Lulu Margaret Horning (nee Harlan)
Age 95. Passed away Thursday, March 7, 2002 at the Caseyville Nursing Home in Caseyville, IL.
Mrs. Horning was born on May 24, 1906 to Ely and Orpha (Woodard) Harlan in Montgomery, MI. She retired in 1966 from the Department of the Army as Administrative Assistant of the Payroll Chief. A member of First Presbyterian Church in Joliet, IL, a former President of Women's Club. Lulu also worked for 19 years as Real Estate Housing Manager in LaVerne, CA.
She is survived by one grandson, Richard Horning of Granite City, IL; two granddaughters, Susan Wood of Collinsville, IL and Mary Margaret Horning of Colorado; three great-grandchildren Seth Halley, Alexandria Giovando and Jordon Horning.
Preceded in death by her husband, George Horning; her parents, Ely and Orpha Harlan; two sons, David and Thomas George Horning; three brothers, Clem and Gay Brown, and Ted Harlan.
There will no funeral services. Cremation was handled by the Herr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, (618)344-0187.
Suzanne T. Hutto
Age 66 years. died peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2002 surrounded by her family and friends at her home in Traverse City, MI after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born in Kalamazoo, MI on March 13, 1935, the daughter of Whitney B. and Esther (nee Brown) Talbott. She married Benjamin F. Hutto in 1976 in Charleston, SC.
Suzanne is survived by her husband, Benjamin; her children, Charles (Maureen) Vavrus, Jr., Michele (David) Krohn, Sandra (Zeljko) Devura and Holly Hutto; her grandchildren, Charles, Woody, Elise, David and Nathaniel Krohn; Cullan and Colette Vavrus; Niki and Mia Devura and Angelina Hutto; her mother, Esther B. Olson; two brothers, Whitney Talbott and David Talbott; her special friends, Suzanne Kosmerl, Mary Lou Hunt and Carolyn Miller.
Preceded in death by her father, Whitney B. Talbott.
A memorial service will be held at St. Francis Church in Traverse City on Thursday, March 7, at 10 am. Funeral Services will be held from the Westwood Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 9, 2002 at 9:15 am to St. Paul The Apostle Church for Mass at 10 am. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation at Westwood Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 8, 2002 from 4 to 9 pm.

Florence Jacobson (nee Warolin)
Age 80. Passed away peacefully at her residence in Minneapolis, MN, March 6, 2002.
30 year resident in Romeoville, IL. Avid music and church enthusiast. Piano teacher, and church organist for many years at Good Shephard Lutheran Church in Romeoville. Resided in Minneapolis for the last 4 1/2 years. Polio survivor, lover of life, and wonderful role model. Will be greatly missed by many.
Preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Hilda Warolin, her brother, Harold Warolin, her husband of 50 years Frank Jacobson.
Survived by her sister, Esther Olson, her son, Chuck (Jill) Jacobson, daughter, Gloria (Bob) Thompson, grandchildren, Erik (Tonya) Jacobson, Jen (Ron) Wellbaum, Krista (Eren) Siefert, Scot (Sherri) Thompson, Tonya (Andy) Szornyi and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at Walker Elder Suites Chapel in Minneapolis on Sunday, March 10, 2002. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Joliet at a later date.

