Preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Margaret Zabala; one sister Virginia Pasternak; and one nephew Telly Zabala and a niece Sandy Tolman.
Survived by 13 brothers and sisters: Marie Tolman, Mary Ellen Lorien, Mickey (Henry) Wind, Rachel (Michael) Elwell, Paul, George (Pam), Leonard, Peter, Sylvia and Danny Zabala, Carmen Moore, Frank (Janice) and Chrissy Zabala.

Patricia A. "Patsy" Bakke (nee Ostoich)
God has called another Angel.
On Tuesday, July 16, 2002 at 9 AM, Pat Bakke (Ostoich) was born into Eternal Life. Where after 11 years, she will once again be at the side of her loving husband of 43 years, Bill (P.W., retired EJ and E). Also waiting to embrace Patsy were her mother, Sophie (nee Radeka); father, Rade; sisters, Helen (Schusner) and Mary; brother, George; and brother-in-law, Jack O'Brien.
Patsy leaves a wealth of family and friends, looking forward again one day to her compassion and laughter. Remembered always by, son, Bryan (Anita Claire, nee Gigliette); grandsons, Ryan Patrick and Jason Michael; sisters, Millie (Jack) Rydman and Bertha (Jack, deceased) O'Brien; brothers, Nicholas (Genevieve) Ostoich and Paul (Grace) Ostoich; loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and many friends who have continued to remember her through their many thoughtful prayers and cards as she has spent the last year in AZ with her family.
Patsy was a life long member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church and the Circle of Serbian Sisters.
Patsy and her sister owned and operated the Blue Bird Restaurant prior to spending over 35 joy-filled years at Stefaniches Restaurant, as the "Old-Gal".
Funeral Services for Patricia A. Bakke will be held directly at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church on Saturday, July 20, 2002 at 10 AM. Visitation will be held at the Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd. on Friday, July 19 from 4 to 8 PM. Pomen Services will be at 7:30 PM.

Ethel Johanna Bynre (nee Jacobsen)
Age 89 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, July 17, 2002.
Ethel lost many loved ones during her lifetime including her husband, Christy J. Byrne in 1960, then her daughters, Sister Pat (Killian) Byrne, O.S.F. in 1986, Sister Jane (Thomasine) Byrne, O.S.F. in 1999, her son, Christy J. Byrne, Jr., in 1991, and her great-grandson, Dominic James D'Amato in 1995, as well as her parents and three sisters.
She is now survived by her children, Christine (Gene) Audette, Jim (Pat) Byrne, as well as seven grandchildren; Jerry (Lynne) Audette, Barb Cone, Ken Audette, Dan (Laurie) Byrne, Joe (Lana) Byrne, Carrie (Dominic) D'Amato and Kelly Byrne. She was also blessed with twelve surviving great-grandchildren; Brian and Tim Cone, Madison Audette, Emily, Christopher, Sarah, Matthew, Rebecca and Nick Byrne, Michael, Kathryn and Daniel D'Amato.
After her retirement as a nurse's aide at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, Ethel was a faithful volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital until January 2002.
Ethel will be waked at Our Lady of Angels Home at 1201 Wyoming Ave., Joliet, IL on Friday, July 19 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 20, 2002 in the chapel at Our Lady of Angels, at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements by:

Edith D. Carter (nee Davis)
Age 81. Passed away June 15, 2002 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center.
Survived by her grandchildren Cheryl Sears and Matthew McKern; two sisters Catherine (Raymond) Emily and Claramond Schulz. Sister-in-law Ida Davis; Cousin Valerie Marshall. Step children Harold (Elizabeth) Carter, Robert (Edite) Carter and Susan (Robert Sabin) Carter. Numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by her first husband Arthur McComb; second husband Lawrence Carter. Children David McComb, Jacqueline Valenti and Kathleen McKern. Grandchildren Steven Valenti, Dawn and Eric McKern. Parents Darrell R. & Mary S. (Brachaw) Davis. One brother Owen Davis and one sister Murriell Smego.
Born in Joliet, a lifelong resident. Edith spent many years volunteering for the Senior Service Center in Joliet. Member of the Jesse Walker United Methodist Church.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday July 20, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jesse Walker United Methodist Church, 2506 Caton Farm Rd. with Rev. Linda Hood officiating. Interment of ashes Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Ruth H. Chidsey
(nee Henneberry)
Age 89 years, peacefully left our world on Monday, July 15, 2002, at her late residence to live with God.
Ruth was born December 12, 1912 in Lorenzo, IL. She was a graduate of St. Francis Academy, Joliet Junior College and Pestolattzzi Teachers College. Before retiring, Ruth taught in Plainfield School District for thirty years. She was a member of numerous organizations, including: St. Raymond CCW, Cathedral Seniors, Daughters of Isabella, Catholic Woman's League, Irish American Society, Joliet Catholic Alumni Association, Joliet Area Retired Teachers, Illinois Retired Teachers, National Retired Teachers, Joliet Historical Society and Will County History Society. Honors include: St. Raymond CCW "Woman of the Year" and a Community Service "Congressman's Medal of Merit." Ruth was also an avid bridge player.
Survived by two daughters, Joan (Joseph 2001) Garbin and Rita (Charles 1976) Fabek, a grandson Kevin Garbin of Cocoa Beach, FL, five granddaughters Mary (Dan) Spata, Kathleen (Brien) McHugh, Carol Jordan, Cheryl Fabek and Judy (Scott) Nolan all of Joliet, 10 great-grandchildren Teri and Matt Spata, Erin, Joe and Mary Kate McHugh, Steve Jordan, Chris, Lindsey, Seth and James Nolan.
Preceded in death by her husband Robert (1983), parents Frank and Mabel (Keigher) Henneberry, twin sister Rita, and an infant brother John.
Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Friday, July 19th at 9:30 A.M. to the Cathedral of St. Raymond's for a mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. Interment Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Joliet Area Community Hospice or the Cathedral of St. Raymond would be appreciated. Visitation will be Thursday 3-8 P.M.

