Age 18 of Joliet, IL. born November 15, 1983, departed this life on Wednesday, June 19, 2002.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Reuben Arthur Sr., one aunt, Mildred Thompson and paternal grandmother, Clara Marie White.
She is survived by her mother; Marceline Arthur, father, Vernon (MaryAnn) White, grandmother, Emma Dee Arthur of Joliet, IL, paternal grandfather, Clarence (Annie Mae) Edward of Ypsilanti, Michigan and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2002 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home and 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at St. Mark C.M.E. Church, 348 S. Joliet St., Joliet, IL. Service will follow at 8:00 p.m., Pastor Stephen D. Deloney officiating. Interment Friday, June 28, 2002 10:00 a.m. at Elmhurst Cemetery.

Sister M. Emilita Chuba
Of the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate. died at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, Joliet, IL, on Sunday, June 23, 2002, at the age of 91. In religious life for 74 years. Originally of Johnstown, PA, daughter of George and Teresa (Rebar) Chuba (both deceased). Sister Emilita is survived by her brother Val (Marilyn) Chuba, and sisters Betty Peterchack, Clara Kwarta and Marge Chorba, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sister Emilita ministered in Food Service for 55 years, including St. Francis Convent, St. Francis Academy, and for 20 years at the College of St. Francis.
Wake at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, 1201 Wyoming Avenue, Joliet, IL, on Thursday, June 27, 2002, from 2-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial at 7 p.m. Burial will be from Our Lady of Angels at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2002, to Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville, IL. Laura E. Conroy (nee Nonnie)
Age 93. Monday, June 24, 2002 at Provena Villa Franciscan.
Survived by two sons, Frank J. (Jean) and Ray (Rosemary) Conroy. Eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Dryer; and a brother, Lawrence "Butch" Santini.
Preceded in death by her husband, Frank Conroy; and her parents, Lorenzo and Orsolina (Santini) Nonnie.
Born in Cardif, IL, a Joliet resident most of her life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Angels. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Minooka. Visitation Wednesday morning 9 AM until time of Mass. Memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice or Our Lady of Angels would be appreciated.

Nellie Jo Harris (nee McGee)
Of Manhattan, age 58, died Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at her home. Ending her battle with cancer, she went to be with her Lord and Savior in heaven to join her late husband James Chester Harris (1-3-93).
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy McGee of Manhattan; one son, James S. "Steve" Harris of Joliet; two daughters, Susan L. (Phillip) Fosnaugh of Manhattan and Mary K. (Rick) Vera of California. Seven grandchildren, Amy, Stephanie and Kelli Harris, Christina and Phillip Fosnaugh and Jessica and Nickolas Vera. One great grandson, Andrew Harris, son of Stephanie Harris. Two brothers, Wallace "Bill" (Nedra) McGee of Elwood and David Earl McGee of California. One sister, Shirley (Robert) Hayes of Elwood. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her father, William McGee.
Nellie was devoted to her family and friends and enjoyed dining out and traveling. She was a member of the Ridgewood Baptist Church in Joliet.
Funeral Services for Nellie Jo Harris will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 28, 2002 at the Forsythe Funeral Chapel, 320 Eastern Ave., Manhattan. Pastors Dr. Bert Baker and Jack Newberry will both officiate. Interment Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery, Monee. Visitation Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Memorials to Joliet Area Hospice would be most appreciated. Nellie's family would like to thank everyone who gave of their time and prayers throughout this trial, and want all to know that God has Amazing Grace.

