Alexander Eschker Jr., 77, of Niles died on March 18, 2003 in Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge.
Born in Yugoslavia, Mr. Eschker worked in maintenance for residential buildings.
He is survived by his wife, Amalia; children, Bill (Nancy) and Linda Eschker; grandchildren, Emma and Samuel Eschker; brother, Ernest (Erna) Eschker; and sister, Maria Steinbichler.
Burial was in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles.
Arrangements were handled by Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, Niles.
Charles Galati
Charles Carl Galati, 84, formerly of Niles, died on March 18, 2003 in Weyauwega Health Care Center.
Mr. Galati was the owner of a cleaning company. He had served in the U.S. Army.
Preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia, he is survived by a daughter, Marilyn (Steve) Griffin of Oshkosh, Wis.; and grandchildren, Steve Galati and Kim Schumacher.
Visitation was in Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, Niles. Funeral Mass was celebrated on March 22 in St. John Brebeuf Church, Niles. Burial was in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles.
Dorothea Heinrich
Dorothea “Dee”’ Heinrich, founder of the Center of Concern, died on March 23, 2003.
Mrs. Heinrich founded the Center of Concern, originally known as the Office of Ombudsman for Park Ridge, in January 1978 and served as executive director until her retirement in 1993.
She is survived by her husband, George; and sons, Jerrold and Joel.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today, March 27, in Cumberland Funeral Chapels, 8300 Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Burial will be in Irving Park Cemetery, Chicago.

Shirley Koehler
Shirley R. Koehler, 82, of Niles died on March 15 in Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest; daughter, Joanne Fjell Hattendorf; grandchildren, Cathryn Fjell Wadsworth, Christen Fjell Gingerich and Erik Fjell; and great-grandchildren, Daniel and Jessica Wadsworth and Jackson Fjell.

Krystyna Milkowska
Krystyna Milkowska, 65, of Niles died on March 14, 2003 in her home.
Born in Poland, she worked as a baby-sitter.
Survivors include her husband, Roman; and a daughter, Joanna Milkowska of Niles.

Arthur Schoenberger
Arthur A. Schoenberger, 76, of Niles died on March 14, 2003 at Resurrection Medical Center, Chicago.
Mr. Schoenberger worked as a warehouse manager.
He is survived by his sisters, Rosemary and Lucille Schoenberger, Dorothy (Walter) Garby of Niles, Florence (Wells) Horvereid, Terry Degeneffe, Betty Cardinal and Charlotte Murray; and brother, Richard (Annette) Schoenberger.

Raymond Spychala
Raymond F. Spychala, 64, of Prospect Heights, former longtime resident of Park Ridge, died on March 19, 2003.
Mr. Spychala was the owner of Ability Vending in Niles.
He was a graduate of Lane Tech High School and he was an Eagle Scout.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Sarah (nee Neilsen); children, Karl (Janice), Kathy, Keith (Susan) and Kim (Phillip) Bregenzer; nine grandchildren; and brother, Gerald (Janice).
Funeral service was conducted on March 22 at Nelson Funeral Home, Park Ridge. Burial was in Town of Maine Cemetery, Park Ridge.
John Hammersmith
John H. Hammersmith, 55, of Park Ridge died on April 3, 2001 in Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge.
Mr. Hammersmith was a graduate of Vanderbilt University. He previously
owned the Candlelight Restaurant in Chicago. He was the owner of the Skokie Bowling Lanes, having taken over in 1978.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn; children, Debbie (Reid) Neuman, Scott Jackson, Steve (Kim) Jackson, Andy Hill, John and Michael; his mother, Leona; six grandchildren; and siblings, James (Renee) and Rita (Tim) O'Reilly.
Visitation was in Simkins Funeral Home, Morton Grove. Funeral Mass was celebrated on April 6 in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Skokie. Burial was in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles.

Agnes Beaulieu
Agnes (nee Ricca) Beaulieu, 94, of Niles died on March 16, 2001.
Preceded in death by her husband, Leo, she is survived by her children, Edmund (Gabriela) Beaulieu and Andrea (Richard) Anderson; and grandchildren, Michael, Thomas, John and Diego Beaulieu, Richard Anderson, Noreen Christianson and Jeanne Alanzo.
Funeral Mass was celebrated on March 20 in St. Isaac Jogues Church, Niles. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease Association.

Jerry Leavitt
Jerry Leavitt, 84, of Chicago, died Aug. 31, 2004 after a long illness. He was a former esident of Niles and Skokie.
He was a long-time salesman of restaurant and institutional supplies for Edward Don & Co. He also sold for Globe Services of Chicago, the Star Garter Co. and other firms. He co-owned and operated a ladies' undergarment factory in the 1940s.
He was a graduate of Chicago's Sullivan High School.
Survivors include his wife, Ritta, his daughter Lee (Justin) Lenahan; his son, Irwin (Helen Gallagher,) and three grandchildren.
Services were private.
Frances Schultz
Frances K. Schultz, 48, of Niles died on Sept. 1, 2004.
Mrs. Schultz was a teacher's aide for the Chicago Public Schools.
She is survived by her husband, David; daughters, Nicole (Ryan) Matyja, Tenele (Donald) Scheer and Becky (Dan) Supitlov; sisters, Arlene Kuby and Paula Scibor and brother, Ron (Dallas) Stancy.
Funeral service was conducted on Sept. 4 in Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, Niles. Burial was private.
Leslie Dickerhofe
Leslie A. Dickerhofe, 88, of Niles died on Sept. 14, 2003 in the Norwood Park Nursing Home.
Mr. Dickerhofe worked as a plant engineer for the Helene Curtis Co.
Preceded in death by his wife, Emmie, he is survived by his sons, Bruce (Jeannine) and Tom (Marcella); and grandchildren, Brad, Keith and Steve Dickerhofe and Christe Dickerhofe-Setter.

Born in Dublin, Ireland, Mr. O'Brien worked as a tool and die technician for A.B. Dick Co.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; children, Kathleen (Michael) Cozzi, Anthony (Nancy), Christopher (Cheryl) and John (Nancy) O'Brien; and grandchildren, Michael, Anthony, Nicholas Cozzi and Shannon O'Brien.

Estell Slesicki
Estell Slesicki, 87, of Niles died on Sept. 15, 2003 in Kindred-Lakeshore Hospital.
Preceded in death by her husbands, Nicholas Masching and Chester Slesicki, she is survived by her sons, Joseph (Marilyn) and Paul Masching; granddaughter, Tracy Willows; and brothers, Alex (Gerry) and Joseph (Norma) Jaroszewski.
