in Chicago, the daughter of the late William and Lorraine (Lorenz) Bostrand. Kristine had lived in Mundelein and Libertyville, IL and Stone Lake, WI before moving to Antioch in 2002. She loved to roller-skate and play bingo. In her earlier years, she was a licensed beautician and a factory worker. For the past ten years, she has worked as a titlelist with car auctions.
Survivors include her daughter, Kasie (Dennis) Daley of Salem, WI; her son, Troy (Michele) Tomas of Lindenhurst, IL; her two grandchildren, Bradley Daley and Nicole Tomas; and her fiance, Michael Fortin.
Funeral Services will be held at 7 PM Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St (Ret. 83), with visitation beginning at 4 PM. Cremation will follow. Info: 847-395-4000.

Anne Jenkins "Shack"
Anne "Shack" Jenkins, 48, of Waukegan passed away Thursday, March 24, 2005 at St. Therese Medical Center. She was born December 16, 1956 in Mount Bayou, Mississippi to the late Shelby Brantley and Wynette (Joe) Green.
She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who greatly treasured spending time with her family as well as reading anything she could get her hands on. She moved to Kenosha, WI at an early age, where she attended Durkee Elementary, Washington Junior High School, and Mary D. Bradford High School. She was a member of the former Friendship Baptist Church & Greater Faith Baptist Church.
Survivors include her mother Wynette (Joe) Green of Kenosha, WI; her three children, David Brantley of Kenosha, WI, LaShonette (Michael) Bradley-Moreino of Waukegan, IL, and Giovanni Days of Kenosha, WI; three sisters, Annette Brantley, Kenosha, WI, Linda Brantley of Milwaukee, WI, Katherine Brantley of Kenosha, WI; and her pride and joy, four granddaughters and five grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her father, Shelby Brantley; her husband Jesse Jenkins; her brother, Robert Brantley; and her granddaughter, Davisha Brantley-Gillum.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 7 p.m. at the BRADSHAW & RANGE FUNERAL HOME, 2513 Dugdale Road, Waukegan, IL, Pastor Joseph Thomas, New Brighter Day Church, Kenosha, WI, officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. (847) 662-3553.

Frances (Queenie) Klatt
Frances (Queenie) Klatt, age 90, of Mendota, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2005 at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mendota, where she had resided for the past year.
She was born on March 8, 1915 in Ohio, IL to Richard and Alice (Coleman) McInturf. On October 2, 1929 she married Herbert Klatt (who died on October 3, 1991) in Sycamore, IL. She and her husband farmed for many years in the Paw Paw, Earlville and Triumph areas. She was a member of the Holy Cross Church in Mendota.
Mrs. Klatt is survived by four sons, Robert (Donnalee) of DeKalb, IL, Thomas (Karen) of Bristol, IL, Gerald (Barbara) of Mendota and Terry (Susan) of Bolingbrook, IL; one daughter, Mary Ann (George) Ackley of Aurora, IL; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Richard; brother; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 31 at Holy Cross Church with Rev. James Kruse officiating. Burial at Precinct cemetery in Earlville. Visitation from 4-8 PM on Wednesday at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Church in Mendota.

Ruth M. Koenig
Ruth M. Koenig, 88, of Lindenhurst, formerly of Gurnee and Waukegan, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center.
She was born on March 23, 1917 in Antioch, IL and married Loyd Koenig in 1956 at St. Anastasia Church in Waukegan. Ruth retired from various secretarial positions in Lake County and at one time was an insurance broker and also groomed dogs at her home.
Ruth belonged to St. Anastasia Church and many organizations which include: The Emblem Club, Waukegan Women's Club, Sanctuary Society at St. Anastasia Church and was a former member of the Christian Women's Club.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Connie (Richard) Brunke of Waukegan and Mary (Edward) Propst of Danville, CA; a step daughter, Judy (Steve) Buncak of Waukegan; a step son, Jim (Mary Jane) Koenig of Winthrop Harbor; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband, Glenn C. Edwards in 1955; second husband, Loyd Koenig, February 6, 2005; a sister, Emogene Case; as well as her parents, Percival and Hedwig Chinn.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at St. Anastasia Church, 624 Douglas, Waukegan at 10 AM with Father Funtila officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 from 5 to 8 PM at the SALATA FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee, IL and from 9 AM until the start of Mass on Wednesday at St. Anastasia Church. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Victory Lakes for the loving care shown to their mother over the last several years. Donations may be made in Ruth's memory to St. Anastasia Church or your favorite Charity.