Age 70. Monday, June 24, 2002 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. A graduate of St. John Grade School and Joliet Catholic High School Class of 1950. Retired from Sheffield Steel after over 35 years of service in 1998. Formerly employed by Powers-Thompson Construction Company for over 18 years. A member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #300 and the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #296. A lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Preceded by his father Alfred Hirsch.
Survived by his loving wife of 48 years, married June 26, 1954, Jean D. Hirsch of Joliet. Three children Terri (James) Lang of Coal City, IL, Linda (Ed Fitzgerald) Stewart of Charlotte, NC and Joe Hirsch of Shorewood. His beloved mother Marie Hirsch of Joliet. Eight grandchildren Brianna, Renee and Whiteny Lang; Daniel and Amanda Stewart; Joseph, Tyler and Ryan Hirsch. One great granddaughter Hailey Hirsch. Two sisters Sr. Jacqueline Hirsch O.F.M. of Boca Raton, FL and Rita (James) Kubalewski of Shorewood, IL. One brother Robert (Linda) Hirsch of Ballwin, MO. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for James A. Hirsch will be Friday, June 28, 2002 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home for a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Richard A. Jones
Age 52 years, died Saturday, June 22, 2002 at Arcadia Methodist Hospital, Arcadia, CA. born in Joliet. Educated in the Joliet Public Schools.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Louise Jones, one sister, Juanita and two brothers, Robert and Manuel Jones. He is survived by his father, Robert L. Jones, Sr. of Pasadena, CA; two sisters, Barbara (Benny) Sims and Ardis (Don) Burroughs, both of Joliet, IL; two brothers, Carl (Sharon) Jones of Joliet and Lee Jones of Los Angeles, CA, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 28, 2002, 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at the Minor-Morris Funeral Home, 112 Richards Street, Joliet, IL. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Bennie Yarbough officiating. Interment at Elmhurst Cemetery.

James D. Londergon
Born in Joliet on March 26, 1927, passed away suddenly at home on June 24, 2002.
Survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Marilyn (Peterson) Londergon; devoted children, Jill (Chris) Pristach, Don (Kathy) and David Londergon; three cherished grandchildren, Jacob and Anna Pristach and Lucy Londergon.
Preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Londergon; parents, Joseph and Elva (DeFillippi) Londergon.
Jim was a World War II Navy veteran. He was president of the family business, Blue Ribbon Products Co. for 35 years and active in the company for over 50 years. Member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #382, Joliet Moose Lodge #300, Irving A.C., Eastside A.C., Young Americans Club, Stone City Post #2199 V.F.W. and Rivals. Coached and Manager for St. Joseph Little League Baseball. He was an all around athlete and enjoyed golf in his later years. Jim was a good, loving man and was very well respected in the community.
Funeral from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home Thursday, June 27, 2002 at 9:30 AM to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Interment Mt. Age 76, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2002 in Arcadia, FL.
Born July 25, 1925 in Cap De La Madeleine, Canada.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mona Marois.
He is survived by his children; Diane and her husband Jean Pierre, Sylvie, Raymond, Carmen and her husband Luc; and his grandchildren, Liliane, Martin, Melissa, Marjolaine, Stephane, Simon, Helene and Chantal.
Funeral services will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel on Saturday, June 29, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. Fr. James Schwab presiding. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Thursday, June 27th, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday, June 28th, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Starr Lynn McCarthy (nee Tucker)
Age 41. Monday, June 24, 2002 at her late residence, following a courageous battle with cancer. A lifelong Joliet area resident. Employed by Lab Corp and Quest Diagnostics as a Phlebotomist.
Preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Bonnie (nee Glenn) Tucker.
Survived by her loving husband, Thomas J. McCarthy Jr.; one son, Steven Allen Tucker; two daughters, Misty Lynn (Edward) Stastny and Samantha Lynn McCarthy, all of Joliet; six grandchildren; two brothers, James (Lisa) and John Tucker, both of Huntington Beach, CA; six sisters, Jeanne (Bob) Kubinski of Mattoon, IL, Carole King of Gardendale, AL, Mary Williams of Clarksville, TN, Marcia Williams of Joliet, Pat (Jerry) Ristau of Joliet and Diane (Jim) Yonkers of Michigan. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Special thanks to all those who were there for Starr during her time of need.

Dr. Gerald L. McShane (Doc)
Age 79, of Coal City, passed away Monday, June 24, 2002 at Deerbrook Care Center in Joliet. He was born on August 12, 1922 in Kinsman, IL.
Gerald practiced Optometry for over 53 years and was a member of the American Optometry Association; he was also a member of The Knights of Columbus and the Dwight Country Club. He served in the 100th Airdrome SQ in the army and was a WWII Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores (Penny) McShane; two daughters, Kathleen (Terry) Webb and Sharon (Mark) Enger; a son, Jerry McShane Jr.; a brother, Kenneth (Betty) McShane (Ozzie); a sister, Margaret McHale; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Earl and Alice McShane; and a brother, Earl McShane Jr.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 27, 2002 from Ferrari Funeral Services at 9:30 AM to The Assumption Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Rev. Steven Bondi will officiate, with interment in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 PM at Ferrari Funeral Services in Coal City.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerald's name to The Assumption Church Building Fund.
