Shirley June Foster, 78 years of Oswego, IL died Saturday, January 13, 2001 at Jennings Terrace in Aurora, IL.
She was born June 12, 1922 in Oswego, IL the daughter of the late William A. and Elsie M. (nee Westphall) Fechner.
She was a member of the Oswego Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. (Mormons)
Prior to her forced retirement due to ill health Shirley had worked as a clerk at Bohn's Food Store and Shuler's Drug Store both former businesses in downtown Oswego, IL.
She is survived by her daughter, Marcia (Leslie) DeWitt; a son Richard (Jean) Foster, both of Oswego, IL; seven grandchildren, Jason Foster, Duke (Kathy) DeWitt, Janell Foster, Molly DeWitt, Jamie Foster, Doug DeWitt, Lynsey Foster; a great granddaughter Darien Goodspeed; two brothers Lester (Maureen) Fechner of North Aurora, IL and Gerald Fechner of Yorkville, IL and by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at the McKEOWN-DUNN FUNERAL HOME, LTD, 210 Madison St., in Oswego, IL with Bishop Leslie DeWitt, Sr. officiating. Grace F. Green
Grace F. Green, 70, of Aurora, passed away January 11, 2001 at her home. She was born Feb. 7, 1930 in Tuscola, Illinois.
Mrs. Green was employed as a punch press operator at National Metalwares for 24 years. She was a member of the Eagles Club and the East Side Social Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Diane (Larry) McCormick of Aurora; two sons, Dennis and Doc Quick, both of Decatur, Illinois; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one step-daughter, Laura (Bob) Edward of Aurora; also one sister and one brother.
She is preceded in death by her husband Garry R. Green; her parents, William and Hannah (Kirkwood) Auten; four sisters and seven brothers.
Funeral services for Mrs. Green will be private and there will be no visitation. Local arrangements were completed by the Dieterle Memorial Home. 897-1196.
John R. Hall
John R. Hall, Sr., 72 years of Polo, IL, formerly of Aurora, IL and New Albany, MS died Friday, January 12, 2001 at CGH Hospital in Sterling, IL. He was born October 21, 1928 in New Albany, MS the son of the late Mack and Flossiebelle (nee Whitehead) Hall. Prior to his retirement in 1985 he was employed as a shipping/receiving clerk at Barber-Greene Mfg. Co. in Aurora, IL. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Polo, IL and the Barber-Greene Hunting and Fishing Club in Oswego, IL.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan (Roy) Meyer of Byron, IL; four sons, John (Cindy) Hall, Jr., of Yorkville, IL, Randy (Joann) Hall of Aurora, IL, Timothy (Linda) Hall of Montgomery, IL, Danny (Linda) Hall of Plainfield, IL; 12 grandchildren, Bobby and Douglas Meyer, Toby, Cory, Joshua, Joseph, Jacob, Tim, Tiffany, Tanya, Tabitha, Katie Hall; two great grandchildren, Michael and Maxwell Hall; four sisters, Betty (Jack) Edwards of New Albany, MS, Sue (Gernie) Backman of Aurora, IL, Mona Mattingly of Aurora, IL, Dorothy (Dan) Thomas of Warden, WA; three brothers, Dick (Edith) Hall of Memphis, TN, James (Sara) Hall of Aurora, IL, Lavell (Pat) Hall of Olympia, WA and by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dortha Elois Hall and several sisters and brothers.

Beulah O. "Dessie" Simmons
Beulah O. "Dessie" Simmons of Sandwich, IL, died Friday, January 12, 2001 at Dogwood Healthcare Center in Sandwich, IL. She was born August 23, 1913 in Hardin County, IL the daughter of the late James and Henrietta Fields.
She was a member of the Apostolic Church of Shorewood, IL.
She is survived by a daughter, Hazel Mae (William) Newton of Salem, AR; a son, Elbert "Leo" (Candace) Simmons of Oswego, IL; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elbert Y. Simmons; two sisters, Sylvia and Cozine and a brother, James Fields.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2001 from 12:00 noon until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the McKEOWN-DUNN FUNERAL HOME, LTD in Oswego, IL with Rev. Stan Motley officiating. Burial will take place at the Seward Mound Cemetery in Minooka, IL.