Richard J. Mikal
Richard J. Mikal, age 43, a lifetime resident of Ingleside, IL, died on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago. He was born on March 22, 1962 in Waukegan, IL, to Richard and Sally (nee Plies) Mikal.
He had attended Grant Community High School in Fox Lake, was a Social Member of the Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Department and had been employed with the Village of Fox Lake Street Department for the past eight years.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Mikal (nee Becht) of Ingleside; his son, Ryan Mikal of New York; his mother, Sally Mikal of Round Lake Beach; his sister, Susan McCauley of Ingleside; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends also survive.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard and a brother, Patrick.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Richard at 4:30 PM, Friday, April 1, 2005 at the Fox Lake Fire Department Bingo Hall on Washington Street. All are invited to attend from 4:00 PM through services. Arrangements completed by K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, Fox Lake, IL.

Bertha S. Millimaki
Bertha S. Millimaki, 96, of Waukegan, formerly of Lantana, FL., passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the Waukegan Pavilion Nursing Home.
She was born on August 11, 1908 in McFarland, MI and married William Millimaki on September 8, 1925 to whom she had been married to for 66 years.
Bertha was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Waukegan, as well as the Ladies of Kaleva and the Finnish Tourist Club.
Survivors include one son, Marvin Millimaki of Gwinn, MI; six grandchildren, Debra (David) Acker of Pleasant Prairie, WI., Karen (Greg) Nixon of Grayslake, IL., Robert (Heidi) Millimaki of Kenosha, WI, Kathy (Dr. Herbert) Kollinger of Alpharetta, GA., Marvin Millimaki Jr. of VA., and Michael Millimaki of North Carolina; one sister, Vivian Ferrare of Waukegan; two daughters-in-law, Dorothy (the late Lloyd) Millimaki of Waukegan and Joan (the late Robert) Millimaki of North Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1991; one granddaughter, Colleen; one brother, Sylvest Viitala; and one sister, Mary Stenholm.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Delany and Yorkhouse Rds. in Waukegan. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville.
Friends may call from 10:00 AM Thursday until the time of service only at St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Helen M. Miner
Helen M. Miner, 82, formerly of Arizona, passed away Easter Sunday, March 27, 2005 at her home in Grayslake.
She was born and raised in Zion to Walter and Marian Draudt on August 11, 1922.
Survivors include her two children, Gary H. (Lynn) Miner and Kenneth Lee (Sandy) Miner, and grandchildren, David Shaun Miner, JoAnn Elizabeth (Jeff) Fanale, Bryon Miner, and Cindy (Christopher) Evoy. Great grandchildren, Michael Miner and Sierra Fanale and sister, Frances Hudrick of Arizona also survive her.
Her husband, Kenneth Howard Miner, brother, Walter H. Draudt, Jr., sister, Estelle Draudt and aforementioned parents precede her in death.
Friends may visit from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATORIUM, LTD., 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. Albert G. Mini
Albert G. Mini, 82 of Waukegan, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2005 at St. Therese Medical Center in Waukegan.
He was born April 6, 1922 in Spring Valley, IL. On November 26, 1991 in Las Vegas, NV he married Elizabeth Holler. Al was owner and CEO of Illinois Carbide and Al Mini Enterprises, and was still active in the family business up to last week. He was also the former owner of Midlane Country Club in Waukegan.
He attended managing courses in Industrial Engineering for five years at Northwestern University evening school, and was also a graduate of the Industrial Management Institute at Lake Forest College.
Al was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army Air Corps, volunteering for pilot training in July, 1943. He served in the Air Force until December, 1945 and attended various Air Force flight-training programs.
He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and was a member of the Shriner's, Waukegan City Club, active in the Waukegan Republican Party, Croatian Cultural Center, Glen Flora Country Club, former member of the Waukegan Elk's Lodge and the American Legion, alumni of Highland Park High School, former chairman of the Waukegan Port District, and former chairman of the Italian-American Charity Golf Outing in Milwaukee, WI.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth; three sons, John (Linda) Mini of Russell, IL, Michael Mini of Wadsworth and Walter (Caryn) Page of Lake Villa, IL; two daughters, Glenda (Jack) Johnson of Wadsworth, IL and Diana (David) Carroll of Minnetonca, MN; five grandchildren, Crystal (Griffith) Costa, Charles Griffith, Antonio Mini, Kylie and Ryan Page; and two great-grandchildren, Page and Leah Costa.
He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Julia (Corsini) Mini.
Friends may call at the SALATA FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday only.
Mass of Christian Burial will be private at St. Patrick Church on Friday, April 1, 2005. Interment will follow at North Shore Garden of Memories.

