Velma L. Reitz (Stefanich) Nee Lardi
Age 89. At rest Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at home following a long illness. born in South Wilmington, IL and a resident of Joliet the past 70 years.
Survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Robert J. Reitz of Joliet. Her daughter Joan (Robert) McClintock of Joliet. Her son James (Olive) Stefanich of Joliet. Step-children Donna, Roberta, Robert and Becky. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her parents Batista and Marie Lardi. Her step-father Sam Ferrari. One son Ronald Stefanich, one grandson Robert McClintock, four brothers and three sisters.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Joliet Hospice Team for all their care and devotion.

George W. Schade
Age 86. At rest Sunday, March 3, 2002 at his late residence.
Survived by his beloved wife of 48 years Ann M. Nee Thomas. Loving father of George F. (Jaynee), James M. (Cathy) Schade. Step-daughter Anita (Late John) McGinnis. Step-son David W. (Sandra) Kusturin. Dearest grandfather of 22 and great-grandfather of 45. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his first wife Eileen Nee Anderson. Parents Godfreid and Katherine (Petroski) Schade. Sisters Elsi, Eleanor and Lillian. Brother Henry.
George was born in Chicago, residing there most of his life moving to Joliet in 2001. Retired from Tele Type Corp. George was an avid fisherman and hunter. In leiu of flowers contributions to Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated.

Age 78. Passed away peacefully at his son's home with his family by his side. Son of the late James and Joyce (Smith) Snodgrass. Former resident of Flat River, MO. A resident of Joliet since 1970. A career U. S. Army veteran, serving during WWII, Korea and two tours of duty in Vietnam, faithfully serving his Country for 29 years. A recipient of the Bronze Star. Retired from St. Joseph Hospital in 1986 as Assistant Head of Security following 17 years of service. Member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Life member of Cantigny Post VFW #367 and The Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #300.
Surviving is his wife of 15 years Frances (MacFarlane) Snodgrass of Joliet. Three sons Mark (Molly) Snodgrass of Joliet, Terrence (Teruyo) O'Brien of Hawaii and Bob McFarlane of Joliet, daughter-in-law, Sue (nee Hutton) Snodgrass. One daughter Rita (Jim) Paros. Grandchildren Amanda and Amelia Snodgrass, Brian and Kevin Paros, Dan, Kevin and Katie Snodgrass, Barb, Donna, Patrick and Pamela O'Brien. One brother, Toney (Barb) Snodgrass of St. Louis, MO, also survives.
Preceded in death by his first wife Aline Snodgrass (1981); his son, Ronald James Snodgrass (2000); brother Bill Snodgrass (1995) and his granddaughter, Curry Mae Snodgrass (1991).

Andrew Tordai Sr.
Age 87. Passed away Sunday, March 3, 2002 at his home in Elwood. born May 18, 1914 in Joliet, he was a lifelong, local grain and cattle farmer. Lifetime member of the Will County Farm Bureau.
Loving father of Andrew Jr. (Linda) Tordai of Elwood, Linda (Robert) Steffes of New Lenox, Richard (Diane) Tordai, Daniel (Debbie) Tordai both of Elwood and Sandra (Jim) Rousonelos of Minooka; beloved grandfather of 14. Also survived by one brother, Joseph Tordai of Elwood; two sisters, Mary (late Geza) Nemeth and Betty (late Walter) Sowa; one sister-in-law, Norma Tordai of Shorewood; and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his wife, Helen (nee Speva) Tordai (1979); his parents, Andrew and Elizabeth Tordai; one brother, Michael Tordai; one sister, Isabelle (Geza) Garnai and brother-in-law, George (Margie) Speva.

Charles Zaino, Sr.
Age 76, of Manteno died March 4, 2002.
Beloved father of Charles (Barbara), Jr., Edward, Peggy (Larry) Vaughn, Linda (Gordon) Link, Mary Merkel (Randy Verkler) and Joann Coats. Dear brother of Eleanor (Dale) Sullivan and Edward (Rosemary) Zaino. Dear grandfather of ten and great grandfather of one.
Charles was retired from Homewood Flossmor Park Dist. and City of Chicago, Dept. of Forestry.

Margaret Carnahan
Age 90, late of New Lenox, passed away peacefully at her residence March 5, 2002.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Carnahan; two brothers, Edward Pucel and Frank Pucel; and her sister, Dorothy Whitaker.
She is survived by her children, James (Kathleen) Carnahan, Judith (Michael) Mooney, Charlie Carnahan and Kathleen (Alastair) Whyte; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Jane Auth.
She was a devoted member of St. Jude Church since 1944, former president of St. Jude Altar and Rosary Society. She was an avid gardener and lover of nature.
Funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 AM from the Hickey Memorial Chapel, 442 E. Lincoln Hwy, New Lenox to St. Jude Church 10:30 AM Mass. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, 6:00 - 9:00 PM.

Age 58, of Joliet, IL, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at his home. born November 18, 1943 in Joliet.
Dan was a graduate of the Gardner South Wilmington High School. He was formerly employed at the Morris Paper Mill in Morris, IL. In earlier years, Dan was an avid bowler and had bowled on many leagues.
Surviving are his mother, Jane K. (nee Becker) McBride of Dwight, IL; four brothers, Charles (Carol) Cleveland of Seattle, WA, Michael (Esther) Cleveland of Chicago, IL, Glen McBride and Randall (LuAnne) McBride both of Joliet; two sisters, Diane (Don) Hollimon and Kathleen (David) Jury both of Dwight, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his father, Charles Cleveland and a sister, Mary Ann Cleveland.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A private family memorial service will be held at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., Braidwood Chapel, Monday, March 11, at 10:00 am with Rev. George Hendricks officiating.

Age 15. Our precious little angel is gone home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 5, 2002.
Survived by her loving mother Vicki (Pritchett) Curry (fiance Russ Panepinto) of Gardner; maternal grandfather Charles Pritchett. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by her father Lloyd Curry, paternal grandparents Lloyd and Rose Curry; maternal grandmother Twila Pritchett.
Born in Joliet, living in New Lenox most of her life. Lisa attended The United Cerebral Palsy School. Lisa touched the hearts of all who knew her and met her.

Age 92 years. Passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home. born in Joliet on March 9, 1910, she was a life-long resident.
Preceded in death by her husband, Leo (Former Co-owner of Lee's Super Mart); her son, Leo Jr.; her parents, Angelo and Caroline (nee Garavaglia) Pellegrini; and three brothers, Anthony, Charles and Emil Pellegrini.
Survived by her daughter, Lorraine (Bernard-deceased); a daughter-in-law, Betty Ann (Leo Jr.-deceased) Dwyer; seven grandchildren, Ken (Joan) Hailey, Patrick (Lynn) Hailey, William Hailey, Lynn Brandom, Michael (Gayle) Dwyer, Sandra Dwyer and David (Allison) Dwyer; four great-grandchildren, Brad Hailey, Erin Hailey, Michael Dwyer and Tony Dwyer.
