Antonio Santini
Antonio Santini, 74, a 45-year resident of Highland Park, died Feb. 22 in Highwood.
Mr. Santini was born May 20, 1926 in Marostica, Italy.
Survivors include his son, Robert (Geri) Santini of Buffalo Grove; his three grandchildren; and his siblings, Antonietta, Maria and Egidio, all of Italy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Speranza.
Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home. Interment was private. Donations may be made to Highland Park Health Care Center, 50 Pleasant Ave., Highwood, IL 60040.
Caroline W. Pehan
Caroline W. Pehan, 85, of Vernon Hills, formerly of Highland Park, died Feb. 23 in Highland Park. She was born Jan. 30, 1916 in St. Louis, Mo. She was a member of Immaculate Conception.
Survivors include her children Michael J. (Nancy) Pehan of Aurora and Lynn (Richard) Harris of Vernon Hills; grandchildren Kimberly Pehan of Aurora, Ted (Sandra) Zagnoli III of Gurnee, Lisa (Craig) Zagnoli-Uglinica of Vernon Hills, Michelle Pehan of Aurora, Michael Pehan of Aurora, Robert Harris of Vernon Hills, and Richard Harris of Gurnee; great grandchildren Kori, Tara, Nicholas, Tyler and Erica; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Michael; parents John and Isabelle Weber; sisters Isabelle Sasgen, Evelyn Brown, Rosemarie Torkelson; and brother John Weber; granddaughter Amy Lynn Harris.
Funeral services were held Feb. 27 at Immaculate Conception, Highland Park. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, 30 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 2015, Chicago, IL. 60602. Funeral services were handled by Kelley and Spalding Funeral Home, Highland Park.
Thomas E. Giaimo
Thomas E. Giaimo, 85, of Highland Park died Feb. 23, 2001.
Mr. Giaimo was born Dec. 25, 1915 in Forest Park, Ill. He was a police officer for the Highland Park Police Department for 14 years.
Survivors include his children, Donna (Joseph) Falzone of Highland Park, Barbara (the late Harold) Nelson of Highwood, Thomas A. Giaimo of Waukegan and James W. Giaimo of Highland Park; his nine grandchildren; his 12 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Margaret (Edward) Knaff and Alice (Daniel) Obriot.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine.
Funeral services were held Feb. 28 at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment was in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. Donations may be made to the Baptist Retirement Home, 316 Randolph, Maywood, IL 60153.
Virginia Glass
Virginia Carrigan Glass, 83, a homemaker from Deerfield, died Feb. 19, 2001 at her home.
Mrs. Glass was born Aug. 16, 1917 in Springfield, Ill. A Niles resident for more than 20 years, she was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Glass Jr.
She is survived by her sons, John (Sandra) and Rev. Bob C.S.B., Tim (Marie McCarthy) and Richard (Carolyn); two daughters, Mary Patt (Jeff Georgevich) Glass and Meg (Dan) Georgevich; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation was held Feb. 22 at N.H. Scott & Hebblethwaite Funeral Home, Glenview. A funeral Mass was offered Feb. 23 at St. Isaac Jogues. Interment was in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Basilian Fathers, 9600 Stears Ave., Oakland, CA. 94605-4707.
Morley Hersh
Morley Hersh, 72, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, at his home in Northbrook.
Mr. Hersh was born Jan. 11, 1929 in McKeesport, Pa. He was the former owner of Wesley’s Restaurant in Skokie.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene, nee Cloobeck, of Northbrook; his sons, Jeffery (Donna) of Deerfield and Neil (Kay) of Berlin, Wis.; his daughter, Andrea (Harvey) Cohen of Highland Park; six grandchildren, Juliana, Jordan, Michelle, Leanne and Clayton Hersh and Jenna Cohen; and three sisters, Rose (Larry) Levinson, Hannah (the late David) Nitka and Dorothy (the late Eli) Cohen. Mr. Hersh was preceded in death by his sister, Lillian (Albert) Bell.
Services were held Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Weinstein Family Services Chapel, Wilmette. Interment was in Westlawn Cemetery, Chicago. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 820 Davis St., Evanston IL 60201.
Louise Miklautsch
Louise Miklautsch, 86, of Minocqua, Wis. died Feb. 18, 2001 at Riverview Rehabilitation Center, Tomahawk, Wis.
Mrs. Miklautsch was born May 17, 1914 in Rib Lake to Peter and Anna Fuchs. On Oct. 14, 1936 she married William Miklautsch at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Mrs. Miklautsch, along with her husband, owned and operated a dairy farm in the Wood Lake area until they moved in 1964 to Highland Park. At that time, she took a position as a housekeeper for a private residence. She later was employed by Highland Park Hospital.
In 1999, Mrs. Miklautsch moved from Highland Park to Minocqua.
She was a very active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, was a Catechism Teacher for many years and was a member of the Christian Mothers as well. She enjoyed reading and flower gardens and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son, Thomas (Mimi) Miklautsch of Minocqua; her daughters, Margie (Clarence) Kropp of Athens, Wis., Louise (Donald) Dassow of Big Bend, Wis. and Billie (Curtis) Taylor of Highland Park; her 16 grandchildren; her 17 great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Miklautsch of Highland Park; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William on April 2, 1973; her son, Peter on Oct. 1, 1983 and by 14 siblings.
