Gerald Butler
Gerald Butler, 78, of Aurora passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001 at Central DuPage Hospital.
He was born Dec. 8, 1922 in Oxford Depot, N.Y., the son of the late Asa and Minnie Butler.
Gerald was a WWII Army Air Corp veteran. He retired as a supervisor from Illinois Bell Telephone Company after 35 years. He was a former member of the Illinois Bell Pioneer's. He enjoyed bowling, gaming and walking as his hobbies. He was a caring husband and father and will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Delores (Miller) Butler of Aurora; his son, Barry (Jeanine) Butler of Aurora; three daughters, Linda (Rex) Benjamin of Aurora, Sherry (Dave) Cory of The Woodlands, Texas and Laurie (John) Drew of LaPorte, Texas; nine grandchildren,Daniel and Bridget Butler, Todd and Bryan Tullett, Jeff and Ricky Cory,Kimberly Phillip, Darrick and Alicia Drew; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001 at the Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 12, 2001 in the funeral home. Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park.

Samuel M. Cruz
Samuel M. Cruz, 73, of Aurora, passed away January 7th, 2001 at Christ Community Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois. He was born January 10th, 1927 in Chicago, IL.
Mr. Cruz was employed as a forger at Fox Valley Forge for 22 years until his retirement in 1990 and was co-owner of the La Michoacana Grocery Store in Aurora for over 25 years. He was also member of St. Therese Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Maria R. Cruz of Aurora; three daughters, Graciela (Michael) McCarney & Maria (Jesus) Guadiana, both of Aurora and Sandra (Heriberto) Camargo of N. Aurora; two sons, Jorge L. (Alicia) Cruz and Antonio (Teresa) Cruz both of Oswego; 13 grandchildren, Jesus and Gabriel Cruz of Aurora, Edith and Yanet Guardiana of Aurora, Massiel, Bianca and Daniel Camargo of N. Aurora, Jorge Jr., David & Marisol Cruz, all of Oswego, Cristina, Lilli and Marian Cruz of Oswego; eight great grandchildren, Brandon, Marisa, Alia, Vanessa, Fernando, Alexsia, Matthew and Gabriel; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alberto and Viviana (Montoya) Cruz and one sister, Isabel.
Funeral from the Dieterle Memorial Home, Thursday, at 9:15 a.m. to St. Therese Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Joseph T. Muller, MSC, will officiate with intombment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Diana W. (Coakley) Duffy
Mrs. Diana W. (Coakley) Duffy, 54, of Oswego, Il, died Tuesday, January 9, 2001 at her residence. She was born May 14, 1946 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of the late Jack J. and Marie nee Raymond Coakley.
For many years, prior to her illness, she was employed at such businesses as Sue Ann Shop in Yorkville, IL, Mill Liquor Store in Montgomery, Lane Bryant at Fox Valley Mall, Aurora Dry Goods in Aurora and Montgomery Wards in Aurora.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; two sons, Daniel M. (Patricia) Duffy of Oswego, IL and Douglas L. (Patricia) Duffy of Watseka, IL; five grandchildren, Derrek, Darren, D.J., Kayla, and Dylan Duffy; a brother, Jack G. "Rocky" (Laura) Coakley of Oswego, IL and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Donna Marie Bakacs.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 11, 2001 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the McKEOWN-DUNN FUNERAL HOME, LTD at 210 Madison Street in Oswego, IL.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 12, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church (Joachim Center) with Rev. Bob Collogan celebrant. Burial will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the VNA Hospice of Fox Valley.