Willis Franklin (Frank) Adams
Willis Franklin (Frank) Adams, 57, of Aurora, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2001, at Rush-Copley Medical Center. He was born October 9, 1943 in Louisville, KY.
Frank moved to Illinois in 1971. He was employed at Globe Union for 17 years. He later became an over-the-road truck driver and enjoyed the freedom of traveling and seeing the country, which was a life-long dream accomplished.
Frank is survived by his mother, Gladys B. Claybrooks; his four children, Darrell E. (Renee) Arnold, Rodney W. Arnold, Mesha R. (Anthony) Blackwell and Tisha F. Adams; nine grandchildren, Tevita Chatman, Javonna Davis, Corey Grissette, Shaquayla Arnold, Darrell Arnold Jr., Rodney Arnold Jr., Roderick Arnold, Zekiah Blackwell, Kevon Adams; two great grandchildren, Nakayla Mayfield and Xyshawn Mayfield.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stewart Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2001 at James Funeral Service. Rev. Kenneth Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Louisville, KY.

Robert "Bob" Gerald Fitzpatrick
Robert "Bob" Gerald Fitzpatrick, 66, of Aurora, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2001 at Countryside Care Center. He was born October 28, 1934 in Aurora.
Robert was a member of the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Machinist Union Local #236 of Aurora and was employed by Thor Power Tool for 18 years until the plant closed.
Survivors include two aunts; two nephews; one niece and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee J. and Helen (Schumack) Fitzpatrick; his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary (Wolf) Schumack; his paternal grandparents, James and Mary Schumack) Fitzpatrick; his two brothers, Lee and Thomas Fitzpatrick and one uncle.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at The Daleiden Lake St. Mortuary. Fr. Jerome L. Leake will officiate with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Anna Marie Gauer
Anna Marie Gauer, age 81, of Sandwich, IL, passed away, Sunday, January 14, 2001 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. She was born March 29, 1919 in Sandwich, IL, the daughter of Charles Ambrose and Ruby Mae (Walters) Wallis.
She married Lester E. Gauer on August 3, 1940 at St. John's Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL. She was employed at CTS Knights in Sandwich for 27 years retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Plano.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2001 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Plano with Fr. Jerome Zalonis officiating. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Somonauk.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2001 at the Turner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Plano.
She is survived by a son, David (Karen) Gauer of Mesa, AZ; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth (John) Flood of Effingham, IL; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy (Bill) Griffith of Sandwich, IL; four brothers, Charles (Mary) Wallis of Dixon, IL; Ronald (Pat) Wallis of Sandwich; James (Ilene) Wallis of Yuicaipa, CA and Donald (Ruth) Wallis of Sandwich, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her sister, Beatrice Thompson.
Kenneth F. Kernodle
Mr. Kenneth F. Kernodle, 93, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2001 at Parkwood Healthcare Center in Lebanon. He was born in Lebanon on March 11, 1907, the son of the late Ora E. and Grace I. (Markland) Kernodle.
He was married to Doris L. (DeBord) Kernodle on May 2, 1934. She died on July 10, 1996. He had worked at Marmon-Harrington in Lebanon for a period. He then spent about 20 years as an employee of Best Foods in Indianapolis where he retired in 1974. He was a member of Central Christian Church in Lebanon.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Jay (Nancy) Sidmore of Aurora, Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. Eloise Chambers of Zionsville, Indiana and Mrs. Alma Todd of Zionsville, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Kernodle.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at Myers Chapel of Memories. 1502 N. Lebanon St. Lebanon, Indiana. The Rev. Laurie Hart will officiate.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 16, 2001 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Myers Mortuary. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana will follow services. Masonic services will be on Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Myers Mortuary in Lebanon.
Memorials may be made to the Central Christian Church in Lebanon.
Marylou A. Klein
Marylou A. Klein, 87, of Pen Argyl, PA died Monday, January 8, 2001 in Easton Hospital. She was born June 8, 1913 in Izmir, Turkey, a daughter of Spence and Agnes (McGrath) Allen.
Her father was working in Turkey at the time of her birth. She was a Special Education Teacher and Therapist for the East Aurora Public School System, Aurora, IL retiring 24 years ago. She resided in Hinckley, IL, Sugar Grove, IL and retired to Sarasota, FL before moving back to Pen Argyl last year. She was a graduate of Pen Argyl High School and Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA and the University of Pennsylvania. She was a member of the American Assoc. of University Women and the Alumni of the University of Pennsylvania. She was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Pen Argyl.
Her husband, Arthur H. Klein, died in 1984.
She is survived by one son, Charles A. Klein of Powell, Ohio; one daughter, Rosemary Klein Tiani of Lexington, Mass.; two sisters, Ethel Allen and Margaret Mills both of Pen Argyl; five grandchildren; two nieces and great nieces and great nephews.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, Pen Argyl. Interment in St. Elizabeth's Cemetery, Pen Argyl. There will be no calling hours. The James B. Gaffney Funeral Home. 200 S. Robinson Ave. Pen Argyl is in charge of arrangements.

