Alan C. Ferry, Sr.
Of Joliet, went home to be with the Lord, June 30, 2001. Age 65 years.
Survived by his wife, Virginia Ferry (nee Baitinger); a son, Alan C. (Lori) Ferry, Jr. of Channahon; a daughter, Alana M. Ferry of Joliet; his mother, Ruth E. Ferry of Joliet; three grandchildren, McKenna Ferry, Justin Forristal-Ferry and Jillian Forristal-Ferry.
Preceded in death by his father, Joseph Ferry (1981).
Born September 15, 1935 in Springfield, IL. Alan served in the U.S. Air Force, he was a bricklayer by trade and sold real estate in the Joliet area for 25 years. He was co-founder of the Joliet Area Historical Society and enjoyed architectural history and preservation. Alan came into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ at the age of 35 and served the Lord at Faith Bible Church through bus ministry, Sunday school teacher and board member. He was a devoted son and husband, a committed and loving father and grandfather.
Lying in state at Faith Bible Church, 1600 Schuster Ave., Friday, July 6 from 9:30 A.M. until time of services at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Gerald Watson officiating. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park at 2:00 P.M. Friday. Memorials to Faith Bible Church or the Christian Youth Center's Lend a Hand Ministry will be appreciated. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Thursday from 2-8 P.M. Services conducted by Gerald L. Dames- Associate Director with:

Loretta M. Murphy
Age 95. Monday, July 2, 2001 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center.
Survived by sisters, Mary Mulvihill and Dorothy Butterbach; nieces, Lois Walsh, Judy Gannon, Elizabeth Kahler and Patricia Ann Lesh; nephews, Edward Walsh, Richard Butterbach and James Butterbach. Numerous great-nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elizabeth (Dolan) Murphy; brothers, Daniel (a WWII Seabee), Francis, James Joseph in infancy, and Charles Murphy; sisters, Elizabeth A. Murphy and Lucille Walsh; brothers-in-law, John Mulvihill and Lester Butterbach.
Born in Joliet on March 14, 1906, lifelong resident. Graduated in the second graduating class from St. Raymond's School in 1920, St. Francis Academy in 1924 and Joliet Junior College in 1926. Loretta has graduated from, and earned many degrees from, various institutions throughout her life, including The College of St. Francis; University of Illinois; Masters degrees from University of Chicago and Illinois State University. Taught for many years in Joliet Grade School District #86. A 25-year volunteer for the American Red Cross in First Aid instruction, sponsor of the Joliet Grade Schools Jr. Red Cross. Member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, St. Paul's CCW and Who's Who of American Women.
Funeral will be held Friday, July 6, 2001 from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the funeral at the funeral home from 9-10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Loretta Murphy Scholarship fund at Joliet Catholic Academy would be appreciated.

Catherine M. Orosco "Kay"
Age 79, Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at her home in New Lenox after a long illness.
Survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Paul K. Orosco; three daughters, Marie Wilson, Mrs. Rachel (Richard) Young, Andrea (Dean) Hubbard; two sons, Paul A. (Pat) Orosco, Andy Orosco; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one sister, Nati Cortez.
Born in Joliet, living in New Lenox since 1964.
Member of the VFW Auxiliary, St. Jude Church, C.C.W., was women of the year at St. Jude Church, die-hard Cub fan, and active in various senior organizations.
Preceded in death by a sister, Petra Eggers, and her parents.
Family will receive friends at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, Cedar at Francis Roads, Thursday 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services Friday, July 6, 2001, 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel to St. Jude Church for a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. Memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the St. Jude Church Building fund would be appreciated.

Freda P. Redman (Leeman)
Age 92, Tuesday, July 3, 2001, Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet. Late of New Lenox.
Survived by one daughter, Ferol Redman; one son, Gary (Marie) Redman; and two grandsons, Michael Redman and Geoffrey Redman.
Born in Perry, KS, living in New Lenox for the past 63 years.
Preceded in death by her husband, George Redman, and her parents, Robert and Mae (Plummer) Leeman.
Services will be held Thursday, July 5, 2001, 10:00 a.m. at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, Cedar at Francis Roads. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.

Peter P. Semplinski
Age 83. No more suffering, God has taken him home Monday, July 2, 2001.
Survived by his wife, Lucille (Olejniczak) Semplinski; son, Paul (Carolyn) Semplinski; daughter, Donna (Don) Kiss; loving grandfather of Natalie (Rob) Chose, Carole (Eric) Kassel and Paula (Chris) Gallt; great-grandfather of Jake Semplinski; brother, Anthony (Betty Lou) Semplinski; sister, Rose Muraowski; sisters-in-law, Stella and Josephine Semplinski, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Elizabeth (Kijowski) Semplinski; brothers, John, Stanley and Frank Semplinski; sisters, Helen Baloy, Sophie (Louis) Misic, and Mary (Walter) Kamien.
Born in Joliet, lifelong area resident. WWII Marine Veteran, serving in the Philippines and China. Retired member of the Musicians Union. Peter was an established entertainer on the Polka circuit and was known as "Crazy Otto." Member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rockdale, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society.
Funeral will be Friday, July 6, 2001 from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rockdale for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 3-7 p.m.

Born in Joliet living in Florida since 1979. Retired in 1970 from Joliet Arsenal. Former member of St. John Lutheran Church, N.A.R.F.E. and past State President of the Lutheran Church Women.
Funeral services will be held Friday July 13, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home with Rev. Linda Jones officiating. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery. Visitation Friday 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorials to St. John Lutheran Church would be appreciated.

Survived by her son Dean; grandson James (Sherry) Simmons; five great-grandchildren, Stacy, Courtney, Brittany, Derek, & Dalton; sister Florence Mindock; and daughter-in-law Nelda Casey. Also survived by nieces and nephew.
Born in Hennepin, IL, living in Lockport since 1941.
Preceded in death by her husband Elmer; son Darrell; parents Frank and Maryann Mindock; four sisters, Annie, Edna, Grace, and Martha; and three brothers Hank, Russell, and Everett.
Family will receive friends at the Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton St. Thursday 4-8 p.m. Services will be Friday, July 13, 2001 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gil Palmer officiating. Interment Mt. Vernon Memorial Estates.

Age 47, died July 10, 2001. Late of Frankfort. Founder/Owner of Royce Group Staffing Agency in Frankfort.
Survived by her daughter Anna Fondriest; one son Edward Pruesser; parents Juanita and Nick Adduci; three brothers Mike (Becky) Craven, Jim (Carla) Craven, Donald Craven; two sisters Kathy (John) Day, Connie (Rob) LaRotonda; step-sisters Pam (Dave) Daniels, Mary Beth (Matt) Weldon; step-aunt Grace Adduci; nephews John, Matt, Luke and Sam Craven, John Day; nieces Emily, Alaine, and Suzie LaRotonda, Peggy Mark, Carly and Rita Craven, Traci and Michael Ksiazak; step-nephews David Daniels, Henry and Jack Weldon; and step-niece Maggie Daniels.
She was preceded in death by her father John Craven.
She was born September 25, 1953. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Frankfort, a board member of the Harris Bank, Frankfort, the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce and Prestwick Country Club.
Funeral Mass Friday 11:30 am. at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Frankfort. Visitation Thursday, 2-9 p.m. at Gerardi Funeral Home.
