John Lee Patrick Sr.
Born in Weir, Mississippi on May 21, 1949 to the proud parents of Houston Patrick and Minnie Paine. He was employed with Caterpillar Tractor Company, Joliet Plant for 32 1/2 years, retiring in January 2001. He accepted Christ several years ago. He attended New Life Christian Fellowship Church under the Pastorialship of Pastors Victor and Glenda McCullum.
He is preceded in death by his father, Houston Patrick and mother, Minnie Paine. John leaves to mourn his loving wife, Carolyn Patrick; two children, Tenisha LaShan Patrick, John Lee (Nicole) Patrick Jr.; grandchildren, Asia Patrick, Briana Cierra Davis, John Lee Patrick III, Deja' Patrick, Talisha Jackson, Brittney Davis; five brothers and six sisters, Robert (Arlene) Patrick, Dennis (Paris) Patrick, David (Diane) Patrick, Lawrence (Annette) Patrick, James Patrick, Georgia (Paul) Hannah, Dorothy Yates, Rose Patrick, Annette Patrick, Brenda Patrick, Darlene (Eric) Banks; devoted, loving cousins, Ellen Miller, Sabina Veasy; best friends, Billy Ray Barrett, James (Gwen) Prater, Willie Sellar, Kerry Ross, Marie Lump, Edwina Covington; loving, devoted mother-in-law, Bennie Mae Gavin. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at the New Life Christian Fellowship Church, 308 Midland Ave., Joliet, IL at 7:00 PM with Pastors Victor and Glenda McCullum officiating. Visitation Tuesday 5-7 PM at the church. Interment Wednesday, June 20 at 10:00 AM at the Elmhurst Cemetery.

Age 80, late of Romeoville, Friday, June 15, 2001. born in Indianapolis, IN. Living in Romeoville for 40 years. Was employed by Hoof Products for 39 years retiring in 1969. Member of Slovianian National Society Indianapolis Lodge. World War II veteran.
Preceded in death by his wife, Mildred "Millie" nee Morrison, his parents, Anthony and Mary nee Setina Perkne; a brother, Anthony; a sister, Mitzi Rhinehart; and a grandchild, Stevens.
Survived by two sons, James A. Sr (Lolly) and Louis F. Jr, (Carol), both of Romeoville; eight grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and a great great grandson. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Leona L. Quigley (nee Hartman)
Age 94. Thursday, June 14, 2001 at Embassy Care Center in Wilmington. born in Joliet and a lifetime resident.
Survived by her son, Ronald (Jean, nee Krupinski) Quigley of Wilmington, IL; grandchildren, Stephen (Becky) Quigley, Richard (Nancy) Quigley both of Wilmington, Norma Wilm of Kankakee, Patricia (Marvin) Lemke of Braidwood and Paul Quigley of Reedsburg, WI; great-grandchildren, Josh and Travis Quigley; Brian Quigley; Ronald Wilm; Rachel and Russell Cohen; Jennifer and Katlin Lemke; two great great-grandchildren, Jacob and Kailey; one brother, William (Jenny) Hartmann of Joliet; two sisters, Loretta Hartmann of Missouri and Lucille Johnson of Wisconsin. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death her husband, Henry Quigley; daughter, Lois Quigley; grandson, David Quigley.

Mary Lee Walsh
Age 65. born November 22, 1935 in Franklin, LA to Mr. and Mrs. Ivory and Charity Williams. She departed this life on Sunday, June 10, 2001 at Silver Cross Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Walsh Sr. (Oct. 1999); her parents, Ivory and Charity Williams; both paternal and maternal grandparents and three brothers.
She is survived by her children, five sons, James Jr. (Katherine) of Joliet, IL, Robert (Marlene) of New Orleans, LA, John Wayne, Martin Moore and Johnny (Evelyn) Walsh, all of Joliet, IL; eight daughters, Rosie (Johnny) Baker, Serena (Keith) Walsh, Wilma Brown, Sylvia Walsh, Deatrich Walsh and Shirley Walsh, all of Joliet, IL, Valerie Walsh and Joyce Moore of Kankakee, IL; 47 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Williams of Franklin, LA; dear and close friends, Lucille Kelly, Mattie Newell and Denise Griffin and a host of other relatives and friends.

