Theresa J. Chovan (nee Amiot)
Age 55. At rest Thursday, July 12, 2001 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Survived by her beloved husband of 29 years, Ronald L. Chovan. Loving mother of Melissa Harris; dearest grandmother of Brandon and Nicole Harris. Dearest mother, Della (nee Collette) Amiot; two sisters, Collette (George) Weikum and Sandy (Gene) Altiery; two brothers, James Amiot and Bill (Dodi) Amiot; brother-in-law, William (Jackie, deceased) Ziegle. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded by her father, Leon Amiot; two sisters, Carol Tatro and Jackie Ziegle.
Theresa was born in Kankakee, IL, resided in the Joliet and Crest Hill areas most of her lifetime. Member of the Joliet Hospice Guild, Joliet Yacht Club and was an avid porcelain artist throughout the area.
At Theresa's request, cremation rites were accorded.

Margaret K. Greenly (nee Munchalfen)
Age 77. Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. born in Joliet and a lifelong resident. Formerly employed by the Joliet Herald News (Society Page). Member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church; and an active bowler with St. Paul's Women's Bowling League. Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks. She was an avid bridge player and golfer.
Preceded by her husband, William E. Greenly Jr. (Aug. 7, 1989); one son, William E. Greenly III (Dec. 29, 1973); parents, F.J. and Grace (nee Noirot) Munchalfen; one grandson, James J. Angulo.
Survived by two daughters, Elizabeth (Demetrius) Carter of Homewood and Joan (Henry) Bryan of Elwood; one son, Robert J. Greenly of Joliet; two grandchildren, Bill Bryan and Diana Angulo; two great-grandchildren, Jimmy and Coty Hoffman.
A con-celebrated memorial mass for Margaret Greenly will be held Sunday, July 15, 2001 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Arrangements by:

Age 57, passed away suddenly July 12, 2001 in Joliet, IL. A 25 year resident of Romeoville, IL. A tanker driver for A.D. Conner, Inc. of Frankfort, IL giving many years of service. A member of the Teamster's Union Local #705 and #710 of Chicago, IL.
He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Johns; devoted father of Janice Johns and Jackie Brown; stepfather of Robert Dupuis and James Dupuis; brother of Cheri Bruhn, Mark (Jalane) Johns and Marybeth (Ron) Johns; grandfather of five; uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Johns; also a brother, Michael Johns.
Family will receive friends at the Anderson Memorial Chapel, 606 Townhall Dr., Romeoville, Sunday 3-8 p.m. Funeral service that evening at 7:00 p.m. Interment to follow Monday, July 16, 2001 11:00 a.m. at the Masonic Cemetery in Delphi, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory preferred.

John "Murph" Murphy
Funeral services for John C. "Murph" Murphy, 78, of Hollister, will be held at 10am, Friday, July 13, at Whelchel Funeral Chapel in Branson. Prayer service and visitation will be at 7pm, Thursday July 12, at the funeral home.
He died July 10, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Murphy was born in Buffalo, N.Y., the son of Jack and Katherine (Kelly) Murphy. He was a United States veteran and a retired over-the-road teamster out of the Chicago area. He moved to Hollister in 1980, and worked as a security guard for Skaggs Community Health Center for three years and as a private contractor for 10 years, primarily at Skaggs.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Murphy, of the home; seven children, Patricia Freese and husband, Jerry, Richard and David Murphy, Walter Murphy and wife Patsy and Joseph Murphy, all of Hollister, Frank Murphy and wife Rika, of Okinawa, Japan and Michael Murphy and wife Colleen, of Joliet, IL,; one sister, Mary Rizzo and husband Nick and three brothers, Alphanso, Leon and Walter all of Buffalo; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.

Died July 6, 2001. born December 15, 1938 to LeRoy and Lucille O'Neill in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
Survived by children: Lynn (Mike) Benben of Waterford, WI; Patrick (Kathryn) O'Neill of Joliet; Colleen O'Neill of Naperville and Laura (Randy) Price of Rockford, IL. Grandchildren: Trevor Benben; Heather and Shannon O'Neill and Kellen and Keaton Price. Sister: Peggy Liljegren of Debuque, Iowa.

