Lorraine C. Wilhelm, 73, of Montgomery, passed away on Tues., Jan. 2, 2001 at Rush-Copley Memorial Home in Aurora. She was born March 31, 1927 in Aurora. Lorraine was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Aurora.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Augusta Renner; her husband, Robert Wilhelm.
Survivors include a son, Jim (Stephanie) Wilhelm of Sugar Grove; two daughters, Rickie Wilhelm of Elgin, IL and Bobbi (Rick) Steele of Aurora; a brother, Wilbert (Eleanor) Renner of Aurora; two sisters, Bernice (Edward) Wagner of Montgomery and Dorothy (Warren) Bachert of Aurora; also seven grandchildren, Jen Gord of Aurora, Danny Steele of Fort Hood, TX, Sarah Steele of Aurora, Samantha Wilhelm, Abbie Wilhelm, Halley Wilhelm and Shawn Wilhelm, all of Sugar Grove.
Visitation will be held on Thurs., Jan. 4, 2001 from 3-8 PM at the Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery. Funeral services will be held on Fri., Jan. 5, 2001 at 10:30 AM at the Dieterle Memorial Home with the Rev. Patricia Geiseman officiating. Burial at St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery in Montgomery.

nee Arnhold
Age 79, formerly of Plainfield, life long resident of Minooka, IL, died Thursday, January 4, 2001 at Rosewood Healthcare Center, Joliet, IL. She was born August 17, 1921 in Joliet, IL.
She is survived by four sons, James Davidson of Argus, IN, Don (Stephanie) Davidson of Minooka, IL, Jerry (Lorraine) Davidson of Minooka, IL and William Davidson Jr. of Minooka, IL; six grandchildren, Sheila Davidson of Indiana, Matthew (Julie) Davidson of Minooka, IL, Marc (Lisa) Davidson of Detroit, MI, Malinda "Mindy" (Marshall) Johnson of Minooka, IL, Marcia Davidson of Aurora, IL and Kathleen (Brian) Kaplan of Minooka, IL; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death by her husband, William Davidson in 1986; her parents, John and Elsie (nee Herzog) Arnhold; and a brother, Robert Arnhold.
Mrs. Davidson grew up in the Plainfield area and married her husband, William on January 25, 1941. Mrs. Davidson raised her family on her family farm in Minooka. She was an active member of Minooka United Methodist Church, serving on many committees and belonging to the Evening Circle Bible Study Group. She also was a member of the Minooka Women's Club and enjoyed gardening.

Vernie Evans
Vernie Evans, age 98, a life long resident of Big Rock, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2001 at her home. She was born on January 18, 1902 in Big Rock, Illinois, the daughter of William and Minnie (Dellenbach) Lewis.
Vernie was united in marriage on December 25, 1921 in Big Rock, Illinois to Mr. Perry David Evans and they spent the next 68 years together until his passing on October 30, 1990. She was a member of the Big Rock Baptist Church where she served as its Organist, Treasurer and Deaconess. She had also served, for over 50 years, as a member of it's choir. Mrs. Evans will be remembered as a very loving and special aunt, great aunt, and great great aunt who will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. She was a wonderful cook and her delicious meals will be greatly missed by all of them.
She is survived by her many loving nieces and nephews, including Ford and his wife, Pam Lewis, Sarah and her husband, Mark Ziemba, Jenny and her husband, Jerry Kaus, Marvel Evans Davis, Ed and his wife, Nell Evans, Darrel and his wife, Cindy Evans, Dr. Allen and his wife, Hazel Reese, Oretta Baker, Anita and her husband, Bob Matthews, Helen Carroll, Buford and his wife, Caroline Jones, Barbara Smeltzer, Keith and his wife, Bea Evans; her two great great nephews, Clayton and Justyn Ziemba; and her sister-in-law, Grace Lewis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Perry; her infant son, Loral Perry Evans in 1941; her brother, Ray Lewis; her nieces and nephews, Perry Reese, Meredith Jones, Jeanette Jones Mitchell, Emmitt Reese, Mark and his wife, Lucille Evans, Glynn Reese and Marilyn Evans.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 6, 2001 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel in Hinckley, Illinois with Reverend Wayne Kirk officiating. Interment will follow in the West Big Rock Cemetery in Big Rock, Illinois.

