Peter A. Baker, age 77, of Winter Haven, FL, formerly of Mundelein, IL, died Friday, March 24, 2006 at home. He was born August 23, 1928 in Lake Forest, IL.
Peter was past president and Chairman of Peter Baker and Son Co. He was a former Navy Seabee and former member of Knights of Columbus and VFW.
He was the husband of Joyce M. (nee Lindholm) and the late Dorothy Mae (nee Cummings). Loving father of Arthur II (Jo Anne), Terry Baker, Robert baker and Barbara (Michael) Duffy. Cherished grandfather of Peter Baker, John Strazer, Julie, Dustin and Gwen Rodgers, Shannon (Ryan) Maguire and Moira and Aileen Duffy. Proud great-grandfather of Kyle. Dear brother of Arthur M. Jr., Elaine Cascarano and the late Russell. Devoted son of the late Erna and Arthur Sr.
Visitation is from 3-8 PM on Friday, March 31, 2006at the KISSELBURG-WAUCONDA FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, April 1, 2006. Robert P. Blackowicz "D.A." "Blackie"
Robert P. Blackowicz, 77 of Johnsburg, IL, formerly of Gurnee for 43 years, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2006 at Centegra Medical Center in Woodstock, IL. He was born on January 16, 1929 in North Chicago, IL, and married
Delores DeCleene in May, 1957 in Greenleaf, Wisconsin. He retired as a repairman with AT & T in 1984 after 35 years of employment. Mr. Blackowicz was a member of The Church of St. Patrick in Wadsworth and was a member of the Lake Regions Men's Club. He was also a veteran of the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in battle.
He is survived by his wife, Delores; five children, James (Lisa) of Johnsburg, IL, Thomas (Lora) of Lindenhurst, IL, Gary (Jean) Blackowicz of Johnsburg, IL, Cheryl (Gary) Rabine of Johnsburg, IL, and Jeffrey (Mary) Blackowicz of Spring Grove, IL; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Casey (Dorothy) Blackowicz of No. Las Vegas, NV, and Chester (Dora) Blackowicz of Waukegan, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM at The Church of St. Patrick, 15000 Wadsworth Rd., Wadsworth. Interment will be private.

Danny Alvin Brazelton
Danny was born in 1944 to Horace and Nellie Brazelton. He was the 13th child of thirteen children.
Danny leaves to cherish his memory Jeanette Willis of Winchester, TN; Joe Brazelton of Oakland, CA; Hattie Brazelton and Jerry Brazelton of Sacramento, CA; and Joan Murkey of Gurnee, IL; many nieces and nephews.
A Chapel Service was held on March 20th, officiated by Rev. James Merold. Interment was at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery.

Kathyrn Burkey Henderson
Kathryn Burkey Henderson, 88, passed away peacefully and was welcomed into the loving arms of Our Lord on Sunday, March 26, where she was reunited with her family and many loved ones.
She leaves to celebrate her life a daughter, Jule (Doug) Groat of Antioch; sister, Jacqueline (Richard) Cleary of Northridge, CA; daughter-in-law, Judy Henderson of Gurnee; sister-in-law, Janie Burkey of St. Charles; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many loved ones.
Besides her parents, Si and Eva Burkey, she was preceded in death by her two sons, James and Jeffrey; daughter, Joyce; grandson, Jon; brother, Orville Burkey; sisters, Lorna Bieneman and JoAnne Champlin.
"Mrs. Kay's" family wishes to thank those "Special" caregivers and friends from Pebblebrook (Claridge) Healthcare, where she called home for many years. Also, a deep appreciation and thank you to two very special people from Season's Hospice who provided comfort both physically and spiritually.
Katy is never more than a thought or memory away. All the love she created is still here and in the hearts of those she touched through the years.
There will be no visitation. Interment will be private.