Mass of the Christian Burial was held Feb. 23 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake. Memorials may be made to the new Rib Lake Library Childrens Book Section.
Hildegard Bergau
Funeral services for Palatine resident Hildegard Bergau, 85, were held Feb. 26, 2001 at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, Arlington Heights. born Oct. 28, 1915, in Berlin, Germany, she died Feb. 22, 2001 at Lexington of Schaumburg Health Center.
Mrs. Bergau is survived by two sons, Dennis (Mary Ann) of Palatine and George of Hoffman Estates; grandchildren Dennis M. of Palatine, Jeffrey A. (Amy) of Lake in the Hills and Jami of Mundelein; and a great-grandchild, Cameron.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Helmut; and a sister, Deta Rosin.
Interment was in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
Brian P. Nozicka Muldoon
Brian P. Nozicka Muldoon, 28, of Arlington Heights, died April 2, 2006 at his home.
He was born Jan, 30, 1978 in Park Ridge.
Mr. Muldoon was a 1996 graduate of Deerfield High School, a graduate of the Art Institute of Phoenix. He recently attended Harper and Oakton Community Colleges.
Survivors include his parents, Beverly A. (Dave) Nozicka and Michael J. (Cindy) Muldoon; his siblings, Scott and Brad Nozicka and Kelsey, Meghan and Kyle Muldoon; and his grandparents, Angeline Miles, Elaine Muldoon and Maryann Nozicka.
Mass was held on April 6 at Our Lady of the Wayside Church, Mt. Prospect.
Memorials may be made to the family.

Thomas F. Zahnle
Thomas F. Zahnle, 91, a 59 year resident of Deerfield, died at his home on March 18, 2006.
He was born on March 26, 1914 in Highland Park.
Mr. Zahnle spent much of his childhood in Grayslake on the family dairy farm. After graduating from Libertyville High School, he attended Eastern Illinois State Teacher's College where he was enrolled in many industrial arts classes.
In 1941 he married Muriel Lemm and they settled in Deerfield in 1947.
An interest in aviation led him to obtain a license to fly small aircraft and to work during World War II years as a licensed aircraft and engine mechanic at Douglas Aircraft Company and at Sky Harbor Airport in Northbrook.
After the war, Mr. Zahnle utilized his ability and interest in wood working in his employment. Through his retirement years he continued to bring his skills to cabinetry, carpentry and furniture restoration projects.
He was active in his community, supporting his son's Boy Scout Troop 153, a longtime member of the Chicago Botanic Gardens, he spent more than five of those years as a volunteer working in the Enabling Garden and other related outreach activities.
He served as a Election Judge for 14 years during his retirement. A member of Holy Cross Church in Deerfield, he was an usher for over 50 years.
In the early 1970's he began cycling and rode hundreds of miles locally and in other states.
He was a member and past president of the Wheeling Wheelmen. Music was one of his joys. He played the violin in his high school and college orchestras and participated with his wife in the local round and square dance club and he supported his children's musical activities.
Mr. Zahnle shared his love of flight with his children and grandchildren through the kites he made as well as the wooden toys that he crafted.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Muriel; his children, Doris Zahnle, Mark (Belinda) Zahnle, Karen (John) Cliffe and Nancy (Timothy) Crawford; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Frank Zahnle; his brother, Jack and; his grandchildren, Amie and Alex Zahnle and Shonna Cliffe.
Mass was held March 22 at Holy Cross Church, Deerfield with interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Highland Park.

Candida Picchietti
Candida Picchietti (nee Bernardi), 92, of Deerfield, formerly of Highland Park died March 26, 2006.
She was born March 9, 1914 in Sanna Pelago, Italy.
Survivors include her children, Filiberto (Martha), Yvonne (Frank) Pasquesi and Enrico Picchietti; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Teresina Pieracci of Italy; and two sister-in-laws Caterina Bernardi and Rosina Bernardi.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Fortunato, Gino and Adolfo Bernardi.
A funeral Mass was held on March 29 at the Immaculate Conception Church with Interment in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
Funeral arrangements were made by Kelley and Spalding Funeral Home.
Harold Trestenjak
Harold G. Trestenjak of Buffalo Grove and a former 24-year resident of Deerfield, died April 2 in Highland Park. He was 83.
Mr. Trestenjak was born Nov. 1, 1917 in Chicago. He was the owner of Advertising Design Associates in Northfield until his retirement in 1990. Survivors include his wife, Lily; his children, Douglas Trestenjak of Buffalo Grove and Patty (Russ) Breazeale of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; and one granddaughter, Lauren Breazeale of Mt. Pleasant.
A memorial service was held April 7 at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home in Highland Park. Interment was private. In lieu flowers, donations to the First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield, 824 Waukegan Road, Deerfield, IL 60015, in his memory would be appreciated.
Richard Brescia
Richard A. Brescia, formerly of Highland Park, died March 23, 2001 of complications from lung cancer. He died in his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Brescia is survived by his wife, Judy Brescia; and a combined family of eight children, 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
An inspiration to his family and friends, he spent the last year of his life preparing those who loved him for his death.
His life will be celebrated, his spirit honored, in a memorial service to be held April 22. Those wishing to attend should contact his daughter, Lore (Dolly) McClory of Gurnee.