Rebecca Korakas
Rebecca Korakas, 95, of St, Charles, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2001 at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. She was born June 10, 1905 in Gargaliani, Greece. She emigrated to America in 1931 and married her late husband, Stilianos "Stanley" Korakas in Chicago that same year. A homemaker, Mrs. Korakas moved to St. Charles in 1939 from Chicago and was devoted to her family and her church, St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church in Aurora. She was also a 47 year member of the Daughters of Penelope Latona, Chapter #145, Order of AHEPA.
She is survived by her son, George (Melanie) Korakas of Naples, FL.; her daughter, Virginia (Joseph) Radovich of Geneva, IL.; her grandson, Joseph Korakas of Naples, FL; her great-granddaughter, Jennifer (Jordan) Naylor of Chicago; and many nieces and nephews in the United States and Greece.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978; her parents; 1 brother Elias; and one sister, Mary.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, January 8, 2001, at St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church, 1855 Fifth Ave., Aurora. John A. Leadbetter
John A. Leadbetter, 82 of Aurora, passed away Wednesday January 3, 2001, at his home. He was born October 21, 1918 in Royalton, Illinois the son of the late Rufus and Bertha Leadbetter.
John was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corps, 90th Bomber Group. He was a life member of the Amvets Post #103, where he was commander in 1973 and a life member of the Montgomery V.F.W. Post #7452. John was very active in the area veteran's organizations, most notably being in the parades for many years. He was a member of Aurora Labor Union Local #149. John loved to be outdoors working in his garden until his health forced him to give it up.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Shirley Ann Leadbetter of Aurora; daughter Audrey Medina of Oswego, IL. and her children, Melinda and Crystal; son Charles (Dawn) Leadbetter of Montgomery, IL. and their children, Tonya (Joel) Wyatt, Cam and Shane; daughter Linda Poss of Earlville, IL. and her children, Kelly, Jimmy, Misty, Jeanie and Katie; daughter Rosemary (David) Morales of Maple Park, IL. and their children, David and Arlene; son Chester Leadbetter of Aurora; brother Joseph Leadbetter of Wisconsin; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Johnson and Bertha Christiansen and several other brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2001, at 10:00 AM from The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora, IL. Visitation will be on Friday, January 5, 2001 from 5:00-8:00 PM at The Healy Chapel. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Thelma Louise Pippin
Thelma Louise Pippin, 55, of Montgomery, on Wednesday, January 3, 2001 accepted the Lords call and joined him in Heaven.
Thelma who was better known as Louise, was born in Keokee, VA on May 12, 1945. She had 33 years of a loving marriage to Carl (Toby) Pippin, who she lost to the Lord in November of 1998. She had one loving son, Jeffrey, which she adored the relationship they had. Louise was educated in the Keokee, VA School system and had enrolled in several courses at Wabonsee Community College. She was previously employed at Vendo Manufacturing in the late 60's and 70's before moving to the Dial Corporation where she worked for some 18 years leaving in 1998. She was most recently employed by Oswego School District #303. Louise was an active member of the Park Place Baptist Church and she truly enjoyed family get togethers and talking to friends and family, both old and new. Louise also enjoyed writing, gardening and watching TV, but always enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends the most.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Carl (Toby) Pippin; a daughter, Connie Pippin; her parents, William and Pearl (Wilson) Holmes; two sisters, Janie Johnson and Goldie Collins; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Belle (Burton) Pippin; also grandparents; several aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law; and her loved dog, Spanky. Louise had a true loving bond to each and every member of her family and friends and always treasured the memories of those she lost before her.
Louise is survived by a son, Jeffrey Pippin and Kim Schmidt of Montgomery; three brothers, Eddie Ray Holmes, C.B. and Pat Holmes, Willie and Rhonda Holmes, all of Keokee, VA. Also Ernest Roy Pippin of Montgomery, Ray and Evelyn Pippen of Aurora, Kay and Jimmy Colson of Florida. Louise had a very special relationship with her nieces and nephews, Lenny and Judy Pippin of Minnesota, Robert and Norma Pippin of Florida, Freida and Everett Benson of Montgomery, Rick and Diania Johnson of Montgomery, Mike and Holly Pippn of Warrenville, Joyce Pippin of Wheaton, Frank and Linda Davison of Aurora, Glen and Irene Pippin of Joliet, Mary Jo Shaver, Patricia White, John White Jr., Mike Holmes, David Holmes, Charles Ray Holmes, Sherrie Shaver, Joseph Shaver, Dana Fitzjarrald, Richard Johnson; cousins, Cecil and Chris Wilson of Sugar Grove, Dovie Musick of Virginia, Burdell, Judy, Carol and Rosy Benson. Louise had many friends including the members of the Park Place Baptist Church, they became her extended family with special acknowledgments to Pastor Jan Duziak and Deaconess Lona Dodge. Some of her friends that have touched her life, Nadine Phillips, Nellie Green, Tammy Diaz and Betty Carico.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 8, 2001 from 5-8 PM at the Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2001 at 11 AM at the Park Place Baptist Church in Montgomery where she will lie in state from 10 AM until the funeral hour with Rev. Timothy Baltz officiating. A luncheon will be served following the graveside services at Park Place Baptist Church. Burial will take place at Springlake Cemetery in Aurora. Wanda J. Howard Tholl
Wanda J. Howard Tholl, 47 a resident of Warrenville since 1993, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at Central Dupage Hospital, Winfield.
She was born on April 9, 1953 in Kentucky, she was a homemaker and was a member of the Naperville Moose, the Warenville VFW Ladies Auxillary and St. Irene's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry T. Tholl of Warrenville; one daughter, Cindy Klarich of Florida; one son, Jackie Howard of Kentucky; seven step-children; her mother, Margaret Tanton of Kentucky; three brothers; four sisters; six step-grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
she was preceded in death by her father, John E. Rice; one brother, two sisters and one step-son.

