Mrs. Jack Watters
Services for Mrs. Jack (Dorotha M. Hamilton) Watters, 76, of Federal Way, Wash. died at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003 in her home.
Services for the former Sullivan resident were held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Bleitz Funeral Home in Seattle, Wash. Burial was in the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash.
Born July 29, 1926 in Decatur, she was the daughter of Cecil and Ferne Hamilton. She married Jack H. Watters of Bethany Oct. 21, 1945, and he survives.
Other survivors include sons, John of Minneapolis, Minn. and William of Seattle; six grandsons; one step granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
Ellis Zimmerman
Ellis B. Zimmerman, 79, of Port Orford, Ore. died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003 in Coos Bay, Ore.
Services for the former Dewitt resident will be held at a later date, and burial will be in Dewitt.
Born March 30, 1923 in Dewitt, he was a former 15-year employee of the Borg-Warner Corp. and was a retired real estate salesman. He was a World War II and Korean War veteran and was a deacon at the Wesley Chapel Church in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. for 20 years. He also managed the Agate Beach RV Park in Port Orford.
Survivors include his wife, Camellia; daughters, Peggy Bonilla of Lake Havasu and Mary Lou Hutchcraft of Sullivan; sons, Charles Zimmerman of Cisco, Michael Zimmerman of Clarksville, Tenn., David Zimmerman of Port Orford and Tom Moon of Sullivan; sisters, Vera Henson of Clinton and Lois Dyson of Atwell, Ind.; brothers, Paul Zimmerman and Merle Zimmerman, both of Farmer City; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. One brother and one son preceded him in death.
William Kercheval
Memorial services for William Leroy Kercheval, 55, of Myrtle, Mo., formerly of Sullivan, will be held at a later date with arrangements under the direction of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home in West Plains, Mo.
Mr. Kercheval died at 3:05 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 in the Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains.
He was born Sept. 18, 1947 in Decatur, the son of Roscoe and Annalee Clayton Kercheval. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam War, and he was a member of the Thayer Assembly of God Church. He was a 1966 graduate of Sullivan High School. He married Terri J. Jones Feb. 14, 1978 in Lawndale, Cal., and she survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, RuthAnna J. Kercheval of West Plains; four sons, William Kercheval Jr. and wife Vonnie of Mattoon, Billy Gene Kercheval and wife Rachel of Arthur, James Kercheval and wife Melissa of Sullivan and Robert Kercheval and wife Tina of Bethany; 12 grandchildren; his mother; two brothers, Kenneth Kercheval and Jack Kercheval; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.

William Kercheval

Donald Shull
Donald Eugene Shull, 78, of Decatur died at 2:05 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2003 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Bethany with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial with military rites will be in the Marrowbone Township Cemetery in Bethany.
Donald was born April 8, 1924 in Monticello, the son of John and Lulu Sybil Whitton Shull. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a switchman for the Illinois Central Railroad for 17 years. He was a custodian for the Sullivan and Blue Mound school districts. He owned and operated Shull Janitorial Services while employed at the Decatur Professional Building. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Mary Lou Reedy Aug. 14, 1949 in Mattoon, and she survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Lu Bruns (Rick) of Decatur; sons, Frank Shull (Doreen) of Englewood, Fla., Rob Shull (Beth) of Decatur; grandchildren, Shawn Davis (Amber), Tanya King (Joe), Stephanie Shull and Colton and Caitlin Hart; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Haley and Joey King; eight step grandchildren, Kelly, Angela, Laura, Jason, Brandon, Jameson, Cameron and Christian; and one step great-grandchild, Casey.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sid; and granddaughter, Aundrea Fae Shull.
Mary Snow
Funeral services for Mrs. Carl (Mary A. Cordray) Snow, 90, of Decatur were held at 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) in the McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan. Burial was in the Marrowbone Cemetery in Bethany.
The former Bethany resident died at 6:10 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003 in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
She was born June 13, 1912 in Bethany, the daughter of Edd and Olive Sharp Cordray. She was a member of the Divernon Methodist Church in Divernon and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge. She married Carl H. Snow April 1, 1929 in Bethany, and he preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1987.
Surviving are her son, Ryland Snow of Herscher; daughters, Olive Ann Foreman of Tuscola and Audrey G. Richardson of Divernon; sister, Pauline Moses of Arthur; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and one son.
Mary Gladville
Mrs. Glenn (Mary E. Snyder) Gladville, 100, of Lovington died at 5:05 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 in the Sullivan Health Care Center.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Lovington Christian Church with visitation from 5 to 7 tonight (Wednesday) at McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Lovington. Burial will be in the Keller Cemetery in Lovington.
Born June 30, 1902 in Campbellsburg, Ind., she was the daughter of John H. and Lillian Gould Snyder. She was a member of the Lovington Christian Church in Lovington, Loyal Hummers Sunday school class and Christian Women’s Fellowship. She married Glenn H. Gladville March 28, 1926 in Lovington, and he died Jan. 27, 1991.
Survivors include daughters, Betty born Atteberry of Lovington and Glenda Gilbert of Nevada City, Cal.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
One brother preceded her in death.
Donald Wright
Donald W. Wright, 68, of Decatur died at 9:55 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003 in his home.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in the Boiling Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes.
Born Jan. 7, 1935 in Sullivan, he was the son of Leonard and Nina Bernice Baugher Wright. He most recently owned and operated Don’s Kleen Rite, and prior to that he owned and operated Wright’s Carpet Cleaning for many years. He married Wilma E. “Sally” Farrar June 27, 1956, and she died in 1995.
Survivors include sons, Donald M. Wright and David “Chris” Wright, both of Decatur and Alan M. Wright of Los Angeles, Cal.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
One brother preceded him in death.
