Jens L.C. Lademann
Jens L. C. Lademann, 61, of Lake Villa, Illinois, died peacefully early Thursday morning March 25, 2004 at home.
He was from Denmark, born May 28, 1942 and came to the United States in 1967. He married
Jean Schreiber on March 22, 1986, with whom he had just celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Lademann was employed as a mechanical engineer at Fairbanks & Morris Manufacturing Co. in Beloit, Wisconsin, for 18 years, and was also employed at Alliant Tech in Joliet, Illinois, and most recently at American Metal Fiber in Lake Bluff.
He attended St. Mark Lutheran Church in Lindenhurst and also belonged to the Danish Brotherhood in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He was very proud of his Danish heritage.
Mr. Lademann's hobbies included traveling, water sports especially sailing in his younger years, NASCAR racing and playing on his home computer. He also had a love for the ocean.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; one daughter, Julie (Greg) Yerke of Janesville, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Hunter and Liesl Yerke; and his mother, Claire Lademann of Denmark. He was preceded by his father, Karl.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 28, 2004 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1822 Grand Avenue, Lindenhurst, IL, with Rev. Terry R. Breum officiating. Interment will be private on Monday at Millburn cemetery.
Friends may call from 1:30 PM Sunday until time of service only at St. Mark Lutheran Church.
Arrangements are under the care of Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, Ltd., 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee, Illinois.

Devaudre "Jack" Metcalf
Devaudre "Jack" Metcalf, 81, of Beach Park, IL died Saturday, March 20, 2004 at his home with his family at his side. Jack was born on September 2, 1922 in Bay City, IL to Samuel C. and Pearl (Wells) Metcalf.
In 1943, he was united in marriage to Reece M. Throgmorton, they were married
49 years until her passing in 1992.
Jack worked as a Second Mate on a river boat and also surveyed much of Southern Illinois and worked on many locks on the Ohio River.
Jack joined the Army and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines. He moved to North Chicago in 1946 where he lived and worked and retired from Abbott Laboratories after 33 years. He moved to McKenzie, TN in 1981.
Jack was a member of the Free Masons of Illinois for 55 years and was a Past Master in 1958 of the North Chicago Lodge #1095 and a member of the NRA.
Jack is survived by a son, Jack (Mary) Metcalf of Beach Park; two grandsons, Anthony and Benjamin of Beach Park; a granddaughter, Susan Conry of TX; and a sister, Ferne L. Wise of Manteno, IL.
Graveside Services were held at 11 AM Wednesday, March 24, at Mt. Olivet cemetery, McKenzie, TN