Robert Lee Humphrey
Robert Lee Humphrey, age 77, of Zion died March 23, 2006 at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion. He was born September 16, 1928 in Waukegan to Stanley and Mildred (Ebert) Humphrey. He married
Ruth E. Goodwin, who preceded him in death on September 7, 1994.
Robert was a veteran of the Army Air Corp. serving during WWII. He was a brick layer for 40 years and was also employed as an X-Ray technician for Johnson Motors in Waukegan for 15 years. His hobby was wood crafting, he especially enjoyed making bird houses and nativity sets. He was an avid fisherman, and also enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, boating and water skiing.
Survivors include three children, Roberta (Eddie Powell) Humphrey of Beach Park, Sharon Humphrey of Zion, Robert Humphrey of Beach Park; five grandchildren, Kimberly (Thomas) Paglusch, Anthony (Carla) Hodgson, Heather Reed, Sheena Humphres, Jeremy (Mirah) Humphres; and 13 great-grandchildren, Marisa, Connor, Tarran, Hailee, Kaytlyn, Nathaniel, Ashton, Alexis, Monet, Taylor, Nick, Logan, Dylan; three brothers, Larry Humphrey of Waukegan, Leonard Humphrey of Decatur, Harold Humphrey of Zion; two sisters, Mildred Swanson of Zion and Helen Rasmussen of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth; and his parents.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 30, 2006 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Justen's Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Delphine D. Koski
Delphine Doris (Pellinen, Johnson) Koski (69) of Negaunee, MI (formerly of Waukegan) died peacefully in her home in the loving care of her family on March 25, 2006, succumbing to internal complications after suffering severe head trauma from a fall on the ice in January.
Born at home on January 22, 1937, the daughter of Kosti (Gus) and Olga (Lampinen) Pellinen of Rock MI, graduating from High School there in 1954, and later went to Elkhart University, IN, participating in Dental Hygienist training and applying her skills for 14 years in Waukegan, IL, and was currently enrolled as a student at Northern Michigan University.
She is survived by her husband of twenty-two years, Leslie Koski of Negaunee Township; son Neal (Cindy) Johnson; grandchildren: Erica Johnson and Brett Johnson of Gurnee, IL; daughter Tracie Swanson; granddaughter Kayla Yadon of Marquette Township; brother Roger (Rosetta) Pellinen of Escanaba and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother Robert; older brother Melvin (Mabel) Pellinen of Ishpeming, MI.; and former husband Ronald Johnson of Waukegan. She was a member of Lake Superior Christian Church of Marquette, MI.
Mrs. Koski loved her Ragdoll cat Piika, flower gardening, cooking, spending time at her camp on the Dead River Basin, babysitting and spending time with her grandchildren, and staying in touch with friends and family. Her life could be summarized as a person who gave the best of herself and always saw the best in everyone.
While living in Waukegan she was affiliated with many positions and programs. Some of those positions included: Secretary, then President of the Doctors Assistants Associations; Secretary, then President of the Parents Teachers Association, Oakdale School; Sales Manager for Vanda personal beauty products, earning numerous achievement awards including winning a car; an active member in the Elks Clubs affili
ate Emblem Club as officer, public relations and Christmas Baskets Committee distribution; Volunteer mail delivery to patients at Victory Memorial Hospital; delivering Meals on Wheels program; Office Manager of Cinnamon Lake Towers apartment complex, and also worked for the Alcohol Treatment Center, Lake County (IL) Health Department, interviewing incoming patients and attending group sessions.
In 1983 she married
Mr. Koski, residing in Negaunee Township. They enjoyed their time together at their camp on the Dead River Basin, traveling as far as Arizona, Florida and Canada, along with reunions with friends and classmates. She regularly volunteered for pledge drives to support the Marquette Co. Humane Society. Recently the majority of her time was dedicated to Alcoholics Anonymous as a counselor, and as a student at Northern Michigan University, and will posthumously be awarded a degree in Social Welfare in April, 2006. Mrs. Koski's recent dedication and passion was interacting with people in a meaningful way through counseling. She regularly spent her time in AA group meetings several times each week and personally provided substance abuse mentorship for dozens of people in the Marquette County area. During that time she helped change the lives of many, all of whom, along with her family, will miss her energetic and positive presence very much.
Visitation for Mrs. Koski will be held at Lake Superior Christian Church, 393 N. M553, Marquette, MI 49855, on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, from 2pm to 4pm, funeral services from 4pm to 5pm and fellowship from 5:30 until approximately 7:00pm. Burial will be private.

Victor J. Lattan
Victor J. Lattan, 82, of Algonquin, passed away March 27, 2006 at Tower Hill Healthcare Center of Elgin, IL.
He was born May 21, 1923 in Maywood, IL to Louis and Josephine Lattan. Vic served in the United States Air Force during WWII and later graduated from the University of Illinois. He retired as CFO of Acme Printing Ink Co. in 1986. After his marriage to Jane Jackson in 1988, they moved to Memphis, Tennessee. Vic's love of numbers served him well into his retirement years, working as a small business advisor at Memphis State University, and again in the same capacity at Elgin Community College until his death.
Vic is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jane; sons, Phil Jackson of Milwaukee, WI, Jon Jackson (Pam) of Gurnee, IL, Paul Lattan (Lisa) of Kansas City, MO; daughters, Norma Muldowney (Art) of Edina, MN, Lorraine Oribon (Jim) of Northbrook, IL, Alyce Casper (Rich) of Glenview, IL, 17 grandchildren; and son-in-law, Mike Gordon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Josephine; sister, Adeline Lattanzio; daughter-in-law, Deb Jackson; and daughter, Nancy Gordon.

Candida Picchietti (nee Bernardi), 92, of Deerfield formerly of Highland Park, passed away March 26, 2006.