Norman L. Huggett
Norman L. Huggett, 79, of Earlville, Illinois, passed away Monday, January 8, 2001 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL. He was born August 17, 1921 in Sandwich, IL., the son of Harry and Mable (Duvick) Huggett. He married Wanda James on December 8, 1945 in Kernesville, N.C.
He was an auto mechanic for many years in Sandwich and Somonauk and later Earlville and he retired in 1974. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Air Force. Following his retirement, he enjoyed going to flea markets.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 12, 2001 at Hanley-Turner Funeral Home in Earlville with the Rev. Terrence O'Brien officiating. Burial will follow in Elerding Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2001, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Huggett of Earlville; two sons, Charles Huggett of Earlville and Ronald (Shiela) Huggett of Lincoln, NE.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son, Phillip Ray Huggett.

Dean Edward Lirot
Dean Edward Lirot, 68, of North Aurora, passed away Monday, January 8, 2001 at Provena Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora. Dean was born July 12, 1932, in Aurora, IL., to Marcel and Mabel (nee Olson) Lirot.
Dean was a 1950 graduate of West Aurora High School. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Roberts on June 28, 1952 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in St. Charles, IL. Dean was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a member of Batavia Moose Lodge #682.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie; his mother Mabel; five sons, David (Michele nee Sunleaf) Lirot of North Aurora, Brad (Terri) Lirot of Sandwich, Ryan Lirot of Sandwich, Steve (Kathy) Lirot of Leland and Joseph Lirot of North Aurora; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; one brother, Dan (Nancy) Lirot of Sandwich; two sisters, Sally (Jerry) Smith of North Aurora and Marsha (Jim) Ochsenschlager of Aurora.
He is preceded in death by his father and one daughter at infancy.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 11, 2001 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in North Aurora, where he will lie in state from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Monsignor Edward S. Wright will officiate. Burial will be at River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia, IL.

Lourdes Pasten
Lourdes Pasten, 42, of Aurora, passed away, Monday, January 8, 2001 at Provena Mercy Center Hospital. She was born Oct. 12, 1958 in Mexico City, Mexico.
Lourdes was employed by Job Service of Aurora for 20 years. She was a member of St. Rita of Cascia Church.
Survivors include her husband, David Pasten; two daughters, Mindy & Bianca Alexandra; her mother, Maria (Navarro) Iniquez, all of Aurora; three brothers, Victor (Maria) Iniguez of Boulder Hill and Jose (Louisa) Iniguez & Angel (Celia) Iniguez, Jr., both of Aurora; three sisters, Alicia (Saul) Salgado and Blanca Chavez, both of Aurora and Gloria (Jose Luis) Isais of Mexico City; three sisters-in-law; Aurora (Roberto) Gomez and Josefina (Arturo) Quirarte, both of Chicago and Blanca Estella (Mario) Soriano of Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles & cousins; her special friend, Rosa Serna of Elgin; and her close friends with whom she worked.
She was preceded in death by her father, Angel Iniquez, Sr.
Funeral from The Daleiden Lake St. Mortuary, Thursday, January 11, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. to St. Rita of Cascia Church at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Robert J. Willhite will officiate with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Dwayne H. Porter
Mr. Dwayne H. Porter, 58, of Aurora, passed away January 8, 2001 at his home. He was born November 2, 1941 in Aurora to the late Donald and Elsie Porter.
Mr. Porter owned and operated Porter Appliance Repair for 22 years. He enjoyed his business and all of his customers through out the Fox Valley Area. He was an active member of North Aurora Seventh Day Adventist Church, where he earlier served as a Deacon and on the Greeting and Social Committees. Dwayne loved to fish and ride snowmobiles. He was a member of the Lucky 50 Club. He will be sadly missed by his family, church family, fishing buddies and snowmobile buddies.
He is survived by his wife, Judy I. Porter; two daughters, Laurie (Michael) Tirio of Hinckley, IL and Michelle Porter of Aurora; his grandson, Nicolas Tirio of Hinckley, IL; his brothers, Dick (Sharon) Porter of AZ, Dallas (Judy) Porter of N. Carolina, Dennis (Lorrie) Porter of Yorkville; one sister, Diane (Randy) Dickinson of Evansville, ID; and sister-in-law, Barb Porter of Plano. Dwayne was looking forward to the birth of his granddaughter, Natalie Tirio in March of this year.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his son, Dwayne L. Porter and his two brothers, Donald and David Porter.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 11:00 a.m., January 11, 2001 at North Aurora Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Kenneth Denslow officiating with a one hour visitation before the services.
Visitation will be held on Wed. 4-8 p.m., Jan. 10, 2001 at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora. Interment will be at River Hills Memorial Park.