James R. Nelson
1924-2005
James R. Nelson, 81 of Ottawa, IL, formerly of Antioch, IL, died Sunday morning at Community Hospital of Ottawa.
Private services will be held at a later date with burial in Mt. Olive cemetery in Chicago. Arrangements were handled by the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Mr. Nelson was born on February 18, 1924 in Chicago to Robert James and Francis Anna (Kurtz) Nelson. He was a retired plumber and pipe fitter. He was a navy veteran serving in World War II in Greenland.
He is survived by three sons, Kenneth of Waukegan, Douglas (Maureen) of Ottawa, and James (Denise) of Marriottsville, MD; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Amber, Eric, and Shannon Nelson; two sisters, Irenne Giebelhaus of Antioch and Jeannine Panza of Los Angeles.

Alberta Rollins
Alberta Rollins, age 85, of North Chicago, IL passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at the St. Therese Medical Center, Waukegan, IL.
She was born in Roe, Arkansas on May 27, 1919.
Alberta is survived by a sister and other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Rollins in 1991.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 800 S. Genesee St., Waukegan, IL, Pastor Walstone E. Francis, officiating. Jessie E. Smith
Born in Jackson, MS, to James Smith Jr. and Mattie Jackson on January 1, 1919, relocated to Illinois in 1954, resided in Waukegan, IL for 51 years. He was employed at Outboard Marine Corporation for 32 years; retired for 20 years. Jessie E. Smith dies March 25, 2005. He was married to Geraldine Smith and had (4) children with deceased wife Margaret Burton-Smith; Mrs. Jessie Mae Melendez (Ruby) of Minnesota, Mr. Bobby Smith (Carolyn) of Wisconsin, Ms. Margaret Marlow of Arizona and Ms. Carolyn Allen of Georgia; 12 Grandchildren; 22 Great grandchildren and 1 Great-Great grandchild; 3 sisters, Josephine Banks of Mississippi, Louise Shepard of Illinois and Pricilla Andersen of Illinois and a host of nieces and nephews.

Robert E. Babington
Robert E. Babington, 84 passed away March 26, 2006 in Racine, WI. Born July 16, 1921 in Seattle, WA and raised in Hollywood, CA.
Served in the US Navy in WWII and the Korean War. Longtime resident of Waukegan, IL. Retired Postal Carrier from Route #32, Lake County Gardens and Abbott Laboratories. Member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a man with a pure heart, who was dedicated to the people he loved and who loved him.
preceded in death by his angel on earth, Mildred Gallo Babington; and his sister, Ruth Smith of Joshua Tree, CA.
Survived by his devoted son, Gary Babington of Pleasant Prairie, WI and Leslie (Colleen) Babington of Salem, WI; grandchildren, Jason Patwell, Tara, Kelly and Michael Babington; and his beloved pet, "Lady".