Kevin M. Rindahl
Kevin M. Rindahl, 43 years old of Salem, WI passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at his home after a long illness. He was born March 14, 1963 in Waukegan, IL the son of Ralph and Dolores (Krebs) Rindahl. Kevin lived in Wadsworth, IL before moving to Wisconsin in 1999. He served the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy for several years and was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. in Osseo, WI.
He had worked for several years at Abbott Laboratory as a help desk specialist. Presently he was learning networking at Kaplan University in Chicago. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Silver Lake, WI and he loved to fish and hunt and to do gardening.
On December 4, 1995 he married
Michelle Coleman McGill in Portsmouth, VA.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle; three daughters, Jacquelyn, Anna and Emily; his mother, Dolores Rindahl and his father, Ralph Rindahl; one brother, Ralph (Joan) Rindahl; and two sisters, Cindy (Bob) Sikora and Carrie (John) Sanders.
He was preceded in death by a nephew, Ricky Sanders.

MaryAnn Witasick (nee Militech)
MaryAnn Witasick, (nee Militech), 82, died Friday at Victory Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Witasick was born in North Chicago and attended grade school there. She graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1941. She was accepted at the University of Chicago but suffered an injury to her hands that kept her from attending.
Mrs. Witasick met and married
Bernard Witasick, a career Marine, in 1948. She worked as a secretary for the Federal Government as her family moved for her husband's military assignments, living in Pennsylvania and North Carolina before returning to Waukegan for their retirement.
Known for her bright intelligence and great love of learning, Mrs. Witasick read widely and enjoyed collecting books. She was the family historian keeping touch with relatives in Croatia and Canada throughout her life. She took great pride in the achievements of her family, especially her parents, both immigrants from Croatia. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was generous and kind to all. Mrs. Witasick was a devoted member of the Catholic Church.
She leaves her husband, Bernard, of 56 years, her son, Bernard and her sister, Theresa Hutton and many nieces and nephews. Her parents Jack and Madeline Militech of North Chicago, preceded her in death.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 31, 2006 at St. Dismas Church, 2600 Sunset Ave., Waukegan. Interment will be at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00 A.M. to time of Mass.

Albert J. Berry "Jack"
Albert J. Berry, 80, of Libertyville, IL, passed away Friday, March 25, 2005 at the Condell Medical Center. He was born November 22, 1924 in Lake Forest and was raised in Libertyville, where he was a 1942 graduate of Libertyville High School. Following high school, Jack served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre during World War II, and was a member of the VFW Post #4308 in Lake Villa. He was also a charter member of the World War II Memorial Society. Jack retired as Chief of Police in River Forest, IL, having served the department for 27 years, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #46.
Surviving are his wife, Adeline; a daughter, Susan Berry of Deerfield; and his brother, Frederick (Faye) Berry of Pasadena, CA.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah (nee Oldfield) Berry; and father, Albert Berry, who was the gardener on the Adler Estate many years ago.

Angeline E. Jakaitis (nee Pasiewicz)
Angeline "Nell" Jakaitis, 86, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.
Nellie was born in Waukegan, IL on September 15, 1918. She was a resident of Dove Healthcare at Glendale for the past six months. She and her husband owned Midge's Tap in North Chicago for 30 years before retiring to Clearwater, FL in 1980.
Survivors include children, Carol (Marc) Schatz, Mequon, WI, Bill (Suzi), San Diego, CA, and John (Susan), Terre Haute, IN; grandchildren, Jeff, David (Angie) and Timm Schatz, Jason, Tyler, Stefanie and Joy Jakaitis; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Jonathan Schatz; sister, Louise Rogondino; brother-in-law, Richard (Marle) Jakaitis; and sisters-in-law, Grace (Emil) Naczak and Pat Solie.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William (Midge) Jakaitis; sisters, Jean Quigley, Josephine Colp, Lillian Babnik, Dorothy Parr and Florence Boehm; and brothers, Stanley Pasiewicz, Edward Pasiewicz and Thomas Pasiewicz.
A Memorial mass will be on Friday, April 1, 2005, at 12 noon at Holy Family Church, 450 Keller St., Waukegan, Illinois. Family visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to your favorite charity are appreciated.
Ruth M. Koenig
Ruth M. Koenig, 88, of Lindenhurst, formerly of Gurnee and Waukegan, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center.
She was born on March 23, 1917 in Antioch, IL and married
Loyd Koenig in 1956 at St. Anastasia Church in Waukegan. Ruth retired from various secretarial positions in Lake County and at one time was an insurance broker and also groomed dogs at her home.
Ruth belonged to St. Anastasia Church and many organizations which include: The Emblem Club, Waukegan Women's Club, Sanctuary Society at St. Anastasia Church and was a former member of the Christian Women's Club.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Connie (Richard) Brunke of Waukegan and Mary (Edward) Propst of Danville, CA; a step daughter, Judy (Steve) Buncak of Waukegan; a step son, Jim (Mary Jane) Koenig of Winthrop Harbor; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband, Glenn C. Edwards in 1955; second husband, Loyd Koenig, February 6, 2005; a sister, Emogene Case; as well as her parents, Percival and Hedwig Chinn.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at St. Anastasia Church, 624 Douglas, Waukegan at 10 AM with Father Funtila officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 from 5 to 8 PM at the SALATA FUNERAL HOME OF GURNEE, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee, IL and from 9 AM until the start of Mass on Wednesday at St. Anastasia Church. Interment will follow at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville.