Helen C. Rott
Helen C. Rott, 82, of Downers Grove, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2001 at her home. She was born in Chicago on April 27, 1918 to Walter and Cecilia Zielinski.
She was a lifelong member and a founding parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church for 75 years.
She is survived by her three children, Richard Rott of Naperville, Barbara (William) Kempton of Oswego and Mary Alice Rott of Lisle. She was a proud grandmother of Rob, Todd and Gregg Kempton; dear sister of Irene (the late Fred) Overstreet, Henrietta (Earl) Sutter and Raymond (Ruth) Purol.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo J. and one son, Walter.
Funeral services Thursday, 9:15 a.m. from the Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, Rte. 53 and Short St., Lisle to St. Joan of Arc Church, 1005 Division St., Lisle for Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m.
Interment Sts Peter and Paul Cemetery, Naperville. Visitation Wednesday, 2 until 9 p.m.

Robert E. Buckley
Robert E. Buckley, 79, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2001 at Countryside Care Center. He was born May 25, 1921 in Aurora.
Survivors include his three nieces, Judy (Bob) Moss and Gloria Stephenson, both of Aurora and Maureen (Bob) Flinn of Montgomery; a nephew, Bob (Louanne) Buckley of Aurora; several great nieces and nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Kathryn (Hollaran) Buckley; his brother, Harold Buckley; and his sister, LaVerne Stephenson.
Funeral mass will be held Saturday, January 13, 2001 at 11 AM at Holy Angels Church. Father Dean E. Russell will officiate with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 13 from 10-11 AM at Holy Angels Church, 720 Hardin Ave., Aurora. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Daleiden Lake St. Mortuary, 220 N. Gerald Butler
Mr. Gerald Butler, 78, of Aurora passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001 at Central DuPage Hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1922 in Oxford Depot, N.Y., the son of the late Asa and Minnie Butler.
Gerald began life on his family's Dairy Farm in New York. During his youth, he was a local high school basketball star, holding the record for consecutive free throw shots. He was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran where he became a competitive Boxer for his squadron. After his honorable discharge from his military service, he moved to Aurora, IL to marry Deloris Miller. He retired as a PBX Supervisor from Illinois Bell Telephone Company after 35 years and was a member of The Illinois Bell Pioneer's. During the first 6 years after his retirement, he worked with his son-in-law as an automobile salesman at Dave Cory Ford in Morton Grove, IL. Later, he sold cars for Farnsworth Ford in Aurora, IL. He was a former member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed walking, bowling and gaming as his hobbies. He was a loving husband and caring father that will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years of marriage, Deloris (Miller) Butler of Aurora; three daughters, Linda (Rex) Benjamin of Aurora, Sherry (Dave) Cory of The Woodlands, Texas, and Laurie (John) Drew of LaPorte, Texas and his son, Barry (Jeanine) Butler of Aurora. He is the Grandfather to nine grandchildren; Daniel and Bridget Butler, Todd and Bryan Tullett, Jeff and Ricky Cory, Kimberly Phillip, Darrick and Alicia Drew and several great grandchildren.
Gerald's family also included three brothers, Vernon, Roland and Frank; and four sisters, Kathleen, Marjorie, Angeline and Fern. His father, mother, one brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
Visitation will be Friday, 3-7 p.m Jan. 12, 2001 at The Healy Chapel in Aurora.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 11 a.m., Jan. 13, 2001 at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora.