Age 84, late of Lockport, suddenly Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at his late residence. born in Lockport, life long resident.
Employed by UNOCAL for 40 years, retiring in 1980. Member of Lockport Moose Lodge #1557 and Lockport Golf Club.
Preceded in death by a son, Robert; his parents, Edward and Kathryn (O'Brien) Young; four brothers, William, Joseph, Charles & Albert; and two sisters, Margaret Miller, and Marie McGroarty.
Survived by his wife, Irene (nee Lindstrom); one daughter, Barbara (Neil) Moore of WI; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Young of Lockport; six grandchildren, Nancee Krause, Thomas (Rose) Krause, Jim (Julie) Young, Jerry Young, John Young and Joel Young; six great grandchildren, Jacob, Andrew and Sarah Krause, Bailey Ann and Alison Young, and Lauren Werth; one sister, Lois (Bob) Garman of Joliet. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Joseph Church, Lockport or Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church, Lockport would be appreciated. At Edward's request, he will be cremated.

Survived by her mother, Lisa M. Tucker and father, Darius D. Berry; grandparents, Ricky (Christine) Tucker, Princess Berry, all of Joliet; and Jerry Thomas of LA. Great grandparents, Robert and Patricia Ward, William and Carol Newman. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by great uncles, Terry and Charles Tucker, Ronnie Berry, and Michael Mecer.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 20, 2002 at 12:00 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Thursday 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Nicholas J. Briscoe
Nicholas J. Briscoe, 79 years of age of Minooka, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2002 in the Morris Hospital.
Born March 31, 1923 in Minooka, he was the son of the late Nicholas P. and Anna (Kelly) Briscoe. He was raised and educated in the Minooka area. A World War II Veteran, he served form 1943-1946 with the United States Navy in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations. Most of his life Nick farmed in the rural Minooka area. On June 21, 1946 he married Edna Lampman in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Minooka. All of their married life they lived in the Minooka area. Nick was a member of St. Mary's Church, and the Grundy and Will County Farm Bureau.
He is survived by his eleven children, N. Gene (Judy) Briscoe of Minooka, Ann (Warren) Chandler of Gooselake, Patricia (Bobby) Harvey of Louisiana, Donna (Jack) Thompson of Missouri, Dorma (Donald) Kooyenga of Morris, Mary (fiance, Timothy Grinkey) Briscoe of Jacksonville, John (Tammy) Briscoe of Louisiana, Pamela (Perry) Helton of Braidwood, Robert (Ruth) Briscoe of Mazon, Michael (Linda) Briscoe, and Terry (Brenda) Briscoe both of Channahon; 31 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 17, 2002 at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Minooka. Reverend Father Mark Fracaro officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday from 4-8 PM at Reeves Funeral Home in Morris. Preferred memorials are gifts in Nick's memory to his family for a later donation to the Morris Hospital Foundation.

Loving mother of Victor (Barbara), Leonard (Bonnie), Paul, Richard (Sue) Cervantes, Marie (Al) Albert, David (Donna) Cervantes and daughter-in-law, Noreen (late Stephen) Cervantes. Dearest grandmother of 14 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Six brothers, Raymond, Guadalupe Jr, Robert, Andrew, Alvino and Gus Gusman. Three sisters, Juanita Baron, Julia Hardy and Gloria Samolinski.
Preceded by her husband, Primitivo Cervantes; a son, Stephen; her parents, Guadalupe and Dolores (nee Tinoco) Gusman; and a brother, Trinidad Gusman.

Proud grandfather of Tommy, Katelyn, Cecilia and Alexis. Dearest mother, Betty (nee Ospalik) (late Thomas) Cerven; a brother, Robert (Mary Ann) Cerven; father-in-law, Peter (late Frances) Kristich; brother-in-law, Ralph (late Patricia) Offerman. Also brothers and sister-in-law, Mary Fran (Bill) Battin, Perry (Mary Ann) Kristich and Jim (Cathy) Kristich. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his father, Thomas Cerven; and a sister, Patricia Offerman.
Thomas was born in Joliet, resided in Crest Hill for the past 33 years and Coal City area for the past 5 years. Retired from Electro-Motive, LaGrange after 40 years of service. Former member of the Crest Hill Planning Commission, was a Lector at St. Anne Church and was an avid fan of Minooka Youth Baseball and Basketball.