Martinus (Martin) H. Timmermans
Age 59, of Minooka, died suddenly on July 9th in Kansas City, MO. Martin was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Preceded in death by his parents, Hendrikus and Sophia Timmermans, his sister "Henny" Pool and grandson, Chance Lind.
He is survived by his beloved wife Donna (Overman) Timmermans, Tania (Scott) Denewellis of Charlotte, NC., Christopher (Machelle) Timmermans of Kansas City, MO., Joseph Lind of Morris, Jason (Jennifer) Lind of Marseilles, IL and Mieka Timmermans of Minooka. Grandchildren Cameron and Andrew Denewellis of Charlotte, NC., Tyler Bedell, Diana and Samuel Timmermans of Kansas City, MO., and Alexis Lind of Morris.
Martin retired from Chicago Bridge and Iron in December of 2000 after 32 years of dedicated service. He loved traveling, being with his family and his three sheltie dogs.
Memorial services will be held at Minooka United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 19 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Darr officiating.

Bernard Vercellotti "Barney"
Age 96 of Wilmington passed away Thursday evening July 12, 2001 at his home. born July 9, 1905 in Coal City to the late Carlo and Laura (Balma) Vercellotti. Also preceded in death by his late wife Virginia (Marketta); two brothers, James and Louis; one sister, Jenny.
Survived by two brothers, James of Joliet, Charles of Florida; one sister-in-law, Delores (Matt) Fassio; three nephews, Wayne, Robert Vercellotti and Jerry Getson. Also survived by the family of the late William Caldwell of whom Barney was a member because of deep and abiding friendship and trust: Lucille Caldwell and children, Don Caldwell, Linda Johnson and Judy Carrell and their families.
Barney was one of first welders in Will County. Too young for the 1st World War and too old for the second, he served his country by welding for Peabody Coal Co. and operated his own business in Wilmington along with co-founding and ownership of the Wilmington Speedwash Laundromat. He was active in the Republican party, serving as collector for many years. He was one of the founders of the Braidwood Recreation Club and an original member of Wilmington's "Over-The-Hill-Gang".
Visitation will be Monday, July 16, 2001 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. from the Freitag Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Tipton officiating. Interment to follow at Elmhurst Cemetery Joliet. Memorials in Barney's name to Joliet Area Hospice Residence fund would be appreciated.

Marvin W. Bitner
Age 86, of Manhattan, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lela Meyer Bitner; one daughter, Shirley (Gerald) Carpenter of Manhattan; one son, Ralph (Sophie) Bitner of Australia; one granddaughter, Grace Bitner of Australia; two grandsons, Jonathon Bitner of New York and Roy Carpenter of Manhattan; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Bitner (wife of Roger) of Joliet. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, William and Ethel Morse Bitner; two brothers, Ellis and Roger Bitner; one sister-in-law, Madeline Bitner.
Marvin farmed his entire life in the Manhattan area. He was a member of the Will County Farm Bureau and the Faith Bible Church in Joliet.

Age 17. Passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 10, 2002. born on March 4, 1985 in Joliet and a lifelong resident. A graduate of AO Marshall Grade School and Gompers Junior High; she attended Joliet Central High School. Brandi enjoyed writing poetry and singing. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Loving and devoted daughter of William and Vicki (nee McBride) Boyd Sr. of Joliet; beloved sister of Traci Boyd of Joliet, William L. (Heidi) Boyd Jr. of Diamond and Judith Fisk of Gardner; maternal grandparents, Norman and Shirley McBride Sr.; fond aunt of Christopher and Courtney; Erica, Tara and Autumn. Age 80, of Lemont, July 11, 2002. born in Summit, residing in Lemont most of her life.
Preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Driscoll; two sons, Patrick and Thomas; a daughter, Janine Driscoll; two brothers, George and Leslie Freehauf; and two sisters, Adeline Donahue and Edna Upper.