Virginia Marie Olson
Virginia Marie Olson, 88, a lifelong resident of Waukegan, died peacefully this past Monday, March 22, 2004, at the Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Zion, where she had been admitted on February 25.
She is survived by her husband, Edgar C. Olson of Waukegan, with whom she had been married
almost 65 years; by one son, Guy E. Olson of Rockville, Maryland; and by two grandsons - Mehrtash C. Olson of Atlanta, Georgia, and Ramin M. Olson of New York City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Aurelia (Schaal) Morford, and by her four siblings - Margaret Towns of Waukegan, Isabel McClelland of Chicago, William Morford of Montello, Wisconsin, and Dorothy Thompson of Lady Lake, Florida.
Born in Waukegan on August 23, 1915, she attended Glen Flora Elementary School and Waukegan Township High School, and she was a member of Trinity United Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held at the church this Saturday, March 27, at 2:30 p.m., with Pastor Dennis H. Kelly officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Trinity United Lutheran Church, 658 Grand Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085.
Gary K. Rowe
Gary K. Rowe, age 51, passed away Monday, March 22, 2004 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan. A life-long resident of Lake Villa, he was born September 28, 1952 in Waukegan to Howard and Irene Rowe. Gary graduated from Antioch High School in 1969. For more than 20 years he was employed at North Chicago Veterans Hospital.
He leaves his loving family to cherish his memory. His son, Tony (Andrea) Rowe, his daughters, Megan and Jenna Rowe. His beloved grandson, Austin Rowe. He leaves his parents, Howard and Irene (nee Steinbach) Rowe; two brothers, Ted Rowe, Tim (Terri) Rowe; one sister, Sharon Rowe. Four nieces, Robin, Michelle, Lindsey and Amber Rowe. Two nephews, George and Harold Kontaxis. Many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Julia Sidlauskas
Julia Sidlauskas, a lifelong resident of Waukegan, passed away on March 23, 2004 at Winchester House in Libertyville. In Waukegan, She resided at Lilac Ledge for many years.
She was born in Waukegan on December 29, 1922.
She retired from U.S. Steel & Wire Company after 37 years of service.
Julia is survived by two sisters, Bernice Streed of Lindenhurst and Emily Hanlin of Libertyville. Also, surviving is a niece, Karen (Jim) Gamble of Wadsworth, IL., and their children, and a nephew, Karl (Kay) Streed of Beavercreek, Ohio, and their children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Veronica Sidlauskas, her brothers-in-law, James Hanlin and Karl Streed, and her niece, Joyce Hanlin.
Funeral services and cremation were private.
Mary P. Turney (nee: Farkas)
Age 92, of Kenosha, WI, died March 24, 2004. She was born August 6, 1911 in Joliet, IL, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Farkas. She and her late husband, Tully H. Turney, Sr. were married
October 3, 1933. They resided in Lakewood and Rocky River, OH for 39 years, and later lived in Leesburg, FL, for 26 years.
She was deeply loved by all her family, including, in addition to her late husband; her children, Tully H. (Jane) Turney, Jr. of Hampden-Sydney, VA, and Marianne Turney of Gurnee, IL; and her grandson, Benjamin Turney of Durham, NC.

Grace T. Clausen
Grace T. Clausen, 92, of Libertyville, IL, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at her home. She was born October 25, 1912 in Chicago, where she was a resident for most of her life, living in Libertyville for the past 14 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Riggio of Azusa, CA and Marilyn (Arthur) Struss of Libertyville; six grandchildren, Jimmy (Leann) Riggio, Lisa (James Carlson) Riggio, Heidi Struss, Bill Struss, Linda Kelly and Jaye Riggio; two great-grandchildren, Rylie Beth and Jake Riggio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Clausen in 1975 and by two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 29, until time of services at Noon, at the Grace Lutheran Church, 501 Valley Park Drive, Libertyville. Interment will be on Wednesday for the family.

Delores M. Brenner
Delores M. Brenner, age 60, of Round Lake Beach, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2003 in Lake Forest. Born September 14, 1942 to the late Charles and Maria Lisciandrello. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Delores is survived by her husband of 42 years, Rodney A. Brenner, her children, Pamela (Joe) Badame, Rodney (Deborah) Brenner Jr., Cynthia (Ronald) Howsam, Dean Brenner, Babette Brenner, Patrick Brenner, twelve grandchildren, Christa Badame, Anthony, Valentina, Claudia, and Angelo Umlauf, Doris, Celeste, and Daniel Brenner, Jason, Katrina, Sabrina, and Tiffany Howsam, one great grandson, Ryan Howsam, and her sister Sr. Mary JoAnna Lisciandrello. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Charles and Michael.

Nellie B. Finney, age 79, of North Chicago, IL passed away on March 21, 2003 at home.
She was born in Midway, AL on March 1, 1924.
She is survived by her estranged husband, Seymore Finney, Jr.; a daughter, Annie Pennick and special friend, Ben Westley of North Chicago; three sisters, Minnie L. Ivey of Midway, AL, Essie Bronson and Eula Bell Rogers, both of Miami, FL; a step-mother, Eula Mae Bronson of Miami, FL; four grandchildren, Diane (Johnny) Blair, Bobby and Maurice Pennick all of North Chicago, Curlin Pennick III of Tacoma, WA; seven great grandchildren, Ronda, Annie, Darnisha, China and Kristel all of North Chicago, Diane and Curlin IV both of Tacoma, WA; special cousins including Thomas D. Faniel of Union Springs, AL and a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Lee and Nora Bronson and two brothers, Arthur Lee Bronson and Bennie James Bronson.