Edward P. Kabat
Age 89. Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at Pine Acres Care Center, DeKalb. born in Joliet and a lifelong resident. Former owner and operator of Economy Supermarkets. A WWII Army Veteran. Serving under the command of Col. George Patton in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre. Recipient of the Bronze Star. Member of St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox. Member of the Old Timer's Baseball Association. An avid sports fan especially of the Chicago Cubs. Edward had to go to heaven to help the Cubs win the World Series.
Surviving is his loving daughter, Sharon (Alan) Baranowski of Elburn, IL. His sister, Dorothy (late Joseph) Pasdertz of Joliet. His brother, Jerome (Vern) Kabat of Joliet. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded by his wife of 50 years, Catherine (nee Kwasegroch) Kabat (1993). Parents, Peter and Rose Kabat. A brother, Ralph Kabat (1981), and a sister, Martha Bromberek (1999).
Funeral services for Edward P. Kabat will be Saturday, March 9, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon. Susan E. Kennedy
Passed away at her home in New York City on March 3, 2002, the day before her 53rd birthday.
Susan was born and raised in Joliet. She graduated from St. Francis Academy and Barat College in Lake Forest, IL. and received her Master's degree from Northwestern University. She moved to New York in 1979. She had her own consulting business for the theater and the arts.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, Robert, in 1987.
She is survived by her mother, Betty (nee Wilhelmi), an uncle, Mead Clark (Marian, dec.) of Joliet, and an aunt, Edna Lyons (Joe, dec.) of Springfield, IL. Special cousins Linda Schultz (James), Betsy Denewellis (Robert), Jeff Clark, all of Joliet and Richard Lyons (Barbara) of Springfield, IL. Many other cousins also survive.
There will be a memorial Mass on Saturday, March 9th at 11:30 am at St. Paul the Apostle Church.
Richard D. Naiden
Age 54. Suddenly Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at home. born in Joliet and a lifelong resident. Employed as a computer programmer. Formerly employed as a math teacher at Hammond High School in Hammond, IN.
Surviving is his sister, Sr. Jude Marie Naiden O.S.F. of Lemont. Five brothers, John (Linda) Naiden of Coal City, Dennis (Mary) Decman of Spring Grove, IL, Daniel (Lilian) Decman of California, Michael (Debbie) Decman of Joliet and Ken (Nancy) Decman of California. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his father, John Naiden. His mother, Helen (nee Skoff) Decman. Stepfather, Frank Decman.

Ronald Anthony Senesac
Passed away March 7, 2002 at his home. He was born June 29, 1916 in Manteno, Illinois. He was a carpenter. He was also a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ and Frankfort Lions Club. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Verna (nee Weichbrodt); sons, Stephen (Jane) of Frankfort, IL, and Daniel (Dawn) of New Lenox, IL; his daugher, Katy (Al) Carlson of State College, PA; and eleven grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 10, 2002 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Gerardi Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, 2002 at 10 a.m. at St. Peters United Church of Christ in Frankfort, IL. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.

Dearest grandmother of Pam (Tom) Tezak, George (Regina) Block, Ken Block, Beth (Doug) Hucek, Tom and Ron Block, Christina (Tod) Daum, Rachel (Mark) Bialko, Raymond C. Jr. (Terri) Crotty, Michael (Denise) Crotty and 13 great grandchildren. Her sister, Magdalen (Adam-deceased) Karpen and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Also her beloved dog, Tisha. Her caregivers, Lori Senior, RN and Sue Petrek, CNA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo C. Andrews (1971); parents, Martin and Rose (nee Klen) Garbas; two sisters, Helen (Walter-deceased) Stanick and Josephine (Joseph-deceased) Saye; two brothers, John and Vandy Garbas; and six brothers and sisters in infancy.
Justine was born in Joliet and a life long resident. Retired from the Joliet Arsenal and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Joliet Area Community Hospice or St. Patrick's Church would be appreciated.

Age 56, late of Lockport, suddenly Friday, March 8, 2002. born in Chicago, living in the Lockport/Romeoville area for over 25 years. Employed by United Air Lines as a Lead Ramp Serviceman for 18 years. Former member of the Romeoville Fire Department.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon S. (nee Putkonen); his parents; and a special aunt, Kate.
Survived by his wife, Patricia (nee Anderson). His children, Michael (Mechelle Rowland), Tara, Ed (Chris) Vondras, Debbie Taylor and Darlene (Gordon, fiance) Vondras; a grandson, Lenny Vincent. Brother-in-law, Ralph Anderson. Numerous friends also survive.