Frances Lillian (Garrett) Carter
Frances Lillian (Garrett) Carter, 84, of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2001 at her home. She was born July 8, 1916 in Plano, IL, the daughter of Margaretta (Johnson) and Earl Logan Garret.
Frances graduated from East Aurora High School. She was a former employee of Sears Roebuck and Company.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Arlen) Peterson; a son, Robert (Roberta) Carter; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Garrett; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick James Carter and a son, James C. Carter.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2001 at THE DALEIDEN LAKE STREET MORTUARY, at 1:00 p.m. Rev. John Hall will officiate with interment at River Hills Memorial Park.

Richard Lee "Dick" Crosley
Richard Lee "Dick" Crosley, 66, of Aurora, passed away Tuesday January 9, 2001, at Provena Mercy Center. He was born on June 28, 1934 in Indianapolis, IN., to Ralph and Lucille (Holstine) Crosley.
Dick was a 1953 graduate of Elnora Twp. High School (Indiana) and a graduate of Acme School of Tool and Die Design (South Bend). He also attended Waubonsee Community College. He was employed as a Tool Engineer by Lyon Metal Company. Dick enjoyed memberships in the Phoenix Club, Tiger Club, Third Ward Club, Aurora Turners and the Irish Club.
On February 1, 1954, he married Jeanette (Jean) Dorshak, at St. Mary's Church in Michigan City, IN. They had seven children, Lucille (Daniel) Smith, MI., Richard Alan Crosley, GA., Mary Helen (Ron) Bear, CA., William Crosley, Aurora, Roy Crosley, TN., and Edie Rae Young, IN.; and twelve grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Lucille Crosley Moulden, Ralph Crosley; and a son, Ralph Crosley II.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2001 at 1:30 PM at the Interment Chapel at Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, IN.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 11, 2001 from 4:00-8:00 PM at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora IL. 630-897-9291 and on Friday from 1:00-1:30 PM at Greenwood Cemetery.

Edward P. Erhart
Edward P. Erhart, 67, of Oregon, formerly of Hinckley-Big Rock area died Tuesday, at KSB Hospital in Dixon. born June 7, 1933 in Aurora, the son of the late Thomas and Minnie (Martin) Erhart.
Married Lorraine Rood, November 27, 1954 in Sandwich. Lifelong farmer and a real estate broker for 30 years. Attended St. Mary's Church in Maple Park and Oregon; member of the Moose Lodge for over 40 years and a member of DeKalb County Farm Bureau. Served in the U.S. Army in Texas for two years and was a member of the American Legion.
Survived by his wife; two daughters, Joann (Jim) Coleman of Rockford, and Judy (Ricky) Zabala of Menominee, MI; two sons, Thomas (Vicki) Erhart of Sycamore and Steven (Karen) Erhart of Hinckley; eight grandchildren, Jeremy, Jordan and Jerica Coleman, Carrie Erhart, Jessica and David Erhart, Richie and Thomas Zavala.
Funeral at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home.

John Glen Foltz
John Glen Foltz, 81, of Newton, IL, formerly of Aurora, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2001.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia (Donald) Collman of Newton, IL, formerly of Aurora; sons, Jerry (Marilyn) Foltz of Aurora and Ellard (Bonnie) Foltz of Marion, AR; two sisters, Zelma Marrs of Valparaiso, IN and Mabel Nichols of Newton, IL; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2001. With the funeral following visitation.

Eugene S. Herren
Eugene S. Herren, age 77, born March 26, 1923 died Jan. 9, 2001 in Tucson, AZ.
He worked at Stephens-Adamson until 1967 and then moved to Tucson with his wife, that same year. He served in the US Navy during WWII.
Preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Lillian Herren; one brother. William and, his wife, Noreen.
Survived by sisters, Betty Jane Dillenburg and Shirley (Chuck) Kenner both of Montgomery, IL; several nieces and nephews.
Services on Sat. Jan. 13, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Lutheran Church of Ascension, in Tucson AZ.