Dorothy E. Gromala, 80, of Lindenhurst, passed Sunday, March 23, 2003 at Provena St. Therese. She was born May 13, 1923 in Chicago. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Edward A.; one son Edward J. (Patricia) of Hawthorne Woods; one daughter Patricia (Mark) Hatton of Gurnee; four grandchildren, Ryan, Jessica, Jacob, and Alexandria; and two brothers, George and Jim Moore.

Helen E. Hanni, 92, of Zion died on Monday, March 24, 2003 at home. Helen was born November 20, 1910 in Zion and had lived here all of her life where she and her husband Edward were in fellowship with North Shore Bible Chapel in Zion.
Survivors include her husband, Edward; children, Steve (Gwen) Hanni of Richardson, Texas, Barbara (Lee) Sheppard of Winthrop Harbor and Noel (Darla) Hanni of Lexington, Kentucky; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two brothers, Dave Suttie of Crystal Lake, Illinois and Lloyd (Ruth) Suttie of Albuquerque, MN; and her sister, Jeanne (Henry) Meyer of Zion. She was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth, Robert and Harold Suttie; and by her parents, Ernest and Gertrude Suttie.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2003 at 11 AM at North Shore Bible Chapel, 2800 29th Street, Zion with Dr. William Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Benton-Greenwood cemetery, Benton Township, Illinois.

Joanne M. Held, 84, of Lake Villa, IL, formerly of Carpentersville, IL, passed away at Highland Park Hospital on Monday, March 24, 2003.
She was born in London, England on February 21, 1919. She was a resident of Lake Villa for the past three years, and had been a resident of Carpentersville for many years. She was active with the Lindenhurst Park District Senior Group.
She is survived by her children, Michael Korotasz of Elgin, IL, Karen (Frank) Benincasa of Pennsylvania, Tracy (Greg) Castro of Lindenhurst, IL, Gary (Susan) Held of Carpentersville, IL and Robert Held of Florida; her grandchildren, Joseph, Janet, Edward, Denise, Jeffrey, Vikki, Michael, Trisha, James, Nicole, Andrew, Mia, Amy, Amanda and Marcus; and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; her children, Deborah Ortman and Peggy Real; and a brother.

Elizabeth Twentyman Howe
Elizabeth Twentyman Howe, 89, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2003 at Brentwood North Health Care Facility in Riverwoods. Born November 10, 1913 in Evanston. The daughter of the late Thomas Ingram Simpson and Elizabeth Robertson.
Elizabeth Twentyman Howe moved to Wilmette in 1956. A graduate of New Trier High School and attendee at Northwestern University, she became active in business and community activities.
For over twenty years she was an executive with Carson, Pirie, Scott, ending that phase of her career as the Personnel Manager of Carson's Edens Plaza store.
In 1979 she was elected as a Trustee of the Village of Wilmette. She also was a board member of the Wilmette Chamber of Commerce including service for a term as the President of that chamber. In addition, she served as Director of the Wilmette United Way and on the Northern Illinois Council for the State Board of Education.
After a brief "retirement" Elizabeth Twentyman Howe became a sales associate in the Wilmette office of Koenig & Strey. In 1987 she was named both Woman of the Year by the Illinois State Chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors and Realtor-Associate of the Year by the North Shore Board of Realtors. Subsequent to those recognitions, she was chosen Realtor of the State by the Women's Council of Realtors.
Elizabeth is survived by her only child, Elizabeth (John) McDonald and her three grandchildren, Donald, John and Elizabeth "Betsy" Erickson. She is preceded in death by her husbands Thomas Jefferson Twentyman in 1976 and Dean O. Howe in 1994, her sister Margaret Simpson Blow and a brother Thomas Simpson.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Christ Church, 784 Sheridan Road, Winnetka, IL 60093 with the Rev. Edward Prevost officiating.
