Gary Patrick Ryan
Age 21. Passed away Thursday, July 11, 2002, after a battle with Leukemia at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Late of Mokena.
Survived by his parents, Thomas and Helen (Gilarski) Ryan and two brothers, Thomas (Greta) Ryan and Kenneth Ryan. Also survived by his paternal grandmother, Carolyn Ryan and his maternal grandparents, Charles and Julie Gilarski, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Born in Palos Heights, he was a lifelong area resident.
He was a graduate of Lincoln-Way High School, class of 1999, a graduate of Lincoln College, Class of 2001, and was currently attending Quincy University, where he was a member of the Quincy University Baseball team.
Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, Cedar at Francis Rd. on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be Monday, July 15, 2002 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel, to St. Jude Church for Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Memorials to the family for Lincoln College and Quincy University would be appreciated.
Gary was an avid fan of all sports, primarily baseball, which was his love. Gary's smile and love for life will be remembered by everyone whose life he touched.

At rest Friday, July 12, 2002 at her late residence. born in Chicago and a lifelong Kendall County area resident. Mrs. Testin and her husband, Maurice, farmed in Kendall County all their lives. Member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Plainfield and former member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
Survived by her daughter, Sharon Schaefers of Plainfield; two grandchildren, Robert Schaefers and Karen (C. Joseph) Wallace; one sister, Mary (Donald) Pray of Waverly, IA. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her husband, Maurice J. Testin (July 17, 2000); parents, John and Alice Boucher.

Age 82, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2002 after a brief illness. born in Booneville, MS where she was a member of the baptist church throughout her life. She was a longtime Joliet area resident.
Preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Wren; and infant son, Larry Joe Wren; her parents, William and Pearl (nee Vest) Walker; two sisters and four brothers.
She is survived by her children, Doris Smith, Rita (Fiancee, Bill Martin) Thye, Lonnie Wren and Marie Howland; her grandchildren, Jason Howland and Eric (Sue) Howland, her great-grandson, Cameron Joseph Howland; one sister, Lera (Rubel) Garvin of Booneville, MS; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Age 83, of Lemont, July 12, 2002. born in Chicago, residing in Lemont for the past 44 years. Employed by Cog Hill Golf Club for the past 40 years. Veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survived by his wife, Anne (nee Marley) Zenkus; a daughter, Janet (Larry) Simpson; a son, Jim (Donna) Zenkus, both of Woodridge; seven grandchildren, Valerie (Mike) Borzych, Christopher Simpson, Carolyn (Brian) Finger, Stephanie Simpson, Sara, Scott and Beth Zenkus; a great granddaughter, Ariel Zenkus; and a sister, Bernice Pamorski of Chicago.

George W. Barr
Age 85, late of Wilton Center, died Friday, July 11, 2003 at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Cann Barr, one daughter Barbara Palmer of Wilton Center, and one son George Jr. (Susan) Barr of Spring Green Wisconsin seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A special nephew Dale Drew also survives. George was lovingly cared for at his home by his wife Mary along with special caretaker Ivan Atanassov.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Isabel Mackender Barr, one sister Vera Drew, one brother Howard Barr and one great granddaughter Kaylee Anderson.
George was a lifelong resident of Wilton Twp. He graduated from Joliet Twp. High School and attended Coyne Electrical School in Chicago. He retired from Common Wealth Edison after 39 years of service. Past Peotone School Board member and president. Member of the Wilton Federated Church, executive board member, past chairman and treasurer. Member of the Wilton Cemetery Board of Trustees and served as a Wilton Twp. Trustee for multiple terms. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and belonged to the Manhattan American Legion Post 935.

Robert Charles Konicek
Robert Charles Konicek, age 65, of Plano, Illinois passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2003 at his home. He was born on April 30, 1938 in Joliet, Illinois the son of Earl P. and Emma V. (Schumacher) Konicek.
Bob was a lifetime farmer, good friend and neighbor to many. He began his farming career in the Lemont area, and has now farmed in the Yorkville-Plano area for over 40 years. Bob will always be remembered for his unique character and generosity. He enjoyed several hobbies including hunting, fishing and playing cards with his family and friends. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Diane, and their children, Roberta (Jim Walaszek) Konicek of Chicago, Kimberly (Richard) Kaskel of Buffalo Grove, and Mark (Chantal) Konicek of Baskings Ridge, New Jersey. Bob is also survived by his son Taylor Crawford of Yorkville. He was the dear grandfather of two grandsons, Jordan Kaskel and Ethan Konicek; brother of Wayne (Lois) Konicek of Plano, Bob's twin sister, Mitz (Don) Weck of Romeoville and his brother, Dale (Chris) Konicek of Yorkville; as well as uncle of several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl P. Konicek on January 4, 1992 and Emma V. Konicek on April 24, 2003.
A funeral mass for Mr. Konicek will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Yorkville, Illinois with Father Boniface Vaisnoras M.I.C. officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Bristol, Illinois.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Kuehn. Devoted father of Elizabeth Hill, Terrie Kuehn, Doug Kuehn and Dawn Kuehn. Brother of Richard Kuehn, grandfather of Nicholas, Jordan and Casandra. Uncle of one niece and four nephews.

Age 48, went home with our Lord on Thursday, July 10, 2003. Formerly a resident of Joliet. born August 10, 1954 in San Antonio, TX and also a resident.