Lloyd E. Nelson, age 81, of Aurora, Illinois, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2001 at Provena Mercy Center in Aurora, Illinois. Countryside Parkway and then from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m on Thursday, January 18, 2001 at St. Olaf Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montgomery, Illinois. Wendell C. Olson, 75, of Sycamore, IL., died Monday, January 15, 2001 at Bethany Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in DeKalb, IL.
He was born June 3, 1924 in Aurora, IL., the son of Oscar A. Olson and Jenny (McIntire) Olson. He married Phyllis Klebe in 1947 in Aurora. He was a retired Mathematician for the Department of Army.
He is survived by his wife of Sycamore; two daughters, Christine Foster of Warsaw, Indiana, Stephany (Robert) Yarbrough of Sugar Grove; four grandchildren, Shane and Kristy Yarbrough, Sherry (Charlie) Gigous, Wendy (Bill) Kovach; and two great-grandchildren, Gus and Adora Gigous.
Predeccased by his parents and a brother, Merle Olson.

John Oliver Williams, 68, of Hot Springs Village, AR, (formerly of Springfield, Vandalia and Aurora, IL), died Friday, January 12, 2001 following an auto accident. He was born May 28, 1932 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Edward C. and Alverna Mary (Sodomka) Williams.
He married Shirley L. Harrison on October 23, 1954 in Vandalia, IL. He was a supervisor at AT&T, retiring in 1988. Currently was an agent for Hot Springs Village Realty-Century 21. He was an U.S. Marine - 1952-1960, receiving National Defense Medal. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Hot Springs Village, AR; life time member of AT&T Pioneers; 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Hot Springs Village Assembly 2316, Gahana, Ohio JC's 1960-1970; Good Sam Club; ABC Bowling Association; an avid camper and traveled extensively in the U.S.A.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley L. Williams of Hot Springs, AR; sons, John S. "Steve" and Sue Williams of Austin, TX, Greg and June Williams of Vandalia, IL and Tim and Bridget Williams of Loami, IL; one brother, Robert C. Williams of Leander, TX; and nine grandchildren, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Tony, Jessica, Melia, Tonya, Brittney, Michelle, and Courtney.
Funeral Services 10 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2001 at Mother of Dolors Catholic Church with Father Stephen Sotirof officiating. Organist is Pat Buscher; and church choir will sing traditional hymns. Marion M. (Gengler) Braun
Marion M. Braun, 89, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2001 at Provena Mercy Center Hospital. She was born December 10, 1911 in Aurora, Illinois.
Marion was a long time member of St. Joseph Church, where she was a past member of both the Arch-Confraternity of Mary and the Western Catholic Union. Marion was a graduate of St. Charles Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a private duty nurse for many years.
Survivors include her son, Bob (Judy) Braun of Aurora; her daughter, Marge (Steve) Levine of Orland Park, Illinois; five grandchildren, Lynette (Ed) Klemm of Batavia, Mark Braun of Arlington Heights, Lisa (and her fiance, Jason Schisel), Sue Levine and Sarah Levine, all of Orland Park; her sister in-law, Mary Braun of Naperville and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Leo Braun; her parents, John and Margaret (Strotz) Gengler; a brother, Harry Gengler; a sister in-law, Helen Gengler and her brother in-law, (and Leo's twin brother), Lawrence Braun.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, January 22, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church. Fr. Jerome L. Leake will officiate. Family members will greet friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the church vestibule.
There will be no visitation. Marion donated her body to medical science for the advancement of education and research.
Memorial contributions may be made in Marion's name to St. Joseph Church, School Endowment Funds or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Ernest M. Gulley
Ernest M. Gulley, 80, of Westminster Village, IN, formerly of Marion, IN, died January 15, 2001 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis, IN.
He was born July 6, 1920 in Fleming County, Kentucky to the late Omar and Veda (Gardner) Gulley. He was a resident of Marion for 45 years. He had previously worked for Klain Steel and was owner operator of his own automobile service station. He was a member of the South Marion Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Gulley of LaFontaine, IN; daughters, Betty Young of Aurora, IL, Janet (Mrs. Ernie) Ferguson of Marion, IN, and Phyllis Anders of Inverness, FL; brothers, Wilbur (Bonnie) Gulley, Omar Gulley, Jr. and Tommy Gulley, all of Fleming Co., KY; 13 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by sisters, Ruby Owens and Beaulah Carpenter; 1st wife of 36 years, Daisey Gulley; son, Billy Gulley, and grandsons, Carl McKinley Bocock and Dennis Young, Jr.