William J. "Bill" Davidson, Jr., 52, lifelong resident of Minooka, IL, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001 at Provena-St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet, IL. He was born Dec. 23, 1948 in Joliet, IL.
Survived by three brothers, James Davidson of Argus, IN, Don (Stephanie) Davidson of Minooka, IL and Jerry (Lorraine) Davidson of Minooka, Il; six nieces and nephews, Sheila Davidson of Indiana, Matthew (Julie) Davidson of Minooka, Il, Marc (Lisa) Davidson of Detroit, MI, Malinda "Mindy" (Marshall) Johnson of Minooka, IL, Marcia Davidson of Aurora, IL and Kathleen (Brian) Kaplan of Minooka, IL; eight great nieces and great nephews and numerous cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth Mary (nee Arnhold) Davidson.
Mr. Davidson was a lifelong resident of Minooka. He divided his time between working on the Davidson family farm with his brother, Jerry or helping out at Davidson Sealcoating and Striping, the family's paving company. He was a member of the Minooka United Methodist Church. He enjoyed working with puzzles and listening to music.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 10, 9-10:30 a.m. at the Minooka United Methodist Church, 205 Church St., Minooka, IL.

Kathryn M. Haag
Kathryn M. Haag, 83, died early Sunday morning, January 7, 2001, at the Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta, WI. She was born in Fairchild, WI on May 30, 1917, the daughter of Frank and Marion (Foster) Norris.
She graduated from Green Bay West High School. She was united in marriage to Wilson W. Haag on November 25, 1936 in the Town of Oswego, IL. They lived in Melrose Park, IL for 5 years and then moved to West Chicago where they lived until 1997. Kathryn owned The Snack Shop for 15 years. Wilson died on October 10, 1995, and Kathryn moved to Sparta, WI in 1997.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Merrilyn; and two sisters, Lucille Kloehn and Carol Gritt.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Mary Jo) Haag of Sand Point, Idaho, Reginald (Kathy) Haag of Sparta, WI and Sheldon (Allene) Haag of St. Charles, IL; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Rosemary (Andrew) Reuden of Seymour, WI; and one brother, Fred (Lillian) Norris of Florida.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Ruth M. Hermes
Ruth M. Hermes, 93, of Aurora, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2001 at Elmwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 20, 1907 in Aurora.
Ruth was a society editor of The Beacon News for several years. She studied music at the Music Conservatory and also studied accounting and worked as an accountant for many years. She was a member of Holy Angels Church and a charter member of the St. Anne's Society of Holy Angels Church.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Hermes of Aurora; three grandchildren, Katherine (Tom) Lent & Karolyn (George) Maichel, both of Valejo, CA & Kurtis Lee Hermes of Aurora; three great grandchildren, Amberlynn, Christina and Anthony; two nephews, William J. (Ann) Queenan of Allenhurst, N.J. and Dean (Ann) Zettinger of Winter Haven, Florida; one niece, Sheila Boudreau of Tennessee; her great nieces and nephews, Barbara, Nancy, Alan, Maureen, Louise, Anthony, Brendan, John, Carol, Joan and Karen and numerous great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Elmer A. Hermes; her son, Albert Lee Hermes; her parents, John J. and Hannah (Lamb) McDonald; two brothers, John R. & Edward McDonald; two sisters, Dorothy Zettinger and Margaret Queenan; and by a niece, Dorothy Olson.