Age 89, late of Lockport, Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at Provena Villa Franciscan Nursing Home. born in Lockport, lifelong Lockport resident.
Member of St. Dennis Catholic Church, Lockport.
Preceded in death by her husband Frank, her parents, Angelo and Maria (Levore) Carollo, six sisters, four brothers, a brother-in-law John DeBarbera and a sister-in-law Anna DeBarbera.
Survived by her daughter Joyce (Ron) Elder of Lockport, a brother-in-law Angelo (Jo Ann) DeBarbera, and a sister-in-law Delores DeBarbera. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Age 88, of Manhattan, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet.
He is survived by three sons; David (Betty) Gallagher of Manhattan. Kenneth (Loretta) Gallagher of Manhattan and Richard (Dee) Gallagher of Wilmington. Two daughters; Jeanene (Greg) Flint of Coal City and Myrtle (Dan) Brown of Oak Lawn. Fourteen grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. One brother Joe Gallagher. Four sisters, Theresa Gallagher, Cecelia Mundt, Ruth Audette and Doris Hawryluk. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife Mary Kay McHugh Gallagher. Parents Michael and Mabel Kirstein Gallagher. Grandson Kevin Joseph Gallagher (infant). One brother Francis Gallagher. Four sisters, Irene Gallagher (infant), Lillian Walsh, Hazel Draves and Bernice Bratcher.
Gene was born and raised in Manhattan and retired after 50 years of farming. He was very dedicated to his community, serving as the Manhattan Township Supervisor for 20 years. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manhattan. A member of Manhattan Lions Club and the Manhattan Sportsman Club. He was also a member of the first graduating class of St. Joseph's Catholic Grade School, Manhattan.
Funeral services for Eugene Gallagher will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20, from the Forsythe Funeral Chapel, 320 Eastern Ave., Manhattan to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 West North Street, Manhattan, 10:00 a.m. Mass. Age 84, died peacefully at home with his family by his side on Sunday, July 14, 2002.
Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Margie (nee Bolerjack) Jamerson; his three children, Jack (Joyce) Jamerson of Luling, LA, Joseph (Mary) Jamerson of Orange Park, FL and John (Yvonne) Jamerson of Joliet, IL; his five grandchildren, Scott (Brandi) Jamerson of Charlston, WV, Kristin (Geoffrey) Gartner of Jacksonville, FL, Brian (Anita) Jamerson of Lexington Park, MD, Nicole (Fiancee, Zachery Edgar) Jamerson of Rockdale, IL and Christopher Jamerson of Baton Rouge, LA; his four great grandchildren, Elizabeth Canterbury of Charleston, WV, Geoffrey "Alex" Gartner of Jacksonville, FL, Maggie Jamerson of Charleston, WV and Anna Grace Gartner of Jacksonville, FL.
Jack was born in Hamilton County, IL on January 24, 1918 and has resided in Joliet since 1955. He was a retired Caterpillar employee of 26 1/2 years and was a member of Caterpillar Retiree's Club. He was a longtime member of First Assembly of God since 1956, holding several church offices including Honorary Elder. Having a deep desire for people to come to know Jesus, Jack ministered to residents of nursing homes, the county jail and Morning Star Mission.
Preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Jack's family will receive friends at Westwood Memorial Chapel on Thursday, July 18, 2002 from 4 to 8 PM.
Lying in state at First Assembly of God, 1741 Essington Rd. on Friday, July 19th from 10 AM until time of Service at 11 AM. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Lindblad, Olga (nee Malinoff)
Age 87. Late of Joliet, passed away on June 1, 2002 in Eureka Springs, AR.
Survived by three children: Karen, Virginia and John Emil, all of Eureka Springs. Three sisters: Doris (Elmer deceased) Nelson, Mary (Frank deceased) Purpura and Galey (Edward) Bedford, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. (1994), her parents, Doni and Stephana Malinoff, two brothers, George (Jane) (1987), Bonnie (Frances deceased) (1994).
Private services were held in Eureka Springs, AR.