Russell W. Lasson
Russell W. Lasson, 86, a resident of Heartland Health Care Center of Henry, IL, formerly of Aurora, IL, died at Heartland, Monday, Jan. 8, 2001. He was born Dec. 27, 1914 in Naperville, IL, the son of William and Ada (Struble) Lasson.
Survivors include four sons, Gerald (Joan) Lasson of Springfield, OH, Wayne (Linda) Lasson of Lake Forest, IL, Rex (Ann) Lasson of Princeton, and Kurt Lasson of Elgin, IL; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one brother, Ken Lasson of Phoenix, AZ.
Preceded in death by his wife, Marion and two grandchildren.
Member of the Elks Lodge; Cosmopolitan Club; 70 year member of the YMCA; graduate of East Aurora High School and had operated an Auto Body Shop in the Aurora area.
Cremation has been accorded, there will be a private family service at a later date.

Evelyn M. Samuelson
Evelyn M. Samuelson, age 77, of Geneva, formerly of Batavia, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2001 at Provena Geneva Care Center in Geneva. She was born March 8, 1923 in Hurley, Wisconsin, the daughter of Edward and Jennie Hendrickson.
Evelyn worked as floor supervisor at Campana before retiring. She worked hard to raise her children practically alone. She was known to many of her children's friends as "Ma" and had an open door policy to everyone.
She is survived by her five children, Jeninne (David) Doenges of Batavia, Bonnie (Daniel) DeBruycker of Batavia, Fred Anderson of Sugar Grove, Lori (Bruce) Mitchell of North Aurora and Scott Anderson of St. Charles; nine grandchildren, Steve Doenges of North Aurora, Tim (Elizabeth), Shaun (Brigid), Daniel and Emily DeBruycker all of Batavia, Kristin and Shane Anderson of Sugar Grove, Savannah Meyers of North Aurora and Brian Anderson of St. Charles; six great grandchildren and a brother, Carl Hendrickson of Wisconsin.
in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, H. Scott Anderson and by her second husband, E.T. Samuelson; her sister, Gladyce Sebastian; two brothers, Edwin and Eino Hendrickson and by her grandson, Mark Doenges.

Norm Tracy
Norm Tracy, age 68, of Grayson, GA died Sat., Dec. 30, 2000.
Memorial services were held 10 a.m. Wed., Jan. 3, 2001 at the Grayson United Methodist Church. Rev. Gerald Varner officiated.
Survivors include: his wife, Vivian J. Tracy of Grayson, GA; children, Dennis Tracy of Covington, Keith Tracy of Powder Springs, Kevin Tracy of Grayson and Cheryl Loy of Hoschton; step brothers, Eugene Knudson of WI and Gary Knudson of AZ; sister, Donna M. Labrenz of WI; grandchildren, Aimee Baker, Michelle Tracy, Tracy Loy, Kelcy Loy and Hunter Tracy; several nieces and nephews.
A native of WI, Mr. Tracy was formerly of Montgomery, IL, he was a school bus driver for Gwinnett County and in Oswego, IL. He loved his children on the school bus and they called him "Mr. Norm." He was also an active member in the Grayson United Methodist Church and also in the Stone Mountain Squares Dance Club.

Ruth A. Anderson
Ruth A. Anderson, 96, of Earlville, IL, passed away Monday, January 8, 2001 in the Mendota Lutheran Home in Mendota. She was born October 16, 1904 in McGaheysville, VA, the daughter of Luther S. and Lilly (Morris) Gryer.
In 1906, her family moved to Illinois and settled in the Earlville area. She was educated in the Country Schools and graduated from Earlville High School in 1922. She attended DeKalb State Teachers College and taught in the Country Schools. On May 22, 1926, she was married to Leroy Anderson. In 1925, she became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville, where she served on Parish Education for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church Womens Auxiliary and a member of the Mary Martha Circle. Ruth served on the Pleasant View Luther Home Board for three years from 1977-1980.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2001 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville with the Rev. Donald L. Knowles officiating. Burial will be in Precinct Cemetery in rural Earlville.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 11, 2001 from 5 -8 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville. Memorials may be directed to the Mendota Lutheran Home.
